Saturday (Saturn): Longevity, exorcism, endings, homes, and houses.
Halloween • Samhain
Waning Moon
The Waning Moon (from the Full Moon to the New) is a time for study, meditation, and little magical work (except magic designed to banish harmful energies).
Moon phase: Third Quarter
Moon Sign: Gemini
Gemini: Things begun now are easily changed by outside influence. Time for shortcuts, communication, games, and fun.
Moon enters Cancer 5: 09 am
Cancer: Stimulates emotional rapport between people. Pinpoints need, supports growth and nurturance. Tends to domestic concerns.
The planetary correspondence for Saturday is Saturn. Matters dealing with the public, farming, family ties, legal matters (such as wills and estates), taking care of debts, dealing with lawyers, financing, joint money matters, real estate, older people, banishing or binding negativity, and getting rid of bad habits all fall under the charge of Saturn. It’s easy to see why “Saturday’s child works hard for his living.”
Saturday’s angels are Cassiel, Machatan, Uriel, and Orifiel. Cassiel is the angel of solitudes and tears. He is one of the rulers of the planet Saturn and occasionally appears as the angel of patience. Cassiel links himself to dragon energy. Regarding Machatan, the only information we get is that he works well with Cassiel and is also a power of Saturn. Orifiel is an angel of the wilderness, a ruler of the second hour of the day, and also associated with Saturn.
On Saturday, the hour of sunrise and every eight hours after that are also ruled by Saturn, and that makes these times of the day doubly blessed. These four hours are the strongest four hours for conducting ritual. Check the local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac to determine your local sunrise.
Your ruler, Mars, is now transiting your work and health sector, dear Aries, and will continue to animate this area of your solar chart until November 12th. It’s a good time to take on challenging projects that you may have been putting off. Positively, you have more initiative and energy for work projects, and can apply yourself with more vigor. You might also step up or begin a health and fitness program during this cycle. Today, some irritability is likely as plans seem to be thwarted. Your productivity can be undermined by issues that cause you anxiety or guilt, but avoid letting these take over to the point that your interactions with others are tense. A game plan can help you to channel your energy more effectively.
Taurus
Taurus
Energetic Mars is now moving through your solar fifth house, dear Taurus, and will continue to do so until November 12th. This sector of your chart rules romance, pleasure, self-expression, and entertainment, and these areas of your life are invigorated now. You are more willing to take personal risks, with your heart and your creative impulses, but also possibly with money (watch this last one!). You are more outgoing and generally seize opportunities as they arise during this cycle. Romance can become heated, and this can be stimulating or challenging, depending on how you handle the energy. Today, however, with Mars challenged by Saturn, there can be some frustration if you are trying to push something that needs more time to play out. There may be some stiffness in your interactions or off timing. Remember your watchword: patience. Waiting things out and smoothing out your energy levels makes the most sense now.
Gemini
Gemini
Energetic Mars has begun its transit your solar fourth house, dear Gemini, and will continue to animate this area of your chart until November 12th. This sector rules home, heart, and family. What you do with the extra energy available to you now will partially determine whether this is simply a period in which you work more heartily on home projects and are more actively involved with family, or if challenges and conflicts ensue on the home front. Watch for a defensive attitude, as this can needlessly provoke conflict. This can be a good time for entertaining in the home, although at times you could find that your home life is a little too busy. Even so, this can be a wonderful period for getting a lot done in your personal life. Today, a relationship may hit a roadblock or an impasse, but it’s temporary. Avoid taking out frustrations on the innocent! Consider ways to better manage both family or your personal life and partnerships.
Cancer
Cancer
Go-getting, energetic Mars is now moving through your solar third house, dear Cancer, and will continue to do so until November 12th. This brings increased energy, motivation, courage, and initiative to your daily life, communications, and mental pursuits. You may feel especially motivated to make contact, write, speak, and learn during this cycle. Arguments over ideas and opinions could be more frequent now, however, and you should certainly watch for impatience while driving, walking, and getting around. Be careful that you don’t use words as a weapon during this period, although if you need to express your anger in constructive ways, writing about your frustrations in a journal can be especially helpful now. This can be an active and busy time for learning, studies, errand running, and neighborhood involvement. Today, however, Mars forms a square to Saturn, pointing to possible blocks in getting your message across or getting from point A to point B. This can be a reminder to slow down in order to find better ways of getting your work done.
