On Saturday, November 4th, We honor the Goddess Gaia
Gaia
The Greek goddess of the Earth
Gaia’s Appearance: A beautiful and voluptuous woman. Sometimes she is shown as half-buried in the earth.
Symbol or Attributes of Gaia: The earth. Fruits.
Gaia’s Strengths: She is a primal mother goddess, complete in herself.
Gaia’s Weaknesses: She brought forth from her own body Uranus, to be her companion. This turned out to be a mixed blessing.
Gaia’s Parents: None. She is “born” of Chaos, but this not really a birth; as Chaos receded, Gaia came into being.
Gaia’s Spouse: Uranus; then Tartarus, Pontus
Children of Gaia: Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, the Titans Hyperion and Iapetus, Theia, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, Tethys, Cronus or Kronos, and the Python of Delphi, among hundreds of others.
Some Major Temple Sites of Gaia: She was usually worshiped in the open or in caves. Delphi was probably one of her main sites in very early times.
Gaia’s Basic Story: Gaia was the first deity, from whom all others sprang. But Uranus, her first creation, was lusty and cruel to Gaia. Gaia persuaded her other children to help her subdue their father. Cronus, her son, took a flint sickle and castrated his father, throwing his severed organs into the great sea. The goddess Aphrodite was then born of the mixing of the blood and foam. Gaia went on to have children with other mates.
Frequent Misspellings and Alternate Spellings: Gaea, Gaya, Ge, Gea. The goddess Rhea is sometimes considered to be similar to or another form of Gaea.
Interesting Facts about Gaia:The Greeks believed that an oath sworn by Gaia was the strongest, since no one could escape from the Earth herself.
In modern times, some earth scientists use the term “Gaia” to mean the complete living planet itself, as a complex organism.

The Magickal Day of Saturday
It’s the end of the week for many of us, so Saturday – named for the god Saturn – is a good time to wrap things up. Associated with the colors black and dark purple, and the metal lead, this day is also connected to the goddess Hecate. Gemstones like Apache tear, obsidian, and hematite are all connected to Saturday’s magic, as are plants such as thyme, mullein, and the cypress tree.
When it comes to magical workings, focus on agriculture and creativity, fortune and hope, protection and banishment of negativity. Put up a barrier to keep the unwelcome out, eliminate the things that make you miserable, and wash your hands of anything other than your hopes, dreams and goals.

The Witches Guide to Saturday
The planetary correspondence for Saturday is Saturn. Matters dealing with the public, farming, family ties, legal matters (such as wills and estates), taking care of debts, dealing with lawyers, financing, joint money matters, real estate, older people, banishing or binding negativity, and getting rid of bad habits all fall under the charge of Saturn. It’s easy to see why “Saturday’s child works hard for his living.”
Saturday’s angels are Cassiel, Machatan, Uriel, and Orifiel. Cassiel is the angel of solitudes and tears. He is one of the rulers of the planet Saturn and occasionally appears as the angel of patience. Cassiel links himself to dragon energy. Regarding Machatan, the only information we get is that he works well with Cassiel and is also a power of Saturn. Orifiel is an angel of the wilderness, a ruler of the second hour of the day, and also associated with Saturn.
On Saturday, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Saturn, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest four hours for conducting ritual. Check the local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.

Saturday’s Witchery
Saturday is a day filled with opportunities to clean up and clear out. So if you are wondering why Hecate is assigned to this day, take another look at what she symbolizes and the magick that is associated with her. That should answer the question.
Hecate was the oldest form of the Greek Triple Goddess, as she presided over heaven, the underworld, and earth. Crossroads where three roads met were especially sacred to Hecate, earning her the title of Hekate of the Three Ways. It’s interesting to note that even after the worship of other goddesses waned, ancient people still worshiped Hecate as the Queen of the Underworld and the Guardian of the Three-Way Crossroad. It was also believed that if you left her an offering of food there, she would grant you her favors. As Hecate Trivia, her triple images were often displayed at these crossroads, where she was petitioned on the full moon for positive magick and on the dark of the moon for cursing and dark magick.
While this last bit of information sounds a little ominous, keep in mind that Hecate/Hekate was known by many titles and is a shapeshifter. Her appearance could and did change often. As a dark moon goddess, her faces are many. To some she may appear as a old crone, hunched over a smoking cauldron and draped in a midnight cape. To others she may appear as a dark beautiful, mysterious, and mature woman wearing a shimmering crown. To some she may be perceived as a maiden priestess. She was called the “most lovely one,” the Great Goddess of Nature, and the Queen of the World of Spirits. This dark goddess knows her way around the earth and the underworld. All the powers of nature, life, and death are at her command.

About the Full Moon
The Full Moon is ruled by the Mother Goddess, and contrary to popular belief, Her energy isn’t necessarily just a one-day affair. In fact, many practitioners consider it to be full (and use its energy as such) for one day before the calendar date and one day after. This is really good news magically for a couple of reasons. For one thing, the Full Moon can be used for any effort at all, but more importantly, the Moon’s energy peaks during this time. This means that any effort performed during the Full Moon is not only charged to the max, but packs a cosmic wallop when released into the Universe. Because of this, most practitioners save this phase for handling difficult or complicated matters, or for efforts that require an extra boost.
What about the debates on the phases of the Dark and Waxing Moons? Who’s right? Who’s wrong? More specifically though, how should practitioners handle the Moon phases in order to achieve the best magical success?
The fact of the matter is, like magic itself, there is no right or wrong. How you handle the energies of these Moon phases and apply their powers is your decision alone. Just remember that magic is designed to make your life easier, not the other way around, so do whatever feels right for you and let it go at that. Remember that you are the magician, the matrix from which all magic flows, and as such, you are at the controls.

The Witches Magick for the Full/Waxing Moon
Witches’ Ladder for General Good Fortune
Materials 1 yard each red, white, and black 1⁄4-inch ribbon
9 bird feathers of different colors
1 orange candle
Quick-drying glue (optional)
Braid the ribbons together and knot both ends, then attach the feathers by knotting them at equal intervals in the braid, adding a drop of glue to secure them if you wish. Enchant each feather with a particular characteristic as you knot it. While attaching a green feather, for example, you might spell it for prosperity by saying something like:
Financial gain now comes to me
As I will, so mote it be
On the other hand, a blue feather might be enchanted for peace and tranquility by saying something like:
Blue of tranquility, bring me peace
By this knot, all stresses cease
You get the idea.
Once all the feathers are attached, tie the ends of the braid in a bow. Light the candle, place the feathers in front of it, and say something like:
Feathered circlet, braid of three
Bring good fortune unto me
I conjure you unto this task
Work now, ring— do as I ask
Leave the circlet in front of the candle until the wick burns out, then hang it in an inconspicuous spot in your home.

Saturn lends its energies to the last day of the week. Because Saturn is the planet of karma, this day is an excellent time for spellwork involving reincarnation, karmic lessons, the Mysteries, wisdom, and long-term projects.
It is also a good time to being efforts that deal with the elderly, death, or the eradication of pests and disease.
Saturday Is Ruled By Saturn
This day of the week got it’s name from the god of karma and time, Saturn. This day is obviously associated with the planet Saturn and is our last day of the week. Traditionally Saturdays are great days for protection, banishing a negative situation, and generally a good time to clean up any magical messes that you have been ignoring. Some suggestions for Saturday enchantments would include:
◦Wearing the colors of the day, black and deep purple. Here’s your perfect excuse to be dramatic and witchy. Empower these dramatic pieces of your wardrobe for protection and strength.
◦Burning black candles to absorb negativity and burning purple ones to increase your magical wisdom and boost your spirituality
◦Adding a touch of garden witchery to your Saturday spells by working with the pansy (in black or purple of course), the morning glory flowering vine, or the cypress tree.
◦Carrying an obsidian, hematite, or jet tumbled stone in your pocket to reinforce your personal protection and to ward off bad vibes and sour feelings. You can also add these crystals to a candle spell on a Saturday night to really increase the punch of your spellcasting.
◦Cleaning your house and cleansing it while you are at it. Tap into those obstacle-removing vibes and the positive, concluding energies.
◦Closing up the final day of the bewitching week with a bang by calling on Hecate for protection and guidance.

