Daily Feng Shui News for May 7th – ‘National Nurses Week’

It’s ‘National Nurses Week’ and today is ‘School Nurses Day.’ I’ve often written about how much I appreciate both teachers and nurses who give so much and who are often not as compensated as they should be. I also harbor great gratitude to the many nurses who have taken care of my loved ones throughout the years. If you know a nurse, particularly a school nurse, who could use some show of appreciation today, then take the time to offer a sincere ‘thank you.’ I am doing that from my heart right now.

Daily Feng Shui News – ‘National Tourist Appreciation Day’

On ‘National Tourist Appreciation Day’ I just want to remind once again that if you bring home a trinket or some other souvenir from your travels then you must be sure to cleanse the memento before using or displaying it. The fastest and easiest way to cleanse energies is to use the smoke from dried sage or incense. Simply let the smoke waft over and around the piece and then you can consider it completely cleansed and good to go.

Daily Feng Shui News for May 5th – ‘Money-making Salsas’

It’s Cinco de Mayo and I want to share with you my secret and delicious money-making salsa recipe. First you will need to place a fresh tomato on a kitchen windowsill for three days. Every time that you see it, visualize vines of money growing from it and spreading over your living space. See money growing up the walls and across the ceilings. Use your imagination to visualize money growing everywhere. On the third day dice the tomato and combine it with one half of a small chopped red onion, one half chopped jalapeno pepper, some lime juice, garlic, cilantro (another money-attracting food and the secret ingredient of this recipe) as well as some honey and any other spices you like. Blend this all together and eat the salsa knowing that very soon you will be receiving a financial windfall.

Daily Feng Shui News for May 4th – ‘Lemonade Day’

On ‘Lemonade Day’ let’s take the sugar out of the equation and look at the benefits associated with drinking warm lemon water, especially first thing in the morning. Lemons are an excellent source of vitamin C that can help strengthen the immune system and protect against deficiencies. The juice from fresh lemons is also considered to be a powerful antibacterial and drinking it will also balance pH and acid levels in your body. Drinking fresh lemon juice in warm water will also help to cleanse and regulate the liver, so squeeze some fresh citrus into your system to flush away toxins. Forget about making lemonade and make yourself happier and healthier by drinking warm lemon water. Life might hand you lemons but now you can use them to your health advantage.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 29th – ‘World Wish Day’

I love the energies of this ‘World Wish Day.’ In fact, manifesting experts share that the magic sauce to making a wish come true is to feel the emotions that you would experience when your wish does come true. Behavioral psychology calls this ‘acting as if.’ So go ahead and act as if your wish had been granted and get grateful beyond belief. Happy (and magical) wishing to you!

Daily Feng Shui News for April 25th – ‘World Tai Chi and Qigong Day’

Today is one after my own heart, or perhaps I should say that today does a heart good. It’s ‘World Tai Chi and Qigong Day,’ a time to exercise our right to long-lasting and great health. Qigong is a powerful system of healing or ‘energy medicine’ that hails from the Orient. Every Qigong exercise, whether a physical movement or a pattern of breathing, focuses on and regulates specific energy centers in your entire being. A quick and easy Chi Gung method of aiding digestion (as well as an exercise that helps with weight loss) is to do this after eating: Bring your hands to the upper left part of your abdomen, approximately where your stomach is located. Slowly and deliberately, move your hands in a circle over this area. Circle the stomach 50 to 100 times, all the while taking smooth, deep breaths. That’s it. Coming full circle in this way will now bring you an incredible lightness of being — literally.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 24th – ‘Pig in a Blanket Day’

Today is ‘Pig in a Blanket Day,’ but whether wrapped in a blanket or not, the pig is considered a prized possession in traditional Eastern cultures. According to Feng Shui, good fortune comes to households that display symbols or images of a pig. They signify prosperity, wealth, fertility and success in all affairs. In China, it’s the pig and not the dog that’s man’s best friend and considering all of the excellent attributes ascribed to it, now you can see why.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 23rd – ‘Lovers Day’

Oh la la, it’s ‘Lovers Day!’ But what if you don’t have a lover? Never fear, Feng Shui is here. If you are single and still searching for the perfect partner, then try this following Feng Shui cure. You must have two lamps on either side of your bed for this cure to work its magic. Each night at approximately the same time, turn the lamps on one immediately after the other. Then, after leaving them on for at least three consecutive hours, turn them off in unison. Do this every night for 27 nights and soon every day will be Lover’s Day for you.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 18th – ‘Pet Owners Independence Day’

On ‘Pet Owners Independence Day,’ I’d like to share a secret that might give you relief from a dehydrated doggy while traveling. This advice suggests that you should actually begin this exercise a few days before leaving home. Put two to three drops of one hundred percent true peppermint essential oil into your dog’s water bowl — sorry, this one’s just for Fido, no felines allowed. And don’t forget to take the peppermint along. You can bring a touch of home along with you by putting a tiny bit of this oil in your dog’s water in order to soothe their stomachs and keep their sense of home intact.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 17 – ‘High Five Day’

