May’s Scorpio full Moon falls in the evening of May 3 in the US and the middle of the day on May 4 in Australia. The major aspect of this full Moon is the square from the Sun and Moon to Jupiter at Leo 14. This degree is very much about communications, communicating with others, receiving messages and inputs, along with sending them out to others. Pluto is also aspecting this lunation, bringing a sense of power and transformation to many situations that demand that we sit up and pay attention.

The full Moon each month marks a time of heightened energies and events. It often marks the culmination of the energies released at the new Moon. Emotions can be supercharged as the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac and illumination is increased – it’s like we can see in the dark – and we can be hyper-aware as well as being hyper-awake. The effects of a full Moon can be major or minor, depending on how they interact with your own chart. Sometimes, realisations or events that are unleashed, or unlocked, can stretch their meaning months into the future. A lot can be learned at the time of the full Moon and whether it’s lunacy or illumination, or a combination of both, there’s magic unleashed with every full Moon.

The Sabian Symbol for the full Moon is Scorpio 14: TELEPHONE LINEMEN AT WORK INSTALLING NEW CONNECTIONS

The following is from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom.

‘Telephone Linemen at Work Installing New Connections’ shows people working and concentrating on laying the ‘Lines’ for ‘Connections’ so that people may communicate with each other easily and effectively. They are laying cables to allow for the smooth functioning of the ‘Telephone’ system. They have a clear understanding of how the equipment works and how necessary and valuable it is to enable people to link up with each other.

This Symbol reflects an increase in the forms of communication that you can have access to, or that you have more communications coming to you. You may find that there has been a failure in communicating your thoughts, ideas or emotions lately. Something is being (or needs to be) done, or laid down, in order to solve, repair or patch up the situation. There is nothing to be achieved by worrying about any recent “connection” failures, however something should be done to set about making or repairing the necessary ‘Lines’ of communication. Sometimes advice and help must be called on for all to be resolved. This may need to be expert advice, but it can also be gathered from your own common sense. This can symbolize expansion into areas like the Internet, faxes or business lines. It can also represent the spiritual connection to the “other side”, even channeling. Sometimes, however, in the ‘Installing of New Connections’ problems of crossed-lines occur. It’s important to listen for the real truth in the communications that are being made, not to all the faint chitchat that surrounds what’s being said. Networking and new lines of communications often open up after this Symbol is revealed.

Keywords: Acupuncture and other therapies that work on the body’s meridians. The nervous system. The Internet. Forming new lines of communication. New connections taking place. Linking people up. Making sure that messages get through. Mobile phones, faxes, email. Networks and networking. Switchboards. Satellites. Wires. The ability to reach far distances. Getting on other peoples’ wavelengths. Contacts. Hooking up with the system. UFO experiences. Mobile phones. The Caution: Failing to see the necessity for repairs to personal communication. Becoming involved in other people’s lives. Gossip. News, thoughts and ideas spreading rapidly and getting out of control. Constant chatting. Being fickle. Sabotage. Engaged signals.

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) of this full Moon is Scorpio 13: AN INVENTOR PERFORMS A LABORATORY EXPERIMENT.

Discovery is seeing what everyone else has seen and thinking what no one else has thought. Albert von Szent-Gyorgi

If things are not working you may need to ‘Experiment’ – trying different combinations and possibilities. In doing so you will not only most likely find the solution, but you will also learn a lot from any errors that are made along the way. Look for creative solutions to situations facing you. A lot of amazing discoveries can be made simply by having a go at something or creating the right mix of ingredients. As the situation unfolds, you’ll learn clues as to what should be the next thing to do, the tasks that are worth performing or the risks that you are prepared to take. Be prepared to be inventive and make things up as you go along. Sometimes we have to just “go for it” and do what we feel needs to be done without knowing what the outcome is going to be. Take a few calculated risks and along the way you just might discover something unexpected.

Keywords: Creating one’s vision. Thinking quickly and making momentary decisions. Being prepared to risk failure. Bringing different mixes of things and/or people together. Seeing if things live up to expectations. Looking for answers. The “mad professor”. Mixing chemicals. Measuring and weighing. Going by one’s gut reactions. Inventions and experiments. Discovery. Laboratories. Research. The Caution: Becoming obscured by pointless goals. Making things up. Being one-eyed and focused to the exclusion of all else. Not fully understanding the consequences of actions. Always taking risks. Not taking adequate cautions. Not keeping track of what you’re doing. Ignoring warning signs. Being a “mad professor”.

The Sun is on Taurus 14: ON THE BEACH, CHILDREN PLAY WHILE SHELLFISH GROPE AT THE EDGE OF THE WATER

This speaks of peaceful coexistence amongst beings on different levels of evolution. The ‘Children are Playing’ whilst the ‘Shellfish’ are feeding. It shows the essential unity of all life, no matter how “evolved” each being is. Getting back to the basic elements, such as nature, with a sense of ‘Play’ will help alleviate the seriousness of problems or stress. This Symbol implies people and all living things existing together in peace and harmony. They are playing, enjoying and living at the edge of the water on the beach, doing their own thing and getting on with their lives – enjoying life and nature. This is a lovely image of a live-and-let-live attitude. Try taking some time out and interact with others. With the coming and going of the tide, people do what comes most naturally to them. Just be careful that you don’t get out of your depth trying to be like others.

Keywords: Being self-sufficient. Looking after one’s own affairs. A sense of at-one-ment with all forms of life. Having a live and let live attitude. Peripheral vision. Returning to the source. Feeling safe in a natural environment. Playing alongside nature. Building sand castles. Playing in pools or baths. Buckets and spades. Sun protection. Interacting without really interacting. Swimming. Sand, wind and sea. Rockpools. Shellfish, oysters, shrimp.

The Caution: Meddling in people’s lives. Restriction of play. Being distracted. Sandcastles that will eventually get washed away. Not knowing how to loosen up with others and relax into a natural environment. Fussing that people aren’t doing the ‘right thing’. Sunburn and exposure to weather. Voyeurism.

The Karmic Degree for the Sun is Taurus 13: A PORTER CARRYING A MOUNTAIN OF HEAVY BAGGAGE

Up until the time of the full Moon, you may feel like you are carrying too much in the way of ‘baggage’… it seems that we need to be more like the ‘Children Playing At The Beach’ than the ‘Porter’. Otherwise known as a baggage handler or bellboy, he has a lot of work to do. He is performing a service for others and here he is seen as having ‘a Mountain of Heavy Baggage’ to move or ‘Carry’. He needs to remain cheerful and not reveal how much this ‘Mountainous’ load is weighing him down; otherwise he may not get the approval of those he is ‘Carrying’ the load for. There would be no thanks and no “tips” if he were to complain, groan or grumble. ‘Porters’ do a lot of hard work but don’t often get much appreciation or attention. They are expected to just get on with the job, sometimes they become almost invisible. This Symbol can also be an expression of class-consciousness.

