The Wicca Book of Days for April 26th
Mysterious Stonehenge
“Earth,” the name of this day’s element, may refer to the soil, the landscape, or our planet. Whatever its context, the earth harbors many mysteries, one of the most famous being Stonehenge, a circle of massive standing stones on England’s Salisbury Plain. Work began around five thousand-year ago, with the original timber posts later giving way to bluestones that were subsequently replaced by sandstones. The entire structure was built so that there was a significant alignment with the rising of the sun on the Summer Solstice. This was clearly a sacred spot, but we can only speculate as to why.
Earthy Types
In Jungian psychology, the element of earth corresponds to the sensation personality type, with those under earth’s influence relying heavily on their senses (of smell, touch, taste, sight and hearing) in perceiving reality. Why not develop your own sensory awareness today?
