Wait Goddess

Wait Goddess.
All the people will honor you one day.
They will sing, dance, make pledges to You.
Tho now rage rules,
Your peace will be Law
And within that circle life will flourish
As we have only dreamed.

Blessed are we who live now,
Whether on great plains or beside salted sea,
Our confidence will not be in vain.
For the Earth holds the mountains in their place
And quiets the screaming storm.

Listen Goddess, for even now the chant begins.
In careful light of dawn,
And dusk’s shifting gloom, the melody rides.

Enough of water, enough of grain
fruitful furrows and pastures dressed with flocks,
All from the Goddess

Wait Goddess,
For the song of thanksgiving will come.