Keywords: Self-reliance. Owning other people’s ‘garbage’. Shouldering baggage or weight. Being weighed-down. Feeling responsible for everything. Bad backs and posture. Carrying others. Counseling people, taking on their emotions. Bad backs, shoulders, knees, etc. Strain and wear. Bearing the family guilt. Luggage. Trolleys. Looking for tips.

The Caution: Being busy with other peoples’ problems. Unable to work for your own benefit. Carrying other peoples’ responsibilities. Being indispensable until the energy is all worn out. Not knowing when to say “no” to other’s demands. The burden of debts. Being useful but unimportant.

The Sun symbolizes: One’s core center, spirit, heart, issues to do with father, men, self, ego, your male side. How you radiate your sense of being. What others see, how you are recognized or remembered, sense of identity and connection with male energy – yours and others.

Mercury is on Gemini 5: A RADICAL MAGAZINE OR PUBLICATION, ASKING FOR ACTION, DISPLAYS A SENSATIONAL FRONT PAGE

Sometimes, in order to be taken seriously or be noticed, people need to do or say something rousing, radical or out of the ordinary especially when there is a need, or a desire, to change things. There are probably some strong feelings that ‘Action’ needs to be taken – bear in mind, however, that the status quo can be very hard to awaken, change or shift. As this is a ‘Radical Magazine’ it can lead to moves that are disruptive or even threatening to stability or security in some measure. Further, the ‘Action’ that is being called for can lead to less than desirable outcomes. Events that unfold can be highly charged emotionally. This Symbol speaks of calling for or being motivated for change. Revolution and revolutionaries come in all shapes and sizes; some instigate major changes in society, others are more into bucking the system and creating mini reforms in their own back yards. Although you may not be absolutely sure which direction to take, someone is likely to be broadcasting messages. Look further within for the change in direction you need. Dramatizing one’s situation can lead to overreaction, but doing nothing can lead to inertia and things staying exactly the same. Listening may be important.

Keywords: Speaking one’s mind. Messages and news that awakes or shocks. The need for reform. Challenging outlooks. Breaking out of constraints. The media. Issues of propaganda. Headlines that promise more than they deliver. Revolutions. Social or emotional causes. Conspiracy theories. Printing presses. Publishing. Publicity. Gaining attention. Speaking one’s truth without fear of consequences.

The Caution: Being argumentative. Arousing others for selfish reasons. Distortions of the truth. Misinformation and disinformation. Getting the whole picture wrong. Exploitation of situations. Overstating messages. Biased information. Old and outworn news.

Mercury symbolizes: Mind, thought, communication, memory, expression, intelligence. News, exchanges, chatting, conversations, short journeys, connections with others, telephones, emails, siblings, neighbors, the reasoning mind. Day-to-day activities. Cars, keys, small animals.

Venus is on Gemini 26: WINTER FROST IN THE WOODS

‘Winter Frost in the Woods’ shows things being in a dormant stage. In the woods, winter is a time when energy is being used to reinforce the roots, to strengthen the support system and to build up the nourishment that’s needed for the coming seasonal growth and the fruits of spring and summer. There is no point trying to force growth now, it is not possible, nor is it useful. This is not to say that this is not a valuable time. It is. It can be very easy to lose sight of the importance of each “season”.

Keywords: The calm before the dawn. The silence inherent in cold, barren times. Barren and cold feelings. Refrigeration and freezing. Serenity. Surviving cold conditions. Feeling like one’s on the outside. Being lost in the wilderness. Beautiful surrounds. Lack of fertility. Things freezing up. The need to rug up. Hibernation. Icicles. Battling through hard times. Depression. Growth that is halted or held up. The inevitability of change.

The Caution: Denying the natural flow of the season by trying to rush things. Feeling “frozen out”, lost and neglected. Feeling dead lost and buried. Chills in the air. Keeping one’s feelings on ice. Immobility. Not knowing where to find warmth or nourishment. Losing faith. Infertility. Frigid responses. Stagnation. Loss of love and light. Stunted growth.

The Quest Degree (the degree after) of Venus is Gemini 27: A YOUNG GYPSY EMERGING FROM THE WOODS GAZES AT FAR CITIES

After spending some time in the Winter Frost In The Woods, the ‘Young Gypsy Emerging From the Woods Gazes at Far Cities’ shows someone who is preparing to leave their home, their family and what is familiar to them and move out into a new world. Only so much can be achieved living in the ‘Woods’ and there’s the need, or the desire, to move to ‘Far Cities’. The ‘Gypsy’ is somehow “different”, having things about their background or upbringing that have kept them away from the mainstream. The ‘Gypsy’ also brings to mind music, dancing, the gift of prophecy and a sense of the vibrancy and joy of life.

Venus here is right opposite the Galactic Centre – said to be a point where we create our own realities – a connection to the ‘Mind Of God’.

Keywords: Dreaming of becoming part of something far-off. Streetwise lessons. New perspectives arising from larger realities. The steps from bohemian to corporate and vice-versa. Learning about credentials, using them to advantage. Things that are far off and distant. Ambition. Prophesy, astrology and tarot. Clairvoyance. Gypsies. Leaving family. Moving out on one’s own.

The Caution: Dissatisfaction and always looking elsewhere. A feeling of being “cast out”. Feeling alienated even amongst friends. Finding your self a long way from home. Difficulty turning back. Being in limbo with a lack of ambition. Not having a family to turn to.

Venus symbolizes: Relatedness, cooperation, what attracts you. The experience of sweetness, beauty or delight. Social interactions, love, friends, how you reach out to people. Feminine persona, relationship with mother and females. Money, possessions, sense of values.

Mars is on Taurus 25: A LARGE WELL-KEPT PUBLIC PARK

‘A Large Public Park’ implies a big area of land that has been kept aside from development for the enjoyment of the ‘Public’. The fact that it is ‘Well-Kept’ shows that the ‘Park’ has gardens and public amenities, is well looked after and clean of mess and rubbish. People are able to meet together, play ball, lie in the sun and, perhaps, walk their dog in safety. There’s lots of room to move and things are in their rightful place. In many ways our society is a ‘Public Park’ and we each play a part in its beauty and success, whether our contribution is by working on the gardens or enjoying the amenities. You are part of something important, but you are only a small part or something much larger. As everyone works together, you will be able to create a useful and lasting result that will eventually benefit the whole community. The question is: are you in a balanced state of work and play? Although there is probably a lot of work that needs to be done, fun needs to be given its priorities as much as work and duty. Taking notice of the fact that Mars is here may lead to a feeling of being ‘fenced-in’ and having to live too closely (or too remotely) with others.

Keywords: Paying attention to appearances. People living in peace. Space for everyone. People taking to the streets. Park benches, swings, slippery dips and sandpits. Charities and their work. Maintaining order. Gardens and gardening. Town planning. Work of the few for the pleasure of the many. Appearances kept immaculate. Golf and other sports. Picnics. Eating alfresco. Meeting others out in the open. Large plots of land. Acreage. Subdividing and development. Suburbia.

