Your Weekly LightBlast for April 14th: Being Change

Weekly LightBlast: Being Change

Blessed Being, change is constant in life. It is the fact that Time marks. You see change around you and happening to you. You see that the passage of Time has an effect. Rather than change, we could say that movement is constant in Life. From the subatomic to the visible, movement is occurring infinitely.

We have said before that the movement of Time is around you and within you. It responds to you, with you, and through you. Your ability to work directly with Time relies on your ability to speak clearly with it, to speak its language, to come to an understanding. This speaking is not with words, it is with vibration. What is vibration but movement?

As you observe Time and your life on Earth, you recognize a cycle of movement and rest. You recognize that your body needs a distinct amount of rest from movement to function optimally. It is in these moments of sleep, meditation, and imagination that your biological system is in tune with the language of Time. In these moments, you are Allowing Time, you are connecting with the flow of Time so peacefully, that it nurtures instead of propels.

This state of connection—of rest, quiet, calm, and allowing—it is a moment of Conscious Peace. How often do you reach that by choice? Sleep is a great need. Without it, your functionality is noticeably difficult. You can even utilize stimulants to combat the fatigue, but eventually you must succumb to sleep or suffer rather extreme consequences. We point out the obvious to bring the non-obvious into better focus.

What about your states of meditation and imagination? How important are they? You know that with a practice of quieting the self, you reap benefits. It is actually a state of focus, it is just that these particular states of focus combat worry and anxiety. It is a time of focus within the self rather than outside of the self. These states soothe chaos or disharmony within the vibration of self, just as sleep does.

This is the key of Being Change.

As you allow your self to soothe into a conscious connection of peace with Life, you touch the beneficial and nurturing harmony, the support of Love—the passive strength of the invisible realms.

In these moments of Conscious Peace, you are becoming One with the harmony of Life, with the great force that builds worlds. You are whole, connected, and affecting great change through the passive force of Love. It is in these moments that your power to build the future increases, for you are working from the internal, rather than the quick fix of reworking the external and convincing the self into believing that because the outside has changed appearance, the inside must be different as well.

It is in these moments that you allow a connection with Love to emanate from you—into your life, and your world.

It is in this way that you are Being the Love that is causing change. You are Being Change.

This movement is not visible in the moment, but it is rearranging Life at its core, where Love resides. Perhaps in another moment, you will be called to action, but this internal harmony is your first action of change. A state of Being that allows Love to nurture change. Quiet yourself. Imagine it. Be it.

As we sit to Blast Being Change, we are opening our minds to the ease of Time flowing, for each new day and night supports change and offers improvement. We are allowing the Love of Life to soothe our fears into a Knowing that All is well. We are connecting with the vastness of Life, receiving its infinite safety as Time illuminates the path of Love. We are holding our harmony in the chaos of fearful humans that have not yet touched the beauty of their own heart. We are the calm in the storm, the safe shores that await the courageous to reach out and touch the future of Love. Blast on!

Invocation to Iduna

Hail to you, Lady of the Sacred Orchard!
Hail to you, gardener of Asgard!
Let the other gods quarrel
About who may sit higher than whom,
About whose sword is sharper
And whose spear is keener.
You, Lady, know your place,
And that place is indispensable.
You are the One Who Works,
The one without whom all the plans
And grandiosities of the others
Would simply come to nothing.
Giver of health and immortality,
Keep our bodies sound and strong!
Keep us healthy, that we may, like you,
Get up each and every morning
While the rest of the world quarrels
And go quietly to our tasks,
Working the Earth that you love so much,
Knowing that ours is the real work
And the real life, not some shell
Of unbodied, distanced work
Whose products we will never see.
Help us in our daily round of sacred labor,
Lady of the Sacred Orchard,
And may our gardens bloom as yours.

