Falling in love with someone doesn’t happen every day. And marriage? That’s an even rarer occurrence. But BOTH of these life changing events can be predicted in the birth chart! Of course, it’s up to you and your free will whether or not you’ll actually open your heart or walk down the aisle, but astrologically speaking, an astrologer can smell these cycles from a mile away.
I’ll try my best to put this in terms that a beginning Astrology student can understand. Every single arena of life has a place in the birth chart. Falling in love is the domain of the 5th house in your birth chart. There may or may not be planets in the 5th house but that doesn’t matter – when your 5th house or its ruling planet is triggered in a positive way by planets in the current sky, then love is most certainly in the air.
Now, look to the sign that is on the cusp (or beginning) of your 5th house and find out what planet rules that sign (see the chart below).

Once you know which planet rules the sign of your 5th house, find where that planet is in your particular birth chart. This planet, when triggered in a positive aspect in the current skies (a conjunction, sextile or trine) will put you in a cycle of love.
Using my chart as an example, I have the sign Leo on the 5th house cusp. That means my 5th house is ruled by the Sun. My Sun is placed in Taurus in the 1st house of my chart. So I know that whenever the Sun in Taurus is receiving positive aspects from any outer planet in the sky (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Pluto) that I am in a positive love cycle. Why only consider the outer planets? Because the inner or personal planets move too quickly to matter much when you are making a major life prediction. For the major events of your life to occur, the outer planets must be transiting one of your ruling planets, personal planets, or an angle in your birth chart.
So how can I use this example to illustrate falling in love? In Astrology, the best way to predict the future is to look at your past.
The Astrology connected to my 5th house and the ruler of my 5th house is uncanny! In September 1991 I met the man I would marry, but initially, I didn’t even like him. It took a couple of months to fall in love, and the Astrology corroborates why. When we met, transiting Jupiter and Venus were both in my 5th House of True Love, but Venus was in a retrograde cycle. Venus stationed direct two days after we met and this is probably the reason why I decided to give things a second chance. Sure enough, we started to date and within a few short months I realized at 17 years old that I had fallen in love with a soul mate. It hit me suddenly. I went from not liking this man at all to gradually getting to know him and starting to really like him to then, all of a sudden, realizing I was completely in love.
So what do you think was going on with my Sun, the ruler of my 5th house? At that time Neptune, the planet of dreams, and Uranus, the planet of sudden surprises, were trine my Sun! And Jupiter was moving through my 5th house when we met, then went back into my 5th house when I realized I had fallen in love…
In fact Jupiter, the planet of expansion and blessings, was involved in a positive way to either my 5th house or its ruler BOTH times I’ve fallen in love. You will find in your own chart the same is true for when you fall in love, because the job of Jupiter is to open your heart. Yes, underline this sentence. Say it out loud: A significant love opportunity cycle can be predicted by a happy Jupiter transit to your 5th house or its ruling planet! So pay attention to when Jupiter is making its once-every-12-year visit through your 5th House of True Love or is making a conjunction, sextile or trine to your 5th house ruling planet.
Using this method I can predict when I might fall in love again. In November 2015, Jupiter will make a trine to my Sun, ruler of my 5th house. Then in March 2016, there will be a second hit of Jupiter trine my Sun, while Pluto will also trine my Sun! If I meet someone special during these cycles I will certainly tell you about it!

Palace of the Moon Love Spell“The Goddess of the Palace of the Moon,” in Chinese folklore, is a story that depicts the enchanting magic of faery queens. The Faery Queen, Chang-O, sits on a golden throne, arrayed in snowy whiteness, radiating brightness. She dazzles the eyes with her halo of light. Angels with rainbow wings hover softly over her and form a canopy above her. A host of faery beings stand before her, all robed in light. This spell uses the enchanting faery magic of the faery queens to help you create a magical lovemaking circle for romance.
To cast this spell, you will need white clothes, your lover, sensuous music, a bath, your favorite scented oil, and three candles (white, pink, and red).
Begin after dark. Put white linens on your bed, and set aside white robes, lingerie, pajamas, or something similar that is all white to wear after your bath. Take a hot bath or shower with your lover and anoint each other with your favorite scented oil. Sandalwood or vanilla oil would both be excellent selections. Put on your white clothes.
Set up your altar in your bedroom with a white candle, a pink candle, and a red candle, in a row from left to right, in that order. Draw a circle of white light, and call in the elements. Now turn on the sensuous music. Light the white candle, and dedicate it to your favorite love goddess. Light the pink candle from the white candle. Dedicate it to your lover. Light the red candle from the pink candle flame, and dedicate it to your favorite love god. Hold your lover’s hands in yours and say together:
In this Palace of the Moon
It’s you with me and me with you
May our love shine brightly tonight
Me with you and you with me
In the divine light of the night
Sweet Lady and Lord, Blessed Be!
Allow the candles to burn down safely, and let the magick of the night enchant you. Leave the circle down as you make love and sleep. In the morning, bid farewell to the elements and pull up the circle. You can also perform this spell solo by adapting the incantation.