The Caution: Difficulty in finding privacy. People continually coming by. Having so much to look after without much help. Public possessions being sold off for the benefit of a few. Mugging and robberies. Littering and graffiti.

Mars symbolizes: Drive, determination or agenda, how you get to your goals. How you express and handle anger, ambition, assertion of self and ability to step forward. The male principle, sexuality, the ability to step up to the plate when one needs to. Fight or flight.

Jupiter is on Leo 14: CHERUB-LIKE, A HUMAN SOUL WHISPERS INTO EVERY RECEPTIVE EAR, SEEKING TO MANIFEST

Jupiter is exactly t-squaring this full Moon, which means it is squaring both the Moon and the Sun. This can lead to excesses such as overspending, overeating, over talking, etc… just generally over doing things. This is a Symbol of the desire to be heard and taken seriously, and, it can also be about hearing messages and it can indicate the need to listen to one’s intuition. This ‘Human Soul’ is trying to find a ‘Receptive Ear’, someone who will listen to or understand what’s being said, perhaps to spur others to take some kind of action. Something that has been waiting to be ‘Manifested’, said, heard or realized could come out quite suddenly.

Keywords: New realizations and impulses. Seeking to have one’s voice heard. Messages from the other side. Reincarnation. Channelling information. Spirit descending, wishing to make itself known. Whispering. Passing on news and messages. Seeking embodiment. Trans-personal urges. Cherubs and spirits. Ears and hearing. The urge to accomplish something. Compassion. Manifesting intention.

The Caution: Confusing voices. Signs of instability or madness. Feeling that if one isn’t heard, they will miss out. A need to be noticed and acknowledged. Not feeling like one can speak up. Shouting and making a spectacle. Trying to convince others of something. Misleading statements.

Jupiter symbolizes: The big picture, expansion, exploration, aspirations, religious and philosophical ideals, issues to do with traveling, foreign lands, people and traditions, culture, education, generosity, luck, abundance, support, optimism. Insight through knowledge and wisdom.

Saturn is retrograde on Sagittarius 4: A LITTLE CHILD LEARNING TO WALK WITH THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF PARENTS

This Symbol implies the necessity of those older to be teachers, exemplars or guides to the younger or less experienced. The “Child” needs the “Encouragement” of “Parents” in order to feel supported or guided. At times, you are likely to fulfill the roles of child or parent to others. With Saturn here, you may be moving into new phases of learning that, despite all your previous experience, are surprisingly difficult. Patience and step-by-step progress is needed, as is a guiding hand and a kind word or two. There may be those around you that don’t take your difficulties or responsibility seriously, but your struggles will pay off, particularly if you care and share. The ‘Child’ needs the support of the ‘Parents’ in order to learn how to do many of the most basic things, and, needs guidance, love and encouragement in order to grow and have faith in his or her own abilities. Sometimes we have the ‘Encouragement’ and support of our elders, other times not. The ‘Parents’ can’t be there all the time to catch the ‘Little Child’ if it falls, so the ‘Little Child’ must learn to master the steps that are needed in order to become an independent and confident grown-up.

Keywords: Making genuine progress or always tripping over. Instinctive determination to get on with the job. People taking delight in the smallest progress. Baby steps leading to big things. Trying out and accepting one’s individuality. Help from authorities. Seeking guidance and advice. Feeling mother earth under your feet. Parental assistance. Walking on new ground.

The Caution: Relying on skills not yet mastered. Not taking the initiative to put one’s self forward. Putting your self at risk rather than accepting help. Acting like one is incompetent in order to draw sympathy and/or help. Meddling and “assisting” when one should be on the sidelines, encouraging. Knowing that someone is going to “trip over” and not offering help.

Saturn symbolizes: Authority, rules, discipline and obligation The heavy stuff. What we fear, loss, karma, aging, the establishment, orthodoxy, tradition, status, the concept of time, walls, boundaries, limits, older people, restrictions, patience, conquering difficulties.

The Karmic Degree for Saturn is Sagittarius 3: TWO MEN PLAYING CHESS

Straight after the full Moon, Saturn will retrograde onto ‘Two Men Playing Chess’. This is an image of people concentrating and planning moves in order to defeat their opponent in a game. They have to be quiet, focused and attuned to what it is they’re doing if they want to succeed. The theme of a ‘Chess’ game is to knock the opponent out, to literally kill the king, and to take his position and his territory. There can be a certain degree of tension in the air as each tries to “checkmate” the other. First, one may appear to be “winning”, and then the other may make a sudden, sometimes completely unexpected or unforeseen move, get the upper hand and take the whole game. Alternatively, it could be an all-out slaughter if one person is more practised or efficient at the game than the other.

This Symbol shows the ability, or the necessity, to indulge in strategic games, arguments or competitions. There can be a strong sense of knowing how to maneuver situations in order to come out on top, with an eye to possible outcomes. There’s a need to be thoughtful and cautious, taking into account the wider picture. Impulsive acts with no forward planning can be risky. It probably pays to not show your weak side, but do everything with the possible objective of winning. It can be difficult to relax in competitive environments; one often feels that they can’t let their guard down because they might be taken advantage of. Take one step at a time and move with purpose and forethought.

Keywords: Strategic competition. Seeing the picture several moves ahead. Arguments that can go on and on. Finding justification for being combative. Throwing down the gauntlet to the other. Taking lives. The need for peacekeeping. War strategies. Matching wits. Facing each other head on. Being royalty or being a mere pawn. Tactical maneuvers. Lawsuits. Custody. Having the bigger stick. Divorce. Disputes. Wit against wit.

The Caution: Depending on pure luck. Underestimating the opponent’s skill or strategy. Arguments and arguing for the sake of it. Bickering and trying to get the better of the other. Always taking an opposing side, no matter what is really happening.

Uranus is on Aries 18: AN EMPTY HAMMOCK HANGS BETWEEN TWO LOVELY TREES

This Symbol shows issues of working hard versus taking time out to relax. If you find that you are being too hard on yourself, this Symbol implies that you need to know when to stop, rest and recuperate. Regardless of how much one has to do, it’s no crime to stop to regain your strength. You needn’t sacrifice your opportunity to rest for someone else. Everyone is entitled to their share of peace and pleasure. How about lounging around and taking it easy for a change? Sometimes you need a chance to day dream. On the other hand, have you been slacking off and not getting into what you could be doing?

Keywords: Detachment. Abandonment. Having too much to do to be able to rest. Issues to do with sleep. Sleeping difficulties. Planning for days off or for retirement. Hustle and bustle. Memories of loved ones. Lounging or sitting under trees. Having permission to stop. Time out. Missing a lover. Beds, sheets, pillows, sofas. A favorite chair. Holidays. Trees and gardens.

The Caution: Deliberately pushing when in need of rest OR not being involved in life’s complexities. Dodging responsibilities. Having nowhere to stay rest or retire. Neglecting time for oneself. Too much work and no play. Areas of life which are not fulfilled. Having so much work there’s no time for relationships. Always being on the go.

