Your Daily Love Horoscopes for Thursday, March 30th

General

General Horoscope

We may need to recommit to our idealistic goals as the pressure to evolve alters our perspectives. A long-lasting Jupiter-Pluto square is exact today, urging us to take a stand on a social issue or backing us into a corner where we need to face a worthy opponent. The unyielding Taurus Moon joins warrior Mars, adding fuel to our feistiness. We know what’s right and have no excuses; we must be firm in our convictions as we speak truth to power.

Aries

Aries Horoscope MAR 21 – APR 19

Striving to earn your keep makes you feel good about yourself today, but your work ethic can turn into a power trip if you don’t maintain a humble perspective. Although an obstinate Moon-Mars conjunction in your 2nd House of Self-Worth bulks up your ego, someone you respect may call out your authoritarian attitude. Your ambitions often pull you away from meaningful relationships, but no amount of professional achievement will replace the emotional growth you can experience by sharing your success with those you love.

Taurus

Taurus Horoscope APR 20 – MAY 20

While adaptability is often a useful trait, your infamous stubbornness could prove to be an even more valuable asset today. You’re no stranger to sticking to your word, but if your list of rules is more like a restrictive belief system, it may be adversely affecting your health now. Consider ditching your devotion to a paradigm and putting your own personal wellbeing back at the top of your list.

Gemini

Gemini Horoscope MAY 21 – JUN 20

You’re the happiest when you are free to flit from one activity to another, gathering experiences at your fancy. You can imagine all sorts of things you would love to put your heart into while the leisurely Taurus Moon plods through your 12th House of Fantasy. But sometimes you secretly doubt if any of your creative efforts make a difference. Your homework is to find ways to allow your authentic self to blossom without restraint. The only feeling stronger than the fear of failure is fear of success.

Cancer

Cancer Horoscope JUN 21 – JUL 22

You covet quality time spent with your circle of friends today because you could use some steady support. You may be grappling with a relationship issue now, and as much as you try to envision living up to what seems like a demanding standard, you’re not sure if it’s possible. However, leaning on your buddies for encouragement can help remind you of your emotional resilience. Remembering who you really are renews your faith in yourself.

Leo

Leo Horoscope JUL 23 – AUG 22

You may wonder why the actions that once earned you recognition from your peers seem to no longer have the same effect. You’re called to recognize how much you’ve grown beyond your old patterns when expansive Jupiter clashes with powerhouse Pluto in your 6th House of Routine. Small changes in your daily habits can add up to big rewards as long as you remain open-minded. Author Bernie Siegel wrote, “Embrace each challenge in your life as an opportunity for self-transformation.”

Virgo

Virgo Horoscope AUG 23 – SEP 22

You can’t help but feel a twinge of longing when you dream about your future prospects. Unfortunately, you may not think you have the right stuff to make your vision a reality. However, the dynamic Jupiter-Pluto square encourages you to believe in your abilities, even when your goals seem unreachable. Creatively reframing how you see yourself in a larger context will help you focus on the journey of becoming rather than the distance between you and your ideal destination. You can be both a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time.

Libra

Libra Horoscope SEP 23 – OCT 22

It’s not easy to understand your feelings today and you may choose to ignore them instead. However, you could just be creating a pit of emotional quicksand by struggling to keep your worries at arm’s length. Stop resisting the inevitable and face your demons so limiting beliefs won’t have the same hold they once did. Identifying the root of your fears takes away their power. Follow Eleanor Roosevelt’s advice, “Do one thing every day that scares you.”

Scorpio

Scorpio Horoscope OCT 23 – NOV 21

You might end up in a heated exchange with someone close to you today. You don’t want to back down when you know you’re in the right, but chances are the other person is just as adamant as you are now. If you take the low road, you’re bound to wind up regretting your journey. Instead, loosen your grip and pursue the moral high ground, even if you feel like you’re missing out on a good argument. Some people create their own storms, and then get upset when it rains.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius Horoscope NOV 22 – DEC 21

Your obligations weigh you down now when you would rather be fighting the good fight for a conviction that really matters. However, there’s more to participating in a social cause than your public persona. Developing your own sense of moral integrity and personal responsibility is just as important as being on the front lines. Growing into your highest potential enables you to be a powerful warrior for your beliefs.

Capricorn

Capricorn Horoscope DEC 22 – JAN 19

You’re known for your resilience, and you’re apt to put it to the test today just to see how far you can go. But you may not realize that what seems like a healthy ambition to you may be perceived as overly aggressive by others. Your obstinacy can be a blessing in disguise, but you could benefit from taking a more generous approach when it comes to relationships. Although your determination earns you respect, graciousness earns you the admiration you seek.

