Your Dark Stars Horoscopes for June 2017

Dark Stars Horoscopes – June 2017

 By Jane Lyle

ARIES
So, you probably already know that few people are as swiftly decisive as you are. But allowing others to operate at their own pace would be a wise move – particularly when it comes to your family, or those – like old friends – you regard as ‘family’. Mars, your action-man ruler, enters intuitive, stubborn Cancer on 4th June. You’re invited to think about your home, family and ancestors – and maybe reflect on how these things have influenced your choices and progress. Extravagant, sensuous pleasures are highlighted between 8th – 15th, but life gets much busier once the Sun and Mercury enter Cancer at the Solstice, followed by the new Moon there too (24th). Reviewing your year so far is helpful, as is picking over what you thought or experienced in mid-May. All kinds of relationships need your attention – you fare best when you combine inventive flair with common sense and good advice. Conversations and encounters towards the end of June look pivotal – just keep an open mind and don’t rush in where angels fear to tread.

TAURUS
Venus will be adding her magnetism and love of beauty to your presence from the 6th June until 5th July. If you need to mount a charm offensive, then the days between the 8th and 14th are looking seductive, musical, and good for communication. More midsummer magic appears around the Solstice (21st), when sweet Venus in Taurus waltzes with romantic Neptune and then gets passionate with steamy Pluto (23rd-24th). You already sense change – perhaps you want a new career, or a more committed relationship? Or perhaps you’re just idly wondering how things will pan out. You do know, deep down, that you’re not truly satisfied with how things are for you now. August’s big eclipse in Leo is already opening up the door to unusual new possibilities, so do pay close attention to your thoughts, dreams, and any odd coincidences or synchronicities you encounter this month. Around the end of June could be a most enlightening time, a time when you begin a new journey of love, creativity, and satisfying friendships. Bon voyage!

GEMINI
Your zodiac year has begun, and with the Sun and Mercury in buzzy Gemini until the Solstice (21st) you’ve got plenty to say, and plenty to think about this June. Try not to over-react in the days around the full Moon on the 9th , and during the week following it – even if you’re struggling to understand why others say, and do, confusing or disappointing things. It’s more positive and productive to concentrate on your own brilliant ideas, and find ways to make money from some of them. It’s also a time when you can consider your deepest values. Ask yourself what’s changed – would you like to reshuffle your priorities? It could be time for something – perhaps a job or relationship – to end. While this might not be under your control, you’ll see how a new phase is unfolding throughout summer 2017. What came up mid-May crops up again towards the end of June. Take another look – you’ll probably want to focus not only on your life direction, but also on your wider hopes, wishes and dreams for the future too. You’re very attractive this month, so enjoy being magnetic, and don’t let anxiety get the upper hand.

CANCER
A conversation with a friend or colleague really gets you thinking as June begins. Something stirs in your memory, or you have a dream so vivid that it wakes you up during the night. Intriguing signposts on the road are always worth studying, so take yourself seriously and make time for a little reflection. Mars enters Cancer on 4th June, heralding a dynamic renewal of determination to get things done. Take it easy though, you don’t need to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut this summer. Instead, why not enjoy some delicious, musical, or pleasurable times with your friends and loved ones? Venus is in Taurus, boosting your charms and attracting all sorts of joyful moments and warm hearts. It’s a much-needed shift really – you’ve experienced so much focus – some of it rather disruptive – on your goals this year. And you do know that all work and no play makes Jack (and everybody else) a dull boy. Your astrological year begins on 21st June, followed swiftly by a new Moon in Cancer. By October, you’ll realise that your year ahead is looking very different – in a brilliant way – from the one that’s just coming to a close.

LEO
Many of you are currently standing in the wings, waiting for your moment to step out on stage. You’ve studied long and hard for the part you’re about to play, and it’s hard to believe your moment to shine is almost here. But it is. Gradually, you’ll begin to feel more adventurous and creative. Don’t worry if you experience a few delays or even disappointments in June and early July, for the bigger, sunnier picture is opening up day by day. Helpful, charming, or even romantically-inclined people are attracted into your orbit this month. And while things social or passionate may get off to a slow start, some of these individuals will be playing an important part in your future later on this year. Meanwhile, Mars in Cancer until 20th July means that what’s hidden or slightly removed from the world needs some of your attention. Your own buried feelings may surface, or you could be very concerned about someone close who’s having a hard time. The holy grail is balance – something you can seek, and find, during June and July.

VIRGO
The Sun and Mercury are in Gemini – all’s crazy busy in your world as you reach a little fork in the path ahead. Some kind of decision about your home and family seems to be looming, and could be clarified around the time of an intuitive full Moon in galloping Sagittarius on the 9th June. At least you’ll have a better idea about what you’re dealing with, but you’d be wise to wait and see what news, information, and events crop up at midsummer – from the 20th – 25th looks like a very interesting time for you. Romantically, too, there are some beautiful possibilities this June – maybe a holiday or weekend trip with your partner, or a flirtatious frisson with someone new if you’re single. Inspiration from other cultures, seaside places, forests and gardens opens up your imagination, and your heart. This is especially vital if you’ve spent a lot of your time and energy sorting out practical problems this year. Your impulse to organise things, and help others, is part of your inner core. But in order to be supportive, you need to take good care of yourself too.

