Your Daily Horoscopes for Tuesday, August 25th

Aries

The Moon moves into your responsibility sector early into the day, dear Aries, bringing your attention to professional and practical priorities. Happily, there is a Mercury-Saturn aspect forming, exact tomorrow but influencing today as well, that supports your efforts to prioritize and take care of business. It’s a strong time for limiting distractions and activities so that you can concentrate. It’s also a good period for focusing on one thing at a time, one step at a time. You can benefit from ordering and organizing your personal workspace.

Taurus

You can accomplish quite a bit on practical levels today, dear Taurus. Energies are best for focusing on one thing at a time right now, so set aside some hours alone, if possible. If a project or area of your life can benefit from some tidying, downsizing, or editing work, you may want to focus your energies on it. You are seeing things more clearly and have a good eye for detail. Romantic relationships and partnerships can be strengthened today by shows of reliability and security.

Gemini

The ability to organize, plan out, and edit is strong today, dear Gemini, and your focus on long-term benefits rather than short-term pleasure can help you prioritize and take care of business. You’re also appreciated for “being there” for someone or for being responsible and reliable. It can be a good time for gaining clarity in your personal life, and for making clarifications as well. This is a strong day for research and finding the information you need, but do watch for digging too deeply when it comes to personal matters.

Cancer

This is a strong day for getting a handle on some pesky little problems, dear Cancer, as you’re more patient and strategic in your thinking, and especially careful with your methods and overall approach. You can win the respect of elders or authority figures, and learn a little something from them today. Showing your humble side is favored now. It’s a good time to plan ahead. In your personal life, clarifications might be made without too much ado. You’ll appreciate dealing with straight facts, and fortunately, the day’s energies favor clarity.

Leo

It’s a good time to have a meaningful or practical conversation with someone, dear Leo. The day’s energies are not very spontaneous, but you may enjoy some level of routine as well as increased clarity today nevertheless. It’s a time for attention to details, building, planning, and organizing. You are more able to think of long-term benefits, and less concerned about short-term pleasures, and this helps you to approach your work and endeavors with patience. It also helps you to see your priorities, at the very least in the material world.

Virgo

Your words have more impact today and tomorrow, dear Virgo, and you generally possess more clout than usual. Today brings nice energy for self-expression, although you are of a somewhat more serious frame of mind than you typically are. It’s a good time for learning endeavors, speaking, and writing, especially if these things require special attention to details. You possess more self-discipline now, but you are also in more need of changes of scenery with the Moon now in your adventure sector, turning your emotional attention to dreams, ideals, and life experience.

Libra

This is a strong day for getting a handle on practical matters, dear Libra, but you’re also very focused on personal affairs, family, or home life. You would benefit greatly from concentrating on one or two tasks and making real headway. Priorities tend to be clearer today and tomorrow, and fulfilling responsibilities can be especially satisfying. You can also crave an overhaul or of sorts, or a reorganization, particularly on an emotional level or in your home environment.

Scorpio

You have a strong grasp of both traditions and trends today, dear Scorpio, and this helps you to make solid creative decisions that are also practical. It can also be easier than usual to convince others of the value of your ideas today and tomorrow, and in fact, your ideas can have quite the gold touch right now. You might settle into a routine quite willingly today, and productivity improves as a result. Your concerns tend to be about the long-term, which keeps you in a practical frame of mind and helps you to see priorities.

Sagittarius

The Moon moves out of your sign shortly into the day, dear Sagittarius, and into your resources sector. This tends to have the effect of settling your emotions and can turn your attention to more practical than emotional matters. It’s in fact a good time for getting a little more serious, concentrating, and attending to details, and this energy continues into tomorrow. Patience and precision are not generally associated with your sign, but today’s energies favor these things. You might decide to cut out some of the extras so that you can focus better on what needs to be done. For some of you, a partner or special friend can be especially supportive or helpful today and tomorrow.

