Moon in Aquarius

The Moon is traveling through Aquarius today. Go against the grain. Fight for a cause. Stand up for the underdog.

Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.

The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.

Daily Overview of Your Stars and Planets for Monday, June 4, 2018

The Moon spends the day in the sign of Aquarius, and for most of the day (from 1:11 AM EDT forward) is void and forms no major aspects to major bodies after that point. This can have a “twilight zone” effect. It’s better not to begin new initiatives, and instead, focus on tying up loose ends or developing existing projects. The void Moon makes it difficult for entirely new endeavors to have sticking or staying power. Attraction to all that is new and unusual figures strongly with the Aquarius Moon. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence.

The Moon is void from 1:11 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Pisces the next day, Tuesday, June 5th, at 6:54 AM EDT.

The sky this week for June 4 to June 10

Venus, Neptune, and Saturn are among the sights to spot in the sky this week.
By Richard Talcott

Monday, June 4

Although Saturn won’t reach opposition and peak visibility until late June, observers will be hard-pressed to see it as inferior this week. The ringed planet rises near 10 p.m. local daylight time and appears highest in the south around 3 a.m. Saturn shines at magnitude 0.1 and stands out against the background stars of northern Sagittarius. If you target the planet through binoculars this week, you’ll find it 2.0° northwest of the 5th-magnitude globular star cluster M22 and 3.3° south of the similarly bright open cluster M25. But the beautiful world looks best through a telescope, which reveals its 18″-diameter disk and a stunning ring system that spans 41″ and tilts 26° to our line of sight.
Tuesday, June 5

The Big Dipper’s familiar shape lies high in the northwest on June evenings. The spring sky’s finest binocular double star marks the bend of the Dipper’s handle. Mizar shines at 2nd magnitude, some six times brighter than its 4th-magnitude companion, Alcor. Even though these two are not physically related, they make a fine sight through binoculars. (People with good eyesight often can split the pair without optical aid.) A small telescope reveals Mizar itself as double — and these components do orbit each other.

Mercury reaches superior conjunction at 10 p.m. EDT. This means the innermost planet lies on the opposite side of the Sun from Earth and remains hidden in our star’s glare. It will return to view in the evening sky in about two weeks.

Wednesday, June 6

Last Quarter Moon occurs at 2:32 p.m. EDT. When it rises around 2 a.m. local daylight time tomorrow morning, it will appear slightly less than half-lit. Earth’s only natural satellite then appears against the background stars of northeastern Aquarius.

Thursday, June 7

Jupiter reached opposition and peak visibility about a month ago, and it remains a stunning sight nearly all night. It appears some 30° high in the south-southeast during evening twilight and climbs highest in the south shortly before 11 p.m. local daylight time. Shining at magnitude –2.4, the giant planet is the night sky’s brightest point of light once Venus sets around 11 p.m. Jupiter resides among the background stars of Libra the Scales, 1° north of Zubenelgenubi (Alpha [α] Librae). If you view the gas giant through a telescope tonight, its disk spans 44″ and displays spectacular cloud-top detail. You’ll also see its bright moons put on a nice show. Ganymede lies in Jupiter’s shadow in early evening, but it gradually returns to view between Io and Callisto. At 12:40 a.m. EDT, Io and Callisto appear 25″ apart southeast of the planet. If you watch the space between these moons, you’ll see Ganymede emerge into sunlight starting at 12:43 a.m. It return to full visibility by 1:02 a.m.

Friday, June 8

Venus passes 5° due south (lower left) of 1st-magnitude Pollux this evening. The planet has brightened slightly (to magnitude –4.0) since early in the week, and shines 100 times brighter than the star.

Saturday, June 9

Another comet in the growing crowd of such objects discovered by the Pan-STARRS telescope in Hawaii makes its appearance in June’s morning sky. Comet PANSTARRS (C/2016 M1) currently glows around 9th magnitude within the Teapot asterism of the constellation Sagittarius, and you’ll need a telescope to spot its subtle glow. As a bonus both today and tomorrow, the comet slides about 40′ from the 8th-magnitude globular star cluster M54. Your best views will come from under a dark sky when Sagittarius climbs highest between 2 and 3 a.m. local daylight time.

Sunday, June 10

The conspicuous Summer Triangle asterism dominates the eastern sky in late evening. Vega, the triangle’s brightest member, shines at magnitude 0.0 and stands highest of the three stars. To its lower left lies Deneb; at magnitude 1.3, it is the faintest of the trio. Magnitude 0.8 Altair resides at the bottom right and completes the bright asterism. Despite its name, the Summer Triangle appears prominent from late spring until winter begins.

