Some calendars mark today as ‘Three Kings Day,’ a time to celebrate the visit of the Three Wise Men to the infant Jesus. Among the gifts they offered were gold, frankincense and myrrh. Today, I want to concentrate on frankincense. This fragrance has long been used in many spiritual ceremonies and celebratory events because of what some call its ‘mystical/magical’ character. It’s also been used for thousands of years in Indian Ayurvedic medicine due to its anti-inflammatory curative qualities. According to Feng Shui, frankincense is one of the best incenses for cleansing or clearing a space. Used as an anti-cancer, anti-arthritis and anti-aging and cleansing agent, it’s clear why this is a gift for the ages.