On ‘High Five Day’ I’d like to share a powerful Feng Shui healing ritual that uses all five elements and their related colors to balance the Chi in your living space and to promote good health. First, you must clear your mind of all negative or unpleasant thoughts. Next you will acquire five objects — one black (water), one white (metal), one red (fire), one green (wood) and one yellow (earth). Place the yellow object in the center of your living area. Walk to the west of your space and place the white object there. Leave the black object in the north and place the green in the east. Finally, put the red object in the southern part of your space. By representing all of the Feng Shui elements you bring balance and harmony to all of your endeavors.

Daily Feng Shui News for Apr. 15 – ‘Income Tax Pay Day,” & “That Sucks Day.”

It’s probably no coincidence that ‘Income Tax Pay Day’ falls on the same day as ‘That Sucks Day.’ In any case, if you feel that paying income tax sucks because there might not be enough money to do so, then try this Feng Shui tip to increase prosperity. Every morning for nine days straight draw a green dollar symbol on the palm of your left hand. If the symbol washes off during the day go ahead and draw it again. Wash it off at night and repeat the next day. Each time you spy this symbol on your palm, visualize more money and abundance coming to you. Feel grateful for this increase in your income and next year’s tax pay day might not sting quite so much.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 14th – ‘Ex Spouse Day’

For those who can relate to today’s ‘Ex Spouse Day’ energies, this tip’s for you. As soon as you start to feel any grieving or negative energies associated with your spouse, just stop what you’re doing (and thinking) and breathe. And be quiet. And be strong. And be the you who belongs to you. And now, I’ll offer just a few more words about conscious breathing. While you’re breathing all that bigness in, don’t forget to also recognize and invite your own big Spirit inside. You can do that simply by breathing in through the nose, all the way down into your belly and then exhaling through your mouth. Then take in another big breath, but this time move the breath into your heart. Breathe into that space and once there loudly exclaim the sound ‘Ha’ on the exhale. This will shake up and shake off negativity stuck to this same ‘ex’ agenda while allowing you to move more easily into the big life that belongs to you! Breathe deeply. Hit the heart hard. Then release and shout ‘Ha!’ This sounds like a perfect exercise to me.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 11th – ‘World Parkinson’s Disease Day’

My husband died from this disease, so I am humbled to share a holistic way I would use to calm him on ‘World Parkinson’s Disease Day.’ There were times when he would become confused or just plain forgetful because of the ravages of this disease and he would also get highly agitated. I would put ten drops each of lavender pure essential oil and chamomile pure essential oil into a bowl of steaming water and let the steam diffuse the calming oils around his room. It never failed that within a short time he would be cool, calm and collected again. These oils work for anyone who is agitated or irritated and will restore peace and balance to almost any situation.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 10th – ‘National Sibling Day’

I’m thinking of my two wonderful brothers and my sweet sister on this ‘National Sibling Day.’ According to Feng Shui, there is a place inside your living space that can be activated to awaken great energies to and for your siblings. Simply locate the center or middle of the left-hand wall of your living space, known in this tradition as the ‘Family/Friends/Ancestors’ area, and place three green, healthy plants there. Nurture those plants like you would your own loved ones and then watch as your relationship with your siblings grows to new and more loving heights.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 9 – ‘National Cherish An Antique Day’

You may want to follow today’s ‘National Cherish An Antique Day’ advice but be sure to follow mine as well. Feng Shui teaches that anything old that has had a prior owner also carries something called ‘predecessor’ energies, or the energy of the prior owners. Therefore, this philosophy strongly advises that you cleanse those energies before putting an antique into your home. You can use dried sage or even sandalwood or frankincense incense for this. Simply light the incense and let the smoke surround and infuse the antique in order to make its energy brand new again.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 8th – ‘Buddha Day’

On ‘Buddha Day’ let’s see what Feng Shui has to say about placing Buddha statues in your living space for big blessings and benefits. This tradition tells that holy objects such as Buddha statues should be positioned in a place of honor and respect. Paintings and statues of Buddha should never be used as decoration. According to Feng Shui, the best place to place a Buddha statue is facing the front door so that the holy vibes ascribed to this symbol will welcome any energies coming through that space.

Daily Feng Shui News for April 6 – ‘Drowsy Driver Awareness Day’

Today is ‘Drowsy Driver Awareness Day’ and I’d like to wake drivers up to an essential oil that will keep them alert and aware while also potentially preventing accidents. In 1879 the British Medical Journal noted that peppermint essential oil is a strong mental and physical stimulant that can keep concentration high while also helping one to stay awake and attentive. Put a few drops on a cotton ball and place it in your car or just keep a small one handy and inhale whenever you feel your energy and your focus waning as you drive.