In the Sky for the Month of June

The planets seem especially busy this month, highlighting both morning and evening skies. Venus reigns as the Evening Star, and points out some interesting sights in Gemini and Cancer during the month. Saturn puts in its best showing of the year, with Jupiter just past its best. And Mars climbs inexorably across the sky, toward its best appearance next month.

June 4: Ophiuchus
The constellaton Ophiuchus is low in the eastern sky on June evenings. Its stars are faint. Under a dark sky, though, they form a pattern that resembles an old coffee pot, which is on its side in early evening, and upright later on.

June 5: Earliest Sunrise
The year’s earliest sunrises in the northern hemisphere occur over the next few days. The date varies by latitude, with southern locations getting that extra sunlight first. The longest day of the year is the summer solstice, June 21.

June 6: Dark Nebulae
Some of the most interesting objects in the constellation Ophiuchus look like dark holes in the sky. Instead, though, they are immense clouds of cold gas and dust. They absorb the light of the stars behind them, so they look almost black.

June 7: Menkent
From the southern latitudes of the United States, the upper half of Centaurus, the centaur, stands due south at nightfall. The brightest star in that part of the constellation is Menkent, the centaur’s shoulder.

June 8: IC 4665
The star cluster IC 4665 is a quarter of the way up the sky as it gets dark. It stands to the lower right of the brightest star of Ophiuchus the serpent-bearer. Under really dark skies, the cluster is barely visible to the unaided eye.

June 9: Serpens
The sky is divided into 88 constellations. One of them is split into two disconnected parts. Serpens, the serpent, consists of a head and a tail. Serpens is in full view in the east and southeast by a couple of hours after sunset.

June 10: Leaping Gazelle
In western culture, the stars of the Big Dipper and those around it form the great bear, Ursa Major. The dipper is his body and tail, and three faint pairs of stars represent his feet. In ancient Arabia, those stars represented the leaps of a gazelle.

COSMIC CALENDAR

June 4, 2018

Anyone familiar with this calendar knows that every so often, very long void lunar cycles put a damper on accomplishing everything on your daily to-do list. The void moon zone that began in Aquarius yesterday remains in effect until tomorrow at 3:55am when the lunar orb enters watery Pisces.

Finishing old business on a high note – while not initiating bold, new plans – is recommended with the moon out of sorts.

While a square between Vesta in Capricorn and Chiron in Aries (2:40am) acts as a reminder to safeguard your valuables while being patient concerning investment planning, healing interests veer on to center stage as the sun forms an inspirational, 72-degree rapport with rainbow-bridge builder Chiron (9:58am).

The moon in parallel formation with King of the Gods Jupiter (1:20pm) is a potential source of hope and faith.

[Note to readers: All times are now calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

I wanted to apologize for not getting the site up-dated yesterday

Message from Jacob:

I promised I would get the site up-dated yesterday like my mother does but I didn’t. I am sorry for that. Just as I started to try to track down all the books she uses, the phone rang. It was the hospital or my uncle calling. It scared me at first, then he told me mom was beginning to wake up. She is in ICU and you can only see her for so many minutes every 4 hours. I dropped everything and went straight to the hospital. But the time I got there, the visiting time was up. I had to wait 2 1/2 more hours to see her but I didn’t care. I have come to decide the Lady A(as you know her) was meant to be the mother I was suppose to have all along. I know that might seem horrible to say about my first mother but Lady A has a loving glow about her. She never thought twice what was going to happen to my brother and myself after our mother was killed in the car wreck. She told us, not to worry, we belonged to her now. I have grown up with Lady A always around and thought of her as my second mother. I never really knew what a deep connection we would come to form. She is loving, she is caring, she wants you to experience the world as she experiences it. She wants you to see the world through her eyes. In what little time, we have been with her, we have learned a lot and we love her very deeply. I cannot imagine anything happening to her. I pray and pray please don’t take her away too.

When it was time to visit, my uncle and I went in together (only two visitors at a time). She asked my uncle if he would mind leaving, she wanted to talk to me. She reached for my hand and I took her hand. She patted the bed for me to sit down and I did. She started to talk about how she had grown to love my brother and I. She wanted me to know how she felt about both of us in case anything happened. I stopped her and told her she wasn’t going any where. We were meant to be family and I saw that now. But she told me, “Jacob, you have to prepare yourself in case something does happen.” I told her I wasn’t listening to it. She was getting out of the hospital and going to make a full recovery. I told her she had a lot to look forward to and never forget it. The cabin being rebuilt for one thing. All of us finally getting to go home and live a happy life before the fire. I don’t know if she heard all of what I had to say because she is still pretty drugged up. She did ask if the doctors had took out her spleen while she was in surgery. I told her no and that upset her. I tried to explain to her what kind of life she would have if they did. I told her I had did some research and found out about it. There would be no existence for her if she had that done. I also told her we were trying to raise the money to get the first treatment of the medicine she needed raised. She asked if I knew how expensive that would be. That upset me, I lend over the bed and told her, “do you think I care, there is no price I can put on your life, none. Get that through your thick skull. You are my mother and I be damned if I am going to lose you.” She smiled and went back out. The doctors are suppose to start easing up on the strong pain medicine today. If things keep going the way they are she should be out on the floor by Tuesday. I just want to keep her spirits up right now.