Let’s Talk Witch – Magical Banishing Spells
In many traditions of Paganism, banishing is done to get rid of negative or unwanted energy, or even people who may be causing problems in our lives. While some traditions frown upon banishing as manipulative magic, on the theory that it impacts the free will of another, if your tradition has no prohibitions against such things, then there’s no reason you can’t do a banishing spell.
There are a number of different methods to accomplishing a successful banishing. Which one you choose will vary, depending on how comfortable you are with the different techniques, and what you’re trying to achieve.
Disclaimer: The spells contained here are collected from years of personal experience, folk magic traditions, and various occult sources as noted. They are posted with the intention of being helpful to those who are looking for spell resources, and may need to be adjusted to fit your individual need. Please bear in mind that if your particular belief system prohibits you from casting certain types of spells, you should probably not do so—however, it’s important to recognize that not all magical traditions follow the same set of guidelines when it comes to spellwork.
If you’re here on this page, chances are good you’ve already read about the basics of banishing and getting unwanted metaphysical entities out of your life. However, sometimes, we have actual people in our lives that cause problems, and this is where a banishing spell comes in handy. There are a number of different methods you can try – just make sure that the one you use doesn’t violate any of your own personal moral or ethical guidelines.
Giving Orders
If you’re trying to get rid of an unwanted spirit, one of the most effective methods is to simply give it its marching orders. Be firm and blunt, and say something along the lines of, “This is not the place for you, and it’s time for you to leave.” You may wish to offer a blessing or well-wishes if it makes you feel better about things, and say, “It is time for you to move on, and we wish you the best in your new place.” Frequently, this will do the trick and eliminate whatever problems you may have been having.
Elemental Banishing
A popular method of banishing is the use of the various elements, such as fire or water. Fire can be used as a method of purification and cleansing, by way of destruction. Water is used in a number of religions for a variety of purposes, including banishing. You can make your own consecrated water for use in rituals.
Salt is also a great tool for banishing. In some magical traditions, it represents earth, and has been used for centuries to get rid of negative energy. In some folk magic traditions, black salt – a blend of sea salt and another item such as charcoal – is used as a protective barrier.
Use fire to burn a symbol of whatever it is you wish to be rid of, or earth to bury it.
Ritual and Spellwork
In some circumstances, banishing may involve more than simply sprinkling some salt and telling someone (or something) to go away. If you have a person, for instance, who is harassing you, it may be time to do a full fledged banishing ritual. A banishing ritual usually includes a combination of the following:
The name of the person you wish to banish from your life
A specific and active description of what you intend to happen. For instance, “Make Susan a better person” is rather vague and passive – instead, try “Susan will stop harassing me at work.”
A magical link, or taglock, connected to the person you wish to banish
A great deal of magic relies on symbolism, so use this to your advantage in a banishing. You can freeze someone’s behavior by magically binding them, or even reflect the negative behavior back at them. A couple of simple methods include:
A basic binding which metaphysically ties the hands of the individual. Try the tongue-binding spell if you’re dealing with someone who is spreading nasty rumors about you.
Use a box with mirrors inside it to reflect negativity back to the individual who is harassing you.
You can create a banishing spell using the basic Spell Creation Template, and perform it as necessary. Feel free to make your banishing ritual or spell as over-the-top and extreme as you wish – getting rid of someone who is causing you pain or heartache is a pretty significant thing, so unleash as much magical mojo as you feel you need!
Banishing Folklore
To Make Someone Leave You Alone
This one comes in handy when you’ve got someone in your life that you can’t avoid—a co-worker or classmate—but you’re tired of being harassed by them. They’ll still be around, but they’ll stop bothering you.
Write the individual’s name on a piece of paper. Burn the paper around the edges using a black candle (black is associated with banishing magic), and as you do so, let them know that you are burning away whatever feelings (animosity, lust, jealousy, whatever) they may have towards you. Burn as much of the paper as you can, until all that’s left is their name.
Take the last bit of paper to the place where you normally see them— work or school or wherever—and dig a hole and bury it. You can also tear the paper into tiny pieces, and blow it away or scatter it to the winds.
Another option? Use the Chill Out spell, to get the person to chill out and move on.
How about some balloon banishing? Write the person’s name on a small piece of paper, and insert it into a balloon. Fill the balloon with helium, and then take it far away and release it into the sky.
The Get Out of My Life Poppet
This is a good one to use when you not only want to be left alone, you want the person completely out of your life. Light two black candles (black for banishment!), one on each side of your workspace.
Create a poppet out of whatever material you prefer to use (cloth, clay, wax, etc). As you assemble the poppet, make sure you tell the poppet how much you dislike it, and how your life would be a heck of a lot better if it would get out. Make sure you use a magical link so the poppet knows who it represents.
If you’re in a hurry to get the person out of your life, you can “light a fire under their butt” with the candles (important safety tip here, make sure you only SINGE the bottom of the poppet rather than actually lighting it on fire). Take it to the edge of your town, and bury it outside the city limits… if you make it out of clay you can smash it instead of burying it. Allow the candles to burn down until they are gone.
Four Thieves Banishing Spell
In some Hoodoo and folk magic tradition, an item known as Four Thieves vinegar is used. You’ll need to brew up a batch before you get started. Use the recipe, Four Thieves Vinegar
Use this spell to keep someone bothersome away from you.
Write your target’s name on a piece of paper—some traditions recommend you use brown paper, or parchment. Soak the paper in Four Thieves Vinegar. Fold the piece of paper up as small as you can, and bury in the dirt somewhere. One school of thought is that you should bury it in a pot, preferably under a plant like a cactus, so no one will ever disturb it.

November 4th – Ludi Plebii
Ludi Plebii (Plebian Games) were held from the 4th to the 17th of November to honor Jupiter. The games included chariot racing and entertainment in the Circus Maximus. It is believed that the games were established around 220 B.C. by Gaius Flaminus when he was the censor. The only games that were more important than the Ludi Plebii were the Ludi Romani that were held during September, again in honor of Jupiter.

Magickal Goody for Saturday, November 4th
Make Your Own Four Thieves Vinegar
Four Thieves Vinegar is an ingredient found in many Hoodoo and folk magic spells. The recipe seems to have evolved from Western Europe, around the fifteenth century, and there are many variations on how to make it. The common thread between all the legends is that there was a horrible plague in a village, and the only people who survived were four thieves. Each of them contributed one ingredient to a jar of vinegar and garlic, they drank it, and somehow survived the plague unscathed.
Since they were healthy and everyone else was dying, the four thieves went around the town and robbed the empty houses. Eventually they were caught, and sentenced to hanging, but they were able to escape the gallows by sharing their secret formula. Whether this is true or not is anyone’s guess, but Four Thieves Vinegar is a useful item to keep on hand because it can be used in a wide variety of spells, from healing to protection to banishing.
Author and educator Jessie Hawkins says, “While the legend changes as much as the formula for this historic blend, the gist of the story is this: During the plagues (enter your favorite plague here, the Black Plague is most common, but the tale has even made its way to America, as a plague that struck New Orleans), a group of four brothers began robbing the dead. At first, they were largely ignored, as everyone knew they would eventually pay the price by catching the plague themselves but, to everyone’s surprise, they managed to avoid catching the plague and continued robbing graves, amassing a great deal of wealth.” She goes on to say that, as is common in the different versions of the tale, it was the four men’s knowledge of herbal remedies that kept them alive a time of pestilence. She adds that the blend has other names, including Thieves Blend, Legend of the Thieves Blend, and Grave Robbers Blend.
How to Make Four Thieves Vinegar
First, find the best vinegar you can get. Apple cider vinegar is good, red wine vinegar is popular too. Peel and mince four garlic cloves and add them to the vinegar, in a jar with a lid.
Traditionally, each thief contributed a single ingredient – choose any four of the following: black or red pepper, cayenne or chili pepper, lavender, rue, rosemary, mint, sage, wormwood, thyme, or coriander. Add these to the jar.
Allow the mixture to sit for four full days – some people recommend placing it in the sun, others in a dark cabinet. Either way, be sure to shake it once a day. After the fourth day, use it in spellwork.
How to Use Four Thieves Vinegar
Here are some ways you can use Four Thieves Vinegar in a magical working:
Banishing: Use this spell to keep someone bothersome away from you. Write your target’s name on a piece of paper – some traditions recommend you use brown paper, or parchment. Soak the paper in Four Thieves Vinegar. Fold the piece of paper up as small as you can, and bury in the dirt somewhere.
Protection: Use Four Thieves Vinegar to prevent magical attack, as well as to protect your property. Sprinkle it liberally around the perimeter of your property, and keep intruders away.
Ending a Relationship: In some Hoodoo traditions, there are a variety of spells that use Four Thieves Vinegar to break up a couple, or to cause strife in a relationship.
Healing: This is a great ingredient to use in a healing ritual – after all, look at the history behind it! Use it to anoint a poppet of a sick person, or dab it on the walls and floor of the room where the ill individual lies. Believe it or not, it can even be consumed internally as a tonic to keep disease away.