Capricorn

With the Moon in your sign today, dear Capricorn, emotions are larger than life. It also gives you a sense of a new beginning on a personal level, and your Lunar Return to your Sun this month looks quite good. The Moon aligns with Pluto tonight, making it important, however, to focus more on dealing with core issues than spreading your attention around. Make an effort to hone in on essentials and let go of the rest as much as possible. Your personal appeal is strong today and tomorrow, and especially so when it comes to your ideas, communications, and intelligence.

Aquarius

You are expressing yourself especially clearly right now, dear Aquarius, and others are truly listening! It’s a strong time for performing tasks that require attention to detail, and for learning new methods or picking up new skills. Even so, honing or improving existing ones can benefit as well. The long-term is more interesting to you than immediate results, making it an ideal day for working on projects of value and for knowing your priorities. Your judgment is especially sound today and tomorrow. The Moon moves into your privacy sector shortly into the day, reminding you of the need to rest and/or reflect on an emotional level. This short period is good for slipping under the radar and seeking out more peace and quiet.

Pisces

Today is strong for sharing your thoughts with a special someone, dear Pisces. There need not be a solution to problems, but talking about them can certainly help. Even so, on practical levels, you are looking for answers, and you’re likely to find them. While routine might bore you on other days, you are able to see its value today and tomorrow, and might take some comfort in it. Today’s energies favor a step-by-step and traditional approach. Tried and true methods tend to be called for now.

Zodiac Sign Qualities

Explore the meaning of Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable signs

Ok friends, are you ready to dive a little bit deeper into Astrology? You probably know there are 12 zodiac signs and four elements (Fire, Earth, Air and Water), but have you heard about zodiac sign “qualities?”

Every sign is influenced by one of three qualities: Cardinal, Fixed or Mutable. You can get your Essential Birth Chart report to learn more about how the qualities effect you personally. Each of the qualities is defined by a point within each season: Cardinal signs begin a new season, Fixed signs carry the weight of the season, and Mutable signs conclude the season.

Take fall, for example. Fall Equinox falls on September 22, the same day the Sun enters Libra. Because Libra kicks off the fall season, that makes Libra a Cardinal sign. Scorpio takes over in the midst of fall, making it a Fixed sign. And the season concludes with the Sun in Sagittarius, making that a Mutable sign.

Get it? Astrology is all about nuance, so to truly understand a zodiac sign you must explore the quality each is associated with. So now that you understand how the qualities are structured, let’s take a look at each of the three Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable qualities, what they mean and how they shape your personality.

Cardinal signs

There are four Cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Because these signs each start a new season, the quality of their energy is full of initiative. Cardinal signs are impulsive and dynamic, and they push strongly to start new things. In general, people with Cardinal signs in their birth charts generate more new ideas and projects, while those lacking Cardinal energy are more passive.

Fixed signs

There are four Fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. These signs carry the weight of each season, which gives them a sturdy quality. Fixed signs are capable of great endurance, and generally people with much Fixed energy in their birth charts are stable and focused, whereas those lacking Fixed energy may not have much sticktoitiveness or perseverance.

Mutable signs

There are four Mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Because these signs fall at the conclusion of each season, their energy anticipates movement and change. People with Mutable signs in their birth charts tend to be more flexible and adaptable to the changing world around them, while those lacking Mutable energy may be stubborn and inflexible or have a difficult time adjusting to new situations.

How qualities are used

When you’re learning Astrology, you’ll discover that every person has a mix of different zodiac signs, elements and qualities in their birth charts. Once you understand the energy of each quality and combine that information with what you know of each zodiac sign and element, a more complete picture will begin to develop.

For example, the Aries zodiac sign is the element of Fire and the quality is Cardinal. This “Cardinal Fire” combination is very bold, so the more Aries energy a person has in their birth chart, the more brazen they will be. On the other hand, Taurus is an Earth sign with a Fixed quality, so it would be called “Fixed Earth” and its overall energy is very slow and grounded.