LIBRA
Sometimes other people seem to pop up out of nowhere with offers, demands, or ideas. Now, some of this is well worth considering – but not without talking to both those who know you well, and those who can offer great advice. Whatever you do, don’t get lost in a fantasy world – particularly if you’re thinking about shelling out cash. It’s not clear, yet, quite how things will pan out – and you need to know what you’re dealing with before you invest your precious time, money, or emotional commitment. What emerges by the end of June reveals what’s worth pursing, and what can be recycled or thrown out – including certain alliances or entanglements you may have got yourself involved with. Your own pleasure in all the lovely, small, and delightful things that make life worth living is vitally important. So why not look after your wellbeing and take a little trip, or simply slow down and smell the roses?

SCORPIO
Mars, your traditional ruling planet, is entering the watery sign of Cancer on 4th June. It’s good news for you, boosting your energy and confidence. So if you’d like to make big changes to your everyday routines, or begin looking at ways to expand your skills, June and July are a positive time to begin. Partners, longstanding friends, and colleagues are all on your side – more or less – so should you need support or encouragement it is there for you. You’ll realise just how much someone thinks of you too, and see how genuine their feelings are. Other things are shifting in subtle ways, as you ponder your ambitions or wonder what happened to certain hopes and wishes you once had. This is an ongoing theme – you could rediscover something well worth dusting off, or see inventive new ways of manifesting your dreams. Putting in the hard work now means that you’ll be ready for take off when expansive Jupiter enters Scorpio in October, opening up the channels to luck and fortunate twists of fate for a whole year.

SAGITTARIUS
Your own full Moon rises on 9th June, stirring your emotions and whispering in your dreams. And while there’s a lively atmosphere surrounding partners, friends, and associates, you’ll also want a bit of time to think about the year so far. Many of you will be brimming over with amazing ideas, or feeling quite restless and experimental. With Jupiter, your ruler, turning direct on the same day as that swimmy, shape-shifting full Moon, there are new possibilities and encounters to look forward to as summer unfolds. A shared project, for example, could evolve into something really special, or open the door to love if you’re single. Just tread carefully when dealing with domestic issues – everything from family members to a dodgy washing machine has the potential to confuse or mislead you. A measured approach brings benefits in the real world, while a more open-minded attitude to all things meditative and creative helps you discover some exciting options you hadn’t considered before.

CAPRICORN
Mars in your opposite sign, Cancer, brings an energetic focus on your partners, close friends, and longstanding colleagues this month. You’ll find yourself having some fascinating conversations, some of which can lead to so much more in one way or another. There is, with Venus in Taurus, some pleasing romantic and creative potential – which could easily tie in to your working life, or illuminate any short trips you make this month. Other sources of joy are music, food, and the natural world. Of course, these lovely distractions don’t mean it’s all plain sailing. Disruptions within your home and family are still likely to unsettle you, but a more satisfying solution to some of them is waiting to be discovered. You may have to consider some eccentric or unusual solutions to current dilemmas, but these could work out beautifully in the long run. Similarly, if you need to earn more money it’s a great time to think sideways, backwards, and inside out – sometimes the most unlikely possibilities are the ones that bear fruit in the end.

AQUARIUS
Are you beginning to feel differently about things? Are you remembering ambitions, dreams or activities you’d long neglected or forgotten? The cosmos is gently nudging you along towards a new phase, which has deep roots in the past. Pay close attention to conversations you have this month, and listen carefully to your own inner voice too. Not only are there some worthwhile ideas waiting to be discovered, there’s a sense of reconnecting with certain friendships that truly matter to you. Some of this could lead to sweet romance in July, or help you see how you can better use your skills to find more fulfillment at work. What’s at an early stage now will become more important by August, when you can expect all sorts of revelations and news. Meanwhile, travel, study, and anything that helps you learn and develop are all looking good. You may have to make some compromises – and certainly watch your spending – but these are part of what’s looking like a much more rewarding, even fateful, time for you.

PISCES
June’s planet patterns offer you luscious opportunities for love, inspiration, and joy with lovely Venus feeling voluptuous in Taurus, and dynamic Mars supporting you from watery Cancer. With Neptune in Pisces you’re at your most Piscean these days – you may notice that you’re more tuned in to current trends, or able to empathise more easily with other people. Maintaining your boundaries is therefore essential, since keeping negative individuals at arm’s length is more important than ever. A full Moon in Sagittarius (9th) signals endings – you may abandon one particular ambition, or find that things at work are changing quite dramatically. But with your enhanced ability to sense what’s around the corner, you’re in an excellent position to surf the waves. If you’re involved in neighbourhood projects, or a money-spinning sideline, June brings much discussion and the need for some silky juggling skills. Your empathy and charm means you’re ideally placed to smooth over any disagreements and encourage others to co-operate. Stay calm at the end of the month, and all should go swimmingly.

Cosmic Weather Horoscope – June 2017

by Jane Lyle

Thought for June

‘Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the blue sky, is by no means a waste of time.’

– John Lubbock, “Recreation”, The Use of Life, 1894

Thursday 1st June –  Monday 31st July:

Pearls and Pitfalls – Jupiter, Neptune, and the art of compromise

The sometimes-uneasy connection between Jupiter and Neptune continues to flavour summer 2017. Jupiter travels through airy Libra, a dynamic sign that rules partnerships, diplomacy, and co-operation. Neptune is powerfully placed in its home of watery Pisces, a sign that can be compassionate, intuitive, and creative.

Of course, all the signs and planets have a dark side too – Libra can be indecisive, manipulative, and cold. Pisces can also be cold, chaotic, and adept at misleading others. We’ve got a link between intellectual air and emotional water. Somehow, between now and the end of July, these two must find a way to work together by compromising and making the adjustments signified by their aspect, the quincunx.

