Venus at the Edge

Explanation: As its June 6 2012 transit begins Earth’s sister planet crosses the edge of the Sun in this stunning view from the Hinode spacecraft. The timing of limb crossings during the rare transits was used historically to triangulate the distance to Venus and determine a value for the Earth-Sun distance called the astronomical unit. Still, modern space-based views like this one show the event against an evocative backdrop of the turbulent solar surface with prominences lofted above the Sun’s edge by twisting magnetic fields. Remarkably, the thin ring of light seen surrounding the planet’s dark silhouette is sunlight refracted by Venus’ thick atmosphere.

There’s a journey from head to heart this weekend, starting on Friday with the brainy Aquarius Moon providing the distance needed to see beyond emotions to gain a more objective picture of relationships. Happily, an imaginative little Mercury-Neptune trine adds creativity to communication and spurs romantic dreams.
There’s a shift in the lunar winds with the Moon’s entry into supersensitive Pisces on Saturday afternoon. This emotionally enveloping sign is most comfortable in the realms of dreams, intuition and spirituality. The Moon’s conjunction with surreal Neptune makes the night perfect for indulging fantasies. Escaping reality may limit good judgment and common sense, but who cares about practicalities when we’re dancing with abandon and loving without limits. However, skin is thinner than usual now, increasing vulnerability and, for some, uncertainty. But this is not the time to worry about tomorrow or even the realities of the moment. Compassion, connection and communion are more important now than whatever the future might bring.
Sunday continues this sweet trend of flowing with feelings. It doesn’t matter who we’re with or what we do as long as we are kind and forgiving. There are no scores to settle or any serious issues to address at this time. Tenderly accompanying someone in his or her moment of need dissolves boundaries and invites intimacy without expectation. There’s no finer gift than the one we receive when we open our hearts to others.

General Meaning:    What has traditionally been known as the Moon card refers to a deep state of sensitivity and imaginative impressionability, developed within a womb of deep relaxation. Here we dream and go into trance, have visions and receive insights, wash in and out with the psychic tides, and experience deep mystical and/or terrifying realities beyond our ordinary senses. The full moon and/or eclipse cycle charted by the Magi (as in some of the earliest Moon card images) exemplify this as a mechanism that Nature uses to expand consciousness.

Taurus

Just 2 days after a lunar eclipse in your financial sector brought things on both the financial and income fronts to a head, a much rarer Venus eclipse falls in your income sector today. Just 6 days before lucky Jupiter is due to return to your income sector, this has the power to bring things on the income front to a turning or tipping point.

Gemini

Things start to heat up on the money front today, with the Moon’s return to your financial sector just as Mercury is preparing to return to your income sector. Over the course of the next 24 hours first your financial instincts and then a smart head for money will kick in, with a need to keep your mind and your options open as they do.

Cancer

Life and your income opportunities in particular is not like a vending machine, when you put effort in and get immediate returns. Sometimes you have to invest and put in a lot of effort on the professional front trusting that when the time is right that the income results will make it all worthwhile.

Leo

A Sagittarius Triplet

Explanation: These three bright nebulae are often featured in telescopic tours of the constellation Sagittarius and the crowded starfields of the central Milky Way. In fact, 18th century cosmic tourist Charles Messier cataloged two of them; M8, the large nebula left of center, and colorful M20 on the right. The third, NGC 6559, is above M8, separated from the larger nebula by a dark dust lane. All three are stellar nurseries about five thousand light-years or so distant. The expansive M8, over a hundred light-years across, is also known as the Lagoon Nebula. M20’s popular moniker is the Trifid. Glowing hydrogen gas creates the dominant red color of the emission nebulae, with contrasting blue hues, most striking in the Trifid, due to dust reflected starlight. This broad skyscape also includes one of Messier’s open star clusters, M21, just above and right of the Trifid.

Cast this spell to rid your space of negativity.

You will need a drum, a bell, and a sage and cedar smudge stick.

During the waning moon, gather your family and friends together for a Spring Cleaning Party. At dusk, smudge the area with the smoke of the sage and cedar smudge stick. Thoroughly extinguish the smudge stick. Draw a magick circle around the area you want to cleanse. Invite in any divine energies that you want to help in your cleaning process.

Beginning at the north point, walk clockwise around the parameter of the area (north, east, south and west) while beating on the drum and have everyone chant together:

Use this spell to gain rapport with the powers of the Moon, Stars, and Planets.

Spread a white altar cloth on your altar after dark. Use a white candle and meditative music. Light the candle and turn on the music. Take several drops complete breaths, in and out. Merge with the Divine with Oneness and say:
