Your Horoscopes for Tuesday, April 27th

by Rick Levine

General Horoscope

We have our hearts set on getting a lot of work done today but we need to have a specific goal and a practical plan in mind. We benefit from three planets in resolute Taurus encouraging us to follow through on our intentions. The analytical Virgo Moon, the willful Sun and powerful Pluto bless us with a Grand Earth Trine, but we can still lose our way when nebulous Neptune enters the picture. Our success depends on our ability to maintain our focus.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

You are motivated by reasonable objectives today but others may be surprised by your unconventional approach. Unfortunately, you might not realize how big a gulf exists between your intentions and how people interpret your actions. Even if you carefully monitor your behavior, you still could be misunderstood. There’s no need to overreact; thoroughly discussing your strategy enables you to communicate your perspective with precision. Including your colleagues in your plans allows everyone to share in your success.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

You’re in your element today and don’t want to take time to explain all the details of your game plan. You don’t understand why everyone needs so much information when you just want to get on with your work. Rather than acting annoyed that you must review plans you thought were already good to go, take your cues from the advice you receive instead. You can waste precious energy feeding your anger or you can grab this opportunity to take your good idea and make it even better. Set your ego aside for the sake of success.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

It seems as if the big pieces are in place so you’re not sure why it’s taking so much effort to get your work done today. No matter what, you’re determined to overcome any obstacles that arise from your recent decisions. However, you need to pay close attention to your priorities or you might spend time focusing on logistics that are relatively unimportant. Having every little thing perfectly in place would be wonderful, but not if it prevents you from making immediate progress with your plans.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

If a coworker or a friend has something urgent to share with you today, slow down long enough to listen. It may seem as if someone is on your case now and even the slightest criticism might elicit feelings of self-doubt on your part. But there is little time to question your skills, so process your resistance as quickly as possible. Instead, step up to the plate and address the underlying issue that is currently standing between you and success. Once you see the problem in a clear light, you can face your own music, change your tune and move on.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

You could squander your energy by attempting to fight the inevitable today, but the more you struggle against your responsibilities, the harder it is to fulfill them. Instead of fantasizing about the pursuit of more enjoyable activities, just make the best of what’s right in front of you in this moment. But don’t try to placate anyone with a song and dance. Your no-nonsense attitude combined with sincere effort is the best way to win others over to your side.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

Sometimes, you are the most creative when you interpret your ideas in a lighthearted and playful manner. But more often, it’s just sweat and toil as you strive to produce something worthy of your efforts. Luckily, you can access the best of both worlds now as your pragmatic approach to a project empowers you to be inspirational in your thinking. You don’t have to push your vision along in order to be more efficient today. Express your feelings as authentically as possible and your work will speak for itself.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

You can take a good idea too far this week because your imaginative approach feels so exhilarating now that you’re inclined to run with it as long as you can. But expressing yourself in an artistic manner to grab the spotlight is not a wise application of a passing inspiration. Grandstanding for personal gain won’t end up helping your cause. Pay attention to your muse and follow it wherever it goes. Surprisingly, riding your stream of consciousness now will give you the most practical results.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Your friends and associates place a lot of confidence in you now, which is appreciated but also makes you nervous. They think that you can do nearly anything as you juggle schedule demands and complete difficult tasks as if you were a magician. However, you might be more anxious than others realize, worrying that you can’t meet the impossible expectations that seem to be ballooning out of control. Nevertheless, don’t underestimate your abilities today. Put your nose to the grindstone and get busy; everyone could be quite pleased with your results when you focus your passion on what matters most.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Narrowing your field of vision enables you to make the most of your limited resources today. Thankfully, your willpower is intense now; whatever you believe to be true can actually manifest as long as you remain vigilant in your work. Your first inclination is to agree if someone asks for a favor, but it’s healthier to take a few deep breaths before you respond. Consider the ramifications of assuming another obligation prior to fulfilling your previous commitments. Attention follows intention; setting priorities is key to your success.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

Your plans may appear to be progressing smoothly today. But rather than simply going along with the flow and responding to issues only as they surface, take control by stirring up your own waves and surfing to your destination. It isn’t in your best interest to wait for something to happen; fine tune your strategy and put it into motion as soon as possible. Naturally, there may be adjustments required later on, but it’s still better to initiate action now before the cosmic winds change direction and the opportunity passes.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Although you’re tempted to keep your thoughts to yourself, your impact at work is minimal today if you remain silent. Your rational perspective makes a lot of sense to your coworkers, giving you the power to change people’s minds. But there’s no need to worry about what anyone thinks; just let them know your plans as they take shape. Your ability to detach yourself from the outcome increases the positive influence you now have on others. Strike while the iron is in your hand and everyone will be suitably impressed.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

You’re probably receiving more support at work now than you realize even if someone appears to be resisting your efforts. Rather than assuming a defensive posture, take the unsolicited feedback to heart. Don’t exclude potential allies just because they don’t agree with all the details of your plan. Your ability to adapt to the will of others could make the difference between success and failure. Be open to modifying your strategy instead of attempting to do it all on your own. Ironically, you can personally benefit the most from finding your strength in numbers.

Your Daily Horoscopes for Monday, April 27th

Aries

It may be difficult to truly and richly connect with someone today, Aries, as much as you may want to. People’s reactions to you may pull at your insecurities or undermine your confidence. While the temptation today is to either pull into yourself in reaction or to try too hard, but neither will serve you well. Finding a middle ground is best. Even better, tend to your own needs, please yourself, and at the same time keep yourself open and approachable enough that if others want to join in, they are able to. There can be a lot on your plate today, but emotions tend to sap you of some of the energy and motivation to deal with your duties. However, if you accept that this is not one of your better days and simply make the best of it, you can feel quite satisfied by the end of the day.

Taurus

This is not the best day for confidence, Taurus, and you could find that doors are not really opening for you as readily as they have been. This is a brief, transitory influence. While people may not be rushing to help you out today, this does give you the opportunity to discover that you’re quite fine at helping yourself. However, important decisions about money, friendship, and business should probably wait, as you may not be in touch with what you truly want and value right now. You might also have to deal with others’ criticism or scrutiny.

Gemini

You could be temporarily questioning a few things today, Gemini, with Venus in your sign and challenged by Chiron pulling out latent insecurities and vulnerabilities. It’s in fact a good time for getting to know what you truly want and value, but it may feel a little awkward along the way. You are suddenly seeing relationships and people in terms of your differences rather than your similarities, and you might also feel that people in authority, such as bosses or parents, seem to be judging you or seeing you for your faults. This is temporary and can point you to areas that require more attention, and possibly some toughening up. Past mistakes are unlikely to repeat if you allow yourself to truly see them and learn from them.

Cancer

You could feel a little let down in your social or love life today, Cancer, or interactions with others tend to pull up past hurts and current insecurities. For some, a delayed reaction to a disappointing situation can occur now. At the moment, you may not be seeing things very clearly. If you’re truly uncomfortable, then do pull yourself out, but watch that you don’t withdraw and deny yourself important experiences only because you are protecting yourself from experiencing old hurts. Remind yourself that the past doesn’t have to repeat itself, particularly if you have been honest with yourself and learned from your earlier experiences. Talking things through with a trusted friend can be helpful.

Leo

You might experience some disagreements or confusion over money or shared resources today, Leo. You should also take extra care of your valuables right now. Disappointments are possible today, and you may be seeing a friend in a less than flattering light. Try to avoid reacting by either pulling out or overdoing, as neither approach will get you closer to what you want. While situations today could remind you on some level of past upsets or hurts, they also have something to teach you, as the past doesn’t always have to repeat itself. Today is good for working on business strategies, which tend to come naturally to you.