In some ways Jupiter and Neptune are very sympathetic to one another. They both rule Pisces, both are concerned with ideals, and both have a spiritual or religious domain too. In Greek and Roman myth, they were brothers – Jupiter (Zeus) as king of the gods, ruling the realms of the sky while Neptune (Poseidon) ruled the oceans.

This summer’s challenging trick is to learn how to blend emotion, intuition, and compassion (Neptune in Pisces) with reason, strategy, and useful, even lucky, alliances (Jupiter in Libra). Bear in mind that Jupiter expands and inflates, while Neptune dissolves boundaries of any and every kind – into those salty oceans they go.

A string of planetary contacts with the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars shine a light on Jupiter and Neptune’s alchemical laboratory throughout June. I suspect we’ll be hearing about many peculiar experiments and mysterious experiences during June, and July.

Everyone with planets and points at 13-14 degrees of any sign can find their natal chart is energised in subtle ways by this odd couple.

Some luminous pearls to look for are:

*Spiritual development

*Idealistic visions for a better future

*Ways to care for those who are sick, or desperately in need

*Learning how to sympathise with, and understand, others – interesting new friendships can begin now

*Creative discoveries

*Love and imagination

*Powerful phase for intuitive and psychic development

Some pitfalls to watch out for include:

*Confusion about others’ beliefs or values – fake news, social media rumours, and conspiracy theories multiply at this time…..

*Huge, over-inflated optimism leading to disastrous investments, gambles, or decisions

*Deception and scandals in health care practices, religious institutions, prisons, large organisations, educational establishments, travel organisations…Neptune really loves a juicy scandal

*Disappointing or delusional unions and partnerships in love, friendship, business and politics – who’s fooling who?

*Issues and upsets caused by addiction, drugs both legal and illegal, and drugs or alcohol legislation, including medical marijuana.

Out in the world

Jupiter and Neptune are activating many national horoscopes.

The USA’s founding horoscope, for instance, has its Sun (leadership and leaders) at 13 degrees of self-protective Cancer, and Saturn (government, law, justice) at 14 degrees of Libra. Neptune flows with the Cancer Sun – potentially a glamorous and idealistic, if confusing, vibe. Jupiter aligns with the US Saturn, expanding ideas and discussions around justice, diplomacy, and the law.

All the positive potential of Jupiter and Neptune is available to channel, if adjustments and compromises are made. And, of course, all the pitfalls have the potential to manifest before our very eyes as well. It looks like yet another very tense and eventful month in the USA – adjustments, checks and balances will be needed, but will they be made?

It’s intriguing, I think, that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Sun in Libra is at 13 degrees (7th October 1952). Assuming his date of birth is correct, he’ll have Jupiter boosting his confidence this summer, and Neptune swirling around signifying some hidden or concealed thoughts and motivations. Religious, spiritual, or drugs and alcohol related concerns could preoccupy him from time to time as well.

When warrior Mars appears in homeland security Cancer, great care should be taken, for the temptation to over-react and make mistakes could be strong. Mars is vitalising this link between expansive Jupiter and slippery Neptune between the Solstice (21st) and the end of June. It’s a tricky, dynamic phase when individuals, organisations, and nations would benefit from exercising calm caution.

There’s a darker intensity looming at the end of June and beginning of July. At this time Mercury and Mars go on to challenge Pluto – so striving for balance before this dramatic moment would be wise. We can always hope.

Here are some bubbling Jupiter-Neptune dates to be aware of this month:

Sun in Gemini trine Jupiter in Libra 1st – 4th June
Sun in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces 1st – 5th June

Mercury in Gemini trine Jupiter in Libra 12th – 14th June
Mercury in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces 13th – 15th June

Venus in Taurus quincunx Jupiter in Libra 17th – 20th June
Venus in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces 17th June – 21st June

Mars in Cancer square Jupiter in Libra 22nd June – 25th June
Mars in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces 22nd June – 27th June

And for anyone who’s curious about the fixed stars, as I am, Jupiter is currently aligned with Algorab, in the agitated and tricksterish constellation of Corvus, the Crow. The crow or raven is a strange, magical bird with links to many myths around the world. It’s another symbolic warning to tread lightly and be cautious and wary in all our dealings around the end of June and beginning of July.

Friday 2nd June:

Flaming June

Our astrological atmosphere is complex for sure. Yet it offers some fabulous glowing fires during the whole of June. This comes courtesy of the positive and potentially uplifting flow between Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries, boosted by the portal that is represented by the Moon’s nodes in Leo. It can be a pivotal time for space travel and research, science in general, and legal or political reforms.

All three fire signs working together can warm our hearts, our imaginations, and our ability to bring all manner of creative, inventive projects into practical reality. At its best, this trine says ‘express yourself’. Edgy new ways meet tried-and-tested old ways, and attract others who want to join us in exploring sparky, innovative projects.

Keep an open mind, and we can make changes that have a solid base in reality. Practical magic indeed.

Fiery degrees to look out for range between 23 – 27 of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius:

Moon’s North node: 27 Leo – 25 Leo by the end of June
Saturn: 27 Sagittarius – 23 Sagittarius by the end of June
Uranus: 25 Aries – 26 Aries by the end of June

And here are a few diary dates that might just light your fire:

Sun in Gemini opposite Saturn in Sagittarius 13th June – 15th June
Sun in Gemini sextile Uranus in Aries 16th – 19th June

Mercury in Gemini opposition Saturn in Sagittarius 18th – 19th June
Mercury in Gemini sextile Uranus in Aries 20th – 21st June

This really is a special time. Although Saturn trines Uranus exactly once more, in November, the Moon’s nodes won’t be joining them then.

