Lakshimi Puja

 

Lakshimi, Goddess of good fortune and vegetation, was the daughter of Brahma-Prajapati was the wife of Vishnu. As the Empress of the Sea, she was the patron of the fisherman along the south coast and on the islands. Seated on a lotus throne, Lakshimi rises from the ocean waters, serenely smiling. Her annual festival celebrates her continual goodness and helps to ensure an abundant harvest.
