There is a palpable energy of rebellion in the air these days, regardless of where you live and how satisfied you are with the status quo. If you live in the US, still processing the combative and angry election cycle, the rebellion energy can feel like hot coals that are getting hotter by the day. If you live elsewhere, trying to make sense of the nonsense that just unfolded in the US these past 18 months, you may be feeling a bit dazed and uncertain.

The Big Picture

With so many unknowns and lots to process with each new cycle of events unfolding, it’s helpful at this stage to take a step back and consider the big picture. Continue reading to better understand what is happening in the background that directly relates to your life and your path as a divine changemaker alive now to create a loving world.

Most likely, you are weary of the tsunami of US election news now morphing into confusing accounts of what to expect of the newly-elected US leadership.

Americans: Even Americans who had little interest in the US campaigns are starting to ask deeper questions about what kind of country they want, how free they want to be, and what that freedom looks like.

Outside the US: People living elsewhere are having their own deeper self-reflection too, wondering what kind of world will unfold and how stable it will be.

Earthquake Stirring: Gone are the days when a superpower like the US could change all the rules about how it would operate with other countries, without setting off an earthquake reverberating across the planet. Trade deals and climate agreements are much more than business deals that can be torn up on a whim without dire consequences.

We have uncertainty all around now. It’s in the US, of course, but also in other key countries having their own melt downs over immigration, terrorism threats, financial instability, and the appearance of an increasing number of authoritarian and oppressive leaders.

The whole notion of freedom and who has control is coming into question in a big way. Individuals are rebelling, either actively or complaining to one another, feeling excluded and in many cases disenfranchised from society’s bounty. Meanwhile the rich get richer.

Disinformation Cycle: In tandem with that, the disinformation cycle is now in overdrive, making it quite challenging for even the most educated and discerning person to know what’s really happening. After a while, most people either just turn off the incoming news or limit exposure to one source. As an example of how detrimental this can be, look at how government controlled media in some countries lull the population into believing falsehoods or simply numbing people having grown weary of what they see. An apathetic and uninformed populace is vulnerable to control by its leaders.

What’s Important Now

A key to moving through these times in the highest way is to stay grounded and conscious, questioning deeper than you usually do. Don’t accept things just because authorities tell you it’s the best thing to do or that you will be unsafe if you don’t submit to something you know at a core level is wrong.

Take comfort in remembering that humanity has long been in this crazy dance of opposites – the light and the dark thrashing violently at each other. Don’t forget that you are part of humanity, too. All of us together created this dance.

Revolts and Your DNA: Throughout the centuries, humanity has had countless revolutions and revolts. Since you likely lived during some of them, a part of you at a DNA level has the memory of these things. There may be imprints within your DNA left over from previous rebellions, too. Those imprints could now be rising to the surface of your psyche during these moments – causing you to feel unrest and even anxiety that you can’t quite understand. This can occur regardless of where you live and what’s happening in your home country.

Due to a past life experience witnessing or even leading a revolt, you could hold great wisdom within you about how do do things differently this lifetime. Wisdom from lessons learned, as well as old unresolved hurts, get recorded in your DNA. They remain there, often for hundreds of years until a key event occurs, bringing them to the surface of your consciousness.

Examples from 2010s: During the Arab Spring with its violent civil uprisings in the news, your subconscious DNA level memories of being in similar rebellions could have been triggered. Perhaps you lived in an Arab country in a past life. Another possibility is that you had a traumatic lifetime during an uprising in another part of the world. The energy of revolts and revolutions has many universal themes. If you have lived through a number of them over time, you likely carry both wisdom from lessons learned and perhaps DNA-level vows of what you will or will not do again.

Modern day terrorist attacks in France could be stimulating very old DNA-level wounds within you if you or your ancestors lived in France during the 1789 French Revolution.

Most likely, too, you had a number of past life experiences involving injustice and oppression. You don’t need to remember them or have a past life reading to feel a tug on your insides today as you learn about groups of people being targeted because of their gender, race, religion, or country of origin.

Why This Matters

So why does this matter, all of this rehashing of themes and some of them ringing loudly within you at a core level?

FIRST, along with the craziness of now and many things just not making sense, when you factor in our long history on this planet, it’s easier to put things into perspective. History does repeat itself, until the lessons are learned. And now we are in big time learning mode, hopefully with much more consciousness and mutual caring for each other and our fragile planet.

