The Witches Magick for the 24th Day of the Seed Moon – Fehu Fast Cash Charm

Egyptian Comments & Graphics

FEHU FAST CASH CHARM

You will need cinnamon oil, a dollar bill, and a stapler.

At midnight, slowly trace the Fehu (pronounced Fay-hoo) Rune three times with the cinnamon oil on the face of the dollar bill. Hold the bill in your hands, imagine the bill multiplying beyond your expectations, and say:

Fehu, Fehu, Fehu,

Fu, fa, fi, fe, fo,

Fehu, Fehu, Fehu

Bring cash fast!

Next, trace three clockwise circles around the Fehu Rune. As you do, say:

One, two, three

Bring cash to me!

Fold the dollar three times, and staple it. When you staple the bill, use three staples. Make the staples look like the Fehu Rune with one upright stave and two adjoining ones to the right of the first stave . Stick the stapled dollar into your wallet or purse, and dont spend it for at least four weeks to draw money to you. Every time you look at the stapled bill, chant:

Fehu, Fehu, Fehu

One, two, three

Bring cash to me!

Imagine more and more cash in your wallet or purse. Visualize the dollar multiplying again and again into hundreds of dollars.

WOTC Extra (d) West Wind

Egyptian Comments & Graphics

West Wind

The west wind blows cool and moist; it may carry a hint of rain or mist as it washes over the land. It is a fertile, loving force that is gentle and persuasive.

It symbolically rules twilight, when all is at a standstill; day and night merge into a magical landscape of muted colors and breezes. Sunset, like sunrise, is an excellent time to perform magic more so if the correct wind is blowing.

Water magic love, healing, fertility and so on is excellent for the west wind, as it adds its own forces and energies from that quarter. Especially excellent for spells involving cleansing or purely religious rituals, the west winds is welcome relief after the dry, hot breeze from the south.

The west wind is the blue of the sky just before all the light fades from the sky.

South Wind

The further south you travel, the hotter it gets on this side of the equator, at least. For this reason, the southern wind is a hot and fiery one.

Symbolically it rules noon, when the sun (or moon) is highest in the sky, the time of the greatest light and heat. Because the south wind is related to the element of fire, its magic covers the same ground. The south wind, however, can be used for any type of magic when its blowing. Its a good time to cast spells.

Since this wind is strong and hot, spells performed with it are assured an extra jolt of power. It is always exciting and interesting working with the south wind!

Be warned, however, that fire even the diluted fire of the southern wind can be dangerous. As we know, fire can burn.

The color of the south wind? Yellow the yellow of the sun at noon.

WOTC Extra (b) East Wind

Egyptian Comments & Graphics

East Wind

The wind blowing from the east is that of freshness, renewed life, strength, power, and intellect. It is a warm, bracing wind that blows from the point at which the sun, moon, and stars make their shining appearances.

Thusly, it is the wind involved with beginnings, the new phenomena that rise from the work of the north wind. The heat is that of the sun, and the spark of creation.

Spells best utilized when the wind is sweeping from the east are those concerning dramatic improvements and changes for the better, especially in behavior. Also, east wind spells are those involving the mind and all spells involving the element of air, to which it is magically related.

Love spells are best not performed with an easterly wind, unless you want a very intellectual love. But perhaps there’s nothing wrong with that!

Since the east is the direction of sunrise and light, the color is white.

WOTC Extra (a) North Wind

Egyptian Comments & Graphics

North Wind

The north wind is the wind of death but not necessarily that of physical death. This is the realm of the one eternal universal law change. Death here refers to the elimination of negativity.

The north wind is cold (magically speaking), blowing in as it does from the direction of winter when snows lie deep across the lands. It is dry, or barren, thus paving the way for spells of destruction.

How to use it? If you are depressed, anxious, envious, jealous, angry, and the wind is blowing from the north, face full into it and it will free you of these things.

If you wish to break a bad habit, perform any spell of this, nature while the north wind is blowing for added power.

The north wind, while chilly with night and death and deep snows, is also the wind of the element earth, and thus shares in some of its qualities. But the wind, being dry, is not favorable for fertility and prosperity magic, although magic involving healing can be greatly aided by the north wind.

Its color is the black of midnight.

Let’s Talk Witch – Air Magick: The Winds

Egyptian Comments & Graphics

Air Magick: The Winds

The Winds

For centuries peoples have thought of the wind as being of four basic types, corresponding to the four directions or quarters of the earth. These are the north, east, south, and west winds. Each is possessed of its own magical virtues, and certain spells are best cast during certain winds.