Your Astrology for Saturday, November 4th
The Moon is in Taurus.
The Moon is waxing and in its Waxing Gibbous phase until 1:22 AM, after which the Moon is waning and in its Full phase.
The Full Moon occurs today in the sign of Taurus at 1:22 AM.
Moon in Taurus
The Moon is traveling through comfy Taurus today. Eat something you love. Have a second serving.
We are motivated by the desire for serenity, security, peace, and comfort. The Moon is at her most sensual and constant in Taurus. Our basic impulses are to relax, resist change, and “stop to smell the roses”. Life slows down a little, and we get comfortable. We may also be inclined to stubbornness and materialism under this influence.
The Moon in Taurus generally favors the following activities: Substantial and material actions that yield solid results. Financial activities, and those involving personal possessions, applying for a loan, beginning a potentially long-term relationship, music, home decor.

Overview of Your Astronomy for Saturday, November 4th
Early today, a Full Moon occurs in the sign of Taurus as the Moon opposes the Scorpio Sun. This lunation is particularly close to the earth such that we may feel its themes a little more strongly, and it occurs at approximately the same time as a Venus-Uranus opposition.
Full Moons always pit opposite signs of the zodiac against each other but also invite us to work to achieve a balance between the opposing energies. The contrast between earthy, practical, peace-loving Taurus and emotional, transformative, crisis-oriented Scorpio comes full bloom now. This is a passionate and creative Full Moon, ripe with possibilities and learning experiences. Intimate relationship matters, such as personal comfort levels, sexuality, and values, figure prominently now. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. We need to awaken to a new way of doing things and enjoying ourselves.
The Full Moon itself connects with Jupiter and harmonizes with Neptune, as both bodies get closer and closer to an exact trine, emphasizing the fertility, imagination, and magic of our realizations and epiphanies.
While there can be a tug of war between closeness and independence now, we might find discover ways to interact while honoring both needs. Venus forms a sesquiquadrate with Neptune this afternoon, and we’re inclined to see one another through the lens of wishful thinking. The Moon spends the day in the sign of Taurus.

The Moon Diary for Saturday, November 4th
Jane Lyle, Astrologer
From The Astrology Room
Here’s an intensely sensuous, musical full Moon. It overflows with dreams and visions – bringing up beautiful fantasies of rural bliss, ocean voyages, idealistic love, and unfocused sensitivity.
Everything fluctuates as November’s earthy Moon in Taurus and Sun in Scorpio connect with imaginative Neptune in Pisces at 11 degrees.
Both Pisces and Taurus are closely associated with music and the arts, so this full Moon could be the perfect time to make music, sing in the bath, or simply listen. Our five senses are heightened, our appetite for true love and pleasure enhanced. At the same time, Neptune confuses and dissolves that Taurean practicality, making it difficult to maintain boundaries in personal relationships and professional alliances. It’s a bit of a mud bath with added psychic awareness, and chocolate cake.
As ever with Neptune, intuitive and visionary paths tend to be more fruitful than materialistic ambitions. Empathy works well, but down-to-earth common sense struggles to be heard. Tuning in to others brings a sense of closeness, and dreams about soul-mates and karmic connections surface. However, the glamour of Neptune always casts a spell – so tread carefully when it comes to cash, commitment, and trust.
Similarly, Neptune with the Moon can mean increased sensitivity to drugs – medical and otherwise, allergies, alcohol, delusions and scandals.
This is one of a series of full Moons at 11 degrees, each linked with Neptune. Each has a slightly different emphasis, but all of them bring added potential for confusion and some yearning for a more beautiful, and kinder, experience of the world.
Each of these full Moons sensitises warrior Mars at 11 degrees Taurus in the UK’s national horoscope – 1st January, 1801.
Watch out for an increase in arguments as public debate and the feelings of crowds surge and peak around each Moon. Since this full Moon is exactly aligned with UK’s Mars, we may see the strongest manifestation in the UK this November. Finances, alliances, security and legacies are all swimming into focus, as is important news about women, and prominent women in particular.
Neptune also rules oil, chemicals, drugs, spies, con-men, fakes, and activities that create illusions such as photography, and the film industry. We’re likely to see more news than usual relating to some (or all) of these things.
Our bewitching, bewildering Neptunian full Moons crash upon the shores of reality. Here they are:
4th November 2017: Full Moon in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces.
3rd December 2017: Full Moon in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces – tricky, slippery words and mesmerising poetry.
2nd January 2018: Full Moon in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces – oceanic emotions, deeds, and events are in store.
There is no full Moon in February 2018.
2nd March 2018: Full Moon in Virgo opposition Neptune in Pisces – a see-saw, with connections to health news, drugs, and health professionals.

When that happened we lost all of our material for the rest of the day. You see none of us believe in saving anything just in case the power does go out. You would think by now, we would have learned but we haven’t. So we are going to up-date the site for a bit and then call it a day.
I am going to start to tying strings around all of our fingers so we will remember to save material. But anyway, have a better Thursday than we are having. Till tomorrow…

Welcome to the Witches Digest for Tuesday, November 2nd
(The Witches Guide to Thursday)
Today is Thursday, November 2nd
Thursday is the day of the planet Jupiter, dedicated to Thunor(Thor), God of thunder and agricultural work. His parallels in various European traditions are Zeus, Taranis, Perun, Perkunas and St. Olaf. The faith of the Northern Tradition holds Thursday sacred, just as Islam reveres Friday, Judaism the Sabbath(calculated from sunset on Friday to sunset on Saturday), and Christianity, Sunday. This is why almost all adages about Thursday are positve, such as “Thursday’s child has far to go,” “Sneeze on Thursday, something better,” or “Cut nails on Thursday for wealth.” Thursday rules controlled optimism, energetic growth, physical well-being and material success.

The Pagan Book of Days for Thursday, November 2nd
All Souls’ Day commemorates departed spirits not elevated to sainthood. Before becming a church festival in 998 C.E., it was marked with celebrations from the dead: parading the Hodening wild horse and other guising including mummers’ plays enacting the mysteries of life, death and rebirth. Ceremonial soulcakes were cooked and eaten on this day.

‘On Thursday, November 2nd, We Honor The God Thor
Thor – Norse Thunder God
Thor is one of the most popular and powerful gods of the major mythologies. He is also part of modern daily life, since the fifth day of the week, Thursday (Thor’s day), is named for him.
Odin is usually given as the father of Thor, a thunder god in Norse mythology. Less controversially, Thor’s mother was a female giant named Jord, according to Motz (see references below).
Thor mated with a giant named Jarnsaxa with whom he had two sons, named Magni and Modi, but his wife is Sif (whose luscious golden hair the trickster god Loki cuts).
Thor’s Herculean Appetite
Thor’s appetites are gigantic. He once drank from a horn that was emptying the water from the ocean. He is described as huge, red-bearded, with burning eyes who could defeat giant or troll in a test of strength. Yet, he was so much smaller than a giant that once he slept in a giant’s glove. Epithets for Thor indicate his giant-defeating prowess. He is similar to the Greek hero Heracles (Hercules) in his feats of strength and giant-killing.
Thor had a famous weapon, his hammer, named Mjolnir, and a belt of strength, named Megingjardir. He had a goat-driven chariot that created the noise of the thunder, according to Davidson, when rolling across the sky. The lightning bolts were caused by the hurling of Mjolnir. Thunderbolts are called Thorsviggar, according to Montelius.
Thor’s home was called Bilskinir, located in Thrudheim or Thrudvangar.
Thor was worshiped especially in Uppsala and Thrandheim.

