Feast of Saint The new
According to legend, Thenew of Taneu was the daughter of a sixth-century peince of Lothian in Southern Scotland. When she was found to be pregnant by a commoner, her father had her thrown from the summit of Traprain Law, but she slowly drifted down—floating like a bird. She was placed in a leather coracle and set adrift, only to have a school of fish push her ashore. Unharmed, she then gave birth to her baby and became the patron saint of parents and unwed mothers.