Uranus symbolizes: The unexpected, things that are individual or ‘different’. Charged, energetic dynamics, electricity, light, lightning bolts, sudden changes, those who live on the fringe of society. Sudden turns and twists of fate. Rebellion, surprises, liberation, freedom.

Neptune is on Pisces 10: AN AVIATOR IN THE CLOUDS

This shows being able to stay on course, not allowing distractions or difficult or confusing issues to deter you from your destination. Perhaps you need to rise above and transcend the more nitty-gritty realities of earthly existence and its difficulties, just be aware that you may not be seeing the complete picture very clearly sometimes. If you take special notice, you may be able to see through illusions, seeing past the surface appearances to things that others miss. You may be able to rely on your spiritual, creative or intellectual skills to take you above and beyond those things that others have to deal with. However, you may also be evading the real truth.

Keywords: Elevated views. Always seeing the best in people and things. Peace and tranquility. The longing for transcendence. Not seeing limitations. Being in a refined “head space”. Mastery. Flight, planes, pilots. Avoidance of time constraints. Pollyanna attitudes. Free flights of fantasy and escapism. The need for accurate navigation. Being in charge of the controls. Seeking higher truths. Maps. Compasses. Global satellite positioning. Clouds. Mist and fog. Hang-gliding. Don’t “over-control” like a novice pilot. Stay loose enough from the flow that you can observe it, modify, and improve it. Donald Rumsfeld

The Caution: Sailing through difficulties or missing what’s really going on. Escapist use of alcohol and drugs, etc. Lack of grounded energy or reality. Being unearthed. Escaping responsibilities. Isolating oneself. Completely missing the point. Feeling high and mighty and above everyone else, particularly with intellectual skills. Wrong turns. Missing the signs. Feeling like you’re living in a fog. Disconnecting from others, leading to isolation. Losing the plot. Taking huge risks. One’s head being separate from the body.

No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings. William Blake

Flying might not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price. Amelia Eahrhart

Neptune symbolizes: Mystical, “out there,” spirituality and con artists. Dreams, mysteries, mystics and religious issues. Intuition, clairvoyance, seeing into the invisible. Addictive, chaotic, charming, deceptive, illusory, co dependent, sensory awareness.

Pluto is retrograde on Capricorn 16: SCHOOL GROUNDS FILLED WITH BOYS AND GIRLS IN GYMNASIUM SUITS

This degree shows being vibrant and alive and in the physical body with enthusiasm and excitement about life and the future. The “Gymnasium Suits” shows the need to get active and to stay active, to have time in your life to drop into the physical body and enjoy it. If you’ve been neglecting your physical well-being, it is good to reestablish that affinity with your vitality. Spontaneous enthusiasm and the joy of being ‘alive’ can regenerate and revive and bring about carefree contact with like minded people. The trick is to bring some form of physical discipline into your life while enjoying it and not feeling forced to do what you don’t want to do.’School Grounds Filled With Boys and Girls in Gymnasium Suits’ brings to mind images of youthful people, doing their exercises, playing with and enjoying each other on a physical level. The ‘Boys and Girls’ learn how to interact with each other in the ‘School Grounds’. There is the sense that they are having fun, regardless of their individual level of fitness. Some will be very good at sports and be the stars in the ‘Gym’ whilst others are there because they want to join in the fun or because they are instructed to be there and have no choice. Many of their relationship lessons are first learnt here.

Keywords: Developing muscular coordination. Sexual energy, attraction or satisfaction. Playing, marching, competition, rivalry. Singing songs of unity. New anthems for the young. The search for identity. Being able to accomplish things on the physical level. Physical fitness. Uniforms and uniformity. Gymnasiums. Exercise equipment. Conscription. Being one of many. Learning how to get along with the opposite sex. Bodybuilding. Level playing fields.

The Caution: Physical showing off for sexual attention. Relationships based on purely physical or sexual attraction. Having to do things that one isn’t capable of physically doing. Not joining in.

Pluto symbolizes: Unconscious motivations, depth psychology, history. Sex, procreation at a deep level, intensity, profound emotions, taking hold of one’s power. Being king or queen of one’s underworld. Strength, survival mode instincts. Big money. Big power. The Plutocracy.

Chiron is on Pisces 21: A LITTLE WHITE LAMB, A CHILD AND A CHINESE SERVANT

This is a Symbol that shows the innocence and purity of both childhood and the animal realm. The ‘Child’ is symbolic of potential and curiosity and the need for care and supervision; and the ‘Chinese Servant’ shows the freedom for self-development apart from family influence or dominance. The ‘Little White Lamb’ is of no threat to the ‘Child’ even if things get out of control. The ‘Chinese Servant’ shows that the safety concerns of the ‘Child’ and, indeed, also of the ‘Lamb’, will be watched over and monitored. Being a ‘Chinese Servant’, the care will probably be more lenient than if a parent were involved. There is likely to be more consideration of the value of life experience and lessons rather than domination and discipline. The ‘Child’ pictured may need the guidance, help and nurturance of the ‘Chinese Servant’ because of special needs or because the parents are too busy with their own lives to provide childcare. This shows being able to provide care, safety and comfort to those who need it. The “Child” has a “Servant”; he is well looked after. He also has a “Little White Lamb”, an animal companion, one he can be with, hug and enjoy. In our early years it was the sense of touch that was initially satisfied. If you felt cradled and comfortable, you could grow knowing that all was safe and well. You could find yourself in a place of privilege; cradled from those things that could hurt or challenge you, having someone to look after you. Conversely, you could be the one who’s always there for others, supporting and loving them regardless of who they are or where they’re from.

Keywords: Being protected by higher, more aware, energies. The privileges money and social status bring. Awareness of the different levels of situations. Differing perspectives. Helpers, servants. Care. Being watched over. Watchfulness. Pets and animals. The supervision of youngsters. Purity of vision. Caring for the child within.

The Caution: Social incompatibility. Purity merely by nature of wealth. Not having to grow up because of the social environment. Not taking responsibility for one’s self. Acting like a brat and getting away with it.

Chiron symbolizes: Our wounds and it is known as The Wounded Healer, it also shows The Stories That We Tell Ourselves, it is where we have to focus on healing, it can show things that are out of shape or misplaced or in need of repair.

The Moon’s North Node is on Libra 10: A CANOE IS APPROACHING SAFETY THROUGH DANGEROUS WATERS

This Symbol speaks of getting through difficult times in life and coming out the other side. It also infers being able to bring calm reassurance that a time of calm is approaching. The difficulties may have been arduous, but they’ve added to your experience to cope with any difficult times that are yet to come. The calm is a time to review what has past and how you’ve come through difficult straits. Realizing that you’re on safe ground brings a sense of relief, and it will give you time to catch your breath. You may be the kind to go white water rafting in order to stir up your life somewhat; if there’s nothing whipping up around you, you may go looking for it.

Keywords: The calm after the storm. Navigating difficult straits and coming out okay. White water rafting. Skydiving and other risky activities. Rough waters vs. plain sailing. Recovery. Remission. Light at the end of the tunnel. Personal initiations. Trials of test and defeat. Being stoic. Retaining dignity and graciousness. Exercising care and restraint. Avoiding over exaggerated enthusiasm. Deliverance on many levels. Salvation. Staying on track.