Virgo

The Moon is in your sign all day, Virgo, and you want to do things your way. You tend to let your emotions lead under this influence. While you could feel blocked by a significant other, or possibly vaguely guilty about going your own way, for the most part, good energy is with you for learning and venturing out and about. Later today, take extra care when choosing your words if you are making a statement in a more formal setting, but avoid the temptation to people-please too much. When judging the value of things, people, and relationships today, you may very well either overshoot or undershoot the mark, so save important decisions for a clearer time.

Libra

Focus on healing, processing, and unwinding if possible today, Libra, with the Moon in the sign behind yours all day. It’s a monthly period for catching your breath and refreshing your emotions and connection with your inner world. Later today, if a belief or opinion has you worked up, try your best to let it go if it begins to truly interfere with your day. It can be difficult to rise your thoughts above the small problems in your life, but you’ll do better for yourself if you disengage or withdraw just a little right now. This is not the best day for recognition or positive feedback. Try to let that go as well. Aim to enjoy time with yourself rather than bemoan it.

Scorpio

There can be a “two steps forward, one step back” feeling to the day, Scorpio. You have a good sense that you’re going somewhere and progressing, but there can be some emotional backstepping. This needn’t be too difficult – simply keep in mind that it is difficult to see what you truly want and value when insecurities or guilt are involved, as they likely are today when it comes to intimate and relationship matters. You can be feeling a little vulnerable on a creative level as well, and more inclined to hide your light than share it, just for now. Please yourself today, and avoid a tendency to overdo pleasing someone, as it won’t get you into a better position. The Moon’s presence in your solar eleventh house pulls you towards light connections and networking as a form of emotional detox, and it can certainly help.

Sagittarius

Today, there can be some issues with insecurities, particularly related to family or a significant other, Sagittarius. Learn to recognize insecurity or guilt in your own behavior, even if you’ve disguised it well from yourself! There can be some awkwardness or off timing in relationships today, but these are temporary. Avoid bending over backwards just to please someone. You can be very emotionally focused on performing, and your ambitions are to the fore. It may be difficult to tune out emotional distractions today, but if you manage to take a step by step approach, you can be rather productive despite this.

Capricorn

Activities that break the routine, even if they are simply played out in the mind, are emotionally satisfying today, Capricorn. After a couple of days in a deeper place emotionally, you are now in need of seeing some light. You may be dealing with some level of chaos or trying to resist a temptation to flee and escape your responsibilities. You could also be dealing with vagueness in the people around you, which is frustrating, or uncertain instructions with your work or studies. Insecurities about work or relationships can come to the fore now.

Aquarius

There is a tendency to need to pull into yourself in order to gain emotional strength today, Aquarius. Introspection can do you some good now, but if you get into a doubting, overthinking frame of mind, then you’ll need to recognize when too much is too much! Insecurities, particularly related to money or your own value, can be stimulated today. Indecisiveness can weigh on you. Commitments and conclusions should wait for another time, if possible. However, you can find quite a bit of support and unconditional acceptance from people closest to you today, and if someone you care about thinks the world of you, let that in and allow it to fill you up. The next couple of days are strong for building up confidence.

Pisces

You are especially focused on, and sensitive to, the needs of important people in your life today, Pisces. The Moon has moved into your opposing sign (Virgo), and this can stimulate a stronger awareness of your feelings for others, as well as parts of your life that have come out of balance. However, a challenging aspect between Venus and Chiron in your sign can stimulate your vulnerabilities and insecurities today, and you can have a hard time getting close, either mentally or emotionally or both, to someone as a result. Difficult problems from the past can be remembered now, complicating things further. This may not be the best day for having your needs met, but you would do well for yourself if you examine what it is you truly need.

Weekly Astrology: April 27 – May 3, 2015

Have faith to pursue your dreams this week!

This week it’s time to go deep. Here’s the lowdown on the key cosmic events the week of April 27 to May 3, 2015.

Wednesday, April 29: Sun in Taurus sextile Neptune

On Wednesday, the Sun in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces will be at a friendly sextile to each other, supporting faith, dreams and wishing upon a star. This is a great day for seeing the best in others, to forgive and let go of pain — to live and let live.