The Magickal Day of Thursday
Thursday is a day of royal blues and greens, associated with the planet Jupiter and metals like tin. When it comes to deities, look at leader type gods like Thor, Zeus, and Jupiter. Gemstone correspondences for Thursday include turquoise, amethyst and lapis lazuli, and plant associations can be found in honeysuckle, cinquefoil, and even oak trees.
This is a day for honor, fealty and family loyalty, as well as harvesting, success, and prosperity.
Take advantage of Thursday’s different aspects and do spellwork that brings abundance to you, declares your allegiance, and embraces prosperity

The Witches Guide to Thursdays
Today is the day for prosperity work of all kinds. It can also be used for healing work, whether that is a physical healing of an illness or an emotional healing. Also remember that you have to follow up your healing work and prosperity magick and physical action.
I can’t tell you the number of times I have met new witches who complain to me that their prosperity spell or “I need a better job” spell did not work as they expected. They’ll ramble on and on about how much time and money they spent working their magick….but, alas, they had no glorious manifestation of wealth or fabulous job that suddenly dropped out of the sky and landed in their laps.
Then, when I gently ask them, “Did you enchant your resume or application when you filled it out? Did you do a little confidence-boosting spellwork when you went to apply for the job or went to the interview?” typically they give me a blank, confused stare.
Nine times out of ten, their response is, “You mean I have to go out and actually look for the job too?” Um, yes, my dear, you certainly do. Magick follows the path of least resistance, which means it’s going to manifest along the simplest, quickest route. Get out there and hit the pavement. See what you can find. Times are tough and competition for good jobs is fierce, so you need whatever edge you can get. For folks like us, we’re going to get the edge by using our magick and our spellcraft.
Thursdays have such a rich source of magick for us to draw upon that, honestly, the sky is the limit. This is the day associated with the gods of the sky and heavens, after all. Get to know these deities and add their wisdom and magick into your days

Wicca, Witchcraft or Paganism?
As you study and learn more about magical living and modern Paganism, you’re going to see the words witch, Wiccan, and Pagan pretty regularly, but they’re not all the same. As if that wasn’t confusing enough, we often discuss Paganism and Wicca, as if they’re two different things. So what’s the deal? Is there a difference between the three? Quite simply, yes, but it’s not as cut and dried as you might imagine.
Wicca is a tradition of Witchcraft that was brought to the public by Gerald Gardner in the 1950s. There is a great deal of debate among the Pagan community about whether or not Wicca is truly the same form of Witchcraft that the ancients practiced. Regardless, many people use the terms Wicca and Witchcraft interchangeably. Paganism is an umbrella term used to apply to a number of different earth-based faiths. Wicca falls under that heading, although not all Pagans are Wiccan.
So, in a nutshell, here’s what’s going on. All Wiccans are witches, but not all witches are Wiccans. All Wiccans are Pagans, but not all Pagans are Wiccans. Finally, some witches are Pagans, but some are not – and some Pagans practice witchcraft, while others choose not to.
If you’re reading this page, chances are you’re either a Wiccan or Pagan, or you’re someone who’s interested in learning more about the modern Pagan movement.
You may be a parent who’s curious about what your child is reading, or you might be someone who is unsatisfied with the spiritual path you’re on right now. Perhaps you’re seeking something more than what you’ve had in the past. You might be someone who’s practiced Wicca or Paganism for years, and who just wants to learn more.
For many people, the embracing of an earth-based spirituality is a feeling of “coming home”. Often, people say that when they first discovered Wicca, they felt like they finally fit in. For others, it’s a journey TO something new, rather than running away from something else.
Paganism is an Umbrella Term
Please bear in mind that there are dozens of different traditions that fall under the umbrella title of “Paganism”. While one group may have a certain practice, not everyone will follow the same criteria. Statements made on this site referring to Wiccans and Pagans generally refer to MOST Wiccans and Pagans, with the acknowledgement that not all practices are identical.
Not All Pagans are Wiccans
There are many Witches who are not Wiccans. Some are Pagans, but some consider themselves something else entirely.
Just to make sure everyone’s on the same page, let’s clear up one thing right off the bat: not all Pagans are Wiccans. The term “Pagan” (derived from the Latin paganus, which translates roughly to “hick from the sticks”) was originally used to describe people who lived in rural areas. As time progressed and Christianity spread, those same country folk were often the last holdouts clinging to their old religions.
Thus, “Pagan” came to mean people who didn’t worship the god of Abraham.
In the 1950s, Gerald Gardner brought Wicca to the public, and many contemporary Pagans embraced the practice. Although Wicca itself was founded by Gardner, he based it upon old traditions. However, a lot of Witches and Pagans were perfectly happy to continue practicing their own spiritual path without converting to Wicca.
Therefore, “Pagan” is an umbrella term that includes many different spiritual belief systems – Wicca is just one of many.
In Other Words…
Christian > Lutheran or Methodist or Jehovah’s Witness
Pagan > Wiccan or Asatru or Dianic or Eclectic Witchcraft
As if that wasn’t confusing enough, not all people who practice witchcraft are Wiccans, or even Pagans. There are a few witches who embrace the Christian god as well as a Wiccan goddess – the Christian Witch movement is alive and well!
There are also people out there who practice Jewish mysticism, or “Jewitchery”, and atheist witches who practice magic but do not follow a deity.
What About Magic?
There are a number of people who consider themselves Witches, but who are not necessarily Wiccan or even Pagan. Typically, these are people who use the term “eclectic Witch” or to apply to themselves. In many cases, Witchcraft is seen as a skill set in addition to or instead of a religious system. A witch may practice magic in a manner completely separate from their spirituality; in other words, one does not have to interact with the Divine to be a witch.
For others, Witchcraft is considered a religion, in addition to a select group of practices and beliefs. It’s the use of magic and ritual within a spiritual context, a practice that brings us closer to the gods of whatever traditions we may happen to follow. If you want to consider your practice of witchcraft as a religion, you can certainly do so – or if you see your practice of witchcraft as simply a skill set and not a religion, then that’s acceptable too.