Leo
Leo
Energetic and assertive Mars has left your sign and entered Virgo, dear Leo, where it will continue to transit until November 12th. During this cycle, you can experience a stronger desire for financial independence or you can be especially motivated to pursue a larger income and/or take action on money-making ideas. However, it can also bring impulsive energy to your spending habits, as the desire to accumulate objects can be heightened now. You might also be a little more possessive of people in your life during this cycle. Focus now on building rather than exhausting your resources. Feel the increased courage to earn what you need and deserve. This is generally a good time for finding new ways to boost your feelings of security and comfort. Today, however, Mars forms a square to Saturn, pointing to a temporary block, possibly a creative one. Disagreements about money or sharing tasks can sometimes mask deeper problems.
Virgo
Virgo
Mars has now entered your sign, dear Virgo, where it will transit until November 12th. Over the course of this energetic cycle, you’ll have plenty of chances to assert yourself and seek out what you want from life. Mars is now supplying you with increased personal energy, initiative, courage, motivation, and drive. Angry feelings might also be stimulated during this cycle, and you might want to watch for overly hasty, impulsive, or impatient behavior. Otherwise, you can use this period to heartily pursue personal goals. This can also be a time when support, emotional or material, can more readily come to you, even though you are more independent than you are usually. Today, however, Mars forms a square with Saturn, and while you could be all fired up about pursuing something, others or circumstances are likely standing in your way or they seem to be unsympathetic. Routine domestic tasks can seem harder to take today.
Libra
Libra
Assertive, energetic Mars is now retreating into your privacy sector, dear Libra, and will continue to transit this part of your solar chart until November 12th. This points to a period of reassessing your goals, needs, and desires. It’s not the most decisive or energetic of periods in your life. Instead, you tend to find more comfort in private moments, and require a little more rest than usual. If you don’t recognize this need, you could encounter circumstances that force you to rest more often! For some of you, this can be a quiet or more private time for relationships. It’s an important time for discovering what you truly desire, and which pursuits may not be as worthwhile for you. Today, however, with Mars in a square aspect to Saturn, uncertainty about whether you should or shouldn’t take action on a matter can cause some mental distress, and it’s probably better to wait for a more confident time to move ahead, particularly since others may be unsympathetic or distant temporarily. It can be difficult to find the chance to express yourself just for now.
Scorpio
Scorpio
Energetic and assertive Mars is now moving through your solar eleventh house, dear Scorpio, and will continue its lively transit until November 12th. This points to a sociable period in which you could find yourself in high demand, particularly with friends. For some, however, this can be a time of preferring to take the lead in group settings. More invites could come your way now, and you could be actively collaborating with others in group or team efforts during this period. The tendency to take the lead comes naturally to you now, but leaving your ego at the door will help ensure that relationships with friends and associates run more smoothly. Today, however, Mars in this sector of your chart is challenged by Saturn. Concerns about money, resources, talents, or earnings could surface. Consider ways to strengthen these areas of life. Restructuring, organizing, and budgeting may be in order now.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius
Fiery, energetic Mars is now enlivening your sector of career and reputation, dear Sagittarius, and will continue to do so until November 12th. This is a period in which you may be pumping yourself up professionally, taking the lead and initiative more often, and pursuing your ambitions directly and with vigor, but also with special attention to detail. Sometimes it points to strife on the job or with authority figures, or to challenges with your reputation, but toning down your manner can do wonders to prevent these things from happening. Today, you may feel that you’re left to your own resources. It’s not the best time to take a stand, so try to concentrate on what you’re doing, what makes you happy, and what works for you rather than concerning yourself with what others are or aren’t doing.
Capricorn
Capricorn
Mars, the planet of action and energy, is now energizing your solar ninth house, dear Capricorn, and will continue to do so until November 12th. This is a good, harmonious position for Mars in relation to your own sign. You’ll find it natural to assert yourself and to pursue your desires without too many obstacles standing in your way. You’ll also be braver and more courageous than usual, so that you are especially willing to seek out new adventures and experiences. Today, however, there is a hurdle to jump as Mars forms a challenging aspect with your own ruler, Saturn. Timing might be off as you struggle with whether to go forward with a project or pursue a desire. Feelings of guilt or the need to take care of others can prevent you from doing what you want to do, and while you’re itching to experience new things, a private matter or a self-limiting attitude can keep you on the fence. Slow down, but avoid becoming discouraged by a very temporary block.
