The Goddess Companion

In fall Freya left us
traveling southward.
Now she returns again,
bringing soft words.
Out of her golden hair
spring flowers fall
tumbling like melodies,
sounding the call.
Chaste through the winter
women now pine,
wanting their lovers home
sharing the wine.
~Scandinavian Song To The Goddess Of Spring
In northern lands, the spring Goddess was embodied by the sun. During the winter, she retreated southward, so that by midwinter she rose only briefly each day, setting hastily and leaving the lands in cold and dark. But as spring approaches, she stays longer and longer each day, shedding warmth on her people. As the equinox nears, bringing balance between light and dark, the sun brings back growth and seasonal change.
The ancient Scandinavians recognized that the human reaction to increasing daylight was return of interest in connecting with others – through lust as well as through love. They acknowledged, as did many other people, the way the sap rises in our bodies as well as in the trees and plants around us. Celebrating the fruitfulness of our womanly bodies is a way to celebrate the Goddess. And at no time is her energy stronger than in early spring.

Spell Of The Day – Save-A-Fortune Spell

Spell Of The Day – Save-A-Fortune Spell

To save for a trip to a foreign land, collect coins from foreign countries – as many from the ones you want to visit as possible.
Infuse the coins with a money scent such as patchouli. Place them on a picture of a land you want to visit, and say:
With these coins from foreign shores
From thee, Goddess, I implore.
Money multiply in this space.
Take me to this sacred place!
Leave this on an altar you will pass often. Every now and then add another coin to your altar, repeat the spell and wait
for your trip savings to expand.

Goddess Of The Day: HERA

Goddess Of The Day:  HERA
Daedala (Greece)
Themes: Love; Romance; Forgiveness; Humor
Symbols: Oak; Myrrh; Poppy
About Hera: Hera rules the earth, its people, and the hearts of those people. Using passion and creativity, Hera nudges star-crossed lovers together, chaperones trysts, and helps struggling marriages with a case of spring twitterpation!
Legend tells us that Hera refused to return to Zeus’s bed because of a quarrel. Zeus, however, had a plan. He humorously dressed up a wooden figure to look like a bride and declared he was going to marry. When Hera tore off the dummy’s clothes and discovered the ruse, she was so amused and impressed by Zeus’s ingenuity that she forgave him.
To Do Today: Ancient Greeks honored Hera and Zeus’s reconciliation today, often in the company of old oak trees. Small pieces of fallen wood are collected to symbolize the divinities, then burned on the ritual fire to keep love warm. To mirror this custom, find a fallen branch and burn a small part of it as an offering to Hera. Keep the rest to use as a goddess image year-round, burning a few slivers whenever love needs encouragement.
Present someone you love or admire with a poppy today to symbolically bestow Hera’s blessings on your relationship. If you have a loved one away from home, burn some myrrh incense in front of their picture so Hera can watch over them and keep that connection strong.

Greetings on the 10th day of March with the theme of Balance.

Greetings on the 10th day of March with the theme of Balance.
This is a Receiving/Accepting Affirmation in the second week of the month.
Make this a balanced day!

I allow balance to flow through me and to act as me.

Today’s affirmation challenges us to BECOME balance, to BE balance.  As
balance flows through us, we become familiar with its vibration.  In order
for something to “act as” us, we must become it.  We must BE what we
desire.  Balance is not something outside ourselves, but inside.  Other
people’s perceptions of our sense of balance may be interesting
information (worthy of an appropriate amount of our attention as a piece
of data), yet our own perceptions about balance are essential for our
health and satisfaction.

To enhance your process as you say or work with today’s affirmation,
consider these questions.  As you FEEL balance flow through you, what does
it feel like?  As you SEE balance flow through you, what does it look
like?  As you SENSE balance flow through you, what do you sense?  As you
LISTEN to the sounds of balance, what do you hear?  As you VIBRATE to
balance, what do you become?  These questions expand your consciousness
about balance so that you can more easily become at one with it.

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for 3/10

Today’s I Ching Hexagram for Everyone:

61: Centering in Truth

Thursday, March 10th, 2011

Hexagram 61
General Meaning: Truth involves establishing an aware relationship between your inner core and the circumstances in your life. Centering in truth involves the ability to perceive a fundamental wisdom, reflected within yourself and the people you know.

Truth is transformed into power when you dissolve prejudice and make yourself receptive to the world as it really is. Truth’s power can be a remarkable force indeed — yet is rarer than generally imagined. It can be maintained only by cultivating a genuine openness to things as they are — a willingness to see, rather than merely look.

Whenever your inner life is clouded, your influence in the world is under a shadow. If you are fearful, you will be attacked; if you cloak genuine mysteries in dogma, opportunities for new insight will be lost. If you vacillate in upholding your principles, you will be tested. Yet, when you are firm and strong, the power of truth can break through even the most stubborn minds.

In any debate, the power to perceive the truth in the other side’s argument is essential to achieving success. It is possible to influence even the most difficult people, or improve the most difficult circumstance, through the power of universal truth — for unvarnished truth is something to which all things naturally respond. Get in touch with the part of yourself that is aware of this universal force. Cultivate this inner resource, and you will become adept at using it to bond with others to support a common purpose.