This will also be a wonderful time to enjoy a concert, art show, film, or anything else that speaks to your soul. Connect with the mystic within, and trust what he or she has to say.

Thursday, April 30: Mercury in Gemini

On Thursday, Mercury will enter Gemini, and you’ll focus more on ways to find intellectual stimulation. Learning something new might be more appealing now. If you’ve always wanted to write that book or begin another communications-related project, this will be a good time to start. Dialogue with siblings should prove interesting.

The only caveat to this energy is that you’ll be tempted to participate in gossipy conversations. Don’t!

Sunday, May 3: Full Moon in Scorpio; Mercury opposite Saturn

On Sunday, a Full Moon in Scorpio, along with Mercury opposite Saturn, will create a serious, introspective mood. Emotional depth is written all over this lunation, but fortunately you’ll have the ability to remain in the driver’s seat as you surrender to truly “feeling” your feelings.

Mercury opposite Saturn reminds you to say what you mean and to mean what you say. If you need to express anything to someone close that might leave him or her feeling vulnerable, you’ll do it with the fewest words possible. Yes, you’ll get to the point. But you’ll do it with sensitivity.

Weekly Forecast: April 26 – May 2, 2015

The Karmic Tools Weekly Forecast covers the current planetary transits which affect people in different ways and to various degrees of intensity. Take notice when it is a Personal planet (Sun / Moon / Mercury / Venus / Mars) interacting with a Social (Jupiter/Saturn) or Collective planet (Uranus / Neptune/Pluto). And pay extremely close attention when it is a Social planet interacting with a Collective planet because that means something *big* is brewing that will move large groups of people along their evolutionary paths. Tuning in to the energy and rhythm of the planets can serve as a useful *guide* as you move along your Individual Path. It also helps to understand your place within the context of the larger Social & Collective Story. Below, you will find out how these energies tend to manifest, as well as guidance and direction.

*NOTE* There are some days when there are NO CONTACTS (besides the Moon), please note that there are no missing entries, we just list the actual Activations of each week + the day they happen.

Weekly Forecast: April 26 – May 2, 2015

4/26 ~ Venus (beauty) ~sextile~ Uranus (sudden clarity):

This energy involves Uranus which always makes you seek to break the monotony of routine or boring people. You will be more outgoing and capable of attracting unusual people and events. Take advantage of this energy to tap into areas you may not have realized were available to you before. Keep it light and upbeat; socialize and enjoy the experience of new people or activities. Keep in mind, however, any relationships begun this week may not be based on qualities needed for long term survival. It is more a time to ENJOY the people and experiences that pass through at this time. Accept this gift!

4/29 ~ Sun (identity) ~sextile~ Neptune (vision):

More sharp intuition available this week. You are able to step outside your Self and see how others’ needs are important. You may feel the urge to be more giving and understanding than usual. This is also a good time for spiritual development. It won’t be enough to merely know something, you will want to know the “larger” meaning. Your energy may be naturally low, that’s an indication that it’s time to focus more inwardly.

The Witches Magick for the 27th Day of the Seed Moon – Finger Painting Sex Magick

Spellbound

FINGER PAINTING SEX MAGIC

You will need your lover, one ounce of olive oil, nine drops of vanilla scented oil, and three drops of jasmine-scented oil.

Just before you make love, take a warm bath with your beloved. Decide what you both want to direct your sexual and orgasmic energy toward. Keep it simple and be specific. Next, mix the oils together, and paint words of endearment on your lover’s naked skin. Finger-paint one word on your lover’s skin, then ask your lover to paint a word of love on your skin. After you paint each word, use your fingers and your imagination to rub the oil gently and sensuously into your lover’s skin. See how many words you spell before you fall passionately into the throws of lovemaking. Direct your lovemaking energies toward a shared goal or dream.