This may seem to be rather unnecessarily complicated, but it needn’t be. Looking to the winds when performing magic is no more difficult than checking the phase of the moon, although the “phase” of the wind doesn’t last as long.

At best, if you can rig up a weathervane or windsock to determine the winds, you can adjust your magical workings slightly by waiting for the right wind.

Naturally, if the wind has been blowing steadily from the north all morning, it won’t do to wait for a westerly one. The system is here to guide and aid, not to control our actions. Check the winds or not as you wish.

In looking over the following discussions of each of the winds, bear in mind that this is not an absolute system; different parts of the world have different attributes for the winds. The attributes described below are those favored in North America and Europe. Changes may be necessary for your own area, due to climate, location, and weather patterns.

The four winds are at least superficially related to the elements, and this can be kept in mind, but each has its own powers peculiar to the winds themselves.

One important point: in speaking of, say, the north wind, it is the wind that blows from that direction rather than to the direction that is in question.

Celebrating Other Spirituality 365 Days A Year – St. George’s Day

Egyptian Comments & Graphics

April 24

St. George’s Day

St. George is the patron saint of England—as well as Greece, Portugal, and Aragon—as of soldiers and boy scouts. As are most of the saints, George was a mysterious character. He was reputed to have rescued the daughter of the king of Silene-the end of the third century A.D. The princess was a sacrificial victim being offered to a dragon that was devouring the people. Saint George arrived on his white horse and beheaded the dragon with one swift blow of his mighty sword.

During the late medieval period this date was widely celebrated ebrated throughout London, Norwich, Chester, Leicester, and York. The festivities began on the evening of the 23rd and proceeded throughout the following day. There were civic presentations, parades, and horse races. It was believed that if you dreamed of a man on this night, he would become your love.

Children’s Day in Iceland. Celebrate with your own children or let the child within come out and play.

Saint Mark’s Eve. According to folklore of the English countryside, the ghosts of all men, women, and children destined to pass away in the next year can be seen floating by on this night by any person brave enough to spend the night awake on the front porch of a church. However, if a person was unfortunate enough to fall asleep during the vigil or if he failed to repeat it annually for the remainder of his life, he would never wake up the next morning.

In North Africa, this holiday is called Maimuna. The evening meal features dairy foods symbolizing birth and fertility: milk, figs, ears of wheat, pancakes with butter or honey. The table is decorated with a live fish in a bowl (like the table for St. Joseph (see Mar 19) or Nawruz (see Mar 20) and a bowl of flour containing golden rings. The following day is devoted to picnics at beaches, fields and in cemeteries.

The striking similarity of Maimuna to No Rooz (celebrated on Spring Equinox in Persia), plus its geographic location, suggests that this is a hybrid holiday, an integration of the old Zoroastrian New Year celebration with the rituals of Passover.
Waskow, Arthur, Seasons of Our Joy, Beacon 1982

Secretaries Day The Wednesday of the last full week in April has been designated as Secretaries Day, perhaps to provide secretaries with a welcome day off during a month with no other paid holidays. Having spent a large portion of my working life as a secretary, I always advocate for the honoring of this often overlooked and underestimated profession. Secretaries will get another chance to celebrate on August 25th, the feast day of their patron saint, St. Genesius of Arles.

FRIDAY’S WITCHERY

FRIDAY’S WITCHERY

Love magick is a perennial popular topic. However, there is more to this topic than meets the eye. There are many enchanting layers here for us to explore on this day of the week. What about creating a loving home, or producing a loving and nurturing family? What about keeping your intimate relationships vital and on track? How about promoting happy, healthy, and enduring friendships? See, there is more to be considered than just the “You shall be mine…” type of fictional love spell. Don’t forget that many of the deities associated with Fridays are also parents. So, yes, while this is the day to work on romance, sex, and love spells, there is additional magick to be considered here, which makes Fridays a more well-rounded and bigger opportunity for witchery than many folks ever truly realize. The truest, strongest magick always comes from the heart.

Egyptian Comments & Graphics

Great Goddess, Great God

Look down upon your children

And help us to live together in peace

Send us tolerance and understanding

Patience with each other

And with ourselves

Help us to play nice

And to get along despite our differences

Let us tear down the walls that keep us apart

And build bridges that will bring us together

Help us to realize

That we must learn to live as one

On our beautiful planet

Great Goddess, Great God

Let there be peace

And let it begin with us.