Sunday 4th June – Tuesday 6th June:

A Little Change in the Weather

Mars, Mercury and Venus change signs over the next two days. We can look forward to a shift in our social, romantic, and day-to-day personal lives. Hopefully, this offers some sort of counter-balance to what’s going on in the world around us.

Venus is gorgeous, indulgent, fertile and artistic in her home sign of earthy Taurus. Venus is finally released from her long stay in impulsive Aries (since February), where the gentler and sexier side of Venus tends to have a hard time. Venus in Taurus smiles, stretches out on the grass, and eats another ice cream.

Mercury, meanwhile, is uber-chatty in his home sign of gregarious, versatile Gemini. Mars in Cancer is more self-protective, emotional and less direct – moving sideways towards goals. Yet it’s more dynamic than Mars in Gemini, and tends to get things done slowly but surely.

Overall, this line-up looks good for our five senses, for romance, and taking real pleasure in food and nature. Mercury in Gemini until 21st June signals lively times, and is good for socialising, networking, and publicity ventures.

The combination of Mars in maternal Cancer and Venus in foodie Taurus sends a gentle symbolic message about the essential role of food and nurturing in life too. Food waste is happening all around us, with perfectly edible fresh produce binned because it’s the wrong shape or close to its ‘sell-by’ date. Some charities are aiming to do something creative and positive about this depressing, soulless state of affairs. If you’re interested, please do find out more here:

Or discover chef Massimo Bottura’s inspiring Food for Soul project here:

The astrology dates are:

Sunday 4th June – Mars enters Cancer. Mars travels through Cancer until 20th July.
Tuesday 6th June – Mercury enters Gemini; Venus enters Taurus

Friday 9th June:

Full Moon rises at 18 degrees of Sagittarius, the Centaur

A rather unstable full Moon rises in restless, excitable Sagittarius. Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, is turning forwards again today too. All in all, expect culminations and turnarounds – but nothing is yet fixed, and much will fluctuate over the next two weeks. Beware illusions and delusions, and reserve judgment for now.

There’s more in the Moon Diary.

Jupiter turns direct at 13 degrees of Libra today too.

Jupiter now has a clear run through Libra until 10th October, when the gas giant enters Scorpio and a very different, and more intense, Jupiter phase begins.

Jupiter’s work in the area of relationships, diplomacy, and balance becomes clearer as the weeks pass. Partnership and open enemy issues we’d shelved or sidelined since March – or even last winter – will catch our attention in August when Jupiter squares Pluto. More opportunities to deal with our connections crop up as Jupiter sextiles Saturn, and opposes disruptive Uranus for the last time this year, in September.

Friday 16th June:

Neptune turns retrograde at 14 degrees Pisces today.

Neptune turns direct again on 22nd November. Mostly, I don’t think we really notice Neptune retrograde. When we do realise we’re walking through fog, we may glimpse a phase of slippery, seductive confusion.

Wednesday 21st June:

It’s the Summer Solstice here in the Northern hemisphere, and Winter Solstice down in the South.

The Sun enters Cancer the Crab, a dynamic Cardinal water sign, on the longest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere.

The Solstice moment is a vital point in our solar year, and has been observed and celebrated for millennia in numerous regions here on Earth. If you want to find out much more about the many incredibly ancient places where the Solstice was celebrated:

http://www.archaeoastronomy.com/

There are more turning points for us as Mercury enters Cancer today as well.

Mercury in Cancer thinks intuitively, and is defensive, possessive, and strategic. Also, Mercury in Cancer can be very funny, if just a little bit crabby from time to time.

Today’s beautiful summer dance between lovely Venus and mystical Neptune adds to the magical, musical, and romantic possibilities of the season.

Saturday 24th June:

The Feast of St. John the Baptist, Old Midsummer Day

New Moon rises at 2 degrees of Cancer

‘Anyone who doesn’t believe in fairies had better shut these pages here and now and throw them into the wastepaper basket, or cut them up to line his bookshelves, and very expensive that will be. Not only will he be rejecting the world, but, in his antiquated Victorian scepticism…he will miss some extremely interesting things, and I am sorry for him. Of the many ways of being poor in spirit, and dismissing the earth as a dull sort of place, perhaps the stupidest is to say no to the hidden relish that gives this life its touch of magic.’

– Manuel Mujica Lainez, ‘The Wandering Unicorn’(1965)

Yes, now’s the time for bonfires on the beach, naked swimming, fortune-telling and a heady cocktail of both earthly, and unearthly, delights.

Venus in pleasure-loving Taurus trines intense Pluto, signifying earthy passion in all things. Mars in Cancer dives into Neptune’s boundless oceans, bringing some fantasy, imagination, music and mystery to the atmosphere.

Our new Moon in Cancer aligns with messenger Mercury, bringing high tides of emotional news, and encouraging us to talk about our feelings and intuitive visions. There’s more in the Moon Diary.

June 2017 Ascension Energies

June 2017 Ascension Energies

May Review

Perhaps you experienced some emotional ups & downs in May, or were touched by the emotions of those around you. Irritation, perceptual insights, communication glitches, glimpses of bliss, frustration and excitement may have been part of the roller coaster ride of May. April, May and June Energies are connected in a metaphor of the inhale (April), pause (May) and exhale (June). How could a pause have felt so chaotic?!