Aquarius
Aquarius
Mars, the planet of action and energy, is energizing your solar eighth house until November 12th, dear Aquarius. During this cycle, you are less inclined to act on impulse, as you tend to employ strategy when it comes to moving your plans forward. This can be a time in which power politics can be stimulated in a close one-to-one relationship, and it’s best to try to clear the air as soon as possible if this is the case. Desires run more deeply than usual, or seem a little more complicated. Some of you could be meeting with stronger personalities during this time, and the confrontations that result are learning experiences for you, or meant to draw out your own passions and desires. Today, there can be some tension if you attempt to push something forward that needs more time to develop. What you might feel is a slight from a friend today may simply be a miscommunication.
Pisces
Pisces
Energetic, assertive Mars is now activating your opposite sign and partnership house, dear Pisces, animating close relationships until November 12th. Problems that have been festering have a way of surfacing during this cycle, and seem to demand immediate attention! It can also be a time in which you have more courage to pursue a relationship. Watch that you don’t pass the buck during this cycle – own and acknowledge your role in conflicts or strife that might emerge now. Today can be a little challenging with Mars moving into a challenging position with Saturn. Timing can be off in your interactions – one is hot and the other cold, for example. You could get a sobering reminder of rules or limits, but this also gives you the time to make important edits and adjustments.
On September 17, 2015, Saturn enters Sagittarius after revisiting Scorpio during its annual retrograde. Saturn first entered Sagittarius in December of 2014, but backed all the way back into Scorpio on June 14. When Saturn re-enters Sagittarius in September, he won’t leave again until December of 2017! During this time, with occasional tribulation, he’ll help you answer the all-important question: What do you believe in?
Saturn’s job, whether by current transit or in your birth chart, is to provide enough compression to ensure we confront what isn’t working in our lives. He’ll offer us the discipline to repair it, or the maturity to accept that it’s time to let it go. As a result, we gain a new level of soul growth in direct proportion to our willingness to do the work Saturn demands. As long as we take the responsible approach, we can master Saturn and eventually experience remarkable rewards because of him … in due time.
At first glance, you might think that Saturn and the zodiac sign Sagittarius are polar opposites. Saturn is all about restriction and limitation; he’s the ultimate reality check. But Sagittarius is a sign naturally ruled by exuberant Jupiter and is filled with faith and optimism. Saturn sees the glass as half empty, but Sagittarius reminds us that the glass is also half full. So what happens when this ultra-positive sign becomes mired in the grip of the greatest party pooper in the entire zodiac?
Something incredible.
Oil and water come together
The thing about Saturn and Sagittarius is that they actually do have a few things in common. They are both extremely committed to ethics. Saturn plays by the traditional rule book but Sagittarius plays by whatever he believes at his core is right. Together, Saturn in Sagittarius has an amazing capacity to review current principles. He’ll ensure that a moral review is conducted and that any failure to be honorable is corrected.
We’ll see this happen collectively and personally over the next few years. During this stretch of time you’ll endure a certain kind of pressure to define your moral compass in a certain area of your life (depending on what house Saturn is transiting for you). Ultimately, you can emerge from this transit having built up a solid and enduring belief system relating to that part of your life.
At the same time, with Saturn in Sagittarius there will likely be a cosmic pause that allows us to consider areas of law, race, culture, religion, education, spirituality, and philosophy with greater sobriety. Outmoded principles concerning these areas that are too weak to survive might fall away. In certain cases, that could be a very good thing.
Saturn in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces
If our current beliefs aren’t cutting it, then a test of faith might be more significant. Saturn, the planet of boundaries will square Neptune, the planet that dissolves boundaries on November 26, 2015, June 17, 2016, and again on September 10, 2016. Now that’s the ultimate cosmic oxymoron!
During these times you might lose faith altogether. If this happens, remember that true enlightenment is only possible when you go deeper and create a solid foundation to the divine spirit within. Losing your religion, your dreams and goals, or your faith in humanity can become a catalyst for developing the most grounded and untouchable belief system — one that feels right from deep within your gut and one that no one can ever take away.
