Full Moon in Sagittarius:
The Body Temple, the Light Bulb and Crystal Visions

Hello friends. Ah it’s that time of year again for the Full Moon in Sagittarius along with the Sun in Gemini. Though I normally don’t delve into the other planetary aspects too much in my Full Moon reports, I do mention what I think is relevant. In this case it would be Mercury (Retrograde) and Mars both currently in Gemini. This Retrograde period as predicted and expected has offered us much more than the usual communication irritations and snafus. That is, for the folks really paying attention and I know you are dear readers! We’ve also had a strong presence of Neptune which is including the energy of the “depths” which is adding to the transformation potential and “aha!” moments.

AUM is where the Heart is

Both Gemini and Sagitarius (Air/Fire respectively) are not energies to sit anything out, usually. They are both active and mental but on both sides of the mental spectrum. Gemini is the “Reporter” archetype and likes to explore multiple views. The shadow energy being flightly, superficial and/or too distracted to commit. Sagittarius on the other hand loves altruism and the pursuit of truth, especially spiritual or idealogical ones. The shadow is too become too dogmatic, preachy or even intractible, which isn’t always usual for a mutable sign. There is a rather frenetic “buzz” that usually accompanies this Full Moon and it can make some people edgy or even irritated. This current Retrograde period has been deeply transformative and introspective, not usually the domain of Gemini necessarily, but there is a greater overarching cosmic direction happening here. We are in a powerful year of karmic manifestation and magnification, where unknown or hidden things may have continued to come to light. One key I feel, is to utilize the Jupiterian (expansive) energy of Sagittarius and fly above the “buzz” and straight into the Hum or the AUM/OM; a place of great peace, spiritual communication and magic. Sagittarius is also the realm of spiritual optimism, which may be a great healing “medicine” to some of the tougher energies of late, especially the “karmic blender” of late March and April.

Now there I go again I see, the crystal vision. I keep my visions to myself. ~ Stevie Nicks “Dreams”

This moon is impacted by two Sabian Symbols and my feeling is that in the unfolding of its energy we will experience both. 11 Sagittarius: In The Left Section Of An Archaic Temple, A Lamp Burns In A Container Shaped Like A Human Body. This has been related to “physical enlightenment” and the concept that enlightment occurs “at home” and not anywhere else. It is also a reference to the holiness of the human being and the body as a temple in itself. Do you have any physical or emotional challenges impeding you? Listen to the messages they offering. Allow your own priest/ess of the temple to shed light on the situation. The 11th degree in the Sabian Symbol system has been referred to as the “light bulb” degree.

12 Sagittarius: A Flag Turns Into An Eagle; The Eagle Into A Chanticleer Saluting The Dawn. To me, this is quite clear in that the flag which symbolizes territory, land and nationality transforms into something much greater; a system of Great Spirit/Source which flys above it, seeing it all. Saluting the dawn also has a beautiful connotation. This would normally be more associated with a New Moon as opposed to a Full one with its sense of a creative stillpoint, but I think for the current energies it’s particularly appropriate.

Keynote: If one can tune into the higher, healing frequencies of this moon and ignore the static and the tendency to overthink (or overspeak) it, there is great potential for spiritual connection, communication and vision.

Happy Full Moon friends!

NOTE: The Full Moon in Sagittarius is 6.2.15 at 9:19 am PDT/12:19 PM EDT.

Weekly Forecast: May 31 – June 6, 2015

a message from Kelly M. Beard
Read more of Kelly’s insight as www.KarmicTools.com
The Karmic Tools Weekly Forecast covers the current planetary transits which affect people in different ways and to various degrees of intensity. Take notice when it is a Personal planet (Sun / Moon / Mercury / Venus / Mars) interacting with a Social (Jupiter/Saturn) or Collective planet (Uranus / Neptune/Pluto). And pay extremely close attention when it is a Social planet interacting with a Collective planet because that means something *big* is brewing that will move large groups of people along their evolutionary paths. Tuning in to the energy and rhythm of the planets can serve as a useful *guide* as you move along your Individual Path. It also helps to understand your place within the context of the larger Social & Collective Story. Below, you will find out how these energies tend to manifest, as well as guidance and direction.

*NOTE* There are some days when there are NO CONTACTS (besides the Moon), please note that there are no missing entries, we just list the actual Activations of each week + the day they happen.
Weekly Forecast: May 31 – June 6, 2015

5/31 ~ Sun (core identity) ~square~ Neptune (dissolution):

Your energy may be lower than usual today. This is the Universe’s way of slowing you down, momentarily. Take it easy and put off anything that can be put off. You may feel pessimistic, however, it will pass. In the meantime, try not to do anything that requires confidence or courage. If you do take on an ambitious project, you may find later that your objectives were totally unrealistic and/or impossible to attain. Be aware of any urge to deceive – in your Self or others. Take those rose-colored glasses off and deal with what IS, not what you wish it was.