Humanity is learning to progress more with ease rather than chaos.

May had some indicators of that flow of ease or chaos. The ascension symptoms were interesting as well. Vision blurring and clearing, changing sleep patterns (perhaps a little less fatigue by the end of the month?) and a need for change may have felt like an emotional push rather than just a thought. May was asking us to let the “breath of Life” flow easily, poignantly, and consciously at times.

Areon, the Lyran Council of Time,  has been saying since last year that we may start to see an increase in polarization in some people, even Lightworkers. Then there was a lot of information around these times being what we have been preparing for. This has refined into a focus on the power of our prayer—our awareness and communication with the subtle realms. For a few months now they’ve been speaking about how the meek are inheriting the Earth—that the inherently loving, compassionate ones are coming into their time of action, the first action always being internal.

May amplified the focus of the internal, the space within, the pause as the inhale permeates, then exhales to renew the cycle. The overarching energy was a pause to focus on your internal motivations that are leading your life. May was asking you to slow down into a moment(s) of rest within the chaos, to allow that pause its ability to replenish and fuel you for the next up or down. ;o)

June Energies – Beacon of Change

Like the exhale, June is a month that brings change. The internal change leads to the external change, which leads to the next internal change. The circle completes only to continue again. The spiral of Life. Go with the flow, yet consciously direct as appropriate to work with the compelling forces of Life. When the spiral is at a wide spin, it is dispersed, easy flow. When the spiral is at a point, that flow is fast and you feel an intense centrifugal force acting on you. To strain against it would entail a lot of effort. That is a time to focus within and go with the flow, for change is close.

In the world stage, expect change. In the inner world stage, direct change.

Bring your focus into the loving potentials which change challenges each being to embody. What is a challenge to you? We all have them.

May asked you to nurture those “challenges” with a deep abiding Love that inspires change from desire rather than chaos. What you discover as you focus on empowering your inner realm, is that what was challenging before is now just change. Like the artist facing a blank canvas, that “challenge” is exciting.

What does it take for the meek to inherit the Earth? It takes a different approach than control and domination, because that begets separation and repression. It’s what humanity has mostly been leading life with, it’s what you’ve been healing and changing through your spiritual work. On a logical level we recognize that the bullies and despots are afraid of change and afraid of themselves. If they felt safe, they wouldn’t feel a need to control others into repression.

The meek are those that Love so deeply, that they interact first from a silence that assesses a situation as to its resonance of Love. From that connection with Love, they choose interactions that have the potential to create a mutually beneficial, win/win scenario. The meek are the empaths, the sensitives, the compassionate ones—it doesn’t matter their job or relationship, they approach it all with a responsibility to something outside of the self while supporting the self to thrive.

This often requires a relearning of healthy boundaries. Who’s going to embody and teach that? The meek, those strong enough to Love. They are so powerful that they embody a sensitivity and compassion that compels progress for All Life. As the empaths teach what healthy boundaries are, everyone readjusts into understanding (over time).

It often requires learning to give AND receive, rather than allowing the lesson of imbalanced sacrifice to continue to teach the reflection of winners or losers. Compromise and giving won’t go away, in fact they will enhance and empower as humanity begins operating from the courage of compassion rather than the contraction into fear that suppression creates.

To go with the flow of June, direct your inner change with the compelling forces of life. Is it a dispersed and dreamy moment, asking you to feel into the broad connection of life, the vast potentials? Is it a  moment of fast movement flowing and impressing change upon you such that resistance is a wasted effort? Focus within and embrace the contraction into courage as you replenish for the inevitable expansion.

The exhale is asking you to let go of that which is no longer serving you.

June’s focus is served by releasing that which no longer serves your highest good. What is blocking you from easing into expansion and change? You can ask yourself some simple questions to align your inner realm with the future new you.

Ask yourself: What do I believe about myself that is not serving my highest good?

What new (inhale) belief am I ready to be? What new foundation would I like to build upon? How can I nurture/nourish/relax (the energy of May) this change into being?

Ask yourself: What do I believe about another/a situation/or life that is not serving my highest good?

What new belief am I ready to embody?

As you reshape your vibrational resonance, you are speaking the language of the subtle realms. Synchronicities align, ideas flow in, action flows easier. You begin consciously utilizing the huge, invisible engine of Life that builds worlds atom by atom. You can’t force the invisible realm. You can’t manipulate it, scare it, or deceive it into being. You become the change you are wanting to see in the world. As you resonate with that, you magnetize it to you. It anchors on Earth. The meek inherit the Earth. Those bold enough to Love in the face of the unknown become the conduits of Love’s grace nourishing Life.

In Summary

June is all about change. The external change will begin to reveal itself as the inner has been pushed and pulled into a new shape by the centripetal force of Love and empathic courage. Movement is the name of the game as you begin to deeply understand the power of standing up and standing for Love. June will show you the release that brings change as the power of your Love is released into the world.

Shine bright, dear Lightworker. You are the future of Love. Love will continue to nurture you into greater empowerment as the future yearns to embrace you. In the solstice month, embrace your day of longest light opening you to the dreamy expanse, or the shortest day contracting you into preparation for great expansion. The two opposites meet in the middle. Your heart. Earth is moved.

Happy June!

The Law Of Those Who Walk The Ancient Path

Egyptian Princess ✧

The Law Of Those Who Walk The Ancient Path

We are of the Old Ways, among those who walk with the Goddess and God and receive Their love.

