Imbolc – Brigid’s Well Spell

To Heal Or Bring General Good Health

Purpose:  To ease ill-health or bring well-being in the coming year.

Background:  Imbolc is also known as the Feast of Brigid, a well-beloved Irish Goddess renowned as a patron of healing. Many springs and rivers are sacred to her, bearing features of her name, in Brittany, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, but her strongest association with the healing power of waters is with wells.

In pre-Christian times, people venerated the genii loci, or “spirits of place,” of natural locations that were considered particularly sacred springs and wells, sources of water that came up from the earth, were considered very special, and healing properties, including cures for eye and skin problems, became attributed to many of those associated with Brigid. In this spell, you will be recreating Brigid’s Well in symbol, in the form of a pottery or stone bowl or cup. Since Brigid’s Healing Well is a spiritual symbol, this recreation is just as valid as if you had applied to the spirit of a well in Kildare, in Ireland, or a river in Wales. You may make up to three requests for healing, including one for general good health, as appropriate.

How to cast the Spell

Items You Will Need:

  • Six white candles, 6-8″ in length
  • One stone or pottery cup or bowl
  • Three small beach pebbles
  • One small cup of salt
  • Spring water
  • Matches

Timing:  Cast this spell at Imbolc

Casting the Spell:

  • Place the candles all around the cup.
  • Name each stone as an ailment you wish healed, as appropriate, sprinkling a pinch of salt over each. Breathe onto them, saying:

By my breath.

  • Cover them with your hands, saying:

By my flesh.

  • Place the in the cup, and cover them with water, saying:

By the living waters of Brigid, may health prevail and good reside.

  • Light each candle, saying:

Hail, Lady of Fire.

  • Hold your palms toward the flames and close your eyes, then visualize dark stains on the stones dissolving in the water, rising to the surface to be burned away in the candle flames.
  • Chant the following until you feel the energies in the circle rise:

Earth, water, flame

Work in Her name

Earth, water, fire

Work my desire.

Discharge the energy raised by raising your hands into the air and mentally releasing it.

  • Return the stones to a beach as soon as possible after Imbolc night.

HEALING STONE

HEALING STONE

What you will need: any stone , a green candle and a white one
To make the healing stone: take an average stone from your yard or anywhere else
(if you have no yard or they all really suck) or you can purchase one like a tiger’s eye.
Once you’ve got one cast your circle, call your quarters.
Do an alter devotion then cleanse consecrate, and empower it.
Instill the flame of a green candle and a white one to empower it with healing magic and purify it.
While doing this hold your pentacle over it and say as many healing spells as you know.
Then pour holy water on it and you’re done.

AMETHYST HEALING OIL SPELL

The following ingredients are needed
You will need one-quarter ounce of almond oil, twenty-five drops of lavender essential oil, five drops of lilac scented oil, four drops of carnation essential oil, one drop of jasmine-scented oil, one drop of rosemary essential oil, five coriander seeds, a bottle with a top large enough to fit all of the ingredients, and an amethyst crystal.

This healing oil can be used for both aromatherapy and message.

Mix all of the oils plus the coriander seeds together in the bottle. Put the cap on the bottle, and shake vigorously while chanting.

Grace this oil with your divine power.

Using your breath, clear the amethyst crystal by imagining a clear mountain stream. Next, send the image into the crystal by pulsing the breath out of your nose at the same time you send the image into the crystal. Repeat this process three times for the best results. Now, imagine a magnificent healing flower opening up in your mindÂ’s eye. At the memonet the flower fully opens, use your breath to pulse the image into the amethyst. Repeat this process three times.

Place the amethyst crystal into the bottle of oil and leave it there. Anoint yourself with the oil after dark whenever you like. Anytime you gat a chance, place the bottle of oil in a place where it can absorb moonlight. This will strengthen the healing effects of the oil. When you do this, ask for the help of a moon goddess. Use the oil within a couple of weeks for best results.

Clearly point out the problem in the picture; a large hammer to the head to represent a headache;
black worms for a virus; a broken limb; a sore.

Large circle of cloth St. John’s wort oil 2 yellow candles yellow flowers
Spread cloth on floor and sprinkle few drops on blood-red St. John’s wort oil.
Anoint candles with more oil and divide flowers into two bunches.
Sit in the middle of the cloth and place flowers at the edge of cloth on each side.
Light candles and place them in front and behind you.
Pick 2 perfect blooms and hold one upright palm on your hand.
Focus your mind and chant:
“Oh healing light, surround me now,
relive my spirit’s darkest hour”
Imagine the light being drawn from the candles into the flowers on your palms,
and from there feel it permeating the whole of your body.
Try to keep concentration for 20 minutes.
To complete, take the two flowers in your hands and give them back to Mother Earth.