What is Paganism?
o you’ve heard a little about Paganism, maybe from a friend or family member, and want to know more. Perhaps you’re someone who thinks Paganism might be right for you, but you’re not quite sure yet. Let’s start by looking at the very first, and most basic question: What is Paganism?
Keep in mind that for the purposes of this article, the answer to that question is based upon modern Pagan practice – we’re not going to go into details on the thousands of pre-Christian societies that existed years ago.
If we focus on what Paganism means today, we can look at several different aspects of the word’s meaning.
In fact, the word “Pagan” actually comes from a Latin root, paganus, which meant “country-dweller,” but not necessarily in a good way – it was often used by patrician Romans to describe someone who was a “hick from the sticks.”
Paganism Today
In general, when we say “Pagan” today, we’re referring to someone who follows a spiritual path that is rooted in nature, the cycles of the season, and astronomical markers. Some people call this “earth-based religion.” Also, many people identify as Pagan because they are polytheists – they honor more than just one god – and not necessarily because their belief system is based upon nature. Many individuals in the Pagan community manage to combine these two aspects. So, in general, it’s safe to say that Paganism, in its modern context, can be defined as an earth-based and often polytheistic religious structure.
Many people are also looking for the answer to the question, “What is Wicca?” Well, Wicca is one of the many thousands of spiritual paths that fall under the heading of Paganism. Not all Pagans are Wiccans, but by definition, with Wicca being an earth-based religion that typically honors both a god and goddess, all Wiccans are Pagans.
Be sure to read more about the Differences Between Paganism, Wicca and Witchcraft.
Other types of Pagans, in addition to Wiccans, include Druids, Asatruar, Kemetic reconstructionists, Celtic Pagans, and more. Each system has its own unique set of beliefs and practice. Keep in mind that one Celtic Pagan may practice in a way that is completely different than another Celtic Pagan, because there is no universal set of guidelines or rules.
The Pagan Community
Some people in the Pagan community practice as part of an established tradition or belief system. Those people are often part of a group, a coven, a kindred, a grove, or whatever else they may choose to call their organization. The majority of modern Pagans, however, practice as solitaries – this means their beliefs and practices are highly individualized, and they typically practice alone. Reasons for this are varied – often, people just find they learn better by themselves, some may decide they don’t like the organized structure of a coven or group, and still others practice as solitaries because it’s the only option available.
In addition to covens and solitaries, there are also significant amounts of people who, while they usually practice as a solitary, may attend public events with local Pagan groups.
It’s not uncommon to see solitary Pagans crawling out of the woodwork at events like Pagan Pride Day, Pagan Unity Festivals, and so on.
The Pagan community is vast and varied, and it’s important – especially for new people – to recognize that there is no one Pagan organization or individual that speaks for the entire population. While groups tend to come and go, with names that imply some sort of unity and general oversight, the fact is that organizing Pagans is a bit like herding cats. It’s impossible to get everyone to agree on everything, because there are so many different sets of beliefs and standards that fall under the umbrella term of Paganism.
Jason Mankey at Patheos writes, “Even if we don’t all interact with each other, we do share a lot with each other globally. Many of us have read the same books, magazines, and online articles.
We share a common language even if we don’t practice the same way or share a tradition. I can easily have a “Pagan conversation” in San Francisco, Melbourne, or London without batting an eye. Many of us have watched the same movies and listened to the same pieces of music; there are some common themes within Paganism worldwide which is why I think there’s a Worldwide Pagan Community (or Greater Pagandom as I like to call it).”
What Do Pagans Believe?
Many Pagans – and certainly, there will be some exceptions – accept the use of magic as part of spiritual growth. Whether that magic is enabled via prayer, spellwork, or ritual, in general there’s an acceptance that magic is a useful skill set to have. Guidelines as far as what is acceptable in magical practice will vary from one tradition to another.
Most Pagans – of all different paths – share a belief in the spirit world, of polarity between the male and female, of the existence of the Divine in some form or other, and in the concept of personal responsibilities.
Finally, you’ll find that most people in the Pagan community are accepting of other religious beliefs, and not just of other Pagan belief systems. Many people who are now Pagan were formerly something else, and nearly all of us have family members who are not Pagan. Pagans, in general, don’t hate Christians or Christianity, and most of us try to show other religions the same level of respect that we want for ourselves and our beliefs.

10 Facts About Paganism and Wicca
There’s a lot of information out there on Paganism, including but not limited to Wicca, in books, on the Internet, and through local groups. But how much of it is accurate? How do you learn to separate the wheat from the chaff? The fact is, there are several basic things you should understand about Wicca and other forms of Paganism before you make the decision to join a new spiritual path. Let’s eliminate some of the misconceptions and talk about actual facts… it will make your spiritual journey all the more valuable if you understand these issues from the beginning.
01
Most Pagan Traditions Have Rules
Sure, a lot of people think that just because there’s no Grand High Pagan Council that there must be all kinds of magical carnage going on. Truth is, there are some fairly standard guidelines followed by a number of different Pagan traditions. While they vary from one group to the next, it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with some of the concepts. Learn more about the rules of magic before you continue your studies.
02
Not All Witches are Pagans are Wiccans
There are dozens of Pagan traditions, and as many different versions of Wicca. Not all are the same, and just because someone is a witch or Pagan doesn’t necessarily mean they practice Wicca. Learn about the differences in paths found among the umbrella term “Paganism.”
03
There’s No Pagan Dress Code
Contrary to what many popular movies might have you believe, you don’t have to be a teenage goth princess to be Pagan or Wiccan. In fact, you don’t “have to be” anything at all. Pagans come from all walks of life — they are parents and teens, lawyers, nurses, firefighters, waitresses, teachers and writers. They come from all different walks of life, all socioeconomic groups, and all sorts of racial backgrounds. There’s no Pagan Dress Code that says you have to toss away your polo shirt or khakis in favor of capes and an all-black wardrobe. On the other hand, if you prefer the goth look, go for it… just remember that goth and Pagan are not synonymous.
04
Religious Freedom Applies to Pagans Too
Believe it or not, as a Pagan you have the same rights as people of any other religion. Despite the fact that some members of other faiths might disapprove of the existence of Wicca and Paganism, the fact is that if you live in the United States, you’re entitled to protection just like anyone else. It’s against the law for anyone to discriminate against you because you practice an earth-based faith. Learn about your rights as a Pagan or Wiccan parent, as an employee, and even as a member of the United States military.
05
It’s Okay to Be Out of the Broom Closet… or Not
Countless numbers of Pagans have made the choice to “come out of the broom closet”… in other words, they’ve stopped hiding their spiritual path from others. For many people, this is a huge decision. You may feel that it’s not in your best interest to make your religious beliefs known, and that’s okay too. If you feel you could be in danger if you reveal that you are Pagan, or that it might put a strain on family relations, going public might be something you should postpone. Get all the pros and cons on coming out of the broom closet.
06
Most Pagans Are Not Satanists
Ask any Pagan about the cornerstone of their faith, and they’ll probably tell you it’s a reverence for their ancestors, a belief in the sacredness of nature, a willingness to embrace the Divine within ourselves, or an acceptance of polarity between the male and female. It may be a combination of those principles. It will not have anything to do with the Satan, Old Scratch, Beelzebub, or any of the other names attributed to the Christian devil. Learn more about how Pagans and Wiccans feel about such an entity.
07
Join a Coven, or Practice Solitary?
You may find that Wicca helps you develop your spiritual self. Image &cyop; Photodisc/Getty; Licensed to About.com
Many Wiccans and Pagans choose to join a coven or study group because it allows them the chance to learn from like-minded people. It’s an opportunity to share ideas and get new perspectives on any number of things. However, for some folks it’s just more practical or desirable to remain as a solitary practitioner. If you’re considering joining a coven, you’ll want to read these tips.
08
Parents and Teens
Nothing will set a teenager at odds with a parent quite like coming into the house wearing a giant pentacle, toting a candle, and yelling, “I’m a witch now, leave me alone!” Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way. Parents, you may have some concerns about Wicca and other forms of Paganism… and teens, you probably aren’t sure how to talk to mom and dad about your new-found interest. Rest easy, though. With a little bit of good communication, both parents and teenagers should be able to find a happy medium.
09
You Don’t Need a Lot of Fancy Tools
Many people think they need to stock up on hundreds of dollars worth of incense, herbs, wands and candles before they can even begin to practice Wicca or Paganism. That’s simply not the case. While a few basic magical tools are nice to have, the key element of most traditions are the beliefs, not the tangible, physical items. If you’d like to gather a very basic “starter kit” of tools, there are several which are common to nearly every tradition.
10
You Can Write Your Own Spells and Rituals
Despite a commonly held (and generally Internet-based) belief to the contrary, anyone can write and cast a spell. The trick is to recognize what the key elements are to successful spellcrafting — intent or goal, components, and putting it into practice are all key. Don’t let anyone tell you that beginners can’t write a spell. Just like any other skill set, it will take some practice, but with a little work you can become a perfectly effective spellworker.