How to make a Runic charm for safe travelingOne of the most popular ways to use runes is in the form of charms due to their ease and versatility; they can also be carried around with you making them ideal for good luck charms or for going on trips.
Follow the steps below to create your own safe traveling charm, or if you like use the basic steps to create your own charm based on your needs.
Step 1: Using the chart above, pick what rune you would like to use for your charm, if making this charm for safe traveling, a good choice would be Raido, however you could easily make this for good luck using Algiz.
Step 2: Once you have decided on your rune, next take a small pouch and draw the corresponding rune on the bag.
Step 3: You will next want to take a stone with the rune on or a suitable herb (check the herb guide at the back of this eBook for details) and place that inside the pouch.
Step 4: Now take a small slip of paper and draw the rune symbol, fold this piece of paper up and place inside the pouch before tightening the strings at the top sealing everything inside.
Step 5: Your charm is now all ready to use for your trip, this charm will promote safety while traveling as well as make the time pass by quicker.

Rune MagicRune magic or Magick is a Wiccan practice which involves using certain symbols and items when performing rituals or spells; they are most commonly used to create a physical charm which can be carried around with you. This section is designed to teach you the basics of rune magic and introduce you to the most common runes used as well as explain how to use them.
The first thing you need to understand about rune magic is that it is not simple, although it may look like it is just about drawing or making intricate symbols and sticking them to things it is actually more complex than that.
The runes themselves have very static meanings, this means they tend to be specific for one purpose or have only one meaning, this makes them ideal when casting specific spells such as good luck or protection but if you want anything more complex than that you will have to be very clear about the runes that you use, they are typically used in conjunction with other spells but can work great by themselves.
The list below will explain some of the most common runes, what they are used for and what they look like:
– Raido: Resembling the letter R, this rune is commonly used for safety in travel, trips or to help bring justice to a bad situation.
– Lagaz: Resembling the letter L, this is an especially popular rune for women due to the passion it can bring; it is also popular among students as it brings success and creativity to academic situation.
– Tir: Resembling the letter T, popular among men, just like Lagaz it promotes passion in males; it can also bring success over those competing against you.
– Sigel: Represented by an S and Z, this rune is used with those who have creative blocks or those who want to succeed, it is also used to bring strength to those who need it.
– Perdhro: Resembling the letter P, this rune is often used to help the caster find something that they thought was lost forever, to bring to light a situation that they were not aware of or to help them gain something of importance.
– Hagall: Resembling the letter H, this rune is often used by those who are in a situation in which they have no control and feel like they need a helping hand to make it through; it is also used to ward off unwanted interruptions.
-Othel: Represented by the letter O, this rune is often associated with protecting your most prized possessions, it is also used when wanting to inherit something from an elder, this doesn’t always refer to physical items, and it is often used to pass down traits through a bloodline.
– Uruz: Resembling the letters U and V, this rune is used commonly by those who are sick or know someone in need of healing, it promotes health and vitality, and it can also be used to boost the strength of your magic.
– Wunjo: Represented by a W and V, this rune is one of happiest runes out there, it promotes joy and success in every aspect of your life from your career to your love life.
– Algiz: Resembling the letter Z, this rune is particularly popular for good luck charms, personal development and to bring success.

The following spell can be easily adapted if you wish. For example, my coven all created ritual necklaces a few years ago. One of our members had a wholesale account with a jewelry design studio, and she ordered everyone a matching silver pentagram. We were lucky that the style we chose came in a few sizes and variations, but the overall all design of the pentagram was the same. So everyone chose their pentagram, paid their money, and the order was filled.
On the first full moon of the year, when we gathered together, we created our necklaces. laces. That January night, a few members brought over their jewelry-making supplies and tools and the rest of us brought our own cords, beads, crystals, and our coven pentagrams, and we all created necklaces. All of us sat down on the floor in a big circle and started laying out our necklaces. We traded beads and accessories back and forth and helped each other with the designs. In the end, we had very different necklaces, all with the same pentagram in the center. It was a lot of fun, though I will admit that I had a lot of help with mine. Then, when we were finished, we consecrated them all together in a ritual.
In the interest of keeping this simple (the mere thought of crimping beads and lobster-claw catches makes me shudder), we are going for uncomplicated bracelet-making making directions here. Truthfully, the easiest jewelry to make is to string crystals, stones, beads, and metal charms onto stretch cord. Lay out your beads and baubles in a pattern that you like. Knot one end of the stretchy cord and begin to thread the beads and trinkets on one at a time. Enjoy the process-don’t be in a hurry, and make the arrangement of stones and beads pleasing to your own taste. Measure as you go to get the correct length for your new bracelet. Don’t cut the cord off the spool until you are about to tie the knot. When you have the beads strung long enough to fit around your wrist, snip the cord. Then carefully knot the ends with a double knot, and slip the bracelet on and admire your work.
Here is a spell to bless any magickal jewelry that you create. If you look at the third and fourth lines, you can adjust these to name the purpose of the piece and for the type of jewelry you have created.
These beads and baubles, stones and metal findings
I charm you all and make the magick binding
Now enchanted for______________, this Wednesday jewelry spell begins.
May this bracelet/necklace bless its wearer with love, wealth, health and wisdom.