We have had two sizable donations come in and I deeply appreciate them. I found a pharmacy company that if you make an attempt to purchase the first round of medicine and can prove you can’t afford your medicine, they will supply the rest of it at no cost. We are a little ways off from being able to pay for that first bottle. I believe we won’t have a problem proving we can’t afford the rest especially at $738 a bottle, who could. Your donations are an answer to my prayers. You don’t know how the thought of losing mom has haunted me for the last few days. I couldn’t go through it. Again, I am not asking for money, I am begging for my mother’s life.

Thank you for giving my mother a fighting chance,

Jacob

An Up-Date from Jacob, Lady A’s son

i will eventually make an account of my own instead of using Mom’s all the time, maybe. If she passes, I won’t need to because I will never be back on this site again.

I was getting ready to update the site like Mom does every month. She ain’t here this month, I figured I would try to do it for her. Then I read Eleanor’s post. All Eleanor knows how to do is scream and shout and call people names and get angry. She doesn’t relay any of the facts to anyone. She just screams and is angry. I can understand her anger, I am angry too. I might lose another mother in little over a year. Mom is back in the hospital again. She seems to be sicker now than she was before. There was some complications with the hernia surgery. The doctors had to go back in and repair something, I don’t know what. While they were doing surgery, the one surgeon told us he had thought about going ahead and removing Mom’s spleen. I have read up on that and Mom wouldn’t have any quality of life after that.

My uncle is back in the picture again. He told Eleanor he didn’t give a damn what she said, he was going to be beside Kit one way or the other. He is the only one that knew Mom’s family’s health history. Come to find out all the problems she is having run throughout her family. They are all hereditary diseases.

Perhaps the medicine Eleanor keeps hollering about, you think is $50 or $60 a bottle. It isn’t, it is more like $738.00 a bottle. It isn’t cheap and it might as well be a million dollars to a kid like me. All I can do is hope and pray for a miracle or else watch my mother slowly slip from this life. I can’t stand to lose another mother. Watching her slowly wither away from this life to the next, I keep praying for that miracle. But if she should pass, I don’t even want to go there.

Now you know what Eleanor should have told you to start with instead of getting mad and screaming and shouting at everyone.

Sincerely,

Lady A’s son,
Jacob

So far we have had one donation to save my mother’s life and that was from Lady Beltane and Coven Life. I am not asking for money, I am asking for my mother’s life to be saved.

Celtic Creation Mythos

protects Earth

Celtic Creation Mythos

Once upon a time, there was no time and that was when there also was no gods and no man walked the surface of the land. But there was the sea, and where the sea met the land, a mare was born, white and made of sea-foam. And her name was Eiocha. On the land, near where the land met the sea, a tree grew, a strong and sturdy oak. On the oak, grew a plant whose seeds were formed of the foam tears of the sea. To sustain her, Eiocha ate the seeds, these white berries, and they were transformed within her. Eiocha grew heavy with child and gave birth to the god, Cernunnos. So great was her pain in childbirth that she ripped bark from the one tree and hurled it into the sea. The bark was transformed by the sea and became the giants of the deep.

Cernunnos was lonely and he saw the giants of the deep who were numerous, so he coupled with Eiocha and of their union came the gods, Maponos, Tauranis, and Teutates, and the goddess, Epona. Eiocha soon tired of the land, being a creature of sea-foam, and she returned the sea, where she was transformed into Tethra, goddess of the deep water, sometimes called Tethys.

The gods and goddess were lonely for they had none to command nor none to worship them. The gods and goddess took wood from the one oak tree and fashioned the first man and the first woman.   Cernunnos also made other animals from the one oak tree, the deer and the hound, the boar and the raven, the hare and the snake. He was god of the animals, and he commanded the oak tree to spread and grow, to be come a forest home for his children.

Epona also made animals, but she made only the horse, mare and stallion alike, in remembrance of Eiocha who was no more.

Teutates took limbs from the one tree, and fashioned a bow, arrows, and a club.

