Mars rules Tuesday. The energies of this day best harmonize with efforts of masculine vibration, such as conflict, physical endurance and strength, lust, hunting, sports, and all types of competition. Use them, too, for rituals involving surgical procedures or political ventures.
It was on this date in 1781 that the German-born astronomer William Herschel discovered a new planet, whilst working in England, which
later took over the astrological ruling of Aquarius from Saturn. We now call this plant Uranus after the Romans’ primeval sky deity. Yet it was initially touch and go whether the new planet would be named Georgium Sidus (the Latin for “George Star”), in respectful recognition of Herschel’s patron, King George III, as Herschel himself had stipulated, or rather Herschel, Herschell, Herschellium, or Herschel’s planet, after its discoverer.
The divinatory art of lithomancy requires thirteen stones, symbolizing each of the seven traditional ruling planets (the sun, moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn), as well as life, love, health, the home, magick and news. Cast your stones on a table and interpret how they fall.

No one outside myself can rule me inwardly. Knowing this I become wholly free.
“Sow an act, and you reap a habit. Sow a habit, and you reap a character. Sow a character, and you reap a destiny.”
Charles Reade (1814-84)
When faced with difficult choices, view the situation as if it was a game of chess. Imagine those involved as pieces on the chess board. Assume the role of one of the players and meditate on the current state of play. From this position the dynamics of the situation may become clearer, enabling you to see the options open to you and to make a wiser choice.
