It is easy to spot the ruler of this day by its name. Sunday is the day of the sun. Community work, volunteer services, exercise, outdoor sports, buying, selling, speculating, meeting people, anything involving groups, running fairs and raffles, growing crops and taking care of all health matters fall under the influence of the Sun. With all this activity and the brightness of the sun, it’s easy to see why the child that is born on the Sabbath day is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
Michael is the primary angel of Sunday but each hour of this day also has it’s secondary angel. On Sundays, (unless you are invoking a specific angelic energy) the hour of sunrise will be the most powerful time to work, especially if you want to infuse energy into your work. Sunset is the second best time and is favored when you need to calm down a situation. Check the local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.
About Inari: Among the Japanese, Inari is invoked to bring a long life, blood-red being her sacred hue. In death, she guides and protects faithful spirits. Portrayed as a vixen, Inari also has strong correlations with love, an emotion that survives even the grave. Rice is a common offering for Inari, as it is a crop to which she brings fertility.
To Do Today: The Obon is a festival for the dead in Japan, where people hold family reunions and religious rituals to honor their departed ancestors and dance to comfort the spirits. These observances are fairly easy to duplicate. Gather with friends or family, and include rice cakes and fruit as part of your menu planning. Leave out an extra platter of food both for the spirits of the departed and to please Inari.
To increase Inari’s love in any relationship, or to draw a lover to you, make this charm: Find a red-colored stone (agate is a good choice), or any red-colored piece of clothing. Put this under the light of a full moon to charge it with emotional fulfillment. Then bless the item, saying,

Sunday, August 14
• Brilliant Jupiter remains a beacon in the western sky after sunset, but its days of prominence are numbered. It currently appears 10° high a half-hour after sunset and dips below the horizon during late twilight. The giant planet shines at magnitude –1.7 against the backdrop of western Virgo. At this low altitude, Jupiter won’t show much detail through a telescope — don’t expect to see more than a slightly flattened disk measuring 31″ across the equator.
Monday, August 15
• A second bright planet lurks low in the western evening twilight this week. Venus appears only about half as high as Jupiter, however, so you’ll need an unobstructed horizon to spot it. Fortunately, the inner planet glows brilliantly at magnitude –3.8 and will show up clearly under good atmospheric conditions. A telescope reveals an almost fully illuminated disk that spans 10″.
Tuesday, August 16
• Mercury reaches greatest elongation today, when it stands 27° east of the Sun. For observers at mid-northern latitudes, however, the innermost planet hangs low in the west after sunset. From 40° north latitude, it stands 5° high 30 minutes after the Sun goes down. You can find the magnitude 0.2 world through binoculars some 4° (about half a binocular field) below Jupiter. Be sure to keep an eye on Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter during the next two weeks as the triangle they form grows tighter.

• Full Moon officially arrives at 5:27 a.m. EDT tomorrow morning, but it looks completely illuminated throughout the night. It appears low in the east as the Sun sets and reaches its peak in the south around 1 a.m. local daylight time. Luna resides among the dim background stars of northeastern Capricornus. As a curiosity only, the Full Moon crosses the northern edge of Earth’s penumbral shadow. Just 2 percent of our satellite dips into this subtle shadow, however, and observers won’t be able to detect any dimming.

• Although Saturn reached its peak in early June, it remains conspicuous on August evenings. You can find the planet in the south-southwest around 9 p.m. local daylight time, when it forms the vertex of a pretty triangle that includes Mars and Antares. Saturn shines at magnitude 0.4, intermediate in brightness between the Red Planet and the ruddy star. When viewed through a telescope, Saturn measures 17″ across while its dramatic ring system spans 39″ and tilts 26° to our line of sight.

• Distant Neptune reaches opposition and peak visibility two weeks from today, but the view now is essentially the same. The ice giant planet rises around 8:30 p.m. local daylight time and climbs nearly halfway to the zenith in the southern sky by 2 a.m. The magnitude 7.8 planet lies in Aquarius, 1° southwest of 4th-magnitude Lambda (l) Aquarii. You’ll need binoculars to spy Neptune and a telescope to see its blue-gray disk, which spans 2.4″.

• Asteroid 2 Pallas reaches opposition and peak visibility today. The second-biggest object orbiting between Mars and Jupiter glows at magnitude 9.2, bright enough to show up through almost any telescope. You can find it on the border between Pegasus and Equuleus, 4° due west of 2nd-magnitude Enif (Epsilon [e] Pegasi), the star that marks the nose of Pegasus the Winged Horse. The lovely globular star cluster M15 lies 2.5° north and a touch east of Pallas. The three objects lie about halfway to the zenith in the southeastern sky after darkness falls.
Sunday, August 21
• Look toward the south-southwest during evening twilight and you can’t miss Mars. The Red Planet shines brightly at magnitude –0.4 and remains visible until it dips below the horizon around midnight local daylight time. Mars resides on the border between Scorpius and Ophiuchus, crossing from the former to the latter constellation today. When viewed through a telescope, Mars’ orange-red disk spans 11″ and shows several subtle dark markings.