Keep the Sabbats and Esbats to the best of your abilities, for to do otherwise is to lessen your connection with the Goddess and God.

Harm none. This, the oldest law, is not open to interpretation or change.

Shed not blood in ritual; the Goddess and God need not blood to be duly worshipped.

Those of our ways are kind to all creatures, for hurtful thoughts are quiet draining and aren’t worth the loss of energy.

Misery is self-created; so, too, is joy, so create joy and disdain misery and unhappiness. And this is within your power. So harm not.

Teach only what you know, to the best of your ability, to those students who you choose, but teach not to those who would use your instructions for destruction or control.

Also, teach not to boost pride, forever remember: She who teaches out of love shall be enfolded in the arms of the Goddess and God.

Ever remember that if you would be of our way, keep the law close to your heart, for it is the nature of the Wicca to keep the Law.

If ever the need arises, any law may be changed or discarded, and new laws written to replace them, so long as the new laws don’t break the oldest law of all: Harm None.

Blessings of the Goddess and God on us all.

Let’s Talk Witch – The God and Goddess

Possessed by you

Let’s Talk Witch – The God and Goddess

The Goddess and the God are everything and everywhere. They are the sun, the moon, the sky, the oceans, ants, flowers, nature, everything. You can see their splendor in a sunset, a child, a tree, in the stars; it’s everywhere, you just have to look and see it. They reveal themselves quite often in the most simplest forms. That seems quite a contradiction to what I just said about them being complex, but it’s true. Take a walk in the woods, or look at a butterfly, you’ll see it. The Goddess and The God are inherent in nature, and since they are so entwined in nature, we have to treat nature with just as much respect as we would a divine being.

The Goddess and the God as being part of the same being, just different aspects of that being. “Goddess”, refers to the female, creative aspect of that being. Both The Goddess and The God are equal, neither deserving more respect than the other. When you start focusing on just The Goddess, or just The God, things become unbalanced and unnatural. The ideal is a perfect balance of both energies. They are all of the deities that have ever existed, and the ones that will exist.

All the different gods and goddesses of all the different religions are the same being; almost but not quite the same idea as the 99 names of Allah, each name refers to a different aspect of that God. When you call the Goddess by the name of Bridget or Margawse, you are calling upon those aspects of The Goddess.

THE GODDESS

The Goddess is the universal mother. She is fertility, endless wisdom and love. She is all aspects of nature, harmful and helpful. Wiccans acknowledge both aspects of Her nature.

The Goddess has three aspects; The Maiden (Anu, Elaine, Blodeuwedd), The Mother (Badb, Arianrhod, Margawse), and The Crone (Morgan LeFey, Cerridwen, Macha). The Maiden is innocence, Springtime, renewal, youth, dawn and the continuation of all life. The Mother is the richness of life, nurturing, Summer, the day and a teacher. The Crone is darkness, night, the rest before the continuation of life, wisdom, counsel and reincarnation. Each of these aspects shows different stages of a women’s life, and each can be placed with the phases of the moon; The Maiden being the waxing moon, The Mother the full moon and The Crone the waning moon.

The Goddess of the Wicca is the Great Goddess. She is the Ground of Being, the Mother of All Living; the Creatrix, and the Destroyer, for She is ever Dual. She is the Earth Mother, the Lady of the Moon, and the Star Goddess. She is Queen of Heaven, Queen of Earth, and Queen of the Underworld. She is the Triple Goddess: the Virgin, the Bride, and the Hag, called the Three Mothers in Celtic regions.

The three aspects of the Triple Goddess are usually described as the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone; it must be remembered that the connotations of age associated with those titles derive from the experience of humans, who are subject to age and death; the Goddess is eternal: ever-changing and ever self-renewing, She will be young or old as She pleases.

As the Virgin, She is the Creatrix, the Lady of Birth and Death, the Star Goddess, the Queen of Heaven, the Giver of Inspiration, the Initiatrix.

She is Diana, Lady of the Moon and the Wild Things, Ever Virgin unto Pan: virgin unto the All, and therefore wed to None. She is also the Virgin Mother; and Her blue and white colors, and title “Queen of Heaven”, were borrowed by the Catholic Church for the Virgin Mary. Hers are the Waxing Moon, Venus as Morning and Evening Star, and all the vast starry realm; Her sacred color is White.

As the Bride, She is the Preserver, the Lady of Growth and Fertility, the Earth Mother, the Goddess of flocks and herds, Lady of Love and Fruitfulness and the fertility of the land; as Goddess of the Land She is also the Goddess of Sovereignty, and it is only by Sacred Marriage to Her that the King holds the right to the Throne. Hers are the Full Moon, the Earth, fruits and flocks and fields; Her sacred color is Red.

As the Hag, She is the Destroyer, the Lady of Decay and Death, the Goddess of Night and the Underworld, and also the cave and the tomb. For that which is born must also age, and decay, and die; and out of that which is dead and decaying arises new fertility, for life feeds ever on life. She is the Sow who eats Her own young, the “Nightmare Fertility and Death in One”, the Great Necessity by which the food chain and the cycle of life continue. Hence She is also the Goddess of regeneration. Hers is the Waning Moon, the dark night, the silence of the shadows, the midnight crossroads, and the wailing of the widow; Her sacred color is Black.

The Goddess is the Queen of all Witcheries: She is the Enchantress, the Shape-Changer; She is Isis, the “Lady of the Words of Power”; She is Cerridwen, the Sorceress at Her Cauldron; She is Hecate, the Mistress of the Magick of the Dark Moon. She is the Great Lady. She is the Goddess.