Aquarius

Aquarius Horoscope JAN 20 – FEB 18

It could seem like there are invisible boundaries in place that confine you to a certain path now, even when you do your best to abolish ignorance at every turn. Your love of learning is no secret, but when high-minded Jupiter in your 9th House of Philosophy argues with shadowy Pluto, there are some factors that are beyond cognitive understanding. Although this may be mildly infuriating for an intellectual type, the sooner you can embrace life’s mysteries, the more you will be at peace. Picasso said, “The hidden harmony is better than the obvious.”

Pisces

Pisces Horoscope FEB 19 – MAR 20

There are few greater joys than being fully recognized by someone you love. However, conveying your intentions isn’t always that easy and you could feel like you don’t have what it takes to make someone happy today. However, the emotional dynamics are too complicated for any one person to accept the blame. Although it’s wise to consider your role in the larger picture, there is much nuance when it comes to intimate relationships. Take responsibility for your own emotional state before expending energy trying to change anyone else’s.

Astrology of Today – Thursday, March 30, 2017

Astrology of Today – Thursday, March 30, 2017

  • The Moon is in Taurus.
  • The Moon is void from 7:11 PM forward (until tomorrow at 12:40 PM).
  • The Moon is waxing and in its New phase.
  • The New Moon occurred on the 28th and the First Quarter Moon will occur on April 3rd.
  • Venus is retrograde (Venus is retrograde from March 4-April 15).

Venus & Jupiter Retrograde

Venus & Jupiter Retrograde

Relationship Rectification

April 2017 sees an increase in retrograde activity, with roughly half of the month (9th – 15th April & 20th April – 3rd May) featuring four retrogrades. This is something we’ve not seen since September 2016 and is a celestial pattern which invites us to retreat, revisit and reflect.

The month begins with Venus retrograde in Aries (since 4th March) and Jupiter still retrograde in Libra (since 6th Feb). Relationships are an on-going focus, including those with the wider world which may demand bold compassion in defiance of the egoic mind that divides into friend and foe. As Venus retrogrades into Pisces on 3rd April, personal need is eclipsed by the dissolution of boundaries that separate me from you and them from us. Many current challenges demand that we find new and creative ways to live in a world that threatens to split into warring factions at the drop of a hat. Venus invites us to soften around the edges of individuality and separation, to embrace our own divinity and prepare to use it as a balm upon the world once she turns direct on 15th April. Only through right-relationship with oneself can we forge constructive connections with others, providing all parties a voice whilst allowing for nuances of difference and self-determination. If we continue reacting rather than reflecting and defending rather than responding, we remain in the mind-set of ‘me against the world’, further cementing the tyranny of ego over essence.

Jupiter retrograde reminds us no external voyage of discovery – no matter how enlightening – can match the wisdom won when we journey to our centre to discover who we are. If we cannot know ourselves in the deepest sense there is no one else who will solve our problems or heal our wounds. The usual enthusiasm and outward thrust of Jupiterian energy is turned inward now and we may find certain projects and plans, especially those intimately bound up with other people, have slowed in recent weeks. If so, Jupiter has applied the brakes to encourage reflection on our motivation and the values that underpin our goals.

In Libra, Jupiter asks why we connect with the people we do, what we bring to our relationships and the expectations we place upon others. This self-enquiry may be uncomfortable at times, for whilst awakening is intrinsic to our nature, it is not just a beautiful grace. It also holds us accountable and requires an inner quest which strips away the pretence of false selves to reveal the sacred core shared by all. Nothing but truth survives its challenge and with the retrograde trend building as April progresses, we must be prepared to place everything on its sacrificial altar, with no holding back to avoid the demands of the Real.

Calendar of the Sun

Aequinoctium Vernum

Colors: Yellow and light green
Element: Earth
Altar: Upon cloth of yellow and light green set a pitcher of rainwater, small dishes of seeds (as many as there are people), a vase of budding branches, and a single green candle.
Offerings: Seeds to be planted in the garden.
Daily Meal: Vegetarian

Aequinoctium Vernum Invocation

Earth, you begin your awakening
To the touch of the life-giving Sun
Whose rays stroke you like a lover.
Earth, your joy in awakening
Springs forth first golden
And then the green of life.
We awaken to your new life
And your new season,
And you help us to believe
That no matter how long the winter,
Spring will always come again.
We stand in the time of the year’s morning
And, like all living things,
We reach upwards for the sky.