Good morning, dear family! How are you doing today? I hope super great. As you know, we always take a day off on the weekends. Today is our day off. I wanted to share with you what I will doing (if the weather holds). The pharmacy that I use asked me if the pups and I would do a commercial for them. First time I have done a commercial, sort of scary. My part isn’t that big though, I just stand at the counter and pretend to check out. The pups do all the acting, lol! It was really a surprise when I was asked. The owner of the pharmacy told me they had been looking for some unusual pups to do the commercial. Since these two are rather unusual in the markings, she told me they were perfect. They act like little angels in public but wait till you get them home. They are worse that kids. I just hope they don’t drop a surprise in the floor during the shoot.
I am suppose to get a copy of the commercial. As soon as I do, I will post it on here for everyone to view. So we are off, wish us good luck. We will be back tomorrow. Till then….
You would have to be very lucky to get through much of life without having to deal with scars on your skin. Whether they are caused by acne, surgery or animal bites most of us will have a few battle signs dotted around our bodies.
Of course, it is highly unlikely that you will ever be able to get rid of these scars completely. You are likely to have to carry larger scars such as those caused by surgery or major wounds around with you for life. I have a very unsightly scar on my lower abdomen caused by stomach surgery and as much as it would be great to get rid of it, I have accepted that it is a part of me and will always be a part of me. Even smaller scars will be difficult to eradicate completely and the best you can hope for might be to lighten the scar so as it fades away and gradually becomes almost unnoticeable.
Fortunately for those of us who would like to be rid of unsightly scars, many essential oils provide a safe and natural solution. It is worth remembering that any scar treatment will not be a quick fix. You will need patience and treatment may last many months before you feel happy with the results. A number of essential oils have a great many properties that benefit the skin.
Essential oils can be used to treat skin conditions like acne and eczema or simply applied to keep your skin looking youthful and healthy. Some essential oils are especially effective on blemishes, stretch marks and other minor scars because they contain the cicatrisant properties which promote tissue regeneration.
This article will take a look at the essential oils that have the best scar healing effects; they are not listed in any particular order and there are no guarantees that they will work. You might have to try several oils before hitting upon the one that you feel most happy with but they have made the list for good reason having all been used successfully to treat scarring.

ESSENTIAL OILS FOR SCARS
1. LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL
Lavender is one of the most popular and versatile essential oils. It is a very effective essential oil that can be used for a variety of skin conditions and is widely used to treat scars. Lavender essential oil can be applied to prevent new scar tissue from forming and also to reduce the evidence of existing scars.
Unlike nearly every other essential oil, it is a very gentle oil that can be applied topically without the need for dilution although it should be diluted when being applied to fresh wounds.
2. HELICHRYSUM ESSENTIAL OIL
If you are desperate to eliminate or dissipate your scarring, helichrysum essential oil is one of the absolute best oils. There are obvious budgetary considerations when choosing your essential oils and helichrysum is extremely expensive.
Because of its price, you may be better trying another oil first but if money is not an object, helichrysum has few equals. As well as its ability to treat scars and blemishes, it has a range of other skin applications and is a popular option for acne, eczema and psoriasis.
3. CARROT SEED ESSENTIAL OIL
Carrot seed essential oil has powerful antioxidant properties and is renowned as a tonic for the skin. It can help treat scarring whether caused by acne, burns or cuts while also working to strengthen your skin’s elasticity and reducing the signs of aging like wrinkles. Carrot seed oil is a popular ingredient in creams designed to treat eczema and psoriasis.
4. CEDARWOOD ESSENTIAL OIL
Cedarwood essential oil is a very popular choice for skin health. It is able to maintain both oily and dry skin and works to expel impurities and excess tissue fat. As well as its general skin care benefits, cedarwood essential oil can be used to regenerate scar tissue and diminish the signs of older scars whether they are caused by acne, stretch marks or small wounds.
5. GERANIUM ESSENTIAL OIL
Geranium is an excellent overall skin tonic. It is anti-inflammatory and antiseptic and has cicatrisant properties that will help eliminate or at least fade out any scarring when applied over a period of time. It is also helps to rejuvenate old skin cells and helps give your skin a fresh lease of life.
6. ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL
Rose essential oil does not come cheap but it is well known for its many skin applications. When applied regularly, it can have a significant impact on the appearance of your scars. Rose oil also improves circulation and helps maintain your skin’s youthful appearance and elasticity.
7. PATCHOULI ESSENTIAL OIL
Patchouli essential oil does not have quite the same reputation and is less popular than many other oils but it should not be discounted when it comes to skin health and scars in particular. Patchouli has outstanding restorative qualities and is able to stimulate the regeneration of skin cells. It is both anti-inflammatory and cicastrisant and can help heal new scar tissue and fade out older scars.
8. NEROLI ESSENTIAL OIL
Neroli essential oil is another very expensive option but it has a great reputation for healing scars as well as treatment of numerous skin conditions.
9. MYRRH ESSENTIAL OIL
Myrrh has some powerful skin regeneration properties and is a popular remedy for a variety of conditions including acne and psoriasis. Myrrh essential oil also widely used to treat scars caused by burns, stretch marks and small wounds. It can help promote the growth of new skin around the area of fresh scars and over time causes any lasting scars to fade away.
10. FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL
Frankincense essential oil is yet another great option for scars and skin health in general. This essential oil stimulates the regeneration of the new cells that grow over your scar tissue making the area smoother and the scarring less visible.
OTHER ESSENTIAL OILS TO CONSIDER FOR SCARRING
The list above is by no means definitive and many other essential oils are well known for their ability to treat skin complaints and reduce the effects of scarring. Rosemary, hyssop, Calendula and juniper essential oils have all been used with great success.
HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS FOR SCARS
FOR FRESH WOUNDS AND CUTS
Clean the affected area with a mixture of warm water and 5 drops of lavender essential oil to help disinfect the area.
Dilute your chosen essential oil with a suitable carrier oil and apply it to the wound.
Cover the affected area with gauze or a band aid and change it several times a day.
If the wound is so serious that you need stitches, it is important that you see a doctor as soon as possible. Your doctor might recommend that you don’t apply essential oils until the stitches have been removed.
FOR OLDER SCARS
Make sure that you dilute your chosen essential oil with a base oil before applying it topically. Rosehip and hazelnut oil are considered to be excellent carrier oils when it comes to scarring.
Don’t expect immediate results; scar tissue takes a long time to fade and there are no guarantees that it will work. You should however start seeing some satisfactory results within a few months.