Knowing how much of each quality you have in your birth chart is very important. These astrological nuances are what shape us as individuals, so going beyond your Sun sign is key when it comes to understanding Astrology.

Let’s Talk Witch – Keeping Sabbat and Esbat Work Separate

Keeping Sabbat and Esbat Work Separate

Lots of Wiccans allow magical work to creep into their Sabbat rituals. Be careful with this. Sabbats are good for ritual drama and meditation upon the turning of the seasons, and attuning to the energy of the earth as it cycles through its phases. In turn, an esbat is usually reserved for magical work. Spellcasting, scrying, divination, and other related practices come into use during esbats.

An attunement can be done through a symbolic action to reflect the sabbat theme or the season. The line between that symbolic action and magical work blurs if the symbolic action becomes too complex. Think about older sabbat-related symbolic actions. For example, Northern European people used to roll a burning wheel down a steep hill after sunset on Midsummer’s Day. The action reflected in miniature what was going on in the season: the bright, fiery sun had passed its zenith and was beginning to decline, and the days would grow shorter from that point onward. A sabbat is a time to interact with the energy of the changing season.

Confusion can arise from the combination of the idea of a symbolic action and the concept of a spell. A spell has a specific intent in response to a specific need. Components are gathered to lend supportive energy to obtain a goal. The components are activated together with energy raised by the spellcaster, and then released toward the goal. A symbolic action, on the other hand, is performed in sympathy with a greater event. Energy may be raised through the symbolic action, but it is to contribute to the cycle as it shifts, or to enhance the attunement the Wiccan has with the macrocosm. The performance of a sabbat ritual leaves the Wiccan energized and attuned, in harmony with the greater scheme of things. No spell needs to be cast to achieve a goal, for the goal is what the ritual itself already provides. Esbats are where we work for ourselves; in a sabbat ritual, we work for nature and for the Divine.

Seasons of the Witch – Legends and Lore, Ancient Holidays And Some Not So Ancient!

Today Is …

Feast of Salacia, Goddess of Salt Water. If you live near the ocean, go for a swim or put your feet in the water. If not, honor the cleansing and renewal your tears can bring

Rome: Opiconsivia, the feast day honoring Ops Consivia, the Earth Goddess, considered to be the wife of Saturn. Ops was Lady of the Cornucopia, Bounty of the Harvest, and Sustainer of Life. In her honor, the Vestal Virgins opened a special room filled with sacred objects to performed their rites to ensure the fertility of the earth.

Ops or Consivia (the old Italian Goddess of fertility, sowing and reaping) had a special festival, which only the Vestals and the state priest could attend.

Heathen: The end of Odin’s Ordeal (August 17-25). Odin, the Nordic and Germanic all-father, was one of the three original Aesir gods who created the world, and most important of all the Norse Gods. In his quest for knowledge, he hung himself upside down from Yggdrasil, the world tree, for nine days. In commoration of the final day is the Festival of the Discovery of the Runes, when Odin fell “screaming” from the tree on which he had been bound, having gained the knowledge he sought.

Uppsala, Sweden, once observed this festival by sacrificing men and animals and hanging them in trees; devotees were burnt on pyres. Odin’s ordeal of hanging on the tree until his enlightenment bears apparent relation to the stories of both the Buddha and Jesus.

Tuesday’s Witchery

Tuesday is the day to work any magick that falls in the category of increasing strength, courage, bravery, and passion. All of these intense emotions are linked to this day’s energies, and spells designed around these themes will have extra punch when performed on this magickal day.

So, let’s add a little passion and conviction into your life! Break out the daring red pieces of your wardrobe, and put a little pizzazz into your day. Work with Lilith, and see what she has to teach you about personal power and sexuality. Meditate onTiw/Tyr and Mars, and see what those ancient warrior gods will show you about new tactics, strategies, and claiming personal victories in your life. Practice conjuring up that astral weapon from the meditation and use it wisely for protection and for courage.