SECOND, when each of us can take responsibility for our role over time in creating what we have now, the division and combativeness can soften into a more cooperative spirit that allows for dialogue and diplomacy.

THIRD, when each of us discovers what pieces of baggage we personally carry at a DNA level from past times of revolt, we can address them at their root in the DNA and become free. Due to our conditioning, most people alive now still carry fear-based notions of “us and them.” This leads to hate in all of its forms – bigotry, discrimination, exclusion, and prejudice. We don’t need to keep carrying this baggage – we can address it within ourselves at a DNA level. Each person who does this is helping humanity, for the mass consciousness shifts a bit at a time as each of us do.

FOURTH, consider the loud ringing you sometimes feel as spirit’s wake up call. You were born now, not to be ordinary and a bystander watching the parade pass by. You are here to be an active participant in shifting this planet into light. You are here to show by example what love looks like, what it feels like, and how it transforms even the darkest hours into radiant rainbows.

FIFTH, you are hard wired at a DNA level to be a divine changemaker and a leader of positive changes. Yes, your DNA also has old patterns still surfacing to clear. So does everyone else. Which means that we have inner work to do. At the same time, we are strong and capable and caring. It is these energies put into action day after day that will make the difference. The light will prevail. Trust this.

This energy is excellent for any important project that requires your undivided attention. If you’ve got a vision and have already outlined how to manifest it, now is the time to really fill in the blanks – flesh it out – bring it to life! Do the work! If you do not channel this energy toward patiently and methodically taking the steps (in order) to get to the next level, then it can manifest in frustration that you are not doing what you know in your heart you’re supposed to be doing at this time. It leads to negative thinking and self-sabotage. A better expression would be to not think of the things that can go wrong, but entertain the possibility that every door opens and all paths lead to your goal, no matter how they appear at the moment.

11/24 ~ Jupiter (your story) ~square~ Pluto (transformation):

These two energies are potent by themselves, but when challenging each other like this, permanent change is underway. Squares push you “out of comfort zone – in to – new territory”, that, essentially, you could not get to on your own as you need the friction or the push. Keep your own motivations pure to avoid getting hurt by the karmic debris swirling nearby, know your own Truth & Story and allow what’s no longer true to fade, while embracing a renewed sense of purpose and dedication to something larger than you. Pluto is the Purifier and Jupiter represents justice and laws and is a social planet, so look for changes in government and revelations of the movements and machinations that are covert or hidden from the public view. There is a cleansing happening as we speak. It is time to question everything ~ especially your own belief systems. Reflect to see if what you hold as Truth is still adequate or even accurate.  This energy is best for working toward positive change and restoring clean power structures within and out in the world, and helping the individual transform their personal story considerably.

11/25 ~ Venus (love, finances & relationships) ~conjunct~ Pluto (purification & transformation):

This energy supports a new beginning in your personal life. Some aspect of your values & priorities has shifted or run its natural course and this is a time to move in a new direction, if only moving to your own next level (with love, finances or relationships). Pluto adds intensity to the mix, for better or worse, but also grants access to profound levels of connection with those you are in alignment with on a Soul-level. This is the ultimate support for the power of love to transform ALL. Because your values and priorities are shifting, relationships must also undergo a similar adjustment (when you change, everyone around you changes or goes away). Beware of value differences that can cause power struggles which are unproductive, that’s ego distracting you from the opportunity to release some dead weight and move into the new with more ease & grace. Try to create circumstances that are win/win, and mutually beneficial, this will allow the relationship to evolve, rather than revolve back into the new cycle and thus, repeating.

This energy is a happy-go-lucky kind of energy that doesn’t really want to be bothered with the mundane, however, you must not allow that passing energy to get you so off track that it costs you more than it is worth. If you don’t have any pressing obligations, then this will be a fun, relaxing time, possibly with friends having some fun. However, if you have work to do, make sure it gets done first so you can truly enjoy yourself without the worry of the pile being bigger when you return.  Watch the excesses as well, food, drink and/or spending. On a deeper level, you may have to make some adjustments in your relationships or finances. Jupiter always reveals the excess or where we make things ‘bigger’ (consciously or not). This activation usually helps us realign our true priorities with our grandest vision for the future.

