As you remember last weekend, I did Spring cleaning at the office and my home. I failed to mention that I got hot and decided to turn on our new central air unit. I turned it on and nothing happened. I couldn’t figure it out. I checked the thermostat, nothing. I was still puzzled. I called Lord Myst and he came down to the office. He decide to pull the panel off the unit and check to see what was going on. When he did it was immediately apparent what was going on, there was no A coil for the central air. None whatsoever. We walked outside and looked at that unit. It wasn’t a new unit at all. The outside looked new put the inside of it had at one time been on fire. I blew a gasket. I tried to contact the contractor his number to his business had been disconnected. We went to his business, the business was closed. We couldn’t locate him anywhere. Until this past weekend, we did not know his location. Now we do.
Yesterday, we spent talking to two different lawyers. We told both lawyers what had happened and they both agreed we had a case. We can sue him for the money he stole from us for the new unit and we can also have him sent to the pen. I want to do both. Unfortunately in cases like these, the lawyers require a retainer which we don’t have. The man owes us cost to $5000. That is what he charged to install the unit and was the price he also gave the insurance company. I talked to the insurance company and apparently it is out of their hands. It is now up to us to come up with enough money to retain a lawyer to pursue this case. If we don’t act quickly, the contractor can file bankruptcy and any suit we file against him after that will mean nothing.
I never dream of anything like this happening who would think to pull the cover off the a/c unit to see if it was all there. I didn’t and the others here said they wouldn’t have either. The unit that is outside is not the unit I saw sitting on the back of the flatbed. We did several walk arounds while the construction was going on and each time that new unit was on the back of the truck. He made the point of telling me several times that unit was our new unit. I feel like in the past few months we have been through enough. I want this man to pay for his corrupt ways. I am asking for your help in raising enough money to retain a lawyer so we can legally pursue this man. His contractor’s license needs to be pulled, he needs to be wiped out of his field so this will never happen again and personally I hope he rots somewhere!
I was looking forward to us actually being able to spend the Summer in a nice cool, comfortable office. Now this happens, it was a kick to the gut. This man needs to be sent away for a few years perhaps that will teach him a lesson or else he will come out a better criminal. One way or another, I want this man to pay for what he did to us. I can’t imagine someone being this dirty and underhanded. If we do not act quickly in this matter, the contractor can file bankruptcy and we will not get a penny from him. I understand that if the court files against him and he files bankruptcy that he cannot include our judgment in his bankruptcy case. Time is not on our side in this matter.
If you would like to help us raise the money for a retainer, we would deeply appreciate it. If nothing else, learn from my mistake, never trust anyone, even if they are installing a small nut and bolt, double check them. This is a lesson learned hard but well.

Very simple. If I cast a spell for money for personal use, I would be breaking a very sacred Oath I took.

Oh, I’m so sorry this happened to you, did you check with the local police, they may be able to file fraud charges, against him and the local District Attorney’s office might pick it up and pursue him, also check with your local office for State Contractors, and BBB, they may have more answers for you, and provide assistance.
People like that deserve to rot in the deepest darkest of pits..I’ll bet if you check you’ll find other’s that he’s defrauded, and there could be a class action case brought up ..maybe your local news can get involved, even someone one who’s filing for bankruptcy, can be contested if their doing do to get out of paying back funds fraudulently obtained, but check the local DA’ s office you might get more help there than you’d think.

Thank you for your concern, Nancy. I talked to the State’s Attorney yesterday and it is now in their hands. I have been guaranteed these people would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