So Mote It Be.

Moon Names

The Moon has long been as important in deity worship as the Sun has. For many ancient people believed that without the Moon to allow the Sun to sleep the Sun would not return the next day. For many the month or a period of time passing was from one full Moon to the next. Many tribes had a calendar year of thirteen months to coincide with the number of full Moons. The Celtic/Lunar calendar, still in use today, has thirteen months or Moon cycles to it. The lunar calendar is based on a month that has approximately 29.5 days. This is the reason the full Moon dates change from year to year.

Why does each full Moon have many different names? For that we have to consider that the names come from many different parts of the world. When the old ones naming them were alive they did not have the communication access to other people around the globe as we do now. They were isolated in their own portion of the world and only knew things there. Remember it is only been a few hundred years that the Earth was not thought of having an end you could fall off of in to an abyss.

I am sure I have missed a few of the names the Moon is or has been called by so I do not claim this is a complete list. If you know of other names I have not listed please email the name and month it belongs to, to me at ladybeltane@aol.com, so I can put them on. Thanks!

What and when is a Blue Moon?

Most seasons have only three full moons in them, but because of the variation due to the Moons 29.5 day cycle some seasons have four full moons. The term “blue moon” is used to identify these extra full moons.

The Craft and the Old Religion or the Old Ways are intricately woven together just as much today as they have been before written history.

To me, I practice my craft while following the Old Ways traditions of respect and honor. I personally do not feel you can be a Witch practicing the Craft and not in some way honor the Old Religion/Ways because during rituals and spell work we call upon deities to help give power to what we are doing.

What is your opinion on whether The Old Religion/ Old Ways are part of being a Witch and practicing the Craft or not.

Come On & Join Us! Get Out from Behind that Computer & Go Outside & Celebrate Our Beautiful Mother!

Earth Day Comments & Graphics
It’s Earth Day, like you didn’t already know that, lol! We are leaving early because we want to take sometime to stop and honor our beautiful Mother Earth. The Earth is one of the greatest gifts the Goddess has given us. It is ashame how some people abuse and mistreat Her. They don’t seem to realize that our Earth is a living breathing planet. I believe our dear Mother Earth has feelings also. I believe She feels very sad because of the things humanity has done to her in the name of progress. Facts are facts, if things don’t change and people don’t take account for their own actions, then we will be with out a home. Our dear Mother Earth is too beautiful, full of life and joy to let that happen. As always the change has to start somewhere, let it start today and continue on. It doesn’t have to be Earth day to honor our Dear Mother Earth every day!

Now get out from behind that computer and come and join us. We are going to be planting several trees and a whole bunch of herbs. I must thank my dear sister, Meadow Walker, for all the beautiful herbs and seeds she has sent us. I mentioned at one time, we had thought of starting our own herbal store. I believe she is seeing that we fulfill that dream. She is a wonderful and very sweet witch. I must make a public apology to her for not writing recently. It seems I forgot how hard hoeing, digging and tilling can be. I have been coming in, putting the heating pad on, and passing out. Meadow, you now know why I haven’t been writing, it is all your fault, lol! Just kidding, thank you sweetie! In a few months, we will probably be selling herbs, so get those orders ready.

Now, up you go, turn off the computer, and go outside and enjoy all the beautiful and marvelous gifts the Goddess has given us!

Till tomorrow,

Love ya,

Lady A

Colorful Star Clouds in Cygnus
Image Credit & Copyright: André van der Hoeven

Explanation: Stars can form in colorful surroundings. Featured here is a star forming region rich in glowing gas and dark dust toward the constellation of the Swan (Cygnus), near the bright star Sadr. This region, which spans about 50 light years, is part of the Gamma Cygni nebula which lies about 1,800 light years distant. Toward the right of the image is Barnard 344, a dark and twisted dust cloud rich in cool molecular gas. A dramatic wall of dust and red-glowing hydrogen gas forms a line down the picture center. While the glowing red gas is indicative of small emission nebulas, the blue tinted areas are reflection nebulas — starlight reflecting from usually dark dust grains. The Gamma Cygni nebula will likely not last the next billion years, as most of the bright young stars will explode, most of the dust will be destroyed, and most of the gas will drift away.
