Sunday’s Witchery

Sunday’s Witchery
Those ambitious, successful spells and charms will be heightened by working on the day of the week that has the planetary influence of the sun. So light those sunny candles, wear some luminous colors, and break out the gold jewelry! Bake up some cinnamon rolls or low-fat cinnamon muffins for an enchanting family breakfast. Take an orange with you to eat at lunch today. Try using a little magickal aromatherapy and burn some cinnamon-scented incense to encourage success and wealth today. Make the talisman to keep your solar magick with you. Sprinkle some dried marigold petals around your house-or across the threshold-to pull triumph and protection toward you and your family.
Get outside and tip up your face to the sun. Take a walk outside, and soak up some sunshine! Acknowledge the power of Sunna or Helios as they blaze across the sky and bring courage and motivation into your life. Sit outside at sunrise on a Sunday morning and bask in its warm, rosy-golden glow Acknowledge Brigid as the inner, creative spark of imagination and inspiration. She can help these gifts burn brightly within your own soul. Use your imagination and create your own brand of witchery and magick. Here comes the sun, and it’s your turn to shine!

Planet Associated With Sunday – The Sun

Sunday
Sunday
Ruler: Sun
Colors: Gold or yellow
Power Hours: Sunrise and sunset.
Key Words: Love, happiness, health, wealth
It is easy to spot the ruler of this day by its name. Sunday is the day of the sun. Community work, volunteer services, exercise, outdoor sports, buying, selling, speculating, meeting people, anything involving groups, running fairs and raffles, growing crops and taking care of all health matters fall under the influence of the Sun. With all this activity and the brightness of the sun, it’s easy to see why the child that is born on the Sabbath day is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
Michael is the primary angel of Sunday but each hour of this day also has it’s secondary angel. These angels are Michael (first hour), Anael (second hour), Raphael (third hour), Gabril (fourth hour), Cassiel (fifth hour), Sachiel (sixth hour), Samael (seventh hour), Michael (eighth hour), Anael (ninth hour), Raphael (tenth hour), Gabriel (eleventh hour), and Cassiel twelfth hour). Notice some of the angels do double duty this day.
On Sundays, (unless you are invoking a specific angelic energy) the hour of sunrise will be the most powerful time to work, especially if you want to infuse energy into your work. Sunset is the second best time and is favored when you need to calm down a situation. Check the local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.

Vennsian Vervain
The herb vervain shares it planetary governor with this day. Indeed, the Romans named it Veneris herba. Its oil is said to be an aphrodisiac(even when worn as an amulet in a miniature container), which is why vervain was carried by Roman brides and was once a vital ingredient in love philters. It is most often used today to banish feelings of anxiety, to stimulate the liver, and to increase breastfeeding mothers’ milk flow(note that it should be avoided in pregnancy, however).
Crystallize Violets
Crystallize violets, Venus’s flowers, by cooking 1 lb of sugar with 3 1/2 fl. oz. water until the mixture starts to harden. Add 5 oz freshly picked violets and stir gently over a high heat until the syrup dries around the flowers. Transfer to an airtight container and store until required for decoration.

St. Mark’s Eve
The eve of St. Mark’s Day is one of the traditional nights for divining the future. Any young woman wishing to see her future love should fast from sunset and then during the night make and bake a cake containing an eggshellful of salt, wheat meal and barley meal. Then she should open the door of her dwelling place. Her future lover should come in and turn the cake.

Nature Is My Church

May The Goddess Bless You On This Beautiful & Glorious Sunday She Has Given Us!
I AM A WITCH!
When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a witch.
When I stand up for those I love, they call me a witch.
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts, or do things my own way, they call me a witch.
Being a witch entails raising my children to be strong people
Who have a solid sense of personal and social responsibility,
Who are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in
And, who love and respect themselves for the beautiful beings they are.
Being a witch means that I am free to be the wonderful creature I am,
With all my own intricacies, contradictions, quirks and beauty.
Being a witch means I won’t compromise what’s in my heart.
It means I live my life MY way. It means I won’t allow anyone to step on me.
When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak up against it, I am defined as a witch.
The same thing happens when I take time for myself instead of being everyone else’s maid or when I act a little selfish.
I am proud to be a witch! It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won’t become anyone else’s idea of what they think I “should” be.
I am outspoken, opinionated and determined.
By Goddess, I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!
So, try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me. You won’t succeed.
And if that makes me a witch, so be it. I embrace the title and am proud to bear it. I love this, I can call myself a witch now and not feel bad about it!

Pink Moon upon us!

Considering that we live on planet Earth, today marks a momentous occasion – an occasion so significant that even the moon is celebrating. It’s Earth Day and tonight’s full moon will be specially shining in the nighttime sky to prove it.
Every April, the moon reveals its stellar beauty in the form of a Pink Moon. Sadly, this doesn’t mean that the moon turns rosy. It instead signifies that a micro- or mini-moon will be dancing across the inky black sky. This type of moon appears as it sounds, emerging smaller than normal because tonight’s moon will reach apogee: The furthest point from the Earth.
The Farmers’ Almanac reports that this moon was named after the herb moss pink (also known as wild ground phlox), since this plant is one of the first to blossom during springtime. The Pink Moon is also referred to as the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, Egg Moon, and the Full Fish Moon. The latter two monikers were established because coastal tribes witnessed shad swim upstream to lay their eggs when this moon revealed itself. With this in mind, the Pink Moon also represents fertility in many circles.
Mystically speaking, SpringWolf’s Pagan’s Path suggests that we take this time to work on our relationships and to solve any problems that may be affecting this area of our lives. In general,Witchipedia reveals that if you begin a new business venture on the day of a full moon, it will bring you good luck. However, you may also want to consume extra Vitamin C today because being sick whilst the full moon glows can mean that you’ll be sick for quite some time.
Though the mini-moon began its nighttime reign last night, it can be spotted for around three days. You can also watch this phenomenon on Slooh’s website tonight, starting at 8pm EST. Either way, Happy Earth Day! We hope all you moon mavens out there have your telescopes ready!

Till tomorrow, my sweets…..