Saturn in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries
After all of the Saturn-Neptune fuzziness evaporates, there’s Saturn trine Uranus to look forward to. Expect amazing support from these two planets to help create a foundation for your most innovative, pioneering goals yet! We’ll experience this gorgeous aspect on December 24, 2016, May 19, 2017, and again on November 11, 2017.
This is when you will finally see that Saturn’s initial delays, frustrations and hindrances have only dragged you back to ensure that you planned wisely. Now, you’ll be ready to launch into something great. The key? Just focus and keep aiming.
Your Daily Horoscopes for Thursday, September 17th
Aries
Aries
Mercury stations retrograde today and Jupiter opposes Neptune, dear Aries, and both influences can cast a fog over the day. Watch for mistakes made now that could be rather costly. Dream big, but wait for important launches or finishing touches. Saturn re-enters your solar ninth house today, where it will stay until December 2017. Recent pressures in your intimate relationships and financial life ease. You are entering a period in which you might be questioning some of your long-held beliefs or you might be discovering that you need to firm up your knowledge and skills. This is also a period of greater personal strength due to a stronger connection with reality, a firmer awareness of your priorities, and a better attitude towards meeting your responsibilities. Overall, your life should feel a little more stable. Because you have a more mature grasp of your own capabilities, you project a more responsible, perhaps serious, and self-assured personality to others, even if there are times when you feel a little insecure about your credentials. You may be an authority on a topic and your work/business can involve teaching and sharing your knowledge, which requires more dedication to learning.
Taurus
Taurus
Saturn re-enters the sign of Sagittarius today, dear Taurus, and while it did spend some time in Sagittarius earlier in the year, this time around, it’s there to stay, until December 2017. Fearless dealing with emotional issues can bring rewards during this cycle that asks you to better manage your life, particularly when it comes to financial and emotional dependencies. The goal is to bring these to a healthy or moderate level. This can be a time of learning what and who you truly value. Methods you’ve used to manage stress or people in your life may not be as effective now, or there could be a reshuffling of support systems for some of you. This is a good time for working on a plan to reduce debt and unhealthy dependencies. Today, avoid taking any promises made to heart. You may not have the whole story when it comes to a friendship or goal. Double check all facts and figures. Confusion tends to reign, particularly when it comes to transportation, work, and educational matters.
Gemini
Gemini
While work may have been on the demanding side recently, going forward, it’s likely to become less stressful, dear Gemini. Saturn re-enters the sign opposite yours, where it will transit until December 2017. This is a time for taking more responsibility for your relationships. At times during this cycle you could be experiencing the more unflattering side of others and of yourself through your relationships. You may be learning what you value in your relationships, and difficult areas that you may have glossed over in the past can now demand attention. Responsibilities to partners, the need to compromise, and the realities of the needs of others, become clear during this cycle. If you’re truly better off without a partnership at this time in your life, you’ll solidify that position. Today, with Mercury at a retrograde station and a Jupiter-Neptune aspect challenging you, it can be difficult to see things clearly just for now. While you’re likely to be pulled in many directions today, you’ll be better off if you can take some extra time for breaks. If you need to make a presentation, discuss something important, or win someone’s favor, wait for a day when everyone’s a little clearer and more receptive.
Cancer
Cancer
With Saturn moving into your work and health sector today and visiting there until December 2017, dear Cancer, you’ll be in the position, like it or not, to streamline and structure your daily routines. During this cycle, some of you could land a new position that requires more structure and effort or your existing work begins to demand the same. This is an excellent cycle in which to start new regimens to better your health and well-being, such as regular exercise or more structured and productive use of your time. Organizing your work space is appropriate, and so is re-organizing your daily schedule. In fact, you might be faced with life events that force you to restructure these things, or at least provide you with the motivation to get your act together. Don’t worry too much if your efforts are not yet obvious to others – the effort you exert now can bring great rewards down the road. Perhaps more importantly, you are learning to take better care of yourself, for yourself. Today, however, double check facts and second guess instructions. The day’s energies can be very confusing, and it can be difficult to read situations just for now with Jupiter in opposition to Neptune and Mercury at a retrograde station.
