Now and then we have a week when we need to defend ourselves from those who diminish us or wear us down. That week has arrived. Be on guard! They will emerge from beneath bridges, high hedges and the organic produce aisles. They might be in disguise, walking their miniature bull terrier, even bearing gifts! Do not get sucked into words that confirm your worst fears about yourself. Don’t beat yourself up for what you can’t or didn’t do. Stay strong. You are doing your best dealing with your life. Be kind. Help others. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche said, “Do not take lightly small good deeds, believing they can hardly help. For drops of water one by one in time can fill a giant pot.”
Aries (March 21-April 19)
This is a tough week for romance, which is why lover’s quarrels might take place. It might also be a challenging week dealing with your kids. Take note: one of the challenges is the fact that this is an accident-prone time for your kids so be extra vigilant to keep them safe. Know where they are and make sure toddlers are free from hazardous situations. Authority figures, parents and people who are older might squelch you or be critical about your style for dealing with sports, creative projects, vacations and social outings – and dealing with your kids. Is there no justice? Fear not, with lucky Jupiter in your sign, you have divine protection.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Tread carefully this week. Without doubt, you will have difficulty dealing with family members, especially parents. They will be critical or block your actions and ideas. (Naturally, this will go over like a lead balloon.) However, your response might be a tad heavy because fiery Mars is in your sign. This makes you much more of a fighter for your own rights than usual. You won’t let anyone take anything away from you; and yes, you will be more irritable and touchy than usual. If attacked – you will respond! Helpful tip: Get physical exercise or do physical work to blow off any pent-up steam building within you. Heave ho!
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
I can’t sugarcoat this. Both the Sun and your ruler Mercury are in the part of your chart that is your “home.” And while they are sitting there this week, they are challenged by Saturn, Mars and Uranus! This means you will feel that rules, regulations and laws block what you want to do. Politics might even challenge you. Meanwhile, something going on behind the scenes will also create obstacles for you, to the extent that around Thursday, you’re in an accident-prone situation. Therefore, pay attention to everything you say and do. Be mindful and aware. Think before you speak or act, for your own benefit – and the benefit of others. Fingers crossed!.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
All of us are facing challenges this week because four different planetary combination will be tough to deal with. In all likelihood, much of the frustration that you will feel this week will pertain to money, cash flow, earnings and anything to do with your possessions and your personal belongings. Be aware of this. For starters, you might want to keep some cash on hand. Most definitely, stay in touch with your bank account and your finances because something might impact or limit you. Guard your possessions against loss, theft or damage. Know what’s going on ahead of time so that you can do some damage control. By Sunday, things are fine and all this is in the past.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
It’s time to adhere to the Boy Scouts motto: Be prepared! Why? Because you are in the firing line of tough planetary aspects this week, and many of them involve Mercury (the planet with domain over daily communications and our daily activities) – and right now, Mercury is in your sign! Oy vey! For starters, because Mercury will be at odds with Mars, you will be touchy, irritable and view many communications as a challenge. The worst scenario is you will feel you have to defend yourself, especially with bosses, parents and authority figures. Later in the week, life will be so fast-paced, it will be frantic. Meanwhile, you might feel isolated, lonely or separated from others. This is definitely the time to send out for dark chocolate. By Sunday, all is well.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
This will be a relatively tough week to grapple with because your ruler Mercury is at odds with three different planets on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Meanwhile, Mercury is hiding in your chart, which means you might feel powerless to deal with whatever annoys you. You might feel attacked, but you can’t actually do anything or say anything. Don’t let this upset you or get you down. For starters, it’s temporary, and by Sunday, things return to normal. Furthermore, a lot of what is happening will be your own point of view and your own negative perception. Look for activities and social diversions that please you. A friend will be a source of comfort and pleasure. Whew!
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You are a social sign. Furthermore, you are a people pleaser. You don’t like to rock the boat. Meanwhile, this week promises dissension, difficulties and stressful interactions with others – both friends and groups. (Disputes about shared property or inheritances are likely.) Obviously, you don’t like arguing with others. It’s good to know that the entire world is facing these challenges in different ways according to their sign. It’s not just you. Accept these upsets knowing that by Sunday, the dust will settle. Fortunately, with Venus at the top of your chart, you look good to others. Patience is the antidote to anger. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
You are the most strong-willed sign in the zodiac. When you’re unhappy – everyone knows about it. This week, you will likely encounter challenges and difficult times dealing with parents, bosses, authority figures and the police. Arguments and disputes, as well as sudden upsets, will be tough to avoid. Even family members and parents will get in the way, and slow you down or create further problems for you. If you can travel, this will be a welcome escape. (However, some of your challenges will be with a partner or close friend who might be travelling with you!) Be aware that you are high viz. People notice you. Be cool. Demonstrate grace under pressure.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Many of you are interested in philosophical ideas and politics. This is one reason why this week, you might encounter obstacles dealing with the media, higher education and medicine, as well as matters related to publishing. Legal issues and entanglements will be difficult. You might be upset by political situations or something you learn about in the news. You might even be in the news! Work-related travel will be challenging; in fact, potentially accident-prone so be careful. Conversations with siblings, relatives and neighbours might discourage you. This is tough because optimism and physical activity are survival issues for your sign. Get out and do some physical exercise. What you need overhead is sky.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
We all face a lot of challenges this week, and according to our sign, these challenges are slightly different. You might encounter serious obstacles related to financial matters. It might be tough to get a loan or mortgage. Something might be cancelled at the last minute leaving you high and dry. You might encounter disputes about shared property or inheritances. Insurance people might be tough to deal with. On top of this, financial matters in general, especially disputes about bills or taxes, might also be a headache. Fortunately, a close friend or partner will be supportive, like a replenishing oasis in the desert for you. There’s always hope. By Sunday, all is well.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
This week, you might find it challenging dealing with a close friend, a spouse or a business partner. You might even feel that no matter what you do, you end up in the doghouse. You might find it difficult to deal with work colleagues. Issues related to your job might suddenly blow up in your face. This could be due to equipment breakdowns, late deliveries or some kind of surprise or unexpected interruption. If possible be smart and work ahead of time so that you have wiggle room to deal with the unexpected. Meanwhile, criticism from a boss or an authority figure could be a bummer.