Book of Witchery: Spells, Charms & Correspondences for Every Day of the Week

To the Romans, this day was called Dies Mercurii, or “Mercury’s day” Mercury was a popular character in the Roman pantheon. A messenger of the gods, he presided over commerce, trade, and anything that required skill or dexterity. The Celts also worshiped Mercury and eventually equated him with the Norse god Odin (some spelling variations on this name include Wotan, Wodin, and Wodan). In Norse mythologies, Odin, like Mercury, is associated with poetry and music. Interestingly enough, both Odin and Mercury were regarded as psychopomps, or the leaders of souls, in their individual mythologies.
Odin, one of the main gods in Norse mythology, was constantly seeking wisdom. He traveled the world in disguise as a one-eyed man with a long gray beard, wearing an old, beat-up hat and carrying a staff or a spear (which brings to my mind images of Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings). In the Old English language, this day of Mercury evolved into Wodnes daeg, “Woden’s day,” or Wednesday.
Wednesday carries all of the planetary and magickal energies and associations of the witty and nimble god Mercury himself. Some of these mercurial traits included good communication skills, cleverness, intelligence, creativity, business sense, writing, artistic talent, trickiness, and thievery. And don’t forget all of those wise and enigmatic qualities associated with the Norse god Odin/Wodin, not to mention the goddess Athena’s contributions of music, the arts, handmade crafts, and writing. Wednesdays afford excellent opportunities for seeking wisdom, changing your circumstances, and improving your skills, be they in trade and commerce, music and art, or in communication and writing.

Wednesday Is Ruled By Mercury
Wednesdays are wild and wacky days. They are for communication, change, cunning, and the arts. This is a Mercury day, and just its patron god this day is full of contradictions, change, and excitement. Some suggestions for Wednesday enchantments would include:
Pulling a little Wednesday color magic into your life by wearing purples or orange
Carrying a multipurpose agate with you and tapping into its various charms
Working with magical plants such as the fern for protection. This plant will also boost the power of any other magical plants with which it is arranged.
Incorporating lavender into charms and spells for transformation
Using the charming scent of lily of the valley to improve your memory, or working with the aspen tree for communication
Calling on Athena, patron of arts and crafts, for inspiration for a new project
Fanning out a Tarot spell to increase you creativity
Calling on Hermes on a Wednesday night to bring movement and good luck into your life

Lady Luck/Fortuna – The Romans celebrated the Goddess of Good Fortune on this day. Monaghan comments that she was not merely “luck,” but the principle that drives men and women to mate, an irresistible “Fors.” She was the Goddess of Fertilization of Humans, Animals and Plants, and thus was especially worshipped by women wanting to become pregnant and by gardeners. As Fortuna Virilis, she made women irresistible to men. It was perhaps on this day that Roman women invaded men’s public baths. It makes sense to celebrate Fortuna at this time of the year when the sun at its height represents the top of her wheel of Fortune. The wheel becomes a symbol again at the other side of the year (winter solstice) when the sun is at its lowest point.Monaghan, Patricia, The Book of Goddesses and Heroines, Llewellyn 1981

Must Dos for WednesdaysBe bold and daring today! Expand your knowledge of the Craft by working with the planetary energies of Mercury on this multifaceted day of the week. Consider the Greco-Roman gods Mercury and Hermes and all of the many lessons they have for you. Embrace change and movement, and work on your communication techniques. Conjure up a little good luck for yourself with that Mercury dime spell. Call on Athena to inspire you to try magickal arts and crafts and to be more creative in your own spellwork and witchery.
Meditate on Odin and see what you can discover about him. I wonder what sort of fabulous and fascinating magickal wisdom you will uncover? Odin is a shaman, after all; he may appear in many guises and faces. I guarantee that he will make you laugh at yourself before he is through with you, but you will learn. It’s up to you what you do with that knowledge. Will you let it shapeshift into wisdom?
Wednesday is the wild and wily day of the week, so try to go with the flow; don’t fight the quirky energies of the day. Most importantly, follow your heart, and always keep a good sense of humor, because of Wednesdays you will really need it.

WednesdayRuler: Wodin, Mercury
Colors: Orange, light blue, and gray
Power Hours: Sunrise and the 8th, 16th, and 24th hours following
Keywords: Success, creativity, communication
The word Wednesday is reminiscent of the Norse wind god Wodin, which is referenced in the popular rhyme verse “Wednesday’s child is full of woe.” This does not mean that those born on this day are full of sorrow or trouble. To be full of Wo (Wodin) means to be full of wind, to be spirited. Woden was such a powerful pagan god that the German church fathers changed the name of his day to Mittwoch, meaning midweek, in an attempt to exorcise his influence.
In the Spanish word for Wednesday, miercoles, we clearly see its connection to Mercury. Under the guidance of Mercury; Wednesday is a day of swift activity, communication, correspondence, and phone calls. This is a good day for journalists, writers, poets, bargaining, hiring employees, and visiting friends.
On Wednesdays, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Mercury, making these times of the day doubly blessed. These are the strongest four hours for ritual work. Check your local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine when sunrise occurs.