Living a Magical Life
Tips for Day to Day Magical Living
People find themselves drawn to Paganism and Wicca for a variety of reasons. Some may be trying to escape some other religion. Others may be looking for a sense of personal empowerment. Still others may realize that the beliefs they’ve held all along are in tune with those of a Pagan path. Regardless, once you’ve found your new path, there comes a time when you may ask yourself “How can I make this spiritual system part of my daily life?”
Are you someone who thinks about the principles of your tradition all the time, or only when it’s convenient? If you honor a particular deity in your path, do you do so just on the eight Sabbats, but not bother the rest of the time? Are you constantly reading and learning, or do you figure everything you need to know is contained in the three books you already own? In other words, are you a “weekend Wiccan”?
Living a magical life is something that one does twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Depending on the needs of your tradition, it may involve something as complex as daily ritual, or as simple as taking a moment to thank your gods each morning when you get out of bed. It means being in tune with the spiritual world around you, and staying in balance physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Does this mean you need to run around shouting “The Goddess loves you!” all day long? Not at all…
in fact, the rest of us would appreciate it if you didn’t do that. What it does mean is there’s a difference between seeing Paganism and Wicca as something you “do” versus something you believe.
How can you bring more magic into your daily life? Try one, or more, of the following — and if something doesn’t apply to your particular flavor of Paganism, don’t sweat it.
Use what you need, and set the rest aside.
Pay attention to the phases of the moon. Know what’s happening in the skies, and notice how (or if) it affects the way you feel.
Recognize that you don’t know everything there is to know. Continue learning and growing, and be willing to accept that sometimes new knowledge will come from unexpected sources. Don’t assume that you’re always right, just because you’ve always done or thought something.
Show respect for nature — do things on a daily basis that are good for the planet. Recycle, compost, cut back on excess energy consumption. If you believe the earth is sacred, treat it as such.
Get in touch with the land. Plant a garden, study the changes of the seasons. Realize how good it feels to grow your own herbs and vegetables.
Be empowered. Know that you have control over many of the things that happen to you. If someone or something makes you miserable, make the changes that are necessary to bring yourself happiness.
Understand that just as you have control over your life, you are also responsible for your actions. Take ownership of everything you do — even if that includes admitting you’re wrong sometimes.
Find a way to honor the Divine in your daily life, rather than just at monthly Esbats or the eight Sabbats each year. Even if you just start your day with a morning “thank you” to your gods or to the universe itself, it’s not a bad thing to acknowledge the gifts that we have in our lives.
Behave in a way that is honorable — if you make a promise, keep it. If someone needs help and you can provide it, offer it.
When you do something mundane, think about how you can use it in a magical application. For example, when you’re baking cookies, consider what sort of magical working you can incorporate into the recipe.
Consider the impact that your words and actions have on not only the environment, but also on other people and on yourself.

All Saints’ or All Hallows’ Day, according to Pagan custom, begins as the Sun sets the evening before on Samhain, the Festival of the Dead. It was made into a celebration of all the known saints and martyrs of the Catholic Church in the seventh century. Originally, it was celebrated on May 13, but was shifted to this date in the eighth century to coincide with the Pagan Festival of the Dead. This is a time of intercession for the dead souls that have not yet been purified and ascended to the next plane. Family members and relatives send prayers for their loved ones in the hope of helping them. Mumming, bonfires, the decoration of graves, and fortune-telling games are associated with the celebration.

Daily Astrology for Thursday, November 2nd
The Moon is in Aries.
The Moon is void from 11:02 PM forward (until tomorrow at 5:46 AM).
The Moon is waxing and in its Waxing Gibbous phase.
The First Quarter Moon occurred on the 27th, and a Full Moon will occur in the sign of Taurus on November 4th.
Moon in Aries
We’re motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to start something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.

Daily Overview of the Planets for Thursday, November 2nd
Early today, a Mercury-Chiron trine strengthens our communication skills, not so much on a technical level but more in terms of using both our heads and our hearts to understand one another.
However, a longer-term influence comes into exactitude today: Saturn square Chiron. This is the last in a set of three (the aspect first perfected in December 2016 and again in April 2017), and we’re likely to deal with fears of not being competent or capable enough to meet our responsibilities. During the course of this transit, we may have had a hard time striking out on a unique path, again due to insecurities. The desire to break from the status quo has been strong, but we may have struggled with mustering up the necessary confidence to do so. Again now, circumstances are such that we may need to take a hard look at our vulnerabilities.
Later today, a Mercury-Uranus quincunx can complicate our interactions as it can be challenging to get a point across clearly or even kindly. There can be disorganization, a lack of receptiveness to practical advice, or unclear directions and instructions to deal with. We have some help from the Moon’s sextile to Saturn as well as Venus as it approaches a sextile to Saturn, which can be grounding and practical-minded, although not as certain of itself as it typically is due to a quincunx to Chiron. The Moon spends the day in Aries.
A void of course Moon occurs from 11:03 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Uranus), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Friday, November 3rd, at 5:46 AM EDT.

The Sky This Week for November 2 to November 5
The last of the Orionids and several bright planets will appear in the sky this week.
By Richard Talcott
Thursday, November 2
Uranus reached opposition and peak visibility two weeks ago, and it remains a tempting target all this week. The outer planet appears in the southeastern sky during midevening and climbs highest in the south around midnight local daylight time. The magnitude 5.7 world lies in southeastern Pisces, 2.3° west of magnitude 4.3 Omicron (ο) Piscium, the brightest star in this part of Pisces. Although Uranus shines brightly enough to glimpse with the naked eye under a dark sky, use binoculars to locate it initially. A telescope reveals the planet’s blue-green disk, which spans 3.7″.
Friday, November 3
Full Moon officially arrives at 1:23 a.m. EDT tomorrow morning (10:23 p.m. PDT this evening). You can find it rising in the east around sunset and peaking in the south just before 1 a.m. local daylight time. It dips low in the west by the time morning twilight starts to paint the sky. The Moon lies on the border between the constellations Pisces and Cetus.

Saturn remains a tempting target in this week’s early evening sky. The ringed planet stands 15° above the southwestern horizon an hour after sunset and remains 10° high at twilight’s close. Shining at magnitude 0.5, it appears four times brighter than any of the background stars in its host constellation, Ophiuchus the Serpent-bearer. Of course, the best views of Saturn come through a telescope, which reveals a 15″-diameter globe surrounded by a spectacular ring system that spans 35″ and tilts 27° to our line of sight.
Sunday, November 5
For those areas of the United States and Canada that observe daylight saving time, set your clocks back one hour this morning. The official switch occurs at 2 a.m. local daylight time, which becomes 1 a.m. local standard time. The switch means sunrise and sunset both arrive an hour earlier today than they did yesterday. So, at least by clock time, the latest sunrise of the year occurred yesterday morning.
Observers in eastern and central North America are in for a surprise shortly after the Moon rises. Although the waning gibbous Moon lies among the background stars of Taurus the Bull, that constellation’s brightest star will be absent because Luna is blocking 1st-magnitude Aldebaran from view. Observers should target the Moon’s dark limb through their telescopes and try to view the star when it suddenly reappears.
The Moon reaches perigee, the closest point in its orbit around Earth, at 7:10 p.m. EST. It then lies 224,587 miles (361,438 kilometers) away from us.

The Official Description: This beautiful chime candle holder is intended to give your Yule season a little more cheer, featuring interchangeable top-pieces that can be Angels, a Clown, or a Horse. Height will vary slightly depending on the top chosen. 7″ x 4′ x 4″
Now on a personal note: This beautiful candle holder is not only for the Yule season but it can be used during any season. The top can be changed to any design you might like, for example on Ostara, an Ostara egg would be perfect and you can let your imagination go on and on; a child’s birthday, a pretty little unicorn, Summer, an image of the Sun or Sun God. Not to mention this gorgeous candle holder can not only be used and look beautifully on your altar, it can be placed on your mantle, kitchen table, any place in plain view. The mundane won’t know what it is except a very beautiful candle holder but you will know it true magick and beauty. The bonus with this item, light the candles and let the heat from them slowly turn the chime wheel. Listen to the beautiful tune they create and get lost in their beautiful melody.
I know it does say it takes chime candles, which we do sell here, but you don’t necessarily have to use chime candles. I know those of you who know me, knows I hate to spend a dollar and I am always saying, “The Goddess doesn’t expect us to go broke practicing The Craft.” So my little trick when it comes to candles is, if they are too big, I carve them down, if they are too small, I wrap a small piece of doubled-up toilet at the base and they fit perfectly. See there is always more than one way to skin a cat. No, I ain’t skinning cat these days, lol! This candle holder is beautiful and the picture does not do it justice. Plus, they are enchanting to have in your house, I don’t want you miss out on this beauty.
With a purchase of $15.00 or more, you will find this gorgeous and unique candle holder in your package.