Tauranis took limbs from the one tree, and fashioned thunderbolts made of fire and noise. He would leap to the top of the tallest trees and hurl his weapon at the ground. The ground would shake, the grass would burn, and the animals would run in fear. Maponos also took limbs from the one tree, but he fashioned not a weapon but a harp. He stretched strings of the winds from its limbs and spent his days in Cernunnos’ forest. The winds would join in the melodies, and the birds as well. And all Cernunnos’ animals would come from near and far to hear Maponos play.

The giants of the deep saw the gods and goddess happy on the land, and the giants were jealous, for they had none to command nor none to worship them. So the giants plotted against the gods; they would overwhelm them with the sea and take the land under the water. But Tethra in the deep sea heard the murmuring of the giants in the waves and she remembered her days as Eiocha and so she warned her sons and daughter. The gods were prepared the day the giants came against them.

The gods took refuge in the one oak tree. Tauranis hurled his thunderbolt and split the land, and the sea overflowed its boundaries. Maponos broke the sky and hurled it at the giants. Teutates’ deadly aim with the bow and arrows from the one oak tree cut down many of the giants. The giants of the deep were not without weapons; they had the strength of the waves.

The gods overwhelmed the giants, but could not destroy them. The giants of the deep were driven back into the sea, and Tethra bound them in the deep waters. But a few escaped Tethra and fled far from her reach. They called themselves the Fomor, and built a life on the outer edges of the world. But the Fomor dreamed of conquest, and vowed to once again take the land from the gods. Of their later battles, our histories tell us much.

The sea returned to its bed and Maponos repaired the sky. And the gods looked for Epona as she had been absent from the victory. Epona had rescued one man and one woman from the watery and fiery destruction, and the three of them waited deep in Cernunnos’ forest. From this man and this woman Epona saved would come our mighty people. The gods and the goddess left the deep of Cernunnos’ forest and re- turned to their home near the one tree of oak which still stood strong and sturdy, and the sacred berries where still white as sea-foam.

Where the fiery pieces of the heavens Maponos had torn from the sky had mingled with the waters of the sea, there were born new gods. The god Belenus and his sister Danu sprang from where the heavenly fire had been but little quenched. The god Lir sprang from where the waters of the sea had almost quenched the fire of heaven. From Lir, as the histories tell, there would come the mighty Manannan, the beautiful Branwen, the wise Bran. But from Danu many children would come, the Dagda, Nuadha of the Silver Hand, the wise Dienceght, the smith Goihbhio, the fearsome Morrigan, the gentle Brighid. The Children of Danu and the Children of Lir are the two mighty races our songs tell of, ever opposite

The Creation Of Her

Birth of Venus

The Creation Of Her

And the world slowly dissolves into the ecstasy of chaos
We emerge as nothing
Except her love

It is all I know
And all I care to know
Mother earth create me anew

The sphere explodes in glass
Her silent screams
The hill bends and calls
Extracting energy and giving anew
No rush

The magical forest
Nymphs and fairies flit from branch to branch
Rays of sunshine make sparkles
And twist the colors so well

The darkness
Searching the unknown
Where elves and gnomes dig and dream
Chasms where monsters growl

Peace by piece
Pieces everywhere, in another sphere
Jumping between them
Staying nowhere
Forever searching

Your Witches Rune for May 23 is Woman

Today’s Witches Rune

Woman

Meaning: The first meaning of this rune is quite obvious: it represents women. Any woman that is important in the question, whether you know her or not, will be represented by this rune. Mother, sister, aunt, grandma, a female boss, friend, lover or even enemy… all can be symbolized by the appearance of this rune.

In a more general sense, this rune is related to traditional female abilities and characteristics, such as giving birth, nurturing, comforting and healing. When this rune appears, you can count on the sympathy of others towards you or your situation. In its most negative aspects, the Woman rune can show over-protectiveness, a patronizing attitude or co-dependency. It often strives to maintain the status quo, refusing to change even if the situation is bad.

The Woman rune is connected to nurturing – nurturing a relationship, a person or a project. Like the Moon rune, it can be related to finding a safe place to rest and heal, but while the Moon implies a solitary retreat, the Woman often shows that you need to go back to the people you trust, the people you feel safe with.

Healing is another strong aspect of this symbol, as well as teaching. You can be both the patient/student or the healer/teacher when this rune appears. This rune is also connected to creativity, but in a way that is different from the Romance rune. While the latter is about the conception of a project – the initial stages of creation – the Woman is about the birth of this project. When your creation is brought out into the world, fully manifested.

In relationship readings, this rune isn’t bad, but rather weak. While it can indicate subtle ties between people, these are usually so, so subtle that the partners can easily drift away from each other. It can show that one of the partners sees the other as someone who needs to be protected and healed, rather than an equal. Usually, the romance is a bit stagnated when this rune appears, or very close to becoming a friendship.