Today’s Tarot Card for 3/10

Today’s Tarot Card for Everyone:

This Tarot Deck: Goddess

General Meaning: What has traditionally been known as the Strength card represents Nature which, however wild in its primal form, is tamed by our subtler, finer (feminine, interior) self. The will and passion of our instinctive nature does not need to be broken, but refined and brought to consciousness — so that all levels of Creation, inner and outer, may come into harmony.

The feminine soul-force contains a persuasive power that can nurture and induce cooperation from others, stilling disruptive energies by harmonizing differences in the spirit of collective good will.

Daily Horoscopes for 3/10

General Daily Horoscope

Sweet Venus and lucky Jupiter form a supportive sextile today, gracing us with visions of love and prosperity. But we may attempt to avoid hard work, as the sensual Taurus Moon reflects our need for pleasure. However, acknowledging limits is tricky now since our logic tells us that if a little feels good, a lot will be even better. Action wins out over laziness because Mercury and Jupiter in impetuous Aries encourage us toward impulsive behavior.

Aries Horoscope
Aries Horoscope (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

You are feeling pretty good about yourself now, but someone might say something that tugs on your conscience. Although you may not have any reason to feel guilty, you dislike being misunderstood. Naturally, you want to clarify your position before moving on. Don’t put this off; attend to any unresolved issue as quickly as you can, so you are ready for the crazy times ahead.

Taurus Horoscope
Taurus Horoscope (Apr 20 – May 20)

The Moon is in your sign, strengthening your feelings and raising your spirits. Additionally, your key planet Venus is receiving an energetic boost from optimistic Jupiter, encouraging you to feel even better about yourself and those you love. This is no time to be stubborn; accept recognition and support from others, even if you didn’t ask for it. It’s your turn to shine.

Gemini Horoscope
Gemini Horoscope (May 21 – Jun 20)

You might feel as if you’re on a roll now. Or, perhaps, it seems like you should be getting ready for something really big. You can feel the changes coming, even if you’re still trying to hold yourself back. However, it’s not smart to focus on your worries or fears. Today’s thoughts shape tomorrow, so visualize the amazing opportunities in front of you. Tie up any loose ends from your past because you don’t want anything to get in the way of your future.

Cancer Horoscope
Cancer Horoscope (June 21 – Jul 22)

Even if your life seems to be unfolding as planned, you still aren’t sure that you should trust the good news. Although you don’t want to be hurt by what you discover now, you might overcompensate today by gathering all the information you can find. Unfortunately, you don’t need any more data; just make a choice and then take a few healthy steps in the direction you want to go.

Leo Horoscope
Leo Horoscope (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Others come to your rescue just in the nick of time, even if you committed to more than you can deliver. Fortunately, they are bringing you more than just good news; your friends and co-workers are also willing to volunteer a fair amount of hard work. Don’t be greedy about potential profit or recognition since it’s karmically crucial to share the rewards with anyone who contributes to your success.

Virgo Horoscope
Virgo Horoscope (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You feel like you’re losing control of your life today, even if you worked hard to put everything in order. It sounds like it’s a smart idea to prioritize your goals and then make a list of the steps needed to reach them. Unfortunately, your plans aren’t all that useful now because so much appears to be occurring at once and there’s no time for detailed analysis. Let go and trust your intuition; acting on your feelings will bring you as much success as any other strategy now.

Libra Horoscope
Libra Horoscope (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

You are able to see the beauty in everyone today as aesthetically pleasing Venus harmonizes with lucky Jupiter in your 7th House of Partners. You might receive a raise or find pleasure in love. Your optimism is increasing now, along with your income potential. Don’t get greedy and expect too much. Nevertheless, rest assured that the winds of change are blowing in a positive direction.

Scorpio Horoscope
Scorpio Horoscope (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

If you overreact to someone today, you could miss an opportunity to share an amazing experience with a close friend. There is little doubt that this is a strange day, but your apprehension need not detract from the beauty that you perceive around you now. Instead of looking for depth and intensity, keep it light and easy so you can relax and enjoy yourself.

Sagittarius Horoscope
Sagittarius Horoscope (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

You might be extra busy today, especially if you have lots of loose ends to tie up prior to going out and having fun. It doesn’t matter if you need to return to work afterward; you still should be able to make time to play later in the afternoon or evening. However, don’t procrastinate; it’s best to get the hardest jobs out of the way at the beginning of the day.

Capricorn Horoscope
Capricorn Horoscope (Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Lucky Jupiter harmonizes with Venus in your 2nd House of Money today. You could be up for a raise or, perhaps, you simply receive an appreciative “thank you” from someone at work. Naturally, cash would be better, but acknowledgment from your boss is a good deal, too. However, you need to accept the fact that your contribution is of value. Don’t be shy; too much doubt can cause you to miss a chance for dramatic change in your life.

Aquarius Horoscope
Aquarius Horoscope (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

You believe you are right on target today, yet your optimism may seem overwhelming to everyone else. Although you are the epitome of the power of positive thinking now, someone may try to rain on your parade. There’s no need to give away your power. Being sensitive in your approach enables you to make room for others who are struggling to hold their position, too.

