Miracle at Lourdes (France)
It was on this day in 1858 that the famous apparition of Our Lady at Lourdes was seen by a poor peasant girl, Bernadatte. This was the last manifestation at the gorto which had been known for many centuries as the shrine of the Goddess.
Born Marie Bernarde Soubrious, Bernadatte (1844 – 1879) suffered from asthma, poverty, and a lack of education. At the age of 14, on February 11, Bernadatte experienced a vision of the Virgin Mary while collecting firewood on the bank of the River Gave near Lourdes. During the next six months, she saw a series of 18 visions in which the Lady identified herself as “the Immaculate Conception” and told Bernadatte to drink from a nearby spring. The Lady also instructed Bernadatte to erect a chapel on the site. Since that time, the spring has produced 27,000 gallons of water each week and has been the site of countless miracles of healing.
One white candle
Light the candle and place it next to the tub so the water will reflect its light. As you fill the tub with water, add the mint and lavender leaves. Just before you step into the tub, stir the water with your hand as you chant:
“Elements and herbs lend your power,
Bring me healing from this hour.”
Soak in the tub for 15 minutes. At the end of this time, stand in the tub and let the water out. As the water drains from the tub, visualize all your ailments (or problems) leaving your body and flowing away with the water.
The Health Lamp
This lamp, as with all other lamps, will contain a universal fluid mixture plus a magnet, a personal object from the person the lamp is for, or their name written on parchment paper cut in the form of a cross. You will place this at the bottom of your lamp and pour your fuel over this and the magnet. Since this lamp is being made for health, we will add the following: one Bottle of Health Attracting Oil and one half teaspoon of the following herbs: heal-all, peppermint, eucalyptus, etc. (a combination of five different healing herbs or four herbs and five-finger grass. The prayer used is directed to Our Lady of Lourdes (used by the French) or St. Joseph (used by the Italians).
To correctly use the lamp, the flame must not be extinguished once it is lit, and as you say your prayer and state your desire, you must shake the lamp in a clockwise direction to get the ingredients in the lamp moving in a clockwise direction to get the ingredients in the lamp moving in a clockwise direction. Again this must be done daily and at the same time each day until satisfied.

Our Lady of Lourdes
February 11 marks the date, in 1858, on which a young French girl, Bernadette Soubiroux (1844-79), first saw a vision of the Virgin Mary in the hollow of a rock in Lourdes. During her apparitions to Bernadette, “The Immaculate Conception” instructed her to drink from the spring that sprang forth, and to build a church near the grotto of Massabielle. Since then, millions have visited Lourdes and have drunk, or bathed in, its spring water in the hope of being cured of various ailments and diseases, and many miracles have indeed been reported. In 1907, Pope Pius X officially named February 1 the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The Water Of Life
Goddesses of every culture have always been linked with fresh water. Collect a jug of spring water to use in your rituals if you can, otherwise, pour some water into a bowl and then set it outside to absorb the moon’s rays.