Leo
Leo
Confusion can surround conversations today, dear Leo, so try to avoid taking things said to heart and do your best to keep your wits about you. This is not a good time for making commitments. Saturn moves back into your solar fifth house today, this time for an uninterrupted transit lasting until December 2017. During this cycle, self-expression may not be quite as spontaneous as it typically is, largely because you are taking things a little more seriously. Try not to worry too much about performance to the point that you feel restricted, but do consider ways to bring more structure to your life. There is strong potential for the period ahead to be one of more meaningful and reliable relationships as well as creative productivity. With Saturn, the realist, moving through the house of creative power in your chart, you might initially feel limited by a seeming lack of internal “spark” or “spunk”, dear Leo. As the transit progresses, you will gain a stronger sense of what motivates you, and how to best express yourself creatively. How you entertain yourself, how you have fun, and issues surrounding how you manage your ego are now coming up for “inspection”.
Virgo
Virgo
Today’s Mercury station and Jupiter-Neptune opposition suggest you should make extra effort keeping your wits about you, dear Virgo, particularly with personal possessions and money. Try not to count on being understood just for now. Transportation, mechanics, and communications may be unreliable. Saturn re-enters your sector of home and family today, this time for the long haul – until December 2017. This is a time for firming up your home and family life. Any ongoing difficulties with family members may come to a head during this cycle, and it’s time for working on resolutions. Responsibilities to family and to maintaining your home might be increased. This is a time for building your sense of family, security, and comfort, and this can involve some soul-searching or lessons. Saturn’s transits are about strengthening weak areas of our lives, and your solar fourth house is about your foundations, both material and emotional.
Libra
Libra
You may be swinging from seeing what you want to see, to seeing things in a very negative light today, dear Libra, and neither scenario is realistic. Attempt to find a middle ground. Mercury’s retrograde station in your sign can confuse matters, particularly related to communication and transportation. Be conservative now and enjoy increased peace of mind. With Saturn re-entering your communications sector and transiting it until December 2017, you’ll be discovering which projects and personal interests are truly valuable and attempting to cut out the fluff. You might discover that it’s time to brush up your skills or give more structure to your daily life. During this cycle, you are likely to be more accountable for what you say and what you know, and you could feel some pressure to get things just right. Your interests are likely to change or your focus narrows a little. Some of you will be taking studies more seriously or turning a hobby or interest into a business. You’re leaving behind a cycle in which finances and self-worth were the testing grounds for Saturn, and ideally, weak spots were strengthened.
Scorpio
Scorpio
Saturn left your sign in December 2014 for almost six months before returning to it this summer, dear Scorpio, and today, this transit is complete, not to recur for almost thirty years. While your personality has strengthened as a result of this transit, you have also been quite serious, and now this energy is lifting. You’ve learned a lot about your ability to take care of yourself during this transit. Saturn now re-enters your solar second house, where it transited for some months earlier in the year. This is a time for strengthening weak areas related to money, security, and your own attitude towards earning. Getting organized and learning to accept and market your talents are themes in this next stage of your life, which lasts until December 2017. It’s time to be more conservative with your money, and feel more accomplished in so doing. Look for overlapping or unnecessary expenses and other redundancies, and aim to rid yourself of material clutter. Today, it can be difficult to see things clearly. Keep your wits about you and avoid making solid commitments just for now.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius
Confusing energies abound today, dear Sagittarius, and it’s best to save important decision making for a clearer time in the future. Your ruler, Jupiter, opposite Neptune this week can certainly turn your attention to ideals, goals, and spiritual needs that may be missing in your life. Even so, you are entering a cycle that turns your attention to issues of body and the material world. With Saturn back in your sign, this time for the long haul (until December 2017), it’s time to be firmer with yourself, but not too firm. Moderation is an important keyword for Saturn, and you’ll be learning this firsthand during this cycle. Areas where you’ve been excessive can catch up to you now. This is an important time of reassessments and adjustments, as well as recognition of your limits. It’s not a time to undersell yourself, but it is a period for redefining goals so that they are more realistic and doable. This is about becoming more responsible for your life rather than focusing on what you’ve done wrong.
