All Signs
Neptune is the planet of dreams, inspiration and imagination as well as illusion, confusion and deceit. Neptune takes 165 years to travel through all 12 signs, and right now it is in Pisces from 2012 to 2025. (When it was last in Pisces from 1847 to 1861, photography came into its own to the chagrin of outlaws in the Wild West.) This week, the Sun lines up with Neptune, which happens once a year. A few days later, the Moon lines up with Neptune, which happens once a month. A double whammy of selflessness and self-deception. “I’d walk through fire for my best friend. Well, not fire – that would be dangerous. But a super humid room…. but not too humid because, you know .. my hair.”
Aries (March 21-April 19)
You get the biggest hit of this fuzzy Neptunian action because it’s all taking place where Neptune lives in your chart. This might make you more aware of childhood behaviour patterns from your past. Now that you see them, you can see how inappropriate they are. You also might see that you’re giving out mixed messages to people: “Come close!” “I need to be alone.” “Come close!” “Go away.” You might also feel that you need to be a bit sacrificial and take one for the team, or work for someone else’s benefit. Actually, this could be rewarding because we get self-respect and self-love by helping others. (Of course, you have to keep score.)
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
This is a tricky week for dealing with friends and members of groups because you’re inclined to idealize someone and expect a lot from them. (Especially if you admire them.) Unfortunately, when you put someone up on a pedestal, they are bound to disappoint you. Furthermore, if you had expectations that you didn’t express – this is a guarantee for disappointment. When we feel idealistic about someone, we think they should be able to read our minds. Somehow “they should know.” (Ha!) But that’s not realistic, is it? Meanwhile, on the upside, you might make ambitious goals for the future this week. “Follow your bliss!”
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
This is a tricky week because this illusory Neptunian influence is taking place at the top of your chart, which could create confusion with parents, bosses, teachers and VIPs – even the police. You might feel disappointed with someone you admire because you expected more, or you feel let down or unnoticed. Possibly, you feel that you’re letting yourself down because you have these high goals and now you can’t achieve them? Give yourself credit for what you are doing. This is a tough year for so many. If you are coping and taking the time to be aware of the needs of others as well as your own – congratulations!
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Your idealism is aroused this week – without question. For many, it will equate with philosophical ideals or something to do with religion or how to address society and the world community in a meaningful way? (Heady stuff.) In a more personal way, you might develop a crush on someone who is “different.” You might also become more involved with wanting to help people in another culture, people who are less fortunate than you. Meanwhile, be careful about confusion when dealing with the law this week. Stay realistic and if you can’t be honest, then say nothing. Don’t lie because this will get you in even deeper and create further regrets. You will find it gratifying to learn something new. (Did you know that baby porcupines are called “porcupettes?”)
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
This week as both the Sun and the Moon line up with Neptune, you might face a situation where your values are at odds with the values of someone else. This is a sobering reality, especially if this person is dear to you. This is something you have to live with because you can’t change other people’s values – only they can. There might also be confusion about inheritances, shared property, taxes, debt or how to spend a certain amount of money or share something. We have different ideas about what generosity means. Keep in mind that Leos are very generous. They will even borrow money to lend it to someone. Very few would do this.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Your closest relationships – spouse, partner or dear friend, could be the source of some confusion and disappointment for you this week. In all likelihood, you might be expecting too much from this person? Or perhaps you have not expressed your expectations? (After all, they can’t read your mind.) Misunderstandings and confused communications will be classic. On the upside, you might also have a mind-meld with someone because your Spidey sense is highly developed now when it comes to dealing with others. So, this situation could go either way. You might feel disappointed or disillusioned or you might feel a true, almost spiritual bond with someone.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
The Neptunian influence that is present this week will introduce tendencies to be selfless and altruistic and to be willing to work for others without reward and even without recognition. (This is kinda tough to do unless you have a Mother Teresa style.) Nevertheless, it’s possible. Therefore, if you find yourself in a situation where you are giving more and going more than halfway to help someone else – just suck it up. It’s par for the course right now. It’s okay, you’re not being a martyr or a fool. This is an influence that can permeate your job or something to do with your health or even your relationship with a pet. “It’s a joy to labour for those you love.”
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
The conjunction of the Sun and the Moon with Neptune will create number of possibilities for you this week. One is it could relate to romance. You might be head over heels in love with someone and expecting a fairytale. If this doesn’t happen, you might be disappointed. Kierkegaard said, “The most painful state is remembering the future.” Neptune triggers disillusionment. You might also feel disappointed with your kids. Or you might feel disappointed with your own creative output or lack of it. However, on the upside you might be completely open to your muse and be in touch with your artistic expression. This Neptune influence can create many possibilities.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
The area where you might have the greatest misunderstandings this week will be with home and family. Conversations with a parent might be like two ships passing in the night. Relatives might not understand what you’re trying to do or what is important to you? Or perhaps someone in the family accuses you of misunderstanding them? This could lead to disappointment. Or perhaps this influence will inspire you to be the best that you can possibly be for a family member? You want to do whatever you can within your power to help them or make their life happier and easier. You might even use this same influence to redecorate or create more beauty in your home. It can manifest in many ways.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Please make an effort to be as clear as possible in your dealings and communications with your everyday world this week to avoid serious misunderstandings that might occur. In fact, you might encounter someone who misleads you. At its worst, you might even doubt your own ideas and thoughts? However, you might also pursue studies, conversations and ideas about metaphysics, mystical subjects, karma and reincarnation because you want to understand how things work. Neptune can create illusion but it can also put you in touch with your highest ideals. It’s a mixed bag.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This week it’s important for you to keep your eyes open because the Neptunian influence that I mention in All Signs above can affect your assets, your wealth, your money and your cash flow. Think twice before you give something away. Make sure you know what you’re doing with how you handle your possessions and your wealth this week. Above all, you don’t want to have regrets later about what you do now. Likewise, be careful about sudden splurges of extravagance. If you are tempted to blow your money, keep your receipts – and the box. Things might not be as they appear. The worst-case scenario is that you are even being deceived in some way. (Yikes!)
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Well, all this Neptunian influence is happening right before your very eyes because the Sun is lining up with Neptune in Pisces; and this week, the Moon will be in Pisces and it too, will line up with Neptune. In addition to which, fair Venus is also in Pisces. Yes, it’s all about you! You might experience two extremes of these influences or both. You might feel turned on by ideals, dreams and the love of beauty to the point that it feels spiritual and that you are in touch with the Divine. Alternatively, you might feel disappointed, disillusioned and discouraged because life isn’t turning out how you had hoped it would. Actually, both these extremes are an illusion. Do not give into either one. If your head is in the clouds, make sure your feet are on the ground. Trust to your own staying power because within a matter of weeks, everything will change.