Dowsing Tools You Can Make & Use

MAKING A WALKING STICK, STAFF OR STANG

It is no coincidence that wizards and shamans everywhere are depicted with a staff, though its purpose is very rarely understood – it is not a fancy walking stick or an accessory to make the magician look more imposing. The staff is a portable world tree or cosmic mundi, which connects the magician to the three realms of the heavens, middle earth and the underworld.

The stang is a forked staff that represents the Horned God when placed in the circle. Cut the wood in winter when the sap is down. Remove any side twigs and branches. Leave the bark or remove as desired, burn on patterns with a soldering iron or a heated knitting needle. Allow the stick to dry out for several months before varnishing, if wished.

THE BROOM

Use twigs from the birch cut in the spring for the broom part, an ash pole for the shaft. The shaft should be smoothed and sanded. Carve a point in one end and bore a hole a couple of inches from this point. Insert a wooden peg into this. Gather the birch twigs around this and tie on the binding above and below the peg so that it is held on safely. Cut willow for tying when the tree is in leaf. Split these and put in hot water for 20 minutes to make them pliable.

RUSHLIGHTS

Cottages up and down the country were once lit with home-made rush lights, rather than candles or lamps. They are easily made from rushes with white spongy centres such as Juncus effuses. Soak them in water for six or seven hours and leave to dry outdoors in the sun. Peel the skin on one side, leaving it on the other. Heat wax in a dipping container and dip the rushes one at a time, allowing the wax to set in between each dipping. Aim to dip them four or five times in all. Clip the rushlight to the side of a bottle or candlestick using a bulldog clip.

HAG TAPERS

Many of the folk names for mullein, such as Hag Taper and Candlewick Plant, are a reference to the fact that it was used as a wick before the introduction of cotton. Dried pieces of the stalk were dipped into suet, tallow or pitch and used as candles. In Britain in the Middle Ages the stalks were dipped in suet to burn at funerals.

Let’s Talk Witch – Dowsing

Spell Caster

DOWSING

The cunning man was consulted in order to find lost objects, and often used dowsing to achieve this. Dowsing is the intuitive use of pendulums or rods to locate things and energies or answer questions. It is an art almost anyone can master. Cunning men often used pendulums, either directly dowsing over a specified location for a dropped ring for example, or over a map. Dowsing may also be used to identify power spots, earth energies and ley lines, either in situ or on a map. It may be used to pick out a useful crystal or other object from a collection and so on and so on.

Dowsing is usually done with a pendulum, a forked stick or L rods. The forked hazel stick is most often used to locate water, the forks held in the hands. The tip of the stick will go down when the dowser locates his objective.L rods consist of two bent pieces of metal held in the hands which swing together when the objective is encountered. They are used to locate water, minerals, ley lines, earth energies and illness in the body. They can easily be made by cutting a section from a metal coat hanger about 9 inches long, plus one of the bends and four or five inches after the bend. You will need two of these. Hold the shorter pieces loosely in the hands pointing in front of you, parallel. Try walking over a spot where you have placed a bowl of water. The two rods should cross over each other of their own accord, then move back out as you clear it.

Pendulums are valuable divinatory tools and a pendulum is nothing more than a balanced weight on the end of a thread or fine chain. It does not need to be crystal, gold plated or expensive. One of the most successful dowsers I know uses a button. A wedding ring or sewing needle attached to a length of sewing thread has been used for centuries to try to determine the sex of a newborn baby – rotating for a girl and swinging to and fro for a boy. The method was used commercially in the nineteenth century, with a small device containing a miniature pendulum, for sexing chickens whilst still in the egg.

To use a pendulum you must determine your own responses. For some a ‘yes’ response will be a clockwise swing, for others the pendulum will go back and forth. Ask it some questions you know the answers to and determine the result.

Pendulums are extremely easy to make. Take a length of wire. Starting at the top and leaving an inch spare, wrap the wire around your chosen weight lengthways and bring it back up to the top. Twist the two ends and bring the longer end down around the weight again at 90 degrees from the first. Bring it to the top once more, twist again with the other end and fashion the remaining wire into a ring by wrapping it twice around a small knitting needle and cut of any excess. Thread the cord or chain through this ring and you have a pendulum.