Capricorn
Capricorn
There can be confusing signals today, dear Capricorn, with your ruler, Saturn, changing signs, a Mercury retrograde station, and a Jupiter-Neptune opposition. It’s not an ideal time for signing contracts, making important commitments, or important new endeavors, particularly related to communications and transportation. Saturn re-enters Sagittarius today, and will transit the sign uninterrupted this time around until December 2017. Saturn sign changes are particularly significant for you. During this cycle, you are likely to be more reflective and contemplative, and at times, you could be focusing a little too much on what you haven’t accomplished rather than what you can accomplish in the future. This is a time for learning about your limits and boundaries, and treating yourself better as a result. You’ll be finding ways to improve mental health. If you need to take more time to yourself, and you very likely do, get that extra rest or emotional space and try not to feel guilty about it.
Aquarius
Aquarius
With a Jupiter-Neptune aspect and a Mercury station clouding our thinking today, dear Aquarius, it’s best not to invest money, energy, or love into things that seem too good to be true. Reflect and dream, but save big moves and decisions for a clearer time. Today, Saturn re-enters your solar eleventh house. Saturn spent some months there earlier in the year, but now is completing its transit that lasts until December 2017. This also means that Saturn moves out of stressful aspect with your sign and out of your career and reputation sector, where it spent quite a bit of time in recent years. During this cycle, you are likely to take your social life a little more seriously. For some, goals and friendships can change, and you could find that you’re more interested in forming long-lasting ties. You might also be more selective with where you put your energies and time, and could possibly decide to cut back on the more frivolous activities in your life in order to focus on your priorities.
Pisces
Pisces
Saturn re-enters your performance and life-plan sector today, dear Pisces, and this time, it will move through this house of your solar chart uninterrupted, until December 2017. You may have had a taste of this energy in the first months of 2015. During this cycle, circumstances could demand more serious thought about your career and life direction. You are reaching a career peak of sorts over the next couple of years, and could be going through a process of self-evaluation in terms of where you stand professionally, your responsibilities, and outward signs of success. Some of you might be receiving recognition and career “rewards” at this time, while others might be feeling the weight of poor decisions made to date. There could be pressure to perform or to know your stuff now. A more realistic approach to achieving your dreams is your goal. Today, however, it can be difficult to see others in a realistic light, and others may not be seeing you clearly as well. Try not to lead others on in order to avoid hurt feelings, but keep in mind as well that today is not ideal for attempting to make clarifications with Mercury at its retrograde station.
This day of the week got it’s name from the god of karma and time, Saturn. This day is obviously associated with the planet Saturn and is our last day of the week. Traditionally Saturdays are great days for protection, banishing a negative situation, and generally a good time to clean up any magical messes that you have been ignoring. Some suggestions for Saturday enchantments would include:
◦Wearing the colors of the day, black and deep purple. Here’s your perfect excuse to be dramatic and witchy. Empower these dramatic pieces of your wardrobe for protection and strength.
◦Burning black candles to absorb negativity and burning purple ones to increase your magical wisdom and boost your spirituality
◦Adding a touch of garden witchery to your Saturday spells by working with the pansy (in black or purple of course), the morning glory flowering vine, or the cypress tree.
◦Carrying an obsidian, hematite, or jet tumbled stone in your pocket to reinforce your personal protection and to ward off bad vibes and sour feelings. You can also add these crystals to a candle spell on a Saturday night to really increase the punch of your spellcasting.
◦Cleaning your house and cleansing it while you are at it. Tap into those obstacle-removing vibes and the positive, concluding energies.
◦Closing up the final day of the bewitching week with a bang by calling on Hecate for protection and guidance.
This week begins with a reality check! Read on to see how…
Monday, August 3: Jupiter in Leo square Saturn in Scorpio
Jupiter will square off with Saturn on Monday, attempting to lighten up Saturn in Scorpio’s intensity. Unfortunately, Jupiter in Leo probably won’t win this battle, but she might help Saturn lighten up just enough for you to deal with an insurance or financial matter less painfully.
Make sense of the present moment — gain the clarity you need now with a Life Cycle Tarot reading.
Tuesday, August 4: Venus Retrograde conjunct Jupiter
Love is the name of the game on Tuesday, as Venus and Jupiter connect in a romantic embrace. Venus is traveling retrograde, so you and someone special might have an opportunity to repeat doing something together that you enjoyed in the past.
