The Mothers or Three Marys
This French holy day celebrates the cult of the Goddess as a triad of mothers at Aries, in Provence. Also referred to as “The Three Marys of Provence” or “Three Marys of the Sea,” this ancient festival acknowledges the three phases of womanhood as a triad, from birth, through life, to death. It was common for husbands to give flowers and candy to their daughters, wives, and mothers at this time.