The Witches Daily Horoscopes & Divination for October 31

The Witches Daily Horoscopes & Divination for October 31
Weekly Forecast: October 29 – November 4, 2017
The Karmic Tools Weekly Forecast covers the current planetary transits which affect people in different ways and to various degrees of intensity. Take notice when it is a Personal planet (Sun / Moon / Mercury / Venus / Mars) interacting with a Social (Jupiter/Saturn) or Collective planet (Uranus / Neptune/Pluto). And pay extremely close attention when it is a Social planet interacting with a Collective planet because that means something *big* is brewing that will move large groups of people along their evolutionary paths. Tuning in to the energy and rhythm of the planets can serve as a useful *guide* as you move along your Individual Path. It also helps to understand your place within the context of the larger Social & Collective Story. Below, you will find out how these energies tend to manifest, as well as guidance and direction.
*NOTE* There are some days when there are NO CONTACTS (besides the Moon), please note that there are no missing entries, we just list the actual Activations of each week + the day they happen.
Weekly Forecast: October 29 – November 4, 2017
11/3 ~ Venus (relationships) ~sextile~ Saturn (responsibility):
This energy has to do with your obligations within the context of relationships. They are not difficult obligations (in this case) but more emphasis is placed on enjoying serving those you love. This is also what I would call the “keep it real” energy, regarding relationships. This energy makes you want to really sit down and define your terms within your relationships (which I am a total advocate of). It’s really hard to grow to the next level when each person is not clear on what the other expects. Of course, this starts with you knowing what you want/don’t want and what you are willing to compromise about so you can articulate that clearly.
11/3 ~ Sun (authentic Self) ~trine~ Neptune (intuition):
This energy triggers your idealistic, altruistic inclinations, but remember that help has to be invited. But if you have the energy to share & to spare, then dedicate your Self to something greater than you. Choose a cause to support or help those less fortunate for the sheer pleasure of giving. If your energy is low at this time, it is better directed inward. If you can, take some extra time in intentional solitude, praying, meditating and connecting to Spirit this week, you will be rewarded with deep revelations & mystical discoveries within you. It’s a great time to do divinations, ritual or ceremony if you’re into that. Your intuition is heightened also, so pay attention to any ‘messages’ that come through or to you. Try to use this energy to reflect on where you are and dream a little about where you want to be, mentally, spiritually and physically in 6-months to a year from now.
11/4 ~ Venus (values) ~oppose~ Uranus (freedom):
Any time Uranus is involved, it becomes the “wild card” and hard to predict how things will unfold, but right now there is a push-pull between your apparent values and your unique individual self. Venus also represents relationships, so you may begin an unusual relationship or you may have something unusual happen in an established relationship. It is not necessarily a “good/bad” thing, as much as an unpredictable shift or sudden awareness, which requires some compromise & integration. This energy works beautifully if your personal Truth and values are in alignment. It will be very disruptive if they are not. Be open and flexible, while looking for the win/win situation for all involved.

Nightmares of the Zodiac
What’s your Sun sign’s deepest fear?
It’s that time of year again, when Americans like to scare themselves with ghosts, goblins and the rest of Halloween’s spooky tomfoolery. You might call it our annual fear fest, but are these truly our worst fears? Of course not. To find qualms that really make our skin crawl, we need to dig a little deeper.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
You are at the end of a long line hiking up a tall mountain. The group’s leaders are Virgos, arguing about which way to go, while everyone else plods along at a snail’s pace. You’re going to have to push your way to the head of the line and stage a coup … or tear your hair out. Which will it be?
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Wait a minute … whose car is that in your garage? Okay, the one you had was breaking down every other day and you were thinking about replacing it … but it was a comfy jalopy and, besides, you hadn’t finished your research. Now someone has gone and made up your mind for you. That’s not fair!
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Can’t someone just change that muzak? If orchestral string covers weren’t bad enough, you work in a room all alone, your iPhone is dead and you can’t even get your browser to load. Communication breakdown … your private version of hell … has finally come true.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
As you open your door, your friends shout “surprise!” It’s your birthday and they’ve got an all-you night planned. As you squeeze between co-workers you barely know, they start projecting a PowerPoint featuring your naked baby pictures, every bad hairdo and ugly date you’ve ever had, plus your fat phase.
Leo (July 23 – Aug 22)
Amidst booing and hissing, olives and cocktail umbrellas flying through the air … you’re cowering on a karaoke stage after what you thought was a knockout rendition of Wild Thing. Returning to your table, you find your date has bailed and left a napkin note telling you what a complete loser you are.
Virgo (Aug 23 – Sept 22)
You’re behind a counter, facing a long line of angry customers waiting to tell you in detail about everything that’s wrong with the product you designed. That’s right, the one you slaved over for years and were sure would be a best seller. They don’t want exchanges or refunds … they want your head!
Libra (Sept 23 – Oct 22)
Your partner’s quirks have been gnawing on your last nerve for what seems like eons. You’re about to explode when … sure enough, like clockwork … he/she pulls one more stunt. Arms flailing, screaming at the top of your lungs, you lunge for his/her throat. So much for your famous emotional control, Libra.
Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)
You trust your new sweetie implicitly, but that doesn’t keep you from indulging in a little snooping while he/she is in the shower. Rummaging through bedside drawers, you discover a set of sexy underwear you’ve never seen before. Two can play at this game, you vow, as you plot your revenge.
Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)
The jury has come back with its verdict and you’re guilty. You’ll be spending the next decade of your life in one place. But don’t worry … it’s a minimum-security prison with a lovely view of the freeway. You can still dream about all the places you’ll travel when you get parole.
Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)
Who’s that waving his finger in your face? Why, it’s that guy you used to supervise before your job was outsourced. Now you’re wearing stonewashed jeans and sitting at a tiny workstation in a row of cubicles that never ends. What happened to your Gucci suits and private corner office?
Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 18)
A security guard meets you at the entrance to your new workplace and whisks you away to a room where you undergo a complete makeover. When you’re finally escorted into your new office, you discover everyone looks exactly like you. Next on your newbie schedule … brainwashing!
Pisces (Feb 19 – March 20)
You hear a loud knocking on your door and open it to find three IRS men ready to rip into your tax return. They want you to account for every latte expense you listed and are suspicious of your self-employed income, too. Tearfully, you open the shoebox where you shoved your receipts to face the sorting and organizing you dread

GEMINI (May 22nd-June 21st)
You will find this week that if you love life, then life will love you back! Don’t be forced into doing something you know you will regret. Remember you’re a Gemini and that sometimes your stubborn nature can be a blessing.

The Moon gives you reason to trust those you would not normally place faith in. You see with ease that by feeling your way through events, you build up confidence in yourself and all you do.
LEO (July 24th-August 23rd)
I know you want to see things progress quicker than they have been, but sometimes it’s more important to take your time to build a more secure base for yourself so that it can last. Ring now to hear who I think is bringing negativity into your life.
VIRGO (August 24th-September 23rd)
You seem to be looking at life with fresh eyes and fresh inspiration. Finally, you’ve moved on from what and who was dragging you down. Good times await if you can find the confidence to say yes to that you normally say no to.
LIBRA (September 24th-October 23rd)
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. You work out that in order to enjoy life, you have to try things which make you feel nervous and scared. You’re about to discover a new life goal. Ring now so I can help you enjoy this ride you’re on.
SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)

SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)

AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)
Life is like photography. We develop from the negatives. Work on making sense of what recently occurred and how you can move on from it to be a better person. Get the things on your agenda for the week done today
PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)
A happier Pisces is slowly but surely evolving. You know now that you were accepting second best when you deserve the better. Announcements you make tonight most definitely distance you from those who are no good for you.