(The horn of mead is passed around, and the rest poured as a libation to Iduna. Each takes an apple and some nuts as a snack for their work-hours, and then each takes a gardening tool from the altar, thanks Iduna, and goes outside to work.)

14 April

First Cuckoo Day

In Sussex, England, April 14 is officially known as First Cuckoo Day and heralds the arrival of Spring. It is believed that those who hear the first cuckoo cry will be blessed with good luck and good fortune for the rest of the year. Over the years, there has been a good deal of light-hearted rivalry surrounding the question of where and when the first cuckoo will be heard. Many omens are drawn from the first call heard: lucky if to your right, unlucky if to your left or behind you or if you have not yet eaten. If you have money in your pocket at the time you will have plenty all year (especially if you turn to the right and jingle it), but if not, you will stay poor. If you are in bed, this foreshadows an illness; if you are standing on grass, you will have good fortune.

One popular custom among 19th-century workmen was to stop work upon hearing the first cuckoo, claim the day as a holiday, and go off to drink ale or beer outdoors to welcome the bird.

The cuckoo’s habit of laying its eggs in the nests of other birds explains why its cry was regarded, in medieval times, as mocking the cuckold husbands-they would have to bring up another man’s child. In some areas, the cuckoo was associated with stupidity and in northern dialects `gowk’ means both cuckoo and fool.

Custom Made Magick for Thursday

***Green Spring Scenery***
Custom Made Magick for Thursday

Well, let’s see … abundance, prosperity, and good health has been our focus for this day. Now how about a little more information and ideas for working practical magick with one of our fascinating featured deities of the day?

Juno was the Queen of Heaven. As the matriarch of the gods, she guarded over women in every aspect of their lives. Juno was thought to have renewed her virginity every year. Similar to other goddess stories, Juno was a triple goddess-a virgin who belonged to no one; a mother and woman in the prime of her life, sexual and mature; and also a crone, powerful, wise, and sometimes vengeful (as she made her husband’s many mistresses’ lives either fairly unhappy or short).

There are references to an early all-female triad of goddesses known as the Capitoline Triad. This triad consisted of Juventas, Juno, and Minerva. To the Greeks, they would have been known as Hebe, Hera, and Hecate. Ultimately the triad became Juno, Minerva, and the male Jupiter. Jupiter, another of Thursday’s gods, was Juno’s consort.

As mentioned earlier, Juno, in her aspect as Juno Moneta, was the patron and protector of the Roman mint. The coins produced at her temples were blessed by Juno and imbued with her powers of abundance and prosperity. In another of her aspects as Juno Augusta, Juno was the goddess of an abundant harvest.

In addition, another of Juno’s magickal correspondences is the semiprecious stone malachite. Malachite is a beautiful green-banded stone that was also called the “peacock stone” in Italy. The peacock was a sacred animal of Juno’s, and the magickal energies of malachite encourage health and prosperity.

Let’s Talk Witch – Dream Work

Nature's Beauty

Dream Work

There are a lot of different theories on why the mind does dream. Some believe that it is a way to connect to the subconscious and that the mind uses this opportunity to work through issues that have come up during the day. It is also theorized that dreaming is important when it comes to memory and learning.

In many cultures, people actively try to enter the dream state in order to find answers to their questions. Lucid dreaming is something that most cultures in the world have tried to make use of.

Whilst we cannot really be absolutely sure what the reason is for dreaming what we do, their is no doubt that analyzing the dreams can provide valuable information.

Whether you believe that dreaming is the soul’s way of accessing the astral plane or spirit world, or that it is the subconscious mind’s way of communicating with us, dream-work can be really useful.

In order to really get the benefits though, it is important to be able to properly interpret the messages that the mind is sending to you. The only way to sort out useful information from nonsense is to keep a record of what you have dreamt so that patterns in the dreams can be recognized.

The best way to do this is to make sure that you have paper and a pen on your bedside table. It is best to write out what you can remember the minute that you awaken. You can jot down key ideas that can aid your recall of the dream later.

