It’s Monday again and too think I have a sense of humor, lol! It seems like a life-time since I have talked to you all. Well, spend all day on the phone with PayPal and you will feel that way! I am sorry about yesterday, I was on the phone all day with PayPal, for real. I had intentions of making my usual posts yesterday but first I would call PayPal real quick and straighten out a mess. Now the keywords here are “real quick!” I got up yesterday morning, checked all my email accounts and also the WOTC’s email account. In the WOTC’s email account, I had a noticed were we had received a very generous donation from one of our readers. I contacted her this morning and should have asked if it would be all right to use her name but I didn’t think of it at the time. But it was truly a very generous donation. So I went to the WOTC’s PayPal account to accept the donation. I have used PayPal off and on while I have been on the internet. When I set the WOTC’s account up, it asked for me to add our checking account. Well I figured I would do it later, it would only take a few minutes (or so I thought, ha!). So yesterday to accept the donation, I had to add our bank account. I went to do so, added all the information required and then hit the “continue” button. Up pops a notice that our account could not be added due to the fact it was connected to other PayPal accounts. Needless to say I liked to have had a heart attack. I contacted PayPal by phone and got a hold of one of their customer service representatives. After about an hour on the phone, the rep. asks for just the account number associated with our bank. So I give that to her and she does a search. The search turned up that our account number, now just the account number, was associated with four other accounts. At the time, she didn’t explain to me that just the account numbers were the problem. I think I screamed, “you mean these accounts have our routing number too?” She said, “Oh, no, no, not the routing numbers just the account numbers.” Somehow PayPal was not registering the routing numbers first then the account number. So the rep. didn’t know what to do. She suggested that I call back Monday morning and talk to a Supervisor. Now mind you, I stayed on the phone with this representative for three hours yesterday. By the time I hung up, I was mad as a hornet, disguised, upset and had lost a very generous donation. Since I couldn’t add our bank account, I had no choice but to deny the donation (which made me sick, we could have put the donation to very good use). Now this morning, I called PayPal again. This time I had my coffee and cigarettes ready. I figured I would be on the phone for another hour or two. Well I was wrong, the Supervisor was very intelligent and extremely helpful. I explained the situation to her. She looked up the accounts, closed them out and helped me set up a new WOTC account. She even went so far as to verify the account, the email and did everything she could to insure this new account would work smoothly. I made a new donation button and linked it to this blog. It works like a dream. I thanked the Supervisor and thanked her. I just couldn’t believe it. I spent all day yesterday on the phone and didn’t accomplish nothing but just twenty minutes with the Supervisor and everything was up and running. Since we are on the topic of donations, I should tell you why donations are important now. Blogging, Facebook, Twitter and the other social networks are excellent for spreading the truth and beauty about Witchcraft. But let’s face it, you can only do so much. We have decided that we are going to build a website. We will continue to have our blog (personally I love blogging now, lol!) plus a new website. We feel we can go more in depth about Witchcraft and other Occult Topics on a website better than we can on a blog. The information will be organized and as always accurate. The website will have a section divided off especially for an online Witchcraft school. The school will be free to anyone seeking information about The Craft. We will offer lessons, exams and Elder Practitioners available to assist anyone at a moments notice. The website is still in the planning stage. We are looking at several servers and what they offer. When everything is complete, we will announce it here on the blog. The WOTC has survived many obstacles, thanks to you, our friends. We have always tried to serve the Pagan community to the best of our ability. The website, we believe, will help better spread our message across the internet. With your help and support, you have made this blog a success. With your help, we can continue to spread the truth about Witchcraft and ensure its place in today’s society.