The Caution: Neglecting to take a time to rest. Taking foolhardy risks, believing that all will be okay. Pre-empting situations without completing things in the present. Thinking that “lightning never strikes in the same place twice”. Shooting more rapids. Freezing up and not moving.

The Moon’s North Node symbolizes: This is known as quite a ‘karmic point’ (although all planets and points in a chart can be’karmic’). One’s destiny in this life. The things you are meant to integrate, move towards, become. Destined relationships and relationship issues can show up here.

The Moon’s South Node is on Aries 10: A TEACHER GIVES NEW SYMBOLIC FORMS TO TRADITIONAL IMAGES

This Symbol shows someone who can take a thing or a situation and transform and update it. The ‘Traditional Images’ can be ideas, objects, icons, beliefs; things we are familiar with. That a ‘Teacher Gives New Symbolic Forms’ shows the ability to restructure, reinterpret and present them more in tune with the times. It indicates a need for a fresh and revitalized perspective on things. This is what Marc Edmund Jones and Elsie Wheeler did with the Sabian Symbol “experiment”.

This Symbol implies that you have ideas or a message to spread, but you may be holding back because you think it has been done before – however, things done by you will have your personal stamp on them and they are best done your own way. Bring out something fresh and new and it will also revitalize those around you. Looking at things in a different light, you’ll revision old thought forms with new ones. Try to find new solutions to old ideas – you could revolutionize something. Be prepared to take a different stance or look at things from a new and fresh perspective. Don’t stick to limitations, either your own or those others place on you.

Keywords: New dimensions breaking old thought forms or behavior. Quantum science. Innovation and re-creation. Working with educational tools. Finding new inspiration. Being “ahead of one’s time”. New-age consciousness. Ideas out of the past for the future. Sticking one’s neck out. Rewriting the book.

The Caution: Rejecting old ideas because they are old instead of reforming them. Throwing things of worth out, without examining them. Having little respect for things that are really worthwhile or traditional. Sticking with the tried and true, no matter what. Thinking that no one will be interested in your ideas. Heresy. Dogma.

The Moon’s South Node symbolizes: Past karmic patterns to be overcome, can be habits that are good, but can describe things, relationships, issues that you need to let go of, or, hold you back from manifesting your true destiny. Relationships that feel karmic and difficult, memories from the past.

Honesty is the Best Policy

May 2015 raises the issue of relationship: with ourselves, each other and our environment both near and far. We simply cannot go it alone, is the basic message of this month, nor can we expect others to do it for us. It is time to take full responsibility for ourselves whilst simultaneously recognising that we do nothing in isolation. Every thought, word and deed impacts and is impacted by everyone and everything around us. We act both as individuals and as a collective, standing alone and forever entwined. Within this central paradox of the human condition is found the mystery of the divine which expresses itself through us, as us and aside from us. Recognising ourselves as both instruments of creation and creators in our own right is necessary now, for we must, in coming months, be clear in our actions, knowing what is needed to further the common good rather than focusing only on what serves our personal gain. The two cannot be separated now, for if personal gain contravenes the common good we will reap only isolation. And if the common good appears as an obstacle to personal gain a realignment of priorities may be required.

The coming month brings a gradual shift in energy from the earthy physicality of April to a more changeable, cerebral energy as first Mercury (1st May), then Mars (12th May), then the Sun (21st May) enter airy Gemini. This contact-driven sign which seeks to communicate and connect, rarely settling anywhere for too long before attention is drawn to the next thing, reminds us to look up and around, to interact with those people, places and possibilities that co-exist all around us. The web of connectivity which binds us to each other and all beings, is as if illuminated now like never before. It needs our awareness and consideration: a wakeful response to the unavoidable truth that we are, indeed, one.

Whilst April saw us learning to live with an unknown future, in May we begin to seek answers and forge some plans. There is movement afoot and progress. The key issue, however, remains the direction and nature of progress made. ‘Don’t jump the gun’ is still good advice despite the gathering of planets in flexible Gemini. It is important to honour process now, not side-step it to more quickly reach our desired destination. We will get to where we’re going when we get there and we may not find out where it is until we do. In the meantime, May offers insight which will help optimise choices to be made in the coming months.

A Full Moon in Scorpio on 4th May demands much but offers more. It reminds us that what we refuse to acknowledge in ourselves does not fade away but instead seeps out here and there. The human psyche may be adept at avoidance when necessary, but we do not simply eradicate something from our energy field purely by wishing it away. Only by facing who and what we are can we change. We cannot complete a puzzle without looking at it, nor can we recreate ourselves without knowing the raw materials available for the task. This Moon shines her light on the darkest places within, reminding us that what we find in the shadows deserves our love and attention as much as anything we wilfully bring into the light. Revelations around the time of this Moon will inform the rest of the month, for what we see now is truth. It may not be palatable but we must acknowledge it nonetheless, refusing to turn away. In it are revealed the components for the next phase of our journey. Not nice and shiny newly polished personality parts that we happily place on display, but the tarnished, blackened artefacts we prefer to overlook or at least set aside for another day. That other day is now. Our future creativity relies upon our willingness to unleash the shadow and allow it expression in the light of awareness. This is how we truly come to know ourselves as whole.

Being whole, complete, integrated is a significant theme this month. It is not that we must be it, but that we must commit to the process of becoming it. This is something altogether different! It takes time and sometimes trouble, a willingness to be honest and open, vulnerable. A commitment to wholeness is a commitment to being unpopular at times, sometimes out of step, often challenged and challenging. It is not an easy ride but it is a liberating one and May places fuel in our spiritual tanks for the journey ahead. We may encounter a number of challenges, even crises, this month. Each, when lived fully with as much awareness as possible, has the capacity to take us ever deeper into the sacred space within, where dwells all the wisdom we could ever need. Each moment of this month is geared to bringing out of us what we already know, what already lives, hidden but vibrant, inside.

We may find ourselves covering familiar ground, encountering patterns we thought were left behind. But there’s no need for alarm. We haven’t slipped back into old ways and out of new possibilities. Instead we can demonstrate our willingness to change by responding to familiar dynamics in wholly new ways. There is something of an experimental air about this process, an opportunity to ‘act as if’ and see what happens. If you encounter old problems, familiar feelings, that same old argument with the same old person or a recurring obstacle you just can’t seem to surmount, resolve to try a different response, adopt a different attitude. If you always did ‘X’ try ‘Y’ for a change. Dare to be different, to stray from the script, ad lib for a while and see what happens. So little is set in stone right now that it would be a waste to stick with tried and tested methods, especially when they have gotten us nowhere fast before! Only by daring to be someone we haven’t yet been can we discover the full range of options available to us. Only in trying out the new can we discover what truly makes our heart sing in resonance and our spirit rise up to cry freedom.