Explanation: At first called “Easterbunny” by its discovery team, officially named Makemake is the second brightest dwarf planet of the Kuiper belt. The icy world appears twice in this astronomical image, based on data taken on June 29 and 30 of the bright spiral galaxy NGC 4725. Makemake is marked by short red lines, its position shifting across a homemade telescope’s field-of-view over two nights along a distant orbit. On those dates nearly coincident with the line-of-sight to the spiral galaxy in the constellation Coma Berenices, Makemake was about 52.5 astronomical units or 7.3 light-hours away. NGC 4725 is over 100,000 light-years across and 41 million light-years distant. Makemake is now known to have at least one moon. NGC 4725 is a famous one-armed spiral galaxy.
Tonight – August 12, 2016 – use the waxing gibbous moon to find the ringed planet Saturn and nearby red planet Mars. Or maybe you noticed them already while watching meteors in the Perseid meteor shower these past few nights. The meteor shower is probably past its peak now, but – although the Perseid shower tends to rise to a peak gradually and then fall off rapidly after its peak – you should still be able to see some meteors in a dark sky between midnight and dawn Saturday morning. Meanwhile, Friday evening, watch for the moon and planets. Mars is the brighter of the two planets near the August 12 moon, while Saturn shines more brilliantly than nearby Antares, the brightest star in the constellation Scorpius the Scorpion.

These next two photos, from Bob Kelley near Las Vegas Nevada, show how the moon has moved eastward, past the planets, over these past two nights.
Keep watching Mars and Saturn, even after the moon moves away. With the star Antares, these planets have made a prominent triangle on our sky’s dome for many months. But Mars is on the move now, in front of the star background. Mars is rapidly traveling eastward in the direction of Saturn and Antares. It’ll pass in between Saturn and Antares on or near August 24.
On August 24, Saturn and Mars to be in conjunction (north and south of one another on the sky’s dome). Saturn, Mars and Antares will align on the sky’s dome. Saturn will mark the northern point and Antares the southern point of this celestial line-up, with Mars to the south of Saturn and to the north of Antares.
After the Mars-Saturn conjunction on August 24, be sure to keep an eye on Saturn, Mars and Antares as darkness falls in the following months.
You’ll see the red planet Mars travel farther and farther east of Saturn and Antares day by day.
Bottom line: On August 12, 2016, the peak of the Perseid meteor shower has probably passed, but you can still see meteors in a dark sky in the hours before dawn. Also, on August 12, use the moon to locate a triangle of objects: Saturn, Mars and Antares. By late August and September, Mars will have moved to the other side of Saturn and Antares, to mark the easternmost point of this changing celestial triangle.