6/5 ~ Mars (your desire) ~sextile~ Jupiter (your Truth):

This energy will help you figure out what your deepest desires and Truth really are if you are not sure, and if you ARE sure already, then this is a potent opportunity to take things to the next level. You will have lots of extra energy, so definitely work in some physical activity (but don’t over-do it), make any presentations you need to make, negotiate any contracts or deals you need to because all is supported for you knowing who you are and what you want in a way that conveys without much effort on your part. The effort required to activate this easy energy is to actively pursue your desires, to expand your horizons by learning something new, by being around other like-minded souls and putting that extra energy behind some worthy project … YOU!

6/6 ~ Venus (love & money) ~trine~ Saturn (stability):

This energy tends to make you very realistic about your relationships and is, therefore, a good time to talk about any recent challenges or future plans. Venus is the energy of love and money, so you will also be objective and somewhat conservative where both your relationships and finances are concerned. With this interaction with Saturn, I would suggest outlining a reasonable financial goals for the next 3 – 6 – 12 months. Relationships started under this influence should be fairly stable and more practical than passionate, but solid nonetheless.

Your Weekly Astrology for June 1 – 7

Weekly Astrology: June 1 – 7, 2015

Going above and beyond

It’s a week to open your mind, your heart, and your faith! Things are happening on a grand scale now … are you ready?

Tuesday, June 2: Full Moon in Sagittarius

Are you willing to ask the big questions in life, even if you don’t find an answer? That’s the theme of Tuesday’s Full Moon in Sagittarius. Remember that in your life it’s the journey that matters, not the destination. Still, your internal GPS might be slightly confused thanks to this Full Moon being square Neptune and opposite Mercury, now in retrograde. Old belief systems and modes of thinking are likely to come up for review, and it’ll be time to discard what’s no longer working in your reality.

Friday, June 5: Venus enters Leo; Mars in Gemini sextile Jupiter

On Friday, love planet Venus enters Leo. Venus in Leo promises romance on a grand scale so now, you’ll settle for nothing less than lavish expressions of love. Mars will be at a supportive sextile to Jupiter on the same day giving you the ability to put your optimism to work for you. This will definitely be a sexy day!

Saturday, June 6: Venus trine Saturn

On Saturday the tone goes from carefree romance to relationship substance. Venus will trine Saturn and if you’re attached, you’ll feel quite secure in your union. Financially, a cautious gamble looks like it’ll pay off, and a creative gift put into practice can be financially profitable for a long time to come.

The Witches Magick for the 1st Day of the Dyad Moon – Dyad Moon Ritual

THE MAGIC CARDS *Dyad Moon Ritual

The word dyad means “couple” or “two.” For the Dyad Moon, the couple is the Goddess and God. They represent two polarities coming together in a sacred union of Oneness. Also known as the “Boon Moon,” this high moon is a time to ask for magical gifts from the Goddess. She looked at the good works the person had done throughout the year, then decided whether to grant the boon. In this spell you are bringing the divine female and male energies of the Goddess and God together, and in their union, you ask for your boon.

You will need two candles, one green and one red; two sticks, nine inches long; and a piece of white string eighteen inches long.

Begin by opening a circle of light, and lighting the green and red candles. As you do this, invite the divine into your circle:

Divine Goddess and God,
Sacred Mother and Father of all
Please hear my call
And bless this circle with your light.

Around the two sticks, wind the piece of string, tying them securely together. Drip six drops of wax, three from each of the candles, onto the sticks and string, and say:

What was once two is now one
Dear Lady, see what I’ve done
Should you find me worthy
Then please grant my boon to me.
[State your desire.]
Ayea! Ayea! Ayea! Blessed be!

After you are done, thank the Goddess and God, close your circle, and allow the candles to safely burn down.’

WOTC Extra – Simple Connection Ritual

witchWOTC Extra – Simple Connection Ritual

This ritual is a good way to put out a call to like-minded people to come into your life. It is one you can do daily, until you reach your goal. For the ritual, you will need wool or embroidery thread in three colors— one that you feel represents you, one to represent your path, and one to represent others. I have found that charity shops and yard sales are great places to pick up affordable balls of wool or thread.

Sit somewhere comfortable and take a long length of each of your colored threads so you have three strands. With them laid out in front of you, knot the strands together at the top and start to braid them together carefully. (I have found this is easier if you work at a table away from helpful cats’ paws!) Do each braid slowly and deliberately, from right to center and then from left to center. As you braid, say some simple words over and over as a chant, something like:

Connections for me, so mote it be!

Braid the strands together a little every day for nine days. At the end of the nine days, knot the two ends together to form a circle. Place the circle of braided thread on a safe surface and light a tea light in the center. Say:

The circle’s complete, new friends I will meet!