Recording what you have dreamed is important because it let’s the waking mind know that remembering the dreams is important. Otherwise the mind will just put dreams in the file and forget category and you won’t be able to recall them, no matter how hard you try.

Try to capture the essence of the dream in five words or less – this in itself can be a helpful tool in determining what the dreams meant later as the mind will isolate the key themes for you.

The more often you repeat the process of recording your dreams, the better you will get at remembering them and the easier it will be to start interpreting them.

It can also be helpful to keep a record of what phase the moon was in alongside the keywords of the dream. This will help you to identify the times of the month that more helpful information is provided – dreams can be wilder at different times.

When it comes to interpreting the dreams, it is more important to follow your own gut instinct than to rely on outside interpretations. Dream dictionaries are rather generic and can possibly point to what a dream might mean but they can also be wildly inaccurate – they cannot possibly take your own personal experiences into account and these can have a huge impact on what you dream.

The problem with interpreting dreams is that symbolism plays a huge part in them and you might never really be sure what it means. You might be dreaming about something that you have a real fear about, or you could be dreaming about something because you ate something that disagreed with you.

That is why it is important to have a proper record of dreams. When you do, you will notice what themes recur and will be able to interpret the dream accordingly.

Whilst it is true that you cannot control what you dream about, you can influence it by what you think about when you get into bed. If you want some clarity on an issue, try thinking about it for a few minutes after you have turned in for the night. You might be pleasantly surprised at the outcome.

The Mood of Leo

The Moon sets the emotional tone as it transits through the Zodiac signs. It changes signs every 2 1/2 days. You can work with this rhythm to “go with the flow” of the Moon. You can use it to know the general feeling tone to expect.

When the Moon is in Leo, we want to LOL! It’s time to party! We emerge from the homey Cancer Moon, and want to be out where the action is. Joy for living comes up from the heart, and has us looking around for fun. We want to live large.

This Moon brings a cheery vibe, making it easier to be lifted out of the doldrums. You might want to leave the day open, and let your spontaneous mischievous child inside lead the way. There’s a lure to colorful, special places like museums, food fairs and festivals and glamourous high end boutiques. It’s a mood heightened by spectacles like parades, costume parties and children’s theme parties. There’s delight in playing make-believe under this Moon, above the mundane of life.

This is a flirty Moon, and you get away with it, because it’s all for fun. The Leo lunar vibe brings out the cocky bravado in men and the diva in women. You might spend more time with the mane and dress, in anticipation of being seen. It’s a Moon to revel in being admired and taking pride in appearance.
When the Moon is in Leo, there’s sparky inspiration in the air, and we may encourage each other to shine more brightly. Go ahead and hold the stage. Tell a story and make it dramatic. Make some children laugh by being a clown. Tap into your inner thespian, and make all the world your stage!

Things to do when the Moon is in Leo:

tell jokes; send funny pictures on Facebook; surprise someone with a just-for-fun gift; encourage someone you love; accessorize; style your hair in a way that gets attention; wear warm colors (red, orange, yellow); smile when walking down the street; dance to your favorite music; have a girls night out; go on an adventure with a child; take a creative risk; work on your screenplay or play; decorate your home for the holidays.

The Waxing Moon Phase

PRAYING IN SPRING
The Waxing Moon Phase

Now is the time your projects can get into their stride. Be aware, however, that overstrains are more likely at this time and that the body takes thing in and absorbs them more readily with a Waxing Moon.

It is also a good time to build yourself up if you have been unwell or otherwise off-colour. Absorbing, boosting your energy and taking up supplies are crucial now. Go on an active holiday, get in touch with friends, plan a party, arrange meetings and increase communication.

As the Full Moon approaches, notice what isn’t working and shed it in order to focus your energies more effectively. Remind yourself to slow down a little and conserve your strength. This is a time of regeneration and to gather information and resources.
