Full Moon in Cancer Horoscopes

The pace quickens at the first Full Moon of 2017

Everything appears to be evolving so fast that it’s daunting to keep track of it all. The Full Moon in hypersensitive Cancer on January 12, 2017, encourages contemplation as a strategy to maintain control over circumstances that have grown out of hand. But the Moon is part of a dynamic Grand Square, indicating the inevitability of change. We are being thrust into the future and traveling into unfamiliar territory while grandiose Jupiter opposes unconventional Uranus. Additionally, the Moon is also opposite transformational Pluto, intensifying this already powerful lunation.

Meanwhile, a surreal Venus-Neptune hookup tempts us with unrealistic fantasies. We may believe our dreams and nightmares to be real. Thankfully, we receive support from cerebral Mercury when it enters calculating Capricorn just a couple of hours after the Full Moon. Instead of being caught up in the emotionally charged atmosphere, we can rely on logic to help us find our way. If this first Full Moon of the year is an indication of what’s ahead, we’ll need to stay on our toes and trust our instincts in order to keep up with the increasing pace of life.

Aries Horoscope (March 21 – April 19)

You may have worked yourself into a corner, believing there is no easy way to meet your obligations while still being true to yourself. The moody Cancer Full Moon settles into your 4th House of Emotional Security, yet your reactions to a complicated situation can tilt events in your favor. Instead of shooting from the hip — which often works well for you — engage in practical negotiations. A quantum leap is only possible if you focus on finding common ground instead of attacking what appears to be the source of the problem.

Taurus Horoscope (April 20 – May 20)

The excitement of an unorthodox vision might shake your foundation since moving from concept to reality involves a destabilizing shift. Giving up beliefs and behaviors that anchor you isn’t necessarily easy. You may have the sensation that your life is floating off somewhere beyond your control. However, the self-protective Cancer Full Moon lights up your 3rd House of Information, tempting you to withdraw to a more comfortable space. A cozy gathering with your friends and family sounds like the best possible scenario. Nevertheless, establishing your own emotional security is your responsibility alone.

Gemini Horoscope May 21 – June 20)

Although you may wish to incorporate the ambitions of others into your plans, the tenacious Cancer Full Moon illuminates your 2nd House of Personal Resources, shifting the focus back to your individual needs. You might be harboring beliefs that your fantasies are real but chatty Mercury moves into calculating Capricorn, requiring you to access your innate practicality. Common sense is a flower that doesn’t grow in everyone’s garden, so harvest it while you have the chance.

Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – July 22)

There is no room for lazy thinking or careless communication, so express yourself with authority or keep your thoughts to yourself. Although a lack of planning and commitment may put control in someone else’s hands, the nurturing Cancer Full Moon in your sign reminds you to consider your own needs before trying to meet the expectations of others. Making the satisfaction of a lover, friend or coworker your top priority will only leave you in second place. You can’t pour from an empty cup; take care of yourself first.

Leo Horoscope (July 23 – Aug. 22)

You are free to choose what to share when you are ready because no one can require you to bare your heart unless you are willing. The contemplative Cancer Full Moon falls in your 12th House of Secrets, temporarily alleviating pressure as you realize that your feelings belong to you and you alone. Remember, your relationships are not separate from your identity, your fears and your hopes. Regardless of how much you disclose, recognize others as mirrors of your soul.

Virgo Horoscope (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22)

Rather than giving into your impulses, do what you Virgos do best: analyze new projects and activities to weed out those that will require more effort than you originally anticipated. Fortunately, your friends and colleagues will show up with the emotional support you need while the Cancer Full Moon brightens your 11th House of Community. Instead of forging ahead on your own or just struggling to quietly maintain your current vision, turn to dependable allies who can help to make your work more manageable. Roman poet Ovid wrote, “The burden becomes light that is shared by love.”

Libra Horoscope (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

You may believe that your reputation is at stake when the emotionally protective Cancer Full Moon shines in your 10th House of Status. However, a power struggle could upset the harmony at work or at home, unless you possess the wisdom to face the issue without stirring further conflict. Your clever-yet-restrained response can alleviate unexpressed tensions, allowing everyone involved to find much-needed balance. The Dalai Lama teaches, “An open heart is an open mind.”

Scorpio Horoscope (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

Don’t discount the value of the lessons you learn from your life experiences, even if you’re feeling insecure about a lack of academic credentials. Verbose Mercury speaks with conviction when it enters earthy Capricorn but the importance of education is underscored by the Cancer Full Moon’s presence in your 9th House of Higher Truth. Be diligent in your pursuit of knowledge and purposeful in your behavior. If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.

Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

You enjoy talking about your fantasies as if they’re already real, yet you grow more serious when mental Mercury marches into methodical Capricorn. Nevertheless, an emotional crisis tests your common sense when the Cancer Full Moon washes over your 8th House of Deep Sharing. This lunation is a not-so-gentle reminder to consider the cost of your relationships and the potential return for your investment. Focusing on your long-term goals helps you turn a current situation into a lasting treasure.