Allow the candle to burn down safely if you can. Once your spell’s complete, bury your circle of thread, returning your spell to the earth for recycling. Your energy and call have been sent. Look out for new opportunities and situations that present themselves to you, and be active in following leads to connections. Remember, magic will only work if you are the driving force behind it!

Let’s Talk Witch – Connecting With the Outside World

witchConnecting With the Outside World

Working as a Solitary Hedgewitch is an extremely rewarding path. You work as a single energy with the world around you, quietly making each day magickal for you and those around you, for the greater good of all. But sometimes, it can be a lonely path, with no one to talk to about your magic or beliefs, no one to connect with or even to exchange ideas with. On the other hand, a coven or group may not necessarily be the way you want to go. Because we are all human, groups have a tendency to get a bit cliquey. You know what I mean— he said/ she said stuff. Groups that manage to maintain a balance are rare, but they do exist. So if you are after a group setting for your rituals and magic and you find a good one, hold on tight to it!

In general, however, we Hedgewitches like to work alone. So how do we connect with others to share all our magical stuff ? Well, if you have a local shop where you get your witchy supplies, chances are others like you will frequent the same shop— so get chatting with them. If someone notices your pentacle necklace and asks a question— chat! Welcome interest in what you believe and practice, and have confidence in your own path. I know, however, that not everyone is as fortunate as I am to live somewhere where alternative beliefs are accepted. If this is the case for you and you want to meet like-minded people, you may need to travel farther afield to a witchy fair or a solstice celebration. People with the same ideals tend to gather together to honor the festivals, so head to your nearest monument or hilltop. If you’re there, chances are others will be too.

By far the most popular way to connect with others is now online. We are so fortunate to have the Internet, and we should all make use of this modern technology if we can. The online world opens the doors to a world of Hedgewitchery that our ancestors could only dream of! Facebook and social networking sites can provide links to others with interests similar to yours. They are meeting places for like-minded folks to chat and interact. I have met so many wonderful people through my site— they are my online family! There are so many ideas that have now been put online by people sharing with others that the Internet should be celebrated and not feared.

Of course, you should never place yourself in harm’s way. Always follow safe online practices. Research and check any groups or communities that interest you and remember, you don’t have to give out any information you don’t want to. Online, you can exchange ideas and thoughts, get involved in celebrations and forums, and feel a part of something. You may still be working alone, but there is a wealth of knowledge there at your fingertips. There is much to be gained by sharing knowledge in any way we can, and online is a great way to do it— a bit like reading a book and then having a chat about it at a book club.

Remember, it’s not just about connecting with other people on your path; it’s also about your connection to the world in general. Everything around us has a connection to us all. The elements, plants and animals, the earth, sky, ocean, and fields— all are part of our shared reality. So we need to reinforce our connection to them every single day. Touch base with what is around you; help where you can; heal whenever it is needed; volunteer if you have the time; make a difference. Make a mark on the world. Become at one with everything and everyone. Seeing all aspects of the world and acknowledging your connection to other things and other people will strengthen your magic.

Celebrating Other Spirituality 365 Days A Year – Festival of Carna

THE MAGIC CAVE *June 1

All life, even in its lowest form, is energy.
—Plontinus

Traditionally, the first day of June was set aside for the festival of Carna, the Roman Goddess of door hinges, and thus domestic life. She was thought to dwell in a sacred wood called Locus Helerni, on the banks of the Tiber River. It was there that sacrifices were made to Carna by the pontiffs to ensure the well-being of the community.

Carna also held responsibility for the protection of the people from vampires that took the form of semi-human birds who tried to suck the blood of unattended newborn babies. According to Robert Graves The White Goddess, it was only the priestess who cooked her feast food of white beans and pork, that served during the festivities.

Daily Magickal Applications for Monday

Haunted HouseDaily Magickal Applications for Monday

Monday is named after the moon. The Latin term for Monday is Dies Lunae (“moon’s day”); in the Old English language, this day was Monandaeg; in Greek, it was Hermera Selenes. All of these different names and languages translate to the same thing: the “day of the moon.”

Working with the different phases of the moon is an important skill that takes a bit of time for Witches to learn. So why not cut to the chase and experiment with the day of the week that is dedicated to the moon in all of its magickal energies and aspects?

Magickally, Monday encourages the lunar energies of inspiration, illusion, prophetic dreams, emotions, psychic abilities, travel, women’s mysteries, and fertility.