From 10th May to the month end Asteroid Juno is conjunct Jupiter. In myth Juno and Jupiter were husband and wife, so this astrological alignment once again raises the issue of relationship and the spectre of the sacred marriage within and without. Juno speaks of commitment which endures and those areas of life in which a long term perspective is of most value. For some it may not be a love relationship but instead a dedication to work or family. There may be a cause that consumes us or a deep desire whose fulfilment has become the purpose of our life. In our hearts we each know where Juno calls us into long term commitment and why. We may resist at times, preferring a shorter and more expedient route, but she forever reminds us that some of the best results mature over time and develop in layers. They simply cannot be spun out of thin air on a whim and a prayer, for the process is as important as the outcome. In her conjunction with Jupiter, Juno invites reflection on where and why we commit. What do we seek by doing so and whose purpose do we serve? An alignment with Pluto in Capricorn reminds us that the most powerful commitments are those in which we are prepared to offer ourselves up to the process rather than seek the outcome, allowing the fusion of our energy with that of another person, place or cause, to work its magic deep within us.

Likewise, if we harbour misplaced commitments some cutting of ties may be necessary. Time and energy are too precious to waste in places parched of life-giving spirit. We are all called, this month, to cast-aside rose-tinted glasses and take a long, hard look at where we expend our energy and why. Doing so now will give us a head start when Saturn begins to square Neptune later this year and illusions without substance dissolve like melting snow. A New Moon in Taurus on 18th May offers pragmatism together with intuitive knowing about where true soul connections are found. It is these we must nurture in the coming months as we approach the Saturn/Neptune alignment which will take us through 2016. We are currently choosing our teams and finding our tribe. They may not turn out to be who we anticipated but as we’ve already seen, this is a time of doing things differently, not repeating old patterns whilst hoping for new results. The future is still unformed and up for grabs. We are creating it here and now as we speak, think, act and feel. This month we can reflect on who we want beside us in this next creative phase.

Mercury turns retrograde in Gemini on 19th May (until 11th June), supporting just such reflection. Rather than disrupting communication this Mercury enhances it if we truly seek for honest exchange rather than surface platitudes. It shows us where we align with others and where our paths diverge; where we need the lightest touch, moving on without so much as a backward glance, and where we need to connect and engage to establish deeper intimacy. If we find ourselves frustrated by communication breakdown or growing inter-personal distance, it may well be that the distance was always there but is simply more obvious now and can no longer be ignored.

Once the Sun enters Gemini on 21st May we can better access the flexibility needed to rapidly assess the world around us and make the best decisions accordingly. A square between Neptune and Mars from 21st to the month end, incorporating Mercury from 26th, requires careful handling. Honesty is called for, especially the risky kind. Whatever we try to hide or deny at this point will make itself doubly felt in a month’s time when Mercury travels direct across the same zodiac degrees. Far better that we deal with things now, no matter how difficult it may seem. Honesty is most definitely the best policy as May comes to an end, which is especially worth bearing in mind if it is someone else’s honesty we would rather avoid! Thoughts and feelings shared authentically now, even if tough to hear, lay the groundwork for deeper intimacy in due course. If there is much to be aired at this point it is because much has been avoided previously. How we proceed from here, especially in our most significant relationships, rests upon how well we embrace the current challenge to be straight, honest and true in all that we say and all that we do.

Honesty sounds simple but can be incredibly hard at times! We barely notice the petty deceptions and denials of our everyday consciousness, so familiar we become with their presence. But as May comes to a close they will become increasingly evident, as will the consequences of allowing them free reign. It is time to take ourselves in hand, express what we think, how we feel and invite others to do the same. If we can all do this with the courageous compassion fitting of a spiritual warrior who pursues deep truth above all else, we can emerge victorious together, honouring the priceless value of both sharing and receiving truth with an open heart and an expansive mind. Your truth, my truth, personal and ultimate truth. All need to be aired. In doing so we meet ourselves and each other, deepen our connections and foster the trust and intimacy necessary for the road ahead.

Let’s Talk Witch – The Full Moon

Moon & Witch Comments & Graphics

The Full Moon

About 15 days after the after the New Moon, the Full Moon first appears. At this point the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun, so she rises around sunset and sets around dawn.

The Sun shines fully on her face and tides are at their extremes again. Some may sense the pull of the Sun from one direction, and the Moon from the opposite, and their energy will feel a bit scattered.

Hold a party or an event, but be aware that the energy level is likely to be high and anything troublesome is likely to surface. Cook and stock up the freezer. Pay special attention to your creative ventures and your dreams.

This is a good time to try out forms of divinations such as scrying or tarot. Reflect about your goals, feelings and matters that have to do with relationship and family. It is also good for transformations, psychic abilities, strength, love, power and fertility.

The Full Moon is also an excellent time to cleanse, purify and charge your crystals. Lay them out so that the moonlight can hit them; if you can do so safely, leave them outside. If not, find a windowsill that catches the moonlight. Don’t just stop at crystals though, your magical tools will also benefit from soaking up the power of the moonlight.

As the Full Moon just passes, the time arrives to put the finishing touches on what you have been doing and to get ready for the quieter time to come. Enjoy beauty and art, listen to music. If you have argued with someone but do not feel the issues are really vital, make up now.

If you live near the sea the Full Moon is a wonderful time to visit the shoreline and (if safe and legal to do so) build a small fire. Collect small pieces of driftwood to build your fire and, as you lay each piece onto the fire, add a wish. Once the fire is burning nicely, cast offerings into the flames as gifts to the Moon Goddess, such as herbs, flowers and leaves. Sit and watch as the fire burns. If you don’t live near the sea you could turn this into a visualisation for a Full Moon meditation.

The Hare Moon

Beltane Comments & Graphics
The Hare Moon

The Fifth Esbat or full moon after Yule is the Hare Moon. A time of self-control and physical manifestation, it represents the fertile nature of the Goddess coming into being. The Hare Moon is a time of learning control over your physical manifestations. Hara, which means “the seat of power,” is the root of the word hare.

Spell for Creativity ( part 3) A Spell to Change Outmoded Patterns

Once you’ve identified the patterns you want to change in your life, make one small gesture that expresses your intent. Then, on the first night of the Full Moon, jot down your desire on a sheet of paper, in ink of a color that seems appropriate for what you want. For instance, if your wish is to be more creative with your financial investments, then use green ink. Or, if you want to be more creative in your professional life, use gold ink. Then light two candles of a close or matching color and read your wish out loud three times. Back the words with emotion— say them as if you mean them. Tuck your written desire under a power object and let the candles burn out naturally. On the second night of the Full Moon, light two more candles of the same color. Repeat your wish three times. Then touch the paper to one of the flames and say: As this paper is burning, I release my wish, my need, My deepest yearnings, A new life’s seed. When the second set of candles has burned out on its own, toss it out.