THE GOD

The God of the Wicca is the Horned God, the ancient God of Fertility: the God of forest, flock, and field and also of the hunt. He is Lord of Life, and the Giver of Life, yet He is also Lord of Death and Resurrection. For, like the Goddess, the nature of Her Horned Consort is also dual. For the Horned God is not only the Hunter, He is also the Hunted; He is the Sun by day, but He is also the Sun at Midnight; He is the Lord of Light, but He is also the Lord of Darkness: the darkness of night, the darkness of the Shadows, the darkness of the depths of the forest, the darkness of the depths of the Underworld.

The Horned God is the group soul of the hunted animal, invoked by the primitive shaman and the tribe: and as such, He is the Sacrificial Victim, the beast who is slain that the tribe might live, a gift from that group soul, who was often revered as the tribal totem or ancestral spirit. The Celts believed they were the descendents of the God of the Underworld, who was also the God of Fertility: the Latinized form of His name was Cernunnos, which means simply, the Horned One.

The Horned God is also the spirit of vegetation, of the green and growing things, whether of the vine or of the forest or of the field. Dionysus, Adonis, and many other vegetation and harvest Gods were all often depicted as horned, wearing the horns of the bull, the goat, the ram, or the stag: of whichever of the horned beasts was held sacred in that place and time. This aspect is the Dying and Resurrecting God who dies with the harvest and is rent asunder, as the grain is gathered in the fields; who is buried, as is the seed; who then springs forth anew, fresh and green and young, in the spring, reborn from the Womb of the Great Mother.

The Horned God is Osiris, who was often depicted with the horns of a bull. Osiris was believed to be incarnate in a succession of sacred bulls, and worshipped in that form as the god Apis. This was yet another form and manifestation of Osiris as the God of Fertility and also of Death and Resurrection. And Osiris bears the marks of a lunar, rather than a solar god, for Set tears the body of Osiris into fourteen pieces, the number of days of the waning moon; and then Isis, the Great Mother, gathers those pieces together and restores Osiris to life again.

The Horned God is the Great God Pan, the Goat-foot God with a human torso and a human but goat-horned head, the God whose ecstatic worship was so hated by the Church that they used His description for their “Devil” and called Him the lord of all evil. Yet, to the ancients who worshipped Him, and to the modern Pagans and Witches that worship Him still, “Pan is greatest, Pan is least. Pan is all, and all is Pan.”

The Horned God is not “the Devil”, except to those who fear and reject Nature, and the Powers of Life and human sexuality, and the ecstasy of the human spirit. The Horned God is the God of the Wicca.

Misconceptions About The First Quarter Moon Phase

Egypt

Misconceptions About The First Quarter Moon Phase

The lunar phase depends on the Moon’s position in orbit around the Earth and the Earth’s position in orbit around the sun. This animation (not to scale) looks down on Earth from the north pole of the ecliptic.

It might be expected that once every month, when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun during a new moon, its shadow would fall on Earth causing a solar eclipse, but this does not happen every month. Nor is it true that during every full moon, the Earth’s shadow falls on the Moon, causing a lunar eclipse. Solar and lunar eclipses are not observed every month because the plane of the Moon’s orbit around the Earth is tilted by about five degrees with respect to the plane of Earth’s orbit around the Sun (the plane of the ecliptic). Thus, when new and full moons occur, the Moon usually lies to the north or south of a direct line through the Earth and Sun. Although an eclipse can only occur when the Moon is either new (solar) or full (lunar), it must also be positioned very near the intersection of Earth’s orbit plane about the Sun and the Moon’s orbit plane about the Earth (that is, at one of its nodes). This happens about twice per year, and so there are between four and seven eclipses in a calendar year. Most of these events are quite insignificant; major eclipses of the Moon or Sun are less frequent.

About the First Quarter Moon Phase

At the First-Quarter Moon, the tension builds and something has to give!

If you’re born under this Moon, you live with this intensity, and are often a catalyst for breakthroughs.
The First-Quarter is also the waxing Half-Moon phase, and a kind of showdown, before the Full Moon reaches its crescendo. It’s considered a critical point of no return, and sometimes there’s a sacrifice of what’s not working.

It’s a point when change is forced upon us, and clashes with who we’ve been.

Astrologer Dana Gerhardt writes for Astrodienst, “We decide our futures at the quarter Moons. ‘Caught,’ as Rudhyar said, ‘in the wheel of change,’ we turn ourselves towards fulfillment or failure, as an incoming tide of possibilities slams against the momentum of what we’ve already known.”

The complimentary phase is the waning (decreasing) Half-Moon or Third-Quarter Moon. And that’s the phase of crisis leading to the New Moon, and it’s also a Sun-Moon square.

Both are confrontations with the familiar, and a demand to make big adjustments, to prepare for the next lunation (New Moon) or lunar peak (Full).

The Sun and Moon Square

This friction can be a motivating factor, bringing a sense of urgency to your life. You get things done!

You know instinctively what needs to be adjusted, and can be decisive (even ruthless) about making changes. This makes you a capable leader who is willing to question the status quo.

The tension comes from the Sun and Moon being at a hard angel — the square. These get a bad rap, but what would we do without those times of peaking stress, when we’re compelled to change!

The square pits the mission (Sun) against the comfort zone (Moon), and a new force busts through from the collision.

You’ll want to look closely at your Sun and Moon signs, and the Sun-Moon relationship in your birth chart. The square means they are in the same modality (Cardinal, Fixed or Mutable). This gives you the flavor of the tension that your Moon phase imprints on your personality.