Monday Is A Day of Witchery, Magick and Enchantment

SalamandraMonday Is A Day of Witchery, Magick and Enchantment

Think for a moment on all of the witchery, magick and enchantments that you have discovered. Don’t be afraid to adjust spells to suit your own specific needs. Any gentle, illusory, and dreamy charms and spells can be enhanced when you work on the day of the week that is dedicated to the moon. Mondays are a fantastic day to boost your psychic abilities and to tune in to your intuition and empathy. It also gives you the opportunity to work with a different lunar phase each and every Monday, which means in one month you could work four different types of moon magicks on Mondays. How’s that for adding to your repertoire? You are going to have mad skills in no time at all.

So light up those lunar scented candles and add a little mystique to your outfit by wearing an enchanting lunar color. Wear your sparkling silver jewelry and maybe add a pair of dangling silver earrings or a pendant shaped like a crescent moon. Create lunar potions and philters; make a dream catcher and give it as a gift to someone you love. Burn some sandalwood or jasmine-scented incense today to inspire the glamour and magick of the moon. Slice up a favorite variety of fruit that is in season for a snack or share it with your love and enjoy his or her lunar and romantic qualities. Brew up a cup of chamomile tea, enchant it with a little moon magick, and relax and get a good night’s sleep.

Most importantly, get outside tonight and watch the moon for a while. What phase is she in? What color was the moon as she rose? Why not start a journal and write down at what location the moon rises and sets for a few seasons? This is a great way to teach you to tune in and to become more aware of the moon and the influence that she pulls into our lives. Try calling on Selene for her magickal assistance, and call Thoth for wisdom and strength. Get to know the Norse Mani and the Latvian Meness. These gods of the moon have plenty to teach, and if you allow their influence to cycle through your life, you’ll receive many blessings. Be imaginative, and create your own personal lunar magick and witchery. Go on….the moonlight becomes you.

Key Words: Magick, dreams, health, love, home and family In the word Monday, we can see part of the word Moon.

In the romance languages such as Italian or Spanish, this day of the week is called Lunes and clearly relates to the word lunar.

On Mondays, a variety of magick may be worked. Because Monday centers on the energies of the Moon, things like psychism, dreams, feminine energy, health, success in spiritual pursuits, domestic matters, and things of family origin are especially important this day. Mondays are best for love magick and anything concerning home or family, thus old saying, Mondays child is fair of face, which seems clearly to relate to the themes of love and health.

Angels of Monday are Gabriel, Arcan, Missabu, and Abuzaha. Arcan is known as the king of the angels of air and the “ruler” of Monday. Abuzaha (Abuzohar) serves Monday, and is very responsive to invocations and ritual magick.

Missabu is a ministering angel of Arcan. Check whether the moon is waning or waxing to determine what your spell will be. During waning moons, do spells to rid yourself of obstacles or for wisdom and protection. During waxing moons do magic for increase of any kind or to draw something into your life. On Mondays, the best hour to work is moonrise.

A Very Happy & Blessed June To All As Well As A Very Blessed & Happy Monday!

witchy waysWitches

As the sun sets
The moon rises.
We are called.
Gathering deep in the forest
Our capes flap in the wind.
Hoods covering our head
As we form our circle
Hand in hand we take our places.
The elements are called forth:
Wind, rain, earth and fire.
We are filled with their energy.
In a low chant We call for our Mother.
The Goddess answers our call,
She stands before us,
Center in our circle.
We lower our heads to her grace.
Our circle is filled with her love.
Energy flows from her to us.
Slowly we rise;
Our feet no longer touch the ground.
Wind rips through the trees.
Flames raise high from the fire.
Rain beats on the earth below
Yet, we remain dry.
Power transfers from Sister to Sister.
The Goddess’s influence is felt.
Sounds from the forest fill the air.
All is alive.
Energy fills all there,
We know who we are,
The Witches of the present.
Those long past have joined us.
We know our beginning.
We know our past.
We know our future,
Witches now and forever.

Astronomy Picture of the Day – Supernova and the Unexpected Universe

Astronomy Picture of the Day

Discover the cosmos! Each day a different image or photograph of our fascinating universe is featured, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer.

2015 May 31

Supernova 1994D and the Unexpected Universe
Image Credit: High-Z Supernova Search Team, HST, NASA

Explanation: Long ago, far away, a star exploded. Supernova 1994D, visible as the bright spot on the lower left, occurred in the outskirts of disk galaxy NGC 4526. Supernova 1994D was not of interest for how different it was, but rather for how similar it was to other supernovae. In fact, the light emitted during the weeks after its explosion caused it to be given the familiar designation of a Type Ia supernova. If all Type 1a supernovae have the same intrinsic brightness, then the dimmer a supernova appears, the farther away it must be. By calibrating a precise brightness-distance relation, astronomers are able to estimate not only the expansion rate of the universe (parameterized by the Hubble Constant), but also the geometry of the universe we live in (parameterized by Omega and Lambda). The large number and great distances to supernovae measured over the past few years, when combined with other observations, are interpreted as indicating that we live in a previously unexpected universe.