Wednesday, August 5: Venus Retrograde square Saturn
Have fun while you can! On Wednesday, Venus will square off with Saturn, throwing a wet blanket on everyone’s love affair.
Thursday, August 6: Mars in Cancer trine Saturn; Mercury conjunct Venus Retrograde; Mercury square Saturn
Then, on Thursday, Mars in Cancer will trine Saturn. You’ll have the ability to use concentrated energy to complete a task at home or to tackle a family problem with incredible shrewdness. Mercury will conjunct Venus and square Saturn, helping you to communicate information tactfully and authoritatively.
Friday, August 7: Mercury conjunct Jupiter; Mercury enters Virgo
On Friday, Mercury will be conjunct Jupiter before entering discerning Virgo. If you can sign a contract or schedule important meetings before 3:00 pm EDT, you’ll have a wonderful edge with that Mercury-Jupiter connection. After Mercury moves into Virgo, your mind will focus more on the problems in life and how to fix them.
Saturday, August 8: Mars enters Leo
Last but not least, on Saturday, Mars will enter Leo where he’ll remain until September 24. You’ll feel extra motivated to live life to the fullest whenever possible. What’s more is that you’ll move whatever mountains you need to in order to make that happen!
Mon. 8/3 Compassionate Pisces Moon softens hearts; after 7:30 PM radical Aries Moon energizes the atmosphere.
Tue. 8/4 Energetic Aries Moon gives go power to any project. Venus cozy with Jupiter means a lucky day for all.

Fri. 8/7 Sensuous Taurus Moon suggests a nature walk or swim. Mercury conjunct Jupiter helps with happy communication, speedy journeys. Mercury into Virgo helps with organizing thoughts and arrangements.
Sat. 8/8 Chatty Gemini Moon makes for good sociality. Mars into Leo expands romantic inclinations.
Your Daily Horoscopes for Saturday, August 1st, Lammas
Aries
Aries
Career, reputation, financial, and intimate matters are all affected by Saturn in your chart right now, dear Aries, and these are areas of your life that may have been tested. Saturn’s direct move today is an empowering thing, but the shift can bring sudden awareness of realities regarding any of these things, and some level of letdown. The trick to managing this time in your life is to tame expectations. Examples could be receiving sobering news about a financial matter, recognizing that money matters are out of order and need to be organized, facing a difficult truth about a relationship, or pressure to perform on the job. While Saturn retrogrades and turns direct every year, this is the final stretch with Saturn in your solar eighth house. Saturn won’t return here for almost thirty years. Until mid-September is an important time for settling your accounts.
Taurus
Taurus
There can be a disappointment this week, possibly peaking today and tomorrow, dear Taurus, when it comes to a relationship, a project that hasn’t taken off, a travel or educational matter, or a communications matter. Partnerships may have been put through the wringer recently, with Saturn finishing up in your partnership zone this summer. Today, Saturn begins moving forward after retrograde motion since March, and you become clearer about a responsibility to someone or a commitment in the coming weeks. This places you in a more empowered position, even if there is a somewhat disheartening reality to deal with now.
Gemini
Gemini
When it comes to a matter ruled by the sixth house, such as work, health, or services, you may be facing a reality now as Saturn turns direct in this sector of your chart, dear Gemini. A difficult choice or problem can hang heavy in the air today and possibly at the back of your mind all week. However, as you move forward, you are likely to have more clarity, particularly regarding your position and abilities. The weeks ahead are strong for organizing your routines, work, and health regimes. This is Saturn’s final stretch in your solar sixth house – Saturn won’t return here for almost thirty years. It’s a strong time for clearing up clutter and firming up your work and daily routines.

There can be a little more serious energy to the day and to some extent, the week, dear Cancer, with Saturn nearing its direct station and then clashing with Jupiter and Venus in the next couple of days. If you have been putting more faith in a person or relationship than they/it deserves, there could be a reality to face now. The untrue and impractical elements of your life or of recent events can emerge now and this week. Definitely, this can lead to some feeling of being let down, but the good news is that you can also find a lot of strength in the fact that you now know where you stand. Clearing up unfinished business is Saturn’s M.O. from now and until mid-September when he leaves your solar fifth house altogether. Saturn won’t return here for almost thirty years.
