Full Moon Ritual

 

The full and new moon rites are a celebration of the moon and Her cycles, as well as a celebration of us.

What you will need:

Your tools

Silver or white candle

White altar candle

A view or picture of the moon

 

Setup:

Place the silver or white candle next to your altar candle.

Position your altar so that you can see the moon.

Perform a meditation.

Cast your circle.

Raise your arms over your head, palms up, while saying:

“OH GREAT MOON,I AM HERE BEFORE YOU,IN YOUR LOVING GRACE.”

Take the cauldron of earth hold it toward the moon and say:

“OH GREAT MOON,BLESS THIS EARTH.”

Take the silver or white candle and place it in the cauldron. Light it and say:

“OH GREAT MOON,HEAR ME.””OH GREAT MOON,THEE I ADORE,I HONOR,I RESPECT.”

Kneel and say:

“I HONOR YOU ON THIS SPEACIAL NIGHT.””HEAR ME. BLESSED BE.”

Now close your circle. Point your athame down and release while saying:

“MAY THIS ENERGY BE USED BY OTHER ON THEIR PATH.” “SO MOTE IT BE.”

Let the silver or white candle burn itself out.If you decide to do a spell, perform it before closing the circle and point your athame up instead of down. Then close your circle.

The problem here is that this aspect begins yet another long, void lunar cycle that lasts until Friday November 30 at 5:56AM PST. This 36+ hour void lunar whopper is longer than last weekend’s 35-hour extravaganza. Completing odd jobs and old projects is more sensible than promoting innovative enterprises that haven’t been reliably tested so far.

On the night of the Full Moon, anoint a purple candle with vanilla oil. While anointing, raise energy and focus it into the candle. See it glow with magick. Light the candle and go outside or near a window where you can see the moon. Place the candle on the ground or windowsill. Reach your arms out to the moon and say:

“I ask for Your Power on this night,
By the Powers of the Stars above me,
So Mote It Be.”

Visualize your arms and hands soaking up the Powers of the Moon and into your body. Put out the candle and leave it on your altar overnight. The next morning, repeat the spell with this chant:

“Oh, dear Lord of Sky and Sea,
Lead Your Magick unto me,
By soil, wind, flame, and sea,
This is my will,
So Mote It Be.”

Soak up the Powers of the Sun. Go to your altar and light the purple candle from the night before and meditate on it until it burns out.

Your Daily Cosmic Calendar for November 24th

You almost need to consider this 24-hour time-period like an extra day in the calendar year (something that will happen again on November 29) due to the entire day being under the challenging aegis of a void-of-course Moon vibration. Today’s lunar void has the qualities of fiery Aries stamped upon it — meaning the desire is to be a leader, a mover-and-shaker in business or a trend-setter in arts, crafts and hobbies. However, the Moon being in a somewhat compromised position causes some inherent weaknesses to possibly occur that don’t allow the full measure of success to manifest.  One solution is to scale back your overall expectations. This makes sense because Juno in Sagittarius opposes Vesta in Gemini (1:05PM PST) — an asteroid tug of war on either side of the Earth that can equate with increased stress and strain, particularly for women and regarding primary partnerships.  Even an apparently supportive, 60-degree link from Mars to Saturn (2:52PM PST) doesn’t tend to be a crowd-pleaser anyway. It is more likely to equate with a rising sense of doubt and pessimism that you will want to combat by deliberately injecting some humor and joy into the day’s proceedings. Overall, steer clear of major decision-making, legal matters, and agreeing to long-term commitments.