African Fertility

Festival In many African republics, this New Year’s Day celebrates the ancient seed-sowing ceremony performed in honor of the Goddess of fertility, Mawu. Associated with the moon, Mawu is considered to be cool and gentle. She is the creatrix who made people from clay and brings abundance to the land. In some areas, Mawu (moon) is combined with Lisa (sun) to create a dynamic union between the two controlling factors of universe for the protection of crops and people.

Healing Arts and Pagan Studies ~ Beltane May Pole Candles

Happy Halloween!!

Healing Arts and Pagan Studies ~ Beltane May Pole Candles

You will need:
Lots of pretty ribbons
Tall white or green pillar candle
Gold or brass “Craft Bells”
Candle holder (stand)

Cut lengths of ribbon around 18 inches each, in pretty Springtime colors.(pastels)
Tie a craft bell to each end of ribbon (a tooth pick helps this process) Tie ribbons starting
at ¾ way down the pillar candle, knot three times, don’t tie bows, you need lots of length
on the ribbons. Tie as many as you like snaking your way up the candle, but leave at least
¼ candle bare. Place in a candle stand that will raise the candle about 6
8 inches, so the
ribbons can “drape” Swirl the bundle of ribbons so they face East, ready to greet the dawn on
Beltane morn. Light candle and cheer the Spring time blessings to come. Keep a “safe” eye on
candle & ribbons.

This is a time when our lives can renew themselves. Spring energy can attract new openings, whether in love or in work or in simple pleasure. Open yourself to the energies around you. Honor the journey toward the future upon which we embark every day. The Goddess is within you as well as all around you. She is your witness as you move toward your destiny.

Your Potions, Philters & Oils for Monday

HALLOWEEN

Your Potions, Philters & Oils for Monday

Philter Recipe for Psychic Power

Today is the time to create philters and potions that work in harmony with your lunar magick. Since the moon is directly linked to psychic abilities, today is the day-no matter what phase the moon happens to currently be in-to create a psychic power philter (or potion, if you prefer). There are many variations to lunar magick. After the philter recipe, you will find more information about the lunar phases and their effect on psychic abilities.

Philter Recipe for Psychic Power

One clear or blue glass bottle with a stopper or lid

A clean dropper

6 inches silver ribbon

A small moon-shaped charm

A label and a pen (to list the ingredients and to decorate and mark the bottle) 8 cup almond base oil (almond is associated with the moon)

13 drops sandalwood oil (a lunar oil that is both spiritual and protective)

3 white rose petals

3 willow leaves or a pinch of dried willow bark

A tiny moonstone chip

Pour the base oil into the bottle until the bottle is three quarters of the way full. Then add the moonstone chip, the rose petals, willow, and finally the essential sandalwood oil. Close up the bottle with the lid, place your fingers over the lid, and carefully shake up the mixture.

Hold up the mixture to the moonlight and allow the moonbeams to illuminate the philter within. On the label, list the ingredients and the use for this potion. Decorate the label by drawing moons or whatever else you think would add to the moon magick.

Attach the label to the glass bottle (wipe off the outside of the bottle first). Finish up by threading the moon charm onto the ribbon and then tying the silver ribbon around the neck of the bottle. As you finish tying on the bow, hold the bottle in your hands and repeat the charm below (Notice there is a place for you to insert which phase of the moon you happen to be currently in. This way, you can customize the philter for specific psychic abilities.)

This philter holds the powers of the moon

May it increase my psychic power soon

The stone adds lunar power and empathy

The herbs and oil increase the power times three

During this_________ quarter’s enchanting moon phase

I’ll work easily with my powers through the day

This potion is enhanced by the moon’s magick so bright

My psychic talents will now blossom and come to light.

