With reports of flesh-eating coming in from across the nation, rumors of a possible zombie outbreak are spreading on the Internet — but do you really have anything to worry about?

On Sunday, a New Jersey man sliced his belly open and began throwing pieces of his intestines at police. On Monday, a Miami man was shot to death by cops while eating the face of a homeless man. Then, on Tuesday, a Maryland manadmitted to dismembering his roommate and eating his heart and brain.

With all these bizarre incidents occurring within a matter of days, it’s no wonder that “zombie apocalypse” has been one of Google’s most popular search terms this week. However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says we have nothing to worry about. Read More Here….

Good Thursday Afternoon, my dear friends!

Good afternoon, my dear friends! It has been a while since I have chatted with you. I am sorry about that, totally my fault! And I apologize for that. You know I have been busy learning how to operate this new site. It still makes me nervous when I post. There are times when I have to double and triple check myself. But I hope you are enjoying it and finding it easy to use. I was scared to death I would run you all off. Thank goodness, you have the patience to put up with me, lol!

Special Kitty of the Day for April 10th


Name:	Boarpig	Age:	Ten years old
Gender:	Male	Kind:	Maine Coon mix
Home:	California, Maryland, USA
My pet’s name is Boarpig – Boar for short – and he is a part Maine Coon cat. He adopted us when he was a small kitten. We had just moved to a new neighborhood in California, Maryland and he showed up on our doorstep. At first he was an outdoor kitty, but he soon moved indoors. He loves both my husband and myself. Boar only tolerates several other people when they come to visit. He has the run of the house and we can find him sleeping in any room on the bed or in a chair. He loves to lie in his bed in front of the gas fireplace when we have it on. He weights twenty pounds and has to sit on his master’s lap every night after dinner for around an hour. He also insists we comb him every morning – he goes and lays down on a rug beside the drawer in which we keep his comb and brush. But that keeps him looking his best, and that dense coat free from matts, so we never object! We love him.

Iam Piper and I came to live with Mom, Dad and big brother Goose on January 1, 2011 from the Siamese Cat Rescue Center. I am mostly Siamese except I have one paw that has two white toes. I also have a tiny chirping voice which I rarely use. I really do run the house although I am tiny (at seven pounds), and I am scared of every noise and anything that comes through the front door. I am even afraid of my dad when he comes home from work until he says “Hi Piper!” and then I remember it is Dad. Cameras are another thing I dislike. I like to fetch my toys so mom will “play throw the toy” for me. She will play until I stop bringing my toys to her. Goose likes to pounce on me but I let him have it. Otherwise, we are good friends. I do funny things like jumping in the air and twisting for no reason except to say “I want to play!” I’m still pretty much a kitten and do not like Mom and Dad to sleep later than 4:30 am. Goose and I insist on being fed then. I’ve taught Goose how to walk on Mom and Dad while they are sleeping if they haven’t gotten up to feed us on time. Goose and I have a pretty good life. We have a view of the Chesapeake Bay which brings in all sorts of birds we watch from the safety of our screened-in porch. In the summer, we love to stay out there all day. My mom and dad are very happy the SCRC brought me to them.

Air Witch Lore – Dragons and Serpents

The ancient Aztecs depicted the element of ai as a large feathered serpent who would “swim” across the skies. He was known as the god Quetzalcoatl. Curiously enough, such air creatures are found in many mythologies. The Japanese have a similar creature, without the feathers, in the Oriental dragon. Other beings of this sort are the rainbow snake (African) and the world snake (Egyptian).

Humans have documented sightings of these creatures since the year 793. The last recorded encounter with a sky serpent was as recent as November 29, 1983 in Maryland, and was witnessed by multiple people.

Sky serpents/dragons have shown themselves all over the world. In India, the primary home of colored rains, there is said to be a sky dragon whose urine will rot the skin of all it touches. Sky serpents are said to cluster around frankincense trees due to the pleasing aroma.

In China, sky dragons are seen s benevolent, wise and protective creatures. They live for thousands of years.

Crabapples in Snow

These festive looking crabapples were photographed near Sidney, New York, after an impressive, early-season snowfall. On October 29, 2011, a strong nor’easter dumped as much as 24 in (61 cm) of snow in interior, upland areas of New England and New York. Higher elevations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia were also snow covered. October snowfall in the northeast U.S. isn’t really rare; neither are nor’easters in October, but this storm was a record setter in that it produced so much snow so early in the season. The 4 in (10 cm) of snow that fell near Sidney melted away rather quickly — temperatures were well above freezing the day following the storm when this photo was taken. However, the added mass of snow on many trees still holding onto their leaves caused considerable limb damage and seriously compromised electrical power. Some unlucky residents in Connecticut were without electricity two weeks after the storm departed.