Moon Names

The Moon has long been as important in deity worship as the Sun has. For many ancient people believed that without the Moon to allow the Sun to sleep the Sun would not return the next day. For many the month or a period of time passing was from one full Moon to the next. Many tribes had a calendar year of thirteen months to coincide with the number of full Moons. The Celtic/Lunar calendar, still in use today, has thirteen months or Moon cycles to it. The lunar calendar is based on a month that has approximately 29.5 days. This is the reason the full Moon dates change from year to year.

Why does each full Moon have many different names? For that we have to consider that the names come from many different parts of the world. When the old ones naming them were alive they did not have the communication access to other people around the globe as we do now. They were isolated in their own portion of the world and only knew things there. Remember it is only been a few hundred years that the Earth was not thought of having an end you could fall off of in to an abyss.

I am sure I have missed a few of the names the Moon is or has been called by so I do not claim this is a complete list. If you know of other names I have not listed please email the name and month it belongs to, to me at ladybeltane@aol.com, so I can put them on. Thanks!

What and when is a Blue Moon?

Most seasons have only three full moons in them, but because of the variation due to the Moons 29.5 day cycle some seasons have four full moons. The term “blue moon” is used to identify these extra full moons.

The Witches Magick for May 19th – Mirror spell to send energy

Celtic & British Isles Graphics
The Witches Magick for May 19th

Mirror spell to send energy

Mirrors are commonly used in magic to protect against negative energy by reflecting it away from oneself, but a mirror’s reflective properties could also potentially be used to direct positive energy toward something or someone. This spell will fill a mirror with your intention and the energy that you wish to send, and then project that energy just as the mirror projects the images it reflects. Remember, if you cast this or any other spell for someone, make sure you have his or her consent first.

Because the mirror is associated with the moon, it’s best to perform mirror spells in accordance with the phases of the moon. A waxing moon could lend its energy to your spell in an effective way, but even better is a full moon, when the moon’s power can amplify your own and when the moon itself is a perfect round circle, like your mirror. A round mirror reflecting a full moon can be especially effective, because the mirror becomes like the moon; not only is it round and bright, but it is reflecting the moon’s light as the moon reflects the sun’s light. The sun’s light reflected in the moon, the moon’s light reflected in your mirror, and your mirror reflecting the moon’s light into the world all culminate to be an extremely powerful piece of magic. As such, this spell is designed to be performed outside on the night of a full moon.

Needed:

A round mirror, preferably frameless or at least without a handle (although a silver-handled mirror could work, as silver is tied to the moon). Your mirror must be cleansed and charged for magical work to be most effective.

A length of ribbon in a color that represents your intentions.

Something that symbolizes the energy that you wish to send (a certain type of flower or herb, a small figurine, a picture, etc.)

Anything you’d like to use in casting your circle. Keep in mind that you only need minimal tools. Much of what we use for indoor rituals is largely unnecessary when working outside, because we are already surrounded by the elements and the power of nature. Processes and paraphernalia that we use to invoke these things are not needed.

Something small to eat and drink.

Find a quiet, private place outside to do your ritual, but be sure that the moon is clearly visible. Cast your circle (again, this does not have to be extravagant) and, if you wish, invoke a moon goddess or simply the Goddess to watch over your rite. Meditate for a moment to center yourself, and instead of grounding to draw energy from the Earth, fill yourself with energy from the moon for use in your ritual. This is not drawing down the moon (invoking the Goddess into oneself), but simply filling yourself with the moon’s gentle energy and power. Stand with your feet firmly planted on the ground. Raise your hands so that your palms are facing outward, and then bring them together so that the thumb and forefinger of both hands join to make a triangle shape. The triangle is significant because of its three points, which suggest the three aspects of the Goddess and her triple moon. Gaze up at the moon through the triangle formed by your hands, and imagine its light being focused through the triangle and onto you. Visualize it filling every area of your body, starting from the top of your head and then moving down to your feet. Imagine that you are glowing with the moon’s light, and feel the moon’s calm, gentle energy suffused throughout your body.

When you are ready, begin the ritual work. Place the mirror in the center of your circle, and position the ribbon around it to make a smaller circle. This circle marked out by the ribbon is an amplifier or charger that will fill the mirror with your intentions. (Note: while this part of the ritual CAN charge the mirror with power, this is not the purpose of this particular process. The mirror will be charged with power immediately afterwards.) Hold the representation of your intentions above the mirror so that it may catch its image. Speak your intentions — for example, you might say, “I will that this mirror be filled with peaceful, loving energy. With my own power and with the power of the moon and the Goddess, I fill this mirror with peace, love, and happiness.” As you speak, imagine that a light or a mist of any color you choose (the ribbon’s color, perhaps) is coming out of the symbol that you’re holding (both the actual, physical thing and the reflection of it in the mirror). Visualize the mist or light filling the ribbon’s circle, charging the mirror with your intentions and the energy that you wish to send. Imagine all of this light or mist going into the mirror, filling it until the circle is clear and all energy is within the mirror.

Then, when the mirror is fully charged with the energy you wish to send, fill the mirror with magical power. Remove the ribbon and hold the charged mirror up to catch the moon’s light. Just as you had filled yourself with the moon’s power, fill the mirror. Imagine light from the moon charging the mirror with power (you may also push the power within yourself into the mirror, as well). Visualize the mirror glowing with moonlight as well as the color of the energy you had put into it. Then, when you are ready, turn so that the mirror is facing the direction where you wish to send the energy. If you are sending it to a friend, point the mirror in the direction where you know his or her house to be. If you are not sure which direction that is, you might choose to point the mirror in one of the four cardinal directions — either West, for its associations with water (which, of course, is closely tied to the moon), or any direction that is relevant to your intentions. For example, if you are sending love, you might point your mirror south. Or, if you prefer, you can simply hold the mirror directly above your head, to let the energy fly into the universe in all directions. Release the energy in a burst of power and feel it leaving the mirror, flying out toward its destination. Know that it will do the work that you sent it out to do.

Then, conclude your ritual. Ground any extra energy into the Earth. Have a little bit to eat and drink. If you had invoked a deity to preside over your rite, thank them and present an offering to show your gratitude, and then say farewell. Thank the moon, close your circle, and it is done.

(You may choose to use variations on the processes in this ritual — for example, instead of reflecting an object in the mirror to fill it with your intentions, you might like to anoint and charge a candle and then reflect its flame in the mirror. You can alter this ritual however you like, and however you think would work best for you.)

Current Moon Phase for May 16th – Full Moon

Full Moon

(waning/86% of illumination)

A veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Traditionally, the Full Moon phase stirs emotion, and this is because when you “see” what is happening, you may become upset if you’re experiencing the “same ole, same ole” — rather than the things you would like. If the Full Moon phase is a disappointment, on the next New Moon it’s time to take creative action in the direction of your dreams.

