My Pagan Heart
My wicked self is always near,
The body that you sometimes fear,
It is a fact of life you know,
That Witches don’t convert, this is so –
We love what we do and won’t give it up, no matter what the situation,
We work our Magick and yell ‘head’s up!’
We wait and see how it will turn out,
When lust is in the air, and spirits move about.
Even though I know it scares you at times,
When all of my prayers are spoken in rhymes,
And when my love shoots a painful dart,
You will know that it’s me, and my Pagan heart.
Your smile is gentle, your words without care,
So you can imagine that I’m hurt by your stare,
When you look at me with fear in your eyes,
Clouded by the inaccurate lies,
That have been told since the ‘Burning Times’,
When we were evil with Satan in our lives.
So I struggle to tell you the truth,
It’s my very first job as a Witchcraft Sleuth,
Now let me love you, like I’ve wanted to from the start,
With nothing but me, and my Pagan heart.
I feel that I’ve known you since the beginning of time,
And loved you even before my crime,
Of letting you go, and turning you out,
But your safety is something I’ll always care about.
Now I hope I’ve explained all of my evil ways,
And your fear of the unknown has vanished, in the haze,
So you can begin to know the truth,
About my adventures as a Witchcraft Sleuth,
And you will understand, like I’ve wanted from the start,
That I am and always will be, a Pagan at heart.
