Traditionally entitled “Empress,” this major arcana or “trump” card portrays the energy of the Great Mother. She is Nature, around us but also within us, the ever-unfolding Source of life-giving power. She is often pictured as a pre-Christian Goddess, as the one whom the High Priestess is channeling down to earth for the rest of us.

In medieval Europe, the Empress card was painted to represent whatever Queen currently ruled the land, probably to satisfy the Inquisitors. But the scholars of the Renaissance and beyond had no doubt of her true identity, although she could not be fully revealed on Tarot cards as the “woman clothed with the sun” until after the French Revolution.

This supreme archetype of femininity also symbolizes fertility. It is She who provides us nourishment and security. She is also sometimes seen as delighting us with flowers and fruit. A potentially terrifying aspect of this archetype manifests itself whenever karmic mood swings wipe out our plans, like a storm that has come upon us. Whatever happens, the Empress is the Source of our Embodiment and of Natural Law. She might even be called “the Great Recycler.”

Wishing Pot

 

Items You will need:

A small ceramic jar or pot with a tight-fitting lid

2″ square piece of parchment paper

A gold ink pen

A jar of honey

Three silver coins

Write out your wish on the parchment paper. Place the paper in the bottom of the jar. Add the coins and fill the jar with honey. Cover with lid. Hold the jar close to your heart and chant the following nine times to empower the wishing pot:

“Goddess of blessings and bountiful earth

To my wishes and dreams give birth.”

Place the pot on your altar until your wishes come true. Once you receive your petition, toss the pot into the nearest water way.

Dear Brothers & Sisters It is that time of the year again….

Dear Brothers and Sisters, it is that time of the year again, our server bill has arrived. Unfortunately, it is time to pay it and it has went up. As we expand, we use up more space on the server and thus our bill goes up. We have always tried to pay this bill when it comes due on our own. Most of the time, the payment comes and goes and you know nothing about it. But this year is different. Like everyone else we are having a hard time with our finances.

During this weekend, we are going to have a drive to hopefully raise enough fund to keep us on the internet. I know some of you get angry and leave when we ask for donations. I don’t blame you I get upset when I have to come to you and ask for donations. I don’t like it at all. I like to pride myself and The WOTC on being a self-sufficient organization.  So I would not do it this time but I believe it is now extremely important that we stay on the internet. Our message is getting out and if everything goes as planned, our mission will be aired to the entire world.  We are doing the Goddess’ work. We are so very close to actually fulfilling our mission that I can almost taste it. We can’t just disappear off the net. Not now, not since we are this close to our dream coming true.

I sit at this computer every day doing the Goddess’ work. Spreading our word and our message to anyone that will listen. I do it because I believe that is what I was called to do. I love doing the Goddess’ work, if I didn’t I wouldn’t be here everyday for you. I want you to stop and think, even if our dream doesn’t come true this time, there will be a next time. It is the Goddess’ will, I know this for certain. But putting that aside, where are you going to find a site like this. A site that is so dedicated to it mission, providing information for all that seek or those who just want to gather with others. You know in your hearts, that we only have good intentions. And most of all we are dedicated to bringing our Religion back to the mainstream. We are so close. We can’t fail now. We need your help. I ask you to search your hearts, consider what I have said and what we do daily, then consider whether or not we deserve to be on the net. Do we not serve the Pagan community? As long as I have anything to do with this site, we will always serve each and everyone of you.

After you have considered everything I have said, make your mind up. Then if you feel we are meeting you needs and the Pagan community needs, then please donate what you can. To me personally, it is so important that we stay on the net, I am willing to go as far as to ask for a loan from anyone. A loan which we will glad back. It is that important to me. It is that important to our religion.

Over the weekend, you will hear this message again and again. Whether you want to donate or offer us a loan to meet our server’s bill, we will very appreciative. We have come a long way and we still have a long way to go but we aren’t stopping now. With your help, together we can continue to spread our mission. I don’t believe you would be here unless that wasn’t your goal also. Together we can do this. Donations will be great appreciated and if someone finds it in their heart to offer us a loan, it will also be greatly appreciated. Our server bill is $549.00. It seems like a lot and it is, but think of the cost if we are forced off the net.

All things in sequence, first the bud and then the flower. We can no more hold back the blossom than we can the daylight. It is inevitably there, beautifully delicate and subject to crushing. Only through very careful tending will it withstand the winds and rain and pressures of the outside.

Sequence is the order of human life. God intended us to unfold as the flower: first the seed in fertile soil, the birth, the growth, the learning, the discoveries, the knowledge, the desires, the fulfillment as each phase of life follows its own sequence. We hold back the flowering of life only if we want it to be nonexistent, for it must progress. And in some of the most tender spots progression must be slow, easy, and reverently handled, for it can be as fragile as the flower.

There is within us a delicacy of thought which entwines itself throughout our beings, crossing from phase to phase, creating within us conflicts not easily understood. Something out of sequence in one phase may postpone the flowering of another phase. The very roots of our souls must be watered with reverence to successfully follow the sequence of life. If no other human understands or cares to understand, if we do, then continue – first the bud and then the flower.

Of all the intricate and complicated creations in the world, humanity occupies the first place. Our lives are made up of such flexuous combinations of body, soul, and spirit that we do not even understand ourselves.

We all desire to know what makes us tick and how to go about making ourselves tick better. Whether we realize it or not, we are in search of the truth of our own being. Why are we here? What step should we take next? One problem after another, questions after question brings us to this place again and again.

They are our personal problems and the wisest of persons cannot give us the answers. We will always need help to encourage us in our search, but we must go within ourselves to cure, to live, to feel, to believe.

We must win our own hearts before we can find happiness with others. We must know what we want and be willing to share it with others, for it is written that life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things, in which smiles and kindnesses win and preserve the heart.

English divine John Mason wrote these words, “By these things examine thyself: By whose rules am I acting: in whose name; in whose strength. In whose glory? What faith, humility, self-denial and live of God and to man have there been in all my actions?”