You may not even notice that you have taken on too much until it’s too late to change your course. Nevertheless, it’s still wise to reconsider your plans and establish new priorities once you realize that you made a mistake. Taking responsibility for your actions is the right thing to do.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

Your daily routine has a strong impact on your overall health and the current stress prompts you to stop and consider how to make things better. But with today’s Scorpio Full Moon shining in your 6th House of Routine, it’s counterproductive to turn your life upside down all at once. Make small improvements without creating chaos. Even a slight upgrade to your exercise regimen or a minor modification to your diet could be enough to add an extra bounce to your step.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

You might take a relationship too seriously now and try to transform a casual friendship into a full-blown romance. It seems as if it would be easier to lighten the emotional weight, but the unrelenting Scorpio Full Moon’s presence in your 5th House of Love may mean that your feelings are beyond your conscious control. Don’t try to redirect what is in your heart; just let the currents carry you along for the ride today. Remember, it’s prudent to observe your changing desires without impulsively acting on every whim.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

You may be misled by a close friend or family member who charms you with their convincing sales pitch. It isn’t that you’re naturally gullible, but the Scorpio Full Moon occurring in your 4th House of Home and Family encourages you to trust others if they carry an air of authority. Exercise caution by doing your research before making any promises you might later regret. Reining in your enthusiasm is your best move until you can determine what’s really going on.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Your big ideas could sweep you off your feet today. You might attempt to keep everything in a practical perspective but today’s Scorpio Full Moon lights up your 3rd House of Communication, bending your thoughts out of shape. Thankfully, by exercising a little self-restraint, you can minimize problems that arise from inflating a sensible strategy into an overextended one. Wait until next week to finalize your plans. In the meantime, explore all the possibilities without the pressure of commitment.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

You might need to be conservative about spending money on discretionary activities while the magnetic Scorpio Full Moon stretches your 2nd House of Resources out of shape. However, you still may be tempted to purchase something prior to analyzing the real costs. If you’re unsure of what to do, ask for advice from a trustworthy friend or a financial expert. Thankfully, involving someone else in your decision-making process will bring clarity as to whether or not you can really afford to satisfy your desires now.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

It seems as if time has run out, making you aware of how much work you have on your plate today. You may decide to postpone a previously scheduled getaway to finish a project that’s on a very tight schedule. Additionally, the passionate Scorpio Full Moon emphasizes the urgency of your feelings as it lights up your 1st House of Self. Although your initial response might be to focus on your responsibilities and delay your fun, there is room for both work and play. Instead of giving up all of your freedom, make a plan that allows you to meet your deadlines and chase your dreams, too.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Your current schedule may be packed, yet you’re still clever enough to turn your work into play. Nevertheless, your day probably won’t unfold the way you planned it since the Scorpio Full Moon activates your 12th House of Destiny. However, your temporary lack of judgment encourages you to get involved in one too many projects now. Ultimately, it’s less stressful for you, and certainly more considerate of everyone else, if you set reasonable limits before making any more promises you can’t keep.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You want to be more involved with others now, even if you don’t have enough time for yourself. You may be overwhelmed with one too many commitments while the intense Scorpio Full Moon aligns with restrictive Saturn in your 11th House of Social Networking. However, avoiding your personal needs only increases your anxiety. Establishing priorities is a sensible place to start, but only if you add your heart’s desires to the list. It’s fine to be attentive to the wishes of everyone else as long as yours don’t get lost in the shuffle.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

You secretly enjoy it when others acknowledge your wisdom by seeking you out for advice. You might even feel hurt if they go to someone else for help first. However, your motives may not be completely clear today with the subjective Full Moon brightening your 10th House of Responsibility. You could be more interested in being distracted from your own problems now than you are in solving anyone else’s predicaments. Fortunately, you can still be of assistance to those you love, no matter what your reasons are in the moment, as long you have their best interests at heart.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

If you have been dreaming about furthering your studies, this is your chance to pursue something completely different from your current interests. You may need to make an important decision about going back to school now that the provocative Scorpio Full Moon illuminates your 9th House of Higher Education. Unfortunately, you could get lost in the logistics of unrealistic goals. But rather than setting your plans aside in frustration, try modifying them to align more closely with reality. Bringing your vision down to earth makes it much easier to manifest.

The Taurus Sun loves simplicity but this opposition from the Moon in intense Scorpio on May 14, 2014 requires a deeper look at self-worth issues. Serious Saturn’s conjunction to the Moon adds a layer of responsibility and, perhaps, doubt and delays. These are most likely to come up around resources, especially money, but relationships are also subject to close scrutiny. Knowing what you need and what you’re willing to give to get it is a key to using this revelatory lunation.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Financial and emotional alliances are up for review with this intense Scorpio Full Moon in your 8th House of Deep Sharing. Patience, persistence and a clear sense of purpose are required with strict Saturn’s conjunction to the Moon. It’s essential to know what you need and to carefully calculate the costs and benefits before putting more of yourself into a project or partnership that’s likely to take more time to settle.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Relationships are highlighted with this demanding Scorpio Full Moon in your 7th House of Others. The lunar conjunction with serious Saturn requires you to be as clear as possible about your expectations and committment. This is not a time for bargains because hard work is the price to pay for a useful personal or professional alliance. It’s better to say no or take more time than to jump into an uncertain situation.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

The focus is on work and health with this Scorpio Full Moon in your 6th House of Health. Minimizing distractions is a key to building up your vitality, developing professional skills and putting your daily routine into order. Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

Romance, creativity and kids are key themes of this powerful Scorpio Full Moon in your 5th House of Self-Expression. A lunar conjunction with serious Saturn puts a premium on patience since issues and opportunities in these areas will take time to resolve. It lands in your 3rd House of Information and Communication where precise speech, deep research and profound study are needed. Focusing your attention on a single subject can be tedious, but is a way to advance your education and finding the intellectual  and emotional strength to address difficult issues.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22)

Money matters count heavily with this Scorpio Full Moon in your 2nd House of Resources. Avoid impulsive expenses that may look like bargains but wind up being costly. Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21)

This Full Moon in your sign is a time of commitment. It lands in your 1st House of Self-Image to focus attention on your health, appearance and attitude. Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

Taking a retreat from the pressures of daily life is appropriate with this Full Moon in your 12th House of Privacy. Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19)

Working within an organization and your relationships with friends could reach a critical point with this Full Moon. It occurs in your 11th House of Groups in the intensely passionate sign Scorpio. Either get control of the situation or consider ending it and putting your energy elsewhere.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18)

Professional matters and public responsibilities could reach a critical point with this potent Scorpio Full Moon in your 10th House of Career. Doing so will make you a more effective leader, which could be a make or break issue in your success at work.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20)

This serious Scorpio Full Moon occurs in your 9th House of Beliefs, Travel and Higher Education, which can run you into some obstacles in these areas. It’s the proximity of strict Saturn to the Moon that might slow you down or cause you to doubt your plans. Serious planning and patience are the medicine that can bolster hope with hard work and take you to that distant place your heart wants to go.

Current Moon Phase for May 14th – Full Moon

Full Moon

(waning/100% illumination)

A veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Traditionally, the Full Moon phase stirs emotion, and this is because when you “see” what is happening, you may become upset if you’re experiencing the “same ole, same ole” — rather than the things you would like. If the Full Moon phase is a disappointment, on the next New Moon it’s time to take creative action in the direction of your dreams.