If You Were Born Today, October 31
You are a dependable person who can also be spontaneous and unique while steady and reliable overall. Some people might call you hard-headed! You can stick to something (or someone) longer than most people, and your ability to read between the lines is outstanding. People generally admire your conviction and your wit, and you inspire trust in others due to your “no-nonsense” approach to life. Family oriented and committed, you are also typically quite organized.

SCORPIO (October 24th-November 22nd)
Try to resist the temptation to get involved in business that does not involve you. You could end up putting someone’s nose out of joint after you only just made up with them. Ring now to hear how flirtations could be the making of something long term and successful.
SAGITTARIUS (November 23rd-December 21st)
You haven’t failed until you quit trying Sagittarius. I know you’re low on energy levels, but taking some time out to do something which inspires you will give you back your passion for your journey.
CAPRICORN (December 22nd-January 20th)
Don’t settle for anything than the best Capricorn. You should know by now that you’re a sign that needs a mental and a physical attraction. The Sun helps you to heal a rift you were beginning to lose sleep over. Ring now for a glimpse at your future.
AQUARIUS (January 21st-February 19th)
Opportunities multiply as they are seized. Begin by taking life one day at a time. You have been worrying about what might happen next, when you should be working on what is happening now.
PISCES (February 20th-March 20th)
Don’t let jealousy stand in the way of a perfectly good friendship. For a sign who is usually so confident, you’re allowing little words and actions to hit you like a tidal wave.

We hate to cut and run but we have some items that we still have to pick up for tonight’s rituals and spells. Besides everyone is running around here like a bunch of wild monkeys running and you can’t get nothing done. We wish everyone a very beautiful & magickal Samhain!!
Wishing You & Yours A Very Magickal & Mystical Samhain! Happy New Year Witches!
“Smoke hangs like haze over harvested fields
The gold of stubble, the brown of turned earth
And you walk under the red light of fall
The scent of fallen apples, the dust of threshed grain
The sharp, gentle chill of fall.
Here as we move into the shadows of autumn
The night that brings the morning of spring
Come to us, Lord of Harvest
Teach us to be thankful for the gifts you bring us
The bounty of your sacrifice
The warmth and the light of friends gathered around the bounty of the earth.
Dionysus, Osiris, Cernunnos, Dumuzi, Frey,
Lord of the grain,
Welcome!”
– Autumn Equinox Celebration

“The symbolism of this Sabbat is that of The Third (and final) Harvest, it marks the end of Summer, the beginning of Winter. It is a time marked by death when the Dead are honored – a time to celebrate and “study” the Dark Mysteries. “Samhain” means “End of Summer”. Its historical origin is The Feast of the Dead in Celtic lands. It is believed that on this night, the veil Between the Worlds is at its thinnest point, making this an excellent time to communicate with the Other Side. Symbols for representing this Sabbat may include Jack-O-Lanterns, Balefires, Masks, The Besom (Magickal Broom), The Cauldron, and the Waning Moon. Altar decorations might include small jack-o-lanterns, foods from the harvest, and photographs of your loved ones who have departed from this world. Appropriate Deities for Samhain include all Crone Goddesses, and the Dying God or the “Dead” God. Samhain Goddesses include Hecate, Hel, Inanna, Macha, Mari, Psyche, Ishtar, Lilith, The Morrigu/Morrigan, Rhiannon, and Cerridwen. Key actions to keep in mind during this time in the Wheel of the Year include return, change, reflection, endings and beginnings, and honoring the Dead. Other meanings behind this Sabbat celebration include the Wisdom of the Crone, the Death of the God, and the Celebration of Reincarnation.”

Your Astrology for Tuesday, October 31st
The Moon is in Pisces.
The Moon is void from 5:07 PM forward (until tomorrow at 2:42 AM).
The Moon is waxing and in its First Quarter phase until 3:16 PM, after which the Moon is in its Waxing Gibbous phase.
The First Quarter Moon occurred on the 27th, and a Full Moon will occur in the sign of Taurus on November 4th.

Moon in Pisces
The Moon is traveling through Pisces today. You may feel disconnected. Serve others. Listen to music. Paint a picture. Daydream.
We are not inclined to want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It’s a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.

Daily Overview of Astronomy for Tuesday, October 31
The Moon spends another full day in Pisces, and its trine to Mercury facilitates conversations about feelings or things we typically find difficult to express. However, we can be in an unusually serious or defensive frame of mind in the hours surrounding the Moon’s square to Saturn late afternoon and early evening (EDT). We might experience feelings of being blocked with Saturn, the great teacher, reminding us to slow down, ultimately for our own good. Responsibilities or worries can weigh heavily on our minds, especially with the Sun and Saturn approaching a semi-square, exact tomorrow.
As Venus and Vesta move to an alignment in the sign of Libra, we might take pleasure in our commitment to or involvement in our relationships. We’re more willing than usual to make sacrifices if we feel they’ll help us improve our relationships or finances.
A void of course Moon occurs from 5:08 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Saturn), until the Moon enters Aries tomorrow, Wednesday, November 1st, at 2:43 AM EDT.

The Sky This Week for October 31 to November 5
The last of the Orionids and several bright planets will appear in the sky this week.
By Richard Talcott
Tuesday, October 31
Although the Orionid meteor shower peaked 10 days ago, the shower remains active until November 7. And with the Moon setting around 3 a.m. local daylight time (some three hours before twilight begins), observers can expect to see a few “shooting stars” in the predawn sky. To differentiate an Orionid from a sporadic, remember that a shower meteor will appear to radiate from the northern part of the constellation Orion the Hunter.
Wednesday, November 1
Venus rises around 6 a.m. local daylight time and dominates the morning sky from then until close to sunrise. Gleaming at magnitude –3.9, no other point of light comes close to matching this planet’s brilliance. As a bonus today, Venus passes 4° due north of Virgo’s brightest star, 1st-magnitude Spica. The planet shines 100 times brighter than the star.
Saturday, November 4

Boundaries are shifting and melting like candle wax now, and in the weeks ahead. And that, of course, includes the boundaries between the realms of the living and the dead, the everyday world and the supernatural……Happy Halloween!

“The Celts honored the opposing balance of intertwining forces of existence: darkness and light, night and day, cold and heat, death and life. The Celtic year was divided into two seasons: the light and the dark, celebrating the light at Beltane on May 1st and the dark at Samhain on November 1st. Therefore, the Feast of Samhain marks one of the two great doorways of the Celtic year. Some believe that Samhain was the more important festival, since it marked the beginning of a new dark-light cycle. The Celts observed time as proceeding from darkness to light because they understood that in dark silence comes whisperings of new beginnings, the stirring of the seed below the ground. Therefore, the Celtic year began with the season of An Geamhradh, the dark Celtic winter, and ended with Am Foghar, the Celtic harvest. The Celtic day began at dusk, the beginning of the dark and cold night, and ended the following dusk, the end of a day of light and warmth. Since dusk is the beginning of the Celtic day, Samhain begins at dusk on October 31. Samhain marks the beginning of An Geamhradh as well as the New Year. Whereas Beltane was welcomed in the summer light with joyous celebrations at dawn, the most magically potent time of Samhain was at night. Oidhche Shamhna, the Eve of Samhain, was the most important part of the celebration. Villagers gathered the best of the autumn harvest and slaughtered cattle for the feast. The focus of each village’s festivities was a great bonfire. Villagers cast the bones of the slaughtered cattle upon the flames. (Our word bonfire comes from these “bone fires.”) Personal prayers in the form of objects symbolizing the wishes of supplicants or ailments to be healed were cast into the fire. Many sacrifices and gifts were offered up in thanksgiving for the harvest. With the great bonfire roaring, the villagers extinguished all other fires. Each family then solemnly lit their hearth from the one great common flame, bonding all families of the village together. As they received the flame that marked this time of beginnings, people surely felt a sense of the kindling of new dreams, projects and hopes for the year to come.”