This activation gives you access to your Higher Mind and opens the way for new, deeper insights that can guide & direct you at this time. Business as usual will not work, it’s time to open up to the unusual, do something different, look at things from another angle and watch the ah-ha’s start pouring in. Your intuition will be firing on all cylinders, giving you access to unprecedented clarity. While your thinking may lack discipline, your ability to access solutions to any recent (or long-standing) challenges will be off the charts. Festival of Kukulcan

It was on this day that the ancient Mayan people paid homage age to the God Kukulcan. His name means “the feathered snake whose path is the waters.” Later merged with Quetzalcoatl (Plumed Serpent) he was the great God of wisdom, wind, and fertility-the inventor of agriculture and the calendar. He was identified with Venus as the morning star and portrayed as a feathered serpent and sometimes as a bearded man. The Mayan religion permeated all aspects of life. Their festivals were times of great celebration and focused on seasonal changes and agriculture. Generally, their festivals included games, feasting, dancing and human sacrifice.

This day of the week is dedicated to the moon and all of her magic and mystery. Mondays are for women’s mysteries, illusion, prophetic dreaming, emotions, travel, and fertility.

Some suggestions for Monday enchantments would include:

*Getting outside and looking for the moon in the heavens. Sit under her light and absorb a little glamour. Call on the moon goddess Selene for practical help in magical issues.

*Invoking the god Thoth for wisdom and insight

Monday is ruled by the moon – an ancient symbol of mystery and peace. Monday is a special day for mothers as the cycle of the moon has long been associated with the female menstrual cycle. Those wishing to conceive a baby would be wise to try on a Monday as the magic of motherhood is strong and pregnancy is in the air.

This is the proper day of the week to perform spells and rituals involving agriculture, animals, female fertility, messages, reconciliation’s, theft, voyages, dreams, emotions, clairvoyance, home, family, medicine, cooking, personality, merchandising, psychic work, Faerie magic, and Goddess rituals.

The Waning Moon

The Waning Gibbous Moon or Disseminating Moon appears 3 ½ days to 7 days after the Full Moon. The Moon will rise during the evening and set sometime mid-morning. Again we see the bulge on one side of the Moon but it is now decreasing each day. Darkness is slowly moving in. Waning is underway.

The Waning Last Quarter Moon appears between 7 and 10 ½ days after the Full Moon. She rises near midnight and sets near noon. Because of the return to a right angle between the Sun and Moon the variation between tides is low again. There is once again a balance between light and dark, but the dark will soon overcome the light.

The Waning Crescent or Balsamic Moon occurs between 10 ½ days after the Full Moon up until the New Moon. The Moon rises in the dark hours of the morning and sets in the afternoon. Again we see the Moon as a beautiful crescent, but it is rapidly diminishing into darkness.

You do not have to be concerned so much about overdoing things now because the lunar rhythm will act as something of a brake. Now is a good time to throw away your rubbish, take old clothes to charity shops. Consider how well things are working out and analyse information. Follow your needs and reactions.

You may feel more like meditating and being alone. Clear spaces of all descriptions and make endings, let go of unwanted energies, release, banish and reverse. Some people favour scrying and meditation with the Dark Moon because it is a more inward time. The insights you glean now will have a deeper more insightful quality, whereas as Full Moon they may be more obviously creative.

To connect with the Waxing Moon energies and the energy of the Crone, place an amethyst in a bowl of water, light a purple candle and scry.

Use a hag stone (holey stone) or a piece of elder or yew wood. Hold this during meditation to connect with crone energies and the energy of the Waning Moon.

Make a crone hearth in your fireplace or on your mantelpiece. Decorate it with symbols that represent her to you, or you could just use a cauldron (or big casserole dish) and fill it with a large dark coloured candle and pebbles.

Magickal Applications for Mondays

Monday is named after the moon. The Latin term for Monday is Dies Lunae (“moon’s day”); in the Old English language, this day was Monandaeg; in Greek, it was Hermera Selenes. All of these different names and languages translate to the same thing: the “day of the moon.”

Working with the different phases of the moon is an important skill that takes a bit of time for Witches to learn. So why not cut to the chase and experiment with the day of the week that is dedicated to the moon in all of its magickal energies and aspects?