Chant:
We open Earth and
Earth receives you
She gives you life and
We believe in you

(Each takes a pot of seeds and goes to the garden, and hoes or otherwise prepares a space for planting, and then plants their seeds, chanting while doing so. The pitcher of rainwater is carried out and ritually poured onto the seeds.)

Celtic Promise
Today, March 30th, We Celebrate

Festival of Moon (Rome)
IUNA

Themes: All Lunar Attributes–Instinct; Creativity; Luck; Femininity; Water Element; Miracles (on a Blue Moon) — also Safety in Travel

Symbols: Silver or white Items; Water; Moon Images; the Number Thirteen

About Luna: The Roman goddess personifying the moon, Luna had the additional unique quality of being a protectress of chrioteers, which in modern time could make her a patroness of automobiles!

While March came in like a lion, Luna escorts it out lambishly, with her soft, shimmering light. She is the full moon, which symbolizes the growing awareness developed this month, the fullness of loving emotions, and charms and enchantments empowered by the silvery light of the moon.
To Do Today: Go moon gazing. To encourage any Luna’s attributes, recite this invocation to the moon:

Moon, moon, Lady Moon, shine your light on me
Moon, moon, Lady Moon, bring ___________to me.

Fill in the blank with your heart’s desire. If possible, gear your request to match the energy in today’s moon phase. A Waxing moon augments spells for any type of growth or development. A full moon emphasizes maturity, fertility, abundance, and “ful”-fillment. Waning moons help banish unwanted characteristics or shrink problems, and dark moons emphasize rest and introspection.

Find The Beauty You Carry Inside

Thursday, March 30

Thursday is the day of the planet Jupiter, dedicated to Thunor(Thor), God of thunder and agricultural work. His parallels in various European traditions are Zeus, Taranis, Perun, Perkunas and St. Olaf. The faith of the Northern Tradition holds Thursday sacred, just as Islam reveres Friday, Judaism the Sabbath(calculated from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday), and Christianity, Sunday. This is why almost all adages about Thursday are positive, such as “Thursday’s child has far to go,” “Sneeze on Thursday, something better,” or “Cut nails on Thursday for wealth.” Thursday rules controlled optimism, energetic growth, physical well-being and material success.

The Sky This Week for March 30 to April 2

Celtic~P.S. I love youThe Sky This Week for March 30 to April 2

Sirus shines magnitude -1.5, a “young Moon,” and other bright things to look for in the sky this week.
By Richard Talcott

Thursday, March 30

The waxing crescent Moon climbs significantly higher in the evening sky with each passing day, and tonight it serves as a guide to ruddy Mars. The planet stands about 7° (approximately one binocular field) to the Moon’s lower right. The pair appears nearly 20° high in the west once twilight fades to darkness and doesn’t set until after 10 p.m. local daylight time. The Red Planet shines at magnitude 1.5 among the background stars of Aries the Ram.

The Moon reaches perigee, the closest point in its orbit around Earth, at 8:32 a.m. EDT. It then lies 226,088 miles (363,853 kilometers) away from us.

Friday, March 31

This evening, the waxing Moon sits on the western edge of the Hyades star cluster in Taurus the Bull. The 20-percent-lit crescent lies below and a little to the right of 1st-magnitude Aldebaran, the orange sun that marks the upper left corner of the V-shaped Hyades. In reality, however, the star is a foreground object that only appears along the same line of sight as the cluster.

Saturday, April 1

Mercury reaches greatest elongation at 6 a.m. EDT, and tonight marks the peak of its best evening apparition of 2017. The innermost planet lies 19° east of the Sun and stands 9° high in the western sky 45 minutes after sunset. It shines at magnitude –0.2 and shows up easily against the darkening sky. If you can’t spy Mercury right away, sweep the area with binoculars. A view of the inner world through a telescope reveals an 8″-diameter disk that appears 39 percent lit.

Sunday, April 2

After passing between the Sun and Earth just eight days ago, Venus already appears conspicuous in the predawn sky. It rises an hour before the Sun and climbs 6° above the eastern horizon 30 minutes later. The planet shines so brightly, at magnitude –4.2, that it shows up easily in the brightening twilight. A telescope will deliver spectacular views of the inner world’s 57″-diameter disk, which appears just 3 percent lit.

Wishing All Our Dear Brothers & Sisters of the Craft A Very Beautiful & Blessed Thursday!

celtic doves2The Cauldron Chant

We form the Circle,
The Circle most round.
We form the Chalice,
The Chalice now found.

