IF THE DARKNESS COMES
If the darkness comes, and I am not there
Try to hold on to your sanity
Until I am there with you,
To help you hold back the dark.
I know the spirits come to visit you
When you are alone
And darkness descends;
But I will stand next to you,
Fighting the wraiths as I am able.
I know the phantoms of the past
From those you harmed or killed may come,
But do not use your dark magics
To fight them or it will be worse.
I will light candles, I have not the taint
Upon my soul that you do.
One day perhaps they will forgive you;
Or your heart will give out from the strain.
