Mother Holle’s Cleansing Bath

Mother Holle’s Cleansing Bath

Mother Holle, Germanic Queen of Witches, leads the Wild Hunt. These herbs are traditionally gathered on Midsummer’s Eve and used for intensive cleansings between winter solstice and January 6th.
Blend the following herbs:
Avens
Chamomile
Elder
Elecampane
Heartsease
Mint
Mugwort
Mullein
Saint John’s Wort
Southernwood
Vervain
Yarrow
Sage
Make an infusion by pouring boiling water over the herbs. Let it steep, then strain and add to the bath. For maximum spiritual cleansing and happiness, float heartease(wild pansy) blossoms in the water.

  1. Hi,

Thanks so much for sharing this spiritual bath recipe (in fact for quite sometime i have been looking for this recipe).

    I have few questions though:
    – the list of herbs, should not this be 13 instead of 12 (only 12 is listed)
    – for a normal bath tub, what quantity of these herbs should we add and should all the herbs be added in equal quantity.

Thanks again. Hv a nice weekend.

    1. I apologize for taking so long to respond to your question. Please forgive me, sweetie. I appreciate you calling this to my attention, I omitted Sage (the thirteenth ingredient). That is what I get for being in a hurry. And yes, you do add equal parts of each to the recipe.

If you would like you can now go back and see the recipe in full. I corrected it, real quick. Oops! there I go again “real quick,” lol! Again I apologize for taking so long to responding. Thank you again for calling this to my attention. If you need anything else, just let me know.