Pisces Horoscope
Pisces Horoscope (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You may be lost in a hazy dream world and it’s a good idea to pinch yourself a few times today just to ascertain that you are actually awake. Although you probably have good cause for optimism, it’s important to maintain a sense of reality or you might set yourself up for disappointment later on. Avoiding extremes can be a difficult task unless you have someone in your life that you trust enough to use as a sounding board. But if you ask for feedback, make sure you listen to it.

Earth Thought for the Day

Earth Thought for the Day

“Men no longer love the soil.
Landowners sell it, lease it, divide it into shares,
prostitute it, bargain with it
and treat it as an object of speculation.
Farmers torture it, violate it, exhaust it
and sacrifice it with their impatient desire for gain.
They never become one with it.”

Earth Thought For the Day

Long, long ago, the world slept in the arms of the dark void. From this place of nothingness, Spirit drew together and created Our Lady of Infinite Love.

The Lady danced among the heavens, Her feetbeating out the rythmn of all creation. Sparks of light catapaulted from Her hair, giving birth to the stars and planets. As She twirled, these heavenly bodies began to move with Her in the divine symphony of the universe. When Her dancing quickened She formed the seas and mountains of Earth. She chanted words of love and joy, and as these sounds fell to the Earth, the trees and flowers were born.

From the pure, white light of Her breath came the colors of the universe, turning all things to vibrant beauty. from the bubbling laughter in Her throat sprang the sounds of the pristine running water of the streams, the gentle lapping vibrations of the lake, and the roaring screams of the oceans. Her tears of joy became the rains of our survival.

When Her dancing slowed and She sought a companion to share the wonders of the world, Spirit created The Lord as Her lifemate and companion. Because She so loved the Earth, Spirit made Her companion half spirit, half animal, so that together the Lord and Lady could populate our planet. The Lord’s power moves through her and She showers the Earth and all upon it with Her blessings. Together, the Lord and Lady gave birth to the birds, animals, fishes, and people of our world. To protect and guide the humans, the Lord and Lady created the angels and power spirits. These energies walk with us always, though we may not often see them. Their speech creates a tapestry of positve energy, from which we draw strength.

To each bird the Lady gave a magic song, and to each animal the Lord bestowed the instinct to survive.

The Lord is the master of the animal and plant kingdoms, and therefore wears the antlers of a stag crowning His great head. This aspect of half man, half animal shows His joy in both the human and animal creations of the Spirit.

As the humans began to grow and prosper, the Lord and Lady saw a need for healers among them. And so they drew forth energy from the realm of angels, the realm of the power animals, and the realm of the humans to create the Witches. The Witches brought with them the wisdom of the Lord and Lady, the ability to heal, and the art of magic. The Lady taught the Witches how to cast a magic circle and talk to Spirit, and the Lord taught the Witches how to communicate with the energies of air, fire, earth, and water, and commune with the animal and plant kingdoms.

At first, the humans accepted the Witches and treated them fairly; but because the Witches are different, humans began to fear the Wise Ones of the Lord and Lady, thus the Witches became the Hidden Children, conducting their rites of positive energy in secret lest they risk capture and death at the hands of uneducated humans.

As the world grew darker with ignorance and hate of human creation, The Lady took the body of the Moon to represent the gentle light of her perfect peace, and the Lord took the vibrant rays of the Sun as his symbol of strength in perfect love. And once a month, when the Moon is full, the Witches celebrate and remember the blessings our Mother has bestowed upon us.

We call forth Her energy to help us take care of ourselves, our families, our planet, and our friends. Four times a year the Witches celebrate the festivals of fire and honor the Lord and His love for us – these are called the cross-quarters. At the four quarters of the seasons, the Witches honor the cycle of life and the gifts of the Earth with festivals to both the Lord and Lady – signifying the balance they have brought us – the Equinoxes and the Solstices.

The Lady has many names – Isis, Astarte, Bride, Diana, Aradia, Hecate – and the Lady walks within and beside each woman of every race.

The Lord has many faces, from the strong Cernunnos to the delightful Pan. He guards and guides us and resides in each man of every race.

When thunder roars in the heavens, and lightning cracks from the ground, the Lord and Lady dance the divine myth of creation so that we may remember them and know that we are never alone.

When the Sun rises each morning, we bask in the joy of His love for us, and when the Moon moves through Her phases, we understand the cycle of birth, growth, death, and rebirth.

When it is our time, the Witches enter the Summerland. From the Spirit that moves and flows through the Lord and Lady we continue to learn the mysticism of the Universe so that we may return, life after life, to serve our brothers and sisters.

In each lifetime, Spirit guides us through learning experiences, preparing us along the way for our individual missions. Sometimes we are born among our own kind, and in other instances we must seek out our spiritual family. Many of us do not remeber our chosen path until we reach adulthood, but others know instinctively of their heritage from the time they form their own thoughts.

We are the Witches, the representation of the growth of wisdom on our planet. We are the Hidden Children, back from the dead. We are the people, the power, the change, and we have incarnated in every race and every culture. We are the angels of Earth.
