Daily Cosmic Calendar for Thursday, May 8th

Try to accomplish as many important errands and tasks in the early hours today. The reason is that the Moon will make a hearty and soulful union with Venus in Pisces (1:04PM), but this terrific conjunction also starts a fairly long void-of-course lunar cycle that lasts until 3:02AM on Saturday. Healing forces are certainly back on the march as the Moon unites with and parallels Chiron (3:45AM and 9:50AM, respectively). Anytime a parallel aspect forms close in time to a zodiacal alignment, it adds a robust essence to the celestial bodies involved. Don’t be surprised if feelings of deja vu or being out of step with chronological time prove overwhelming. Chiron often behaves as a catalyst — vaulting humans into a fifth dimension that the great Rod Serling named The Twilight Zone. During tonight’s void Moon uncertainty cycle, the Sun unites with Mercury (8:28PM at 6 degrees of Taurus) in what astronomers call a Superior Conjunction. This occurs approximately every 4 months and reveals Mercury, moving at top daily speed, on the far side of the Sun — creating a Mercury-Sun-Earth line-up in the solar system. The eminent astrologers Dr. Marc Edmund Jones and Dane Rudhyar referred to this type of cosmic alignment as a Full Mercury. Human souls are now exceedingly eager to open their minds to ingenious ideas — where some of these ideas can eventually flourish, eventually become thriving entrepreneurial ventures on Earth. If you have the time and feel the inclination, choose a partner to dance the night away as the Moon in Pisces can give you happy feet. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Sunday, May 27th

Back on March 21 – two days after the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and one day before a potent New Moon – we all experienced a Sun-Mercury Inferior Conjunction while Mercury was retrograde and between the Earth and Sun. As the eminent astrologers Dr. Marc Edmund Jones and Dane Rudhyar so clearly wrote in the 20th century, a Sun-Mercury-Earth alignment with Mercury in reverse is equivalent to a New Mercury. However, several months later, there is a Full Mercury – like the one happening today at 7 degrees of Gemini (4:20AM PDT), but where Mercury is on the far side of the Sun and moving at top speed. Thus, our Full Mercury is equivalent to a Full Moon – where enlightened thoughts and ideas are ripe for the picking. Adding to the festive environment – artistically and socially – is a Moon-Venus supportive, 60-degree rapport (6:58AM PDT). Revelations continue to pour in when Mercury makes a constructive, 60-degree alliance with its higher-octave guardian planet Uranus (4:37PM PDT). Hit the metaphysical and scientific books with a vengeance. Meanwhile, emotional volatility can be rising as the Moon parallels the red planet Mars (4:52PM PDT). Shortly thereafter, the Moon begins a void lunar cycle at 4:55PM PDT – lasting until 11:07PM PDT when the Moon enters industrious and meticulous Virgo. Finish odds and ends during the 6+ hour void lunar cycle, but don’t launch major undertakings. Get extra rest and sleep overnight as the celestial spotlight remains centered on Mercury’s many alignments.