Capricorn Horoscope (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

Relationship issues come to the forefront as the Cancer Full Moon nurtures your 7th House of Partnerships. Although you try to remain cool and unemotional, it’s difficult to suppress your desires. You may overstate your needs while the Sun and Moon are squaring excessive Jupiter. In fact, you can convince yourself of nearly anything to justify what you want. Don’t fall prey to your own enthusiasm or you’ll wear everyone out. Increase your chances of finding satisfaction by mutually agreeing to a sustainable plan and sticking to it.

Aquarius Horoscope (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

You may not be in the spotlight but you surely will be recognized for your efforts behind the scenes. The cautious Cancer Full Moon activates your 6th House of Work, reminding you of the emotional security you gain from maintaining regularity in your daily routine and performing your job well. However, this lunation foments restlessness and maybe even chaos in your world. Thankfully, stable Saturn supplies a modicum of reason to prevent things from going completely off the rails. President Theodore Roosevelt said, “With self-discipline most anything is possible.”

Pisces Horoscope (Feb. 19 – March 20)

Conversations with friends and colleagues are teeming with useful ideas. Luckily, your ability to express and understand complex concepts benefits from an integration of fact and philosophy. Nevertheless, feelings flow freely when the sentimental Cancer Full Moon floods your 5th House of Love and Creativity, bringing hopes of romance to fruition. Your need for affection produces waves of emotion that can erode the walls of logic you built to protect your vulnerability. Give people a slice of your heart rather than a piece of your mind.

Relationships in Rooster Year

Tips for Mending Wounds, Finding Harmony

Relationships will take center stage in the Chinese Rooster Year officially beginning January 28. The build-up to that dynamic is under way now, impacting both personal relationships and relationships between citizens and the power elite. A key example is in the US, where a new leadership is preparing to take power January 20 – stirring unprecedented uncertainty and unrest. This indeed is a unique time for all of us to be alive. Continue reading to find out what this means for your personal relationships and your experience relating to the outside world.

What’s Different Now

For years we have been in the midst of a revolution in how humans relate to one another. Leading up to 2017, however, new levels were reached in the ascension process as humanity’s awakening accelerated and brought to the surface more of the issues hidden away in the closet.

The light has been shining incrementally brighter on humanity’s shadow side.

One example: the divisive US elections in 2016 unveiled a plethora of deeply-rooted hate. As this energy emerged from the shadows and played out, very old wounds resurfaced.

As we begin 2017, wounds need mending and the shadow elements now in the light must be addressed. For all of us, no matter where we live, this is an opportunity to reflect on our own shadow elements that prevent us from being as loving and kind as we want to be. Everyone has these; it’s not just the crazy world showing us its shadow.

Your Personal Relationships

For your personal relationships, the Rooster Year energies will be catalyzing deeper levels of unresolved issues. That includes things you already know about, and perhaps also “new” issues arising because of past life patterns in your DNA. It’s common in these times to have unresolved past life themes surface in current relationships. When they show up, they can seem new, but in fact they are ancient.

Yin Fire Rooster Year & Relationships

It will be a Yin Fire Rooster Year, carrying potentials for nervous tensions and explosive dynamics as well as innovative solutions and rebirths.

Relationship mastery in such a year can mean a huge new beginning with your partner – almost like rewriting the script you came together with. However your relationship was before, it can evolve into a more enlightened dynamic.

Tip: it’s highly recommended that you explore and heal whatever comes up with your partner this year. Do this even if you are on the verge of a break up. The goal should be to complete the learning from this relationship and bring it to a more enlightened state. Then, if you still want to end things, you can do so in the highest way – without redos and without needing to again encounter that person or someone like him or her to finish the lesson.

Understanding the DNA Level

Here’s a way to better understand the DNA level of your current relationships.

I recommend a long view of your relationships. You are on a path of accelerated awakening. Most likely you aren’t the same being now that you were a few years back. With each stage of you spiritual growth, you are able to access new levels of awareness. It’s like your energy container is larger.

This means that as you enter a new level of awareness, you as a soul are more able to address your hidden parts that need healing. They were there all along, but they don’t surface all at once. Therefore, when you enter a new cycle, issues you didn’t even know you had can get triggered.

Consider that the person you are having a squabble with has been with you in other key lifetimes, and that there is an important reason for him or her showing up again now. In my DNA intuitive healing work with clients, I see such connections often. To heal what’s going on now, it helps to connect the dots with the past and get the big picture. Resolution in the present also happens when we can see and clear past life situations still in the DNA. These must be healed in the DNA at their past life root level in order to change the present. I’m grateful for the ability to do this work and help in this way.

Tips for Mending Wounds, Finding Harmony

Start with You

Improve your relationships with others by being a better friend to yourself. Don’t be stingy. You deserve your own love and care. Ever told yourself you would go to the ends of the Earth to help someone you love? Would you do the same for yourself?