We call the Goddess,
to meet the great need.
We call the God,
To plant His fertile seed.

We call the quarters,
which we call four.
We summon the powers,
that contain the force.

We stir the Cauldron,
from which we were born.
We call the Gods,
from whom we were torn.

We say the words,
which lead us round.
We pass the kiss,
with our lovers found.

We face our dreams,
in nights psychic flight.
We face our hopes,
in bright moon of the night.

We face our fears,
on the Dark Lords Horn.
We face our failure,
in the Mothers new planted corn.

We live our lives,
druming and dancing on the meadow.
We confront our Death,
in the dancing moon light shadow.

Our paths run quickly,
on fleet foot and wing.
Our Circle is joyous,
with our Queens and our Kings.

Let our little Circle be happy,
with Bell, Bowl or Bow.
And form now this Circle,
with gracious Love, Joy and Hope.

Excerpt: ‘Secret Louisville: The Witches’ Tree’
By STAFF |
This is the second in a series of five excerpts from Insider Louisville contributor and author Kevin Gibson’s new book, “Secret Louisville: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure,” to be published by Reedy Press this month.

Did witches of long ago place a curse on this gnarled tree?

This unique-looking maple tree at the corner of Sixth Street and Park Avenue is startling to look at no matter how it came to be so gnarled and grotesque. But the back story is even weirder than the tree itself.

As the story goes, during the late nineteenth century a coven of witches would gather there to perform ceremonies, until a city planning committee decided to cut the tree down for a May Day celebration, angering the witches and prompting them to cast a curse.

Less than a year later—actually, eleven months to the day—the city was hit with a storm so severe that it actually caused locals to fear the witches had called forth a “storm demon” (a phrase which made the local headlines), unleashing damaging storms on the city. During the storm—and this is lore, mind you—lightning struck the stump of the old tree, and a new tree began to grow. A tree that looked like . . . well, just look at that thing.

Whether the legend is true or false, the tree is something to behold, although it’s advisable to be polite and not mess with the offerings. You just never know.

Bind two small gold rings together with a white ribbon. Hold the bound rings in both hands as you chant the following over them:

With body and spirit
As these rings entwine
Unite our souls
Our essence combine.

Place the rings in your pocket or purse. Carry them with you whenever you are with the one you wish to marry.

March 29th

Festival of Inanna/Ishtar (New Year in Mespopotamia)

The most significant rite of the new year was the hieros gamos-the holy marriage between the king, who represented the God Dumuzi, and one of the temple priestess, who represented sented the Goddess Inanna. It was ordained that the King of Summer, no matter what his lineage, must become the husband of the life-giving Goddess of love, Inanna of Uruk. The role of the priestess of Inanna was that of the dominant partner who makes love to the king. The ceremony was called the “fixing of destinies” and determined the prosperity of the New Year. The entire ritual took place in a chapel on the summit of the ziqqurat and was considered essential for the fertility of the land.

The Witches Spell-A-Day for Wednesday, March 29th – A Spring Abundance Spell

A Spring Abundance Spell

Now that trees and shrubs are beginning to show signs of growth, it’s the perfect time to perform this ritual. You’ll need a pliable stem about two to three feet long from a tree or shrub such as a willow or forsythia. Being by weaving the steam into a small wreath. As you weave, say:

The winds of winter are a thing of the past
Spring, I welcome you at last.
Growth and abundance are draw to me.
Now I’m blessed with prosperity.

As you weave the stem, visualize growth and abundance being bound to you. When you’re done, hang the wreath on a branch to the tree or shrub from whic it came. Thank the tree or shrub. You’ve created some positive karma, which will increase the flow of abundance coming to you.

Wednesday Is Ruled By Mercury

Wednesday Is Ruled By Mercury

Wednesdays are wild and wacky days. They are for communication, change, cunning, and the arts. This is a Mercury day, and just its patron god this day is full of contradictions, change, and excitement. Some suggestions for Wednesday enchantments would include:

Pulling a little Wednesday color magic into your life by wearing purples or orange

Carrying a multipurpose agate with you and tapping into its various charms

Working with magical plants such as the fern for protection. This plant will also boost the power of any other magical plants with which it is arranged.

Incorporating lavender into charms and spells for transformation

Using the charming scent of lily of the valley to improve your memory, or working with the aspen tree for communication

Calling on Athena, patron of arts and crafts, for inspiration for a new project

Fanning out a Tarot spell to increase you creativity

Calling on Hermes on a Wednesday night to bring movement and good luck into your life