Create a philter for courage and protection or handcraft your own Witch’s jar to remove negativity from your home. See what other Witch crafts you can conjure up with Tuesday’s magick. Create some kitchen magick on this Tuesday by whipping up a spicy stew-add in a few Mars-associated ingredients such as carrots, peppers, and garlic. Empower the stew for success, and then treat yourself and your family to a good, hearty meal. Try working with a little aromatherapy and burn some spicy or coffee-scented candles to increase your energy level.

Check the sky at night, and see if you can find the reddish planet Mars up in the heavens. Not sure where to look? Check an astronomy magazine or search the Web for more information. Become a magickal warrior and move forward in your life with strength, courage, and compassion. Embrace the side of yourself that loves a good challenge and that is passionate and daring! Banish fear, and face your future with strength and conviction. Believe in yourself and in your dreams, work hard, and you will win every time.

Tuesday

A god, goddess, or planet governs each day of the week. It is usually easy to spot the ruler of the day by its name. The word Tuesday, however, is not so easy, but if we look at the word in Spanish, Martes, we clearly see its connections to Mars.

Because Tuesday revolves around the energy of Mars, Tuesdays are good for business, mechanical things, buying and selling animals, hunting, beginning studies, gardening, sexual activities, and confrontation. This is a day for sex magick, energy, stamina, and health. As in the old saying, Tuesdays child is full of grace, is also good for success magick and defense against enemies.

Angels of Tuesday are Camael, Samael, Satael, Amabiel, Friagne, and Hyniel. When invoked, Camael takes the form of a leopard. In Druid mythology he is a god of war, which is why we see him associated with Mars. Camael is said to be a member of the “Magnificent Seven” in some circles. Camael is another “terminator” angel.

Samael walks both worlds as a magician and sorcerer. some see him as the angel of death, others as “the bright and poisonous one.” Many consider him more of a demon, and accuse him of being Satan. However, there is reference to the satans (plural) as enforcers of the law, a sort of angelic police, if you will. Supposedly, when Samael is around, dogs howl in the night. On one hand, he is the ruler of the fifth heaven and in charge of two million angels; on the other, he is the one who changed into a serpent and convinced Eve to partake of the forbidden fruit of knowledge.

Satael is an angel of air invoked in magic rites and is the presiding spirit of the planet Mars. Amabiel is another spirit of the planet Mars; however he spends his energy on issues of human sexuality. Friagne, also an angel of this day, is invoked from the east. He is a member of the fifth heaven. Hyniel also belongs to this day and is subject to the east wind.

On Tuesdays the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Mars, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest ones to do ritual in. Check your local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.

The Night Belongs to Us

As the world sleeps

We awake

We look toward the moon

She sends her power

Feeling the wind

We gather her strength

Our capes flap in the wind

Wind encircles us

Taking hold of our brooms

Control comes to us

We ride high this night

Our silhouettes against the moon

Ride high my Brothers and Sisters

Wishing All Our Precious Family & Friends A Very Blessed Tuesday Morn’!

We are starting out simple this morning. I would like share this beautiful and oh, so truthful saying that I have read for years on GrannyMoonsMorningFeast . I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Most of all Thank You, Granny Moon for sharing your wisdom with all of us. I, for one, have learned a great deal from you and for that I thank you.

I Come To You This Evening With A Very Sad & Heavy Heart

I received an email from Lady Beltane this evening. It was one that broke my heart and brought me to tears, Lady Beltane’s mother passed this afternoon around 4:00. I do know Lady Beltane and her mother were close. I know this has ripped her heart into. I also know she needs all the love and support we can give her. You never know the right words to say to a person during their time of grief. I really don’t believe there are any words that can take away the sorrow and grief a person feels. All we can do is let her know that we are here for her no matter what she might need. Show her we love her and offer any support we can.

If you have a moment, please say a prayer for Lady Beltane, her mother and her family.
