
Celebrating Legends, Folklore & Spirituality 365 Days A Year for January 25 and 26 – Old Disting/Burns Night
On the old runic calendars the 25th and 26th of January were for Disting-the feast of Disir the Norse guardian Goddess. dess. Great festivals were held in her honor at the temple in Uppsala, Sweden.
In more recent times it has become Burns Night, celebrating the birthday (1759) of the 18th-century Scottish bard Robert ert Burns. Traditionally friends and family gather for an evening of poetry, music, and feasting on Haggis.
