As you develop in human form, you go through stages in your life of interacting with self, others and establishing your identity. Ideally, this identity forms an individual that is strong yet flexible, as the beautiful duality pushes you inward and pulls you outward – though another must get pulled inward and pushed outward. The clues of life abound. What is really inward or outward?

Here, family meets function and you find the power of your Light. Family is a grouping that agrees to hold the mirror close. To shine light on the aspects that you are loving and not loving—aspects of your self and life.

Your Family of Light helps you shine.

The diamond is created from coal with great pressure and time. Once the diamond is formed, you shape it into facets that amplify its brilliance, bringing forth what was already within. Your Family of Light helps shape you into many facets of self. Sometimes it feels like pressure as you resist release. Other times it feels like support as you feel nurtured into growth. Much like the seed, you are often surrounded by what seems like darkness, but it is actually the fertile support that helps you bloom into the Light.

Family is all around you. As a child, you feel choiceless. As an adult, you are offered opportunity to create similar family dramas with new characters, or to respond differently to the same pressures that formed you into the jewel you are. Make a choice to Form a Family of Light that supports you into empowerment.

Create relationships on the inner plane and the outer plane that help your brilliance shine. Your relationships on the inner plane will help you understand motivations, insecurities, fears, and new solutions for empowered Love. Your relationships on the outer plane will help you understand healthy boundaries, interaction, and the support of Life.

Forming a Family of Light begins first with those of resonant qualities that support your empowerment. You then begin to recognize that you are involved with co-workers and others that are also calling you to shine. You start to feel your connection with those you will never meet, but are your Family of humanity. You will begin to have the strength to be open to their positive and negative aspects, creating a flow of supportive Love that was not available before.

When you can Love in the face of opposition (even from a distance), you have embodied grace under pressure. The diamond has formed. It is time to release yourself from under the pressure and let all facets of your Light shine.

As we sit to Blast Forming a Family of Light, we are creating relationships with others and the self that teach empowered Love with diamond strength. We are connecting with the collective of life on a conscious level, for we are now strong enough to face the facets of humanity that are reflecting something we haven’t had the courage to Love. We are enhancing our clarity as we recognize the potential creation in every experience. We are strengthening the Love that is natural to humanity, but got lost in fear. We are the reminder of the courage within that Love’s embrace brings into the Light of day. Blast on!

UNICORN LOVE SPELL

This spell is to draw your beloved to you in a relationship that has longevity.

You will need a gold gel pen, a white piece of paper, an envelope, and three drops of honeysuckle oil. Honeysuckle is a twining vine that can be used to bind lovers together.

Begin by writing with the gel pen the name of your beloved three times on the paper. Say the name aloud as you write it.

Fold the paper and insert it into the envelope. Sprinkle the drops of honeysuckle oil on the envelope while you say three times:

May the power of the unicorn shine on our love.

Take you wand and point it at the envelope. Imagine you are the unicorn. Imagine that a burst of rainbow colored light shoots up from the envelope as faeries dance aall around it. Say again:

May the power of the unicorn shine on our love.

Keep the envelope someplace where you can see it and empower it with your mind on a nightly basis.

The Crone

In the mundane world, when people use the word crone, they usually envision a shriveled old woman, bent and wrinkled. It is not a compliment. If you’re a woman and you overhear your blind date referring to you on his cell phone as an old crone, feel free to hit him with your purse. Hard.

But in the Pagan world, the world crone has a completely different meaning. Well, three meanings, actually.

The first meaning is the one that most of us might think of automatically-the crone as the representation of the third embodiment of the triple goddess: maiden, mother, and crone. When the goddess is in her crone guise (such as at Samhain), she has reached the end of the year and the end of a cycle. Wrinkled she may be, but also wise and revered. And as Pagans, we know that eventually this phase too will pass, and the goddess will come around again as maiden, young and beautiful.

The word crone is also used to indicate age and honor in the practice of Witchcraft. A crone is a woman (sorry, guys, but there is no male equivalent-I guess you’ll just have to settle for being called “that old, wise Pagan dude”) who has practiced the Craft for many years and has attained much wisdom and experience along the way. To be called a crone in this context really is a compliment, a term of respect and honor. Personally, I look forward to the day when I am called a crone!

Crone can also be an indication of the stage of a woman’s life. Once a witchy woman has hit menopause (or it has hit her), she is no longer considered to be in the mother stage of her life and has moved on to the status of crone.

Despite what you might think, this is not a bad thing.

Remember that it is only in our modern world that “old” has become a bad word. In days gone by, the older generation was more often looked up to and admired for their knowledge and their wisdom. The Pagan community as a whole is much more likely to still do so.

So if you are a woman of a certain age, enjoy being a crone. Rather than bemoan what you have lost (remember, it will all come along again in your next life), rejoice at when you have gained—wisdom and knowledge and the ability to lord them over the younger generation. Be proud to be a crone; you’ve earned it!

Thursday’s Witchery

Thursday’s Witchery

Today is the day for prosperity work of all kinds. It can also be used for healing work, whether that is a physical healing of an illness or an emotional healing. Also remember that you have to follow up your healing work and prosperity magick and physical action.

I can’t tell you the number of times I have met new witches who complain to me that their prosperity spell or “I need a better job” spell did not work as they expected. They’ll ramble on and on about how much time and money they spent working their magick….but, alas, they had no glorious manifestion of wealth or fabulous job that suddenly dropped out of the sky and landed in their laps.

Then, when I gently ask them, “Did you enchant your resume or application when you filled it out? Did you do a little confidence-boosting spellwork when you went to apply for the job or went to the interview?” typically they give me a blank, confused stare.