Store the philter bottle in a safe, dry place out of direct sunlight. Make sure that you keep all potion and philter bottles well out of reach of children. Now, if you want to get really creative, you can adapt the charm for the philter to work in any of these following lunar energies (which means you could literally create four different lunar philters, one for each phase and psychic influence of the moon).

Monday & The Perfect Corresponding Spell for The Day

When dealing with a weekly spell guide, Mondays are thought to be the logical day for money, love, time and meditation spells. Since Mondays are thought to be the start of the work week, it gives plenty of time for a Monday spell to gain strength throughout the rest of the week.

Moonstone Travel Spell

This spell will call on Meness, the patron moon god of travelers. We met Meness earlier, in the meditation for Monday. I suggest setting up this spell in the evening. Find a spot that faces east or that is illuminated by moonlight. Or try setting this up under the moon, in the garden, or on the porch or your outside deck. Get some atmosphere going! Try using a scented candle, such as jasmine or gardenia, to coordinate the fragrance with the moon’s energies.

Gather the following items:

A photo of your destination, your travel itinerary, or your airline tickets

4 small tumbled moonstones

A scented white votive candle and holder

A lighter or matches

Set up this spell on a safe, flat surface. Light the candle and place it in the holder. Place your paperwork/tickets or itinerary to one side of the candle. Arrange the four stones in a circle around the holder. Place your hands on the travel paperwork, and ground and center. Then repeat the following spell three times:

Meness, patron of travelers, watch over me

Whether I travel in the air, on land, or sea

Like a talisman in my pocket a stone will I tuck

Moonstones do encourage a safe journey and bring good luck. Take one of the stones and keep it in your pocket while you travel. You may close the spell by saying:

For the good of all, with harm to none

By the moon and stars, this spell is done.

Gather up your papers and tuck them away for your trip. Allow the candle to burn out on its own. If you performed this outside, then move your candle and the remaining stones indoors to let the candle safely finish burning. Never leave your candle unattended.

Daily Magickal Applications for Monday

Monday is named after the moon. The Latin term for Monday is Dies Lunae (“moon’s day”); in the Old English language, this day was Monandaeg; in Greek, it was Hermera Selenes. All of these different names and languages translate to the same thing: the “day of the moon.”

Working with the different phases of the moon is an important skill that takes a bit of time for Witches to learn. So why not cut to the chase and experiment with the day of the week that is dedicated to the moon in all of its magickal energies and aspects?

Magickally, Monday encourages the lunar energies of inspiration, illusion, prophetic dreams, emotions, psychic abilities, travel, women’s mysteries, and fertility.

Monday Is Ruled by the Moon

This day of the week is dedicated to the moon and all of her magic and mystery. Mondays are for women’s mysteries, illusion, prophetic dreaming, emotions, travel, and fertility. Some suggestions for Monday enchantments would include:

  • Getting outside and looking for the moon in the heavens. Sit under her light and absorb a little glamour. Call on the moon goddess Selene for practical help in magical issues.
  • Invoking the god Thoth for wisdom and insight
  • Empowering your silver jewelry under the light of the moon. Wear moonstone or pearl jewelry today to add a lunar and magical shimmer to your outfit. Be mysterious and subtle and wear moon-associated colors such as white, silver, and blue.
  • Working spells for safe travel with a simple moonstone
  • Gathering bluebells, jasmine, gardenias, or white roses to create a little garden witchery with the flowers that are associated with the moon
  • Setting up a lunar Tarot spell today to increase your psychic powers
  • Eating a lunar fruit such as a melon to be healthy, serene, and at peace
  • Brewing up a cup of chamomile or mint tea and enchanting it for sweet dreams and restful sleep

St. Zita If you frequently misplace your keys, you probably need to know about St Zita, who is invoked for help finding keys, apparently because she was a sanctimonious Italian serving girl who frequently gave away her master’s bread (and even his fur cloak) to beggars. Apparently she also misplaced his keys from time to time. During her ecstasies, angels baked her bread, so she is also the patron of bakers, housewives and servants
