EARTH

Finally we come to the Element of Earth. The source and provider of all our needs. Represents sensations, decay, patience, stability, strength, health, warmth and comfort, animals and animal instincts, farming and physical labor.

Its feeling is dry and cold, its season is Winter, its colors are Browns, Blacks, Purples and some Greens. Its symbol is the Pentacle or Rice, Salt or grain in a brass or terra cotta bowl or a Stone. Its Moon phase is the Fourth Quarter and its favored time is Midnight. A high Earth person seems a practical sort and quite “down to earth”. A hard worker, stable and a good provider. Can be a little too stubborn sometimes however. A low Earth person can seem confused, insecure and alone, unable to feel wanted and the work may be affected.

Earth Magick can involve the use of herbs and plants. Using the correct herb to attain your desire along with the other tools can be very effective. Burying something and making some offerings to the Earth such as planting trees is a form of Earth Magick. Using your gems or crystals and burying them in the Earth under the appropriate tree while making your wish is also effective.

Another type which is considered Earth Magick is any type of routine magick. Anything you do on a routine basis can be used as a magickal vehicle. While performing something you do at the same time everyday, prepare yourself and use this period for clarity on a subject, figure the best course of action in a situation or to find just where you are in the course of your life.

    Even though I’m a fire sign, Aries with my moon in Pisces, I still find so many things and characteristics of the element of Earth that resonate with me so strongly!
    It’s probably not surprising as I’m of Crone age now with 4 grandchildren. It’s also nearly winter here in South Australia and it’s getting really cold and pouring with rain right now which of course resonates with earth. So it was meant to be that I finally checked some of your posts on WordPress this evening.
    I’ve always seen the Earth as “Mother Earth” even as a child when I was still stuck at school. Which unfortunately was a strict Catholic school where I was educated by “sadistic Loreto Nuns”.
    But no matter how they tried to indoctrinate me I would quite regularly ask questions in Religion lessons which they couldn’t answer or they just made up an answer to try and stop me asking which made them look incompetent.
    So for having an enquiring mind I was rewarded (sic) by getting detention on a regular basis. Their religion was shoved down my throat but thank goodness I never gave up on all my questions.
    That’s when I realised what BS it all was!!!
    Thank goodness for Paganism, Witchcraft and the Occult which has literally saved my life in so many ways. Even though I studied everything else first just to make sure. Lol Back in my much younger years.
    Especially Tibetan Buddhism for 3 years and nearly converted to Buddhism. I still have the utmost respect for Buddhism and their philosophies. I still use some of their techniques that I learnt from a highly trained Tibetan Lama, monks and a Buddhist Nun at Buddha House.
    What I have learnt still helps me to quieten my mind for meditation to get all “Zen” so to speak.
    However they still help me with my magickal meditations, trancework and divination and so much more.

    I’ve gone off on a bit of a tangent here now sorry but I know it’s been awhile since we’ve communicated. My fault I know as sometimes life just gets too hectic or challenging to keep up with all my reading.
    As a complete bibliophile though I’ve always got my nose in a book and my occult library has increased immensely. Problem is it gets a bit expensive buying books all the time but they are my Vice as well as music. LOL
    Anyway I’ve really enjoyed being reminded about everything about the element of earth. Any Witch who says they know everything about everything is a total phony or is just ignorant. In fact the more I study the more I realise that I have yet to learn. As Witches I believe we all keep learning until the day we die/transition into the next realm of existence.

    1. How many blogs do you have? I just went and visited Surviving Chronic Pain with Magick. It is a very beautiful site. I asked you in another comment what you had been up too, now I know. I have problems just running one blog and we have them scattered all over the net. I am a Pisces and I am attracted to the Element Air. I told someone yesterday that I don’t believe our astrology symbols determine who we are, we do. That dear witch was also born on one sign but attracted to another. I haven’t run into anyone yet that is attracted to the sign they are suppose to be attracted too.

      When I get a moment, I will hop back over to your site and gather up your links. I will put them on our links/awards page. I really did like the one I viewed, it was beautiful. Oh, it is also pouring down rain here but we are going into Summer. I always use to kid a lady from down under that when it turned off Winter here, I was coming for a visit.       2. We have several blogs on Blogger. Most of them are closed and I use them to play with. But we do have two open ones and one that we are planning on being another site like this one. It just doesn’t have the WOTC on it anywhere, so if you don’t know what you are looking for, you won’t never find it. I use to be able to post in three different sites at once. Can’t manage to do that anymore, hmm, must have to do with getting older, lol! I was wondering what kind of issues you are having over there. I might be able to help you out. I know when we opened up the one that was suppose to be our other big one, I had issues. Blogger looks easy but it ain’t, I can tell you that from experience. I think I spent one Saturday tearing one of hidden sites apart just to figure out how the thing worked again. I guess I am partial to WordPress. Their format and everything about it is much, much simpler. I know WP has an import button on the sidebar under the “Tools” section. If I was you I don’t know if I would give that a try or not. We used a format like that when we moved from MSN to Yuku and brother, was it a mess. Perhaps if you do use it, don’t use it on your main site. And again if you need help on your blogger sites, just holler. Got to run for now. It is wonderful to have you back, I missed not seeing your comments. You are a joy to have around, dear sister.