Nine times out of ten, their response is, “You mean I have to go out and actually look for the job too?” Um, yes, my dear, you certainly do. Magick follows the path of least resistance, which means it’s going to manifest along the simplest, quickest route. Get out there and hit the pavement. See what you can find. Times are tough and competition for good jobs is fierce, so you need whatever edge you can get. For folks like us, we’re going to get the edge by using our magick and our spellcraft.

Thursdays have such a rich source of magick for us to draw upon that, honestly, the sky is the limit. This is the day associated with the gods of the sky and heavens, after all. Get to know these deities and add their wisdom and magick into your days

Thursday

Jupiter’s (Thor’s) day

The name is derived from Old English and Middle English Thuresday (with loss of -n-, first in northern dialects, from influence of Old Norse Þorsdagr) meaning “Thor’s Day”. Thunor, Donar (German, Donnerstag) and Thor are derived from the name of the Germanic god of thunder, Thunraz, equivalent to Jupiter in the interpretatio romana.

In most Romance languages, the day is named after the Roman god Jupiter, who was the god of sky and thunder. In Latin, the day was known as Iovis Dies, “Jupiter’s Day”. In Latin, the genitive or possessive case of Jupiter was Iovis/Jovis and thus in most Romance languages it became the word for Thursday: Italian giovedì, Spanish jueves, French jeudi, Sardinian jòvia, Catalan dijous, and Romanian joi. This is also reflected in the p-Celtic Welsh dydd Iau.

The astrological and astronomical sign of the planet Jupiter is sometimes used to represent Thursday.

Since the Roman god Jupiter was identified with Thunor (Norse Thor in northern Europe), most Germanic languages name the day after this god: Torsdag in Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish, Hósdagur/Tórsdagur in Faroese, Donnerstag in German or Donderdag in Dutch. Finnish and Northern Sami, both non-Germanic (Uralic) languages, uses the borrowing “Torstai” and “Duorastat”. In the extinct Polabian Slavic language, it was perundan, Perun being the Slavic equivalent of Thor.

There are a number of modern names imitating the naming of Thursday after an equivalent of “Jupiter” in local tradition. In most of the languages of India, the word for Thursday is Guruvar- var meaning day and guru being the style for Bṛhaspati, guru to the gods and regent of the planet Jupiter. In Thai, the word is Wan Pharuehatsabodi—referring to the Hindu deity Bṛhaspati, also associated with Jupiter. En was an old Illyrian deity and in his honor in the Albanian language Thursday is called “Enjte”. In the Nahuatl language, Thursday is Tezcatlipotōnal meaning “day of Tezcatlipoca”.

I AM A WITCH

I am many things,

I am a Daughter, a Lover,

and a Friend.

I am a Teacher, a Student,,

and a Woman.

I am many things,

Wear many costumes,

And act in many ways.

Yet beneath each mask,

I wear, I am a Witch.

I am a Priestess,

I follow the Path,

I follow the Old Tradition,

I follow the Ways of the Wise ,

Ones. I seek to know the God,

I seek to know the Goddess,

I seek to know myself.

I am a Witch.

Though I may only dress up,

For eight Sabbats a year,

And thirteen esbats in turn,

I am always a Witch.

Though I may not always,

dress in black,

Or leave my hair wild and free,

I am still a Witch.

I do not worship Satan,

I’ve never even met him,

Yet many see me as evil,

And magick as a sin.

I do what comes natural,

What the Gods have ,

taught me,

And although it does not,

conform,

I am still a Witch.

The Goddess shows me,

beauty,

The God has shown me ,

life, And Earth, and Air,

And Fire, and Water,

Teach me what is right.

And Spirit in its mystic ways,

Teaches me about myself.

That I am a Witch.

New Moon Spell To Heal A Broken Heart and Start Anew

New Moon Spell To Heal A Broken Heart and Start Anew

Here is a ritual for healing a broken heart, ending a dying relationship and starting anew.

Moon Phase: New

Cast and purify your circle. Call the corners. Invoke Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Clear yourself of all thoughts; open up for your magick.

Say this chant, as many times as you feel you need to:

“Oh, Goddess, take my pain
Steady as a falling rain
Give me courage to end the end
Give me a chance to start new again
Help heal all broken hearts
So that we may easy part
Oh Goddess let my will be done
With no harm to anyone
Blessed Be!
So mote it be!”

Visualize yourself in your mind, happy, ending with ease and starting new and fresh. See new beginnings and happy times ahead for you, with no more pain.

Light black candles to repel negativity, a coral colored candle to help with heart break, and pink candles for relationships.

New Moon Birch Tree Love Spell

New Moon Birch Tree Love Spell

Birch: Known as Lady of the Woods, Paper Birch and White Birch.

Carefully gather strips of the bark at the New Moon. With red Doves Blood ink, write on a birch strip:

“Bring me true love.”

Burn this along with a love incense, saying

“Goddess of love, God of desire,
Bring to me sweet passion’s fire.”

The specific name of a god/goddess may be added. Or cast the bark into a stream or other flowing water, saying:

“Message of love, I set you free,
to capture a love and return to me.”

Remember: Do not use this incantation and ritual directed toward a specific person as that would violate the rule. If a love is to come to you, it must be of that persons free will to do so.

A New Moon Water Wishing Spell

A  New Moon Water Wishing Spell

This spell is best performed outside by a natural well or spring. A cauldron filled with water can work as well.
You will need:

Small Stone or Pebble
Hold the stone in your right hand and concentrate on your wish. Walk deosil (clockwise) around the well/cauldron, three times while saying the following:

“I circle thrice and it’s begun,
I make this wish,
Of Moon and Sun.
With harm to none,
And good to all,
this spell is done.
So mote it be!”

Drop the stone in the water. It is done.