Decide now that you will initiate and maintain a healthy level of self-care in 2017. Your self-love in action – through improved self-care – changes how you feel about being alive and allows you to be a helpful force in the world.

RX for Relationships with Others

Look beyond surface appearances and be willing to go to a deeper place to explore obstacles and find solutions. If some issue continues to reappear, think of it as a gift of awareness, showing you that there is a deeper level to investigate.

The energies of 2017 will support your deeper look at relationships. Don’t be surprised if on some days you feel dissatisfied with how things are in a key relationship. This could lead to a rethinking of situations you regret. Do your best to let go of the past. You can’t change what happened that soured your relationship. You can, however, consciously choose to learn from it and be more loving going forward.

Good relationships don’t just happen. They are consciously energized into being and tended regularly to remain alive and thriving.

When you love yourself or someone else, you allow space. This includes moments of relaxation and quiet, allowing for the processing of conversations, thoughts, and emotions. A relationship is not a race – give things time.

Seeing Humanity Through Spirit’s Eyes

As you interact with the outside world and observe the dark side of humanity, factor in the big picture. Look for the light in others and find more peace living in this world. No one is all bad. At the core of all beings is light and the potential for enlightenment.

Trust that wake up calls are going to all of humanity in these moments. This includes those who have amnesia about their own light. These people are unconscious to their true selves or they would not do what they are doing. Forgive them for their ignorance.

Know that the universe has a way of energetically balancing the scales. Even the most hateful dictators will at some time in the future respond to spirit’s wake up call. Hold the space for them to do this, trusting that goodness does prevail.

Be among those who choose love and kindness, each and every day. Do not allow the negativity of the world to extinguish your experience of hope. Remember that at the core of your being, you are hopeful and filled with light. Allow that light to guide you forward.

Decide now to actively commit yourself to your divine changemaker path in 2017. Invite spirit to show you what this means on a daily basis. Ask to be directed to the people, causes, courses, inner work, and situations that help you to fulfill your role.

Compitalia/The Lares?St. Distaff’s Day

Roman festival of Compitalia celebrates the household gods, the Lares. On St. Distaff’s Day, name after a sanctified took rather than an individual, women would resum their spinning after Yule. The day is sacred to the chief goddess of Old England, Frigg whose followers were called the Freefolk. Although she is associated with the distaff, not all areas of life under her guidance are about work:

Partly work and partly play,
Ye must on Saint. Distaff’s Day.

Thursday is the day of the planet Jupiter, dedicated to Thunor(Thor), God of thunder and agricultural work. His parallels in various European traditions are Zeus, Taranis, Perun, Perkunas and St. Olaf. The faith of the Northern Tradition holds Thursday sacred, just as Islam reveres Friday, Judaism the Sabbath(calculated from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday), and Christianity, Sunday. This is why almost all adages about Thursday are positive, such as “Thursday’s child has far to go,” “Sneeze on Thursday, something better,” or “Cut nails on Thursday for wealth.” Thursday rules controlled optimism, energetic growth, physical well-being and material success.

Wolves-The Howling LessonToday is Thursday, January 12th, We Celebrate….

Hindu Solstice (India)
GANGA

Themes: Cleansing; Health; Mercy

Symbols: Water; Yellow-colored Items

About Ganga: As the Hindu goddess of the river Ganges, Ganga represents purification, wellness, and benevolence in the new year. Legend has it Ganga came to earth upon hearing the cries of people who were dying from drought. Shiva divided Ganga into seven streams so she would not flood the earth upon her arrival. Part of this stream remained in the heavens as the Milky Way, and the rest flows through India as the river Ganges, where the goddess lives.

The Howling Lesson

Today is Thursday, January 12th, We Celebrate….
To Do Today: In India, people gather on the river Ganges on this day and bathe in the waters for health, protection, and forgiveness from ten sins. They welcome spring’s approach during this festival by wearing yellow clothing and coloring food, like rice, with saffron. To adapt this tradition and prompt Ganga’s blessings, wear any yellow-toned clothing or jewelry today, light a yellow candle, carry a yellow-toned stone (like citrine), and/or eat rice as part of any meal. Adapt your shower, tap, bath, hose, or lawn sprinkler to substitute for the river Ganges. As you stand beneath the water, visualize any figurative dirt being washed away down the drain.

Dance, sing, play, drum, stay awake all night and celebrate the full moon outside, under the starry sky. The fullness of the moon reflects the fullness of the power and spiritual strength that are available to us. When the valleys of the emotional unknown are realized visibly, they become available for the use of the aware person. The full moon brings enlightenment. The face of the truth is exposed – the truth whose light bursts forth fully now through the darkness.

This is the time to look inward, to survey your actions, feelings, and emotions of the preceding days, and discover the irrelevant subjects or criticisms you allowed to distract you and divert you from your main aim.

Focus and muster your full strength.

This is the time to make wishes for peace, prosperity, growth, love, success, harmony…

Speak to the big moon and bring the realization of your wishes down to earth with the help of its light.