Crisis of Confidence

You may often find yourself in situations that provoke a crisis of confidence. You might also often have to defend your ideas, particularly the ones that rock the status quo.

You’re at home in this kind of crucible, and might be bored in work where there’s no friction. At times, you might back down from the challenge of the moment, since emotions are so high.

This is definitely a Moon phase for feeling the fear and doing it anyway. But it’s also one for discerning the best course, while under extreme pressure.

It’s a point when crucial decisions are made, about what to leave behind, and what to develop further. You can work with the tension, and allow it to keep you on a forward path of growth. But you can also live with a lot of drama, and a feeling that there’s never any peace.

You make the most of these tensions when you consciously direct that intensity toward positive change. Through trial and error, you gain confidence in your own ability to push through resistance in an effective way. You may be a big personality that others see as relentlessly provoking change.

You’re at your best when your forceful assertiveness is directed toward a higher purpose.

On the Lunar Calendar: 7 to 10 1/2 days after the New Moon
Degree: 90 to 135 degrees ahead of the Sun
Inner Directive: to provoke change, seize the day

Magickal Applications for Wednesday

Magickal Applications for Wednesday

To the Romans, this day was called Dies Mercurii, or “Mercury’s day” Mercury was a popular character in the Roman pantheon. A messenger of the gods, he presided over commerce, trade, and anything that required skill or dexterity. The Celts also worshiped Mercury and eventually equated him with the Norse god Odin (some spelling variations on this name include Wotan, Wodin, and Wodan). In Norse mythologies, Odin, like Mercury, is associated with poetry and music. Interestingly enough, both Odin and Mercury were regarded as psychopomps, or the leaders of souls, in their individual mythologies.

Odin, one of the main gods in Norse mythology, was constantly seeking wisdom. He traveled the world in disguise as a one-eyed man with a long gray beard, wearing an old, beat-up hat and carrying a staff or a spear (which brings to my mind images of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings). In the Old English language, this day of Mercury evolved into Wodnes daeg, “Woden’s day,” or Wednesday.

Wednesday carries all of the planetary and magickal energies and associations of the witty and nimble god Mercury himself. Some of these mercurial traits included good communication skills, cleverness, intelligence, creativity, business sense, writing, artistic talent, trickiness, and thievery. And don’t forget all of those wise and enigmatic qualities associated with the Norse god Odin/Wodin, not to mention the goddess Athena’s contributions of music, the arts, handmade crafts, and writing. Wednesdays afford excellent opportunities for seeking wisdom, changing your circumstances, and improving your skills, be they in trade and commerce, music and art, or in communication and writing.

Be bold and daring today! Expand your knowledge of the Craft by working with the planetary energies of Mercury on this multifaceted day of the week. Consider the Greco-Roman gods Mercury and Hermes and all of the many lessons they have for you. Embrace change and movement, and work on your communication techniques. Conjure up a little good luck for yourself with that Mercury dime spell. Call on Athena to inspire you to try magickal arts and crafts and to be more creative in your own spellwork and witchery.

Meditate on Odin and see what you can discover about him. I wonder what sort of fabulous and fascinating magickal wisdom you will uncover? Odin is a shaman, after all; he may appear in many guises and faces. I guarantee that he will make you laugh at yourself before he is through with you, but you will learn. It’s up to you what you do with that knowledge. Will you let it shapeshift into wisdom?

Wednesday is the wild and wily day of the week, so try to go with the flow; don’t fight the quirky energies of the day. Most importantly, follow your heart, and always keep a good sense of humor, because of Wednesdays you will really need it.

The Witches Guide to Wednesday

Egyptian Magic

The Witches Guide to Wednesday

Ruler: Wodin, Mercury

Colors: Orange, light blue, and gray

Power Hours: Sunrise and the 8th, 16th, and 24th hours following

Keywords: Success, creativity, communication

The word Wednesday is reminiscent of the Norse wind god Wodin, which is referenced in the popular rhyme verse “Wednesday’s child is full of woe.” This does not mean that those born on this day are full of sorrow or trouble. To be full of Woden (Wodin) means to be full of wind, to be spirited. Woden was such a powerful pagan god that the German church fathers changed the name of his day to Mittwoch, meaning midweek, in an attempt to exorcise his influence.

In the Spanish word for Wednesday, miercoles, we clearly see its connection to Mercury. Under the guidance of Mercury; Wednesday is a day of swift activity, communication, correspondence, and phone calls. This is a good day for journalists, writers, poets, bargaining, hiring employees, and visiting friends.

On Wednesdays, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Mercury, making these times of the day doubly blessed. These are the strongest four hours for ritual work. Check your local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine when sunrise occurs.

The Magickal Day of Wednesday

The Magickal Day of Wednesday

Wednesday is named for Woden himself, although the Romans called it dies Mercurii. This is a day associated with the color purple, the planet Mercury, and the metal quicksilver – which is also called mercury. See a pattern here?

When it comes to deities… yes, Mercury! However, there are a few other gods associated with Wednesday, including Odin and Hermes, Athena, and Lugh. Gemstones like adventurine and agate come in handy as well, as do plants such as aspen trees, lilies, lavender and even ferns.

Business and job-related issues, communication, loss and debt, traveling, and journeys are all tied in to Wednesday. This is a good day to do a working to open up lines of communication – especially if your own actions are preventing you from being an effective speaker or listener. Go someplace new or return to an old favorite stomping ground, step up your game, and settle up your accounts.