Leo
Leo
The key to success this week is to find strength in facing reality, dear Leo, rather than feeling discouraged by it. You might consider investing your emotions and faith in something small that is destined to grow. Focusing on what you already have and exercising patience can help bring peace to your life and lead to a stronger sense of mastery – something quite vital to a Leo’s happiness. Difficulties in family relationships may surface today and can be a strong concern all week, but facing certain realities can help you to feel better about being able to manage them. Saturn’s direct station today is a yearly occurrence, and this one marks the final time that it occurs in your solar sector of family, home, and heart, at least not for almost thirty years. From now until September 17th, Saturn is on its final stretch of this area of your chart, and it’s important to close up projects and clear out clutter.
Virgo
Virgo
You could feel as if you are learning a lesson in managing your expectations today, dear Virgo, and in some ways, this can be the case over the next few days. Others tend to be naysayers and not especially sympathetic, or circumstances are such that you face obstacles to your goals. News can be a little disheartening at first, but ultimately strengthening, as knowing the truth is a powerful thing. For some of you, there can be something uncomfortable in, or doubt surrounding, a love relationship. This is an important day for processing recent matters and thinking up a more structured plan, even if part of you is resisting this process. The next several weeks, until mid-September, is the final stretch of Saturn’s transit to your communications sector, making it a good time to firm up your work, routines, habits, and communications.
Libra
Libra
There can be some feeling of letdown experienced this week, dear Libra, as Saturn comes to its yearly direct station. A dream may not look as rosy as it did in the past or a financial matter may need attention. However, you can find tremendous strength in knowing where you stand. As uncomfortable as it may be to face reality in certain areas of your life, particularly when it comes to money, security, family, and close relationships, with some of the uncertainty gone, you can make better plans moving forward. Responsibilities and duties are magnified now. As dull as this sounds, you’re in fact feeling good about taking charge, and you might enjoy formulating some long-term or big plans. This is Saturn’s last stretch transiting your sector of resources. Now until mid-September, taking care of business is important. The focus should be on actions that are responsible and mature.
Scorpio
Scorpio
Managing your emotions might be a bit of a challenge today, dear Scorpio. You may have been see-sawing between belief and skepticism on something, and now learn the truth of the matter, which can be disheartening at first. Saturn was in your sign and put your personality through a series of “tests” from October 2012 to December 2014. It returned for its final transit in June, and will finally move forward in mid-September. In other words, this is its last leg of the journey, and the rewards are becoming clearer. You are becoming stronger and more self-reliant. Saturn is changing direction today in your sign. This is an empowering change, but right now, responsibilities and problems may be magnified in your mind.
Sagittarius
Sagittarius
Today, there can be some feelings of discouragement that ultimately lead to a feeling of strength, dear Sagittarius. You have been facing elements of your past that are resurfacing as truths or realities with Saturn finishing up its several-year transit to your solar twelfth house this summer. These are sometimes uncomfortable to face, but they are truly learning experiences. Knowing your true position can lead to making better plans, and now that Saturn is turning direct, you’ll feel more equipped for taking steps and putting things behind you. This Saturn station occurs every year, but this is the last time it will occur in your solar twelfth house for another twenty-nine years. Saturn will return to your sign in mid-September, and this last stretch before then is excellent for clearing up old business.
Capricorn
Capricorn
A reality that at first feels uncomfortable can surface about a friend or a long-term goal this week, dear Capricorn, and the situation can peak today with Saturn moving towards its direct station. This occurs every year, and this time around, it’s the last direct station while Saturn is in Scorpio and your sector of happiness goals, ideals, group connections, and friendships. Ultimately, truths coming to light will help you to get a better grip on the reality of who is on your side, and who isn’t. For some, this can be about a long-term plan, aspiration, or goal rather than a relationship. You can make better plans knowing what is viable and what isn’t. While serious energy can hang over you as this shift occurs, moving forward, you’re likely to feel stronger, more effective, and clearer. Decisions are hard to make right now, but once made, a sense of relief can arrive. Focus on moving forward, and the best possible way to do so.
Aquarius
Aquarius
Your co-ruler, Saturn, is turning direct today after retrograde motion since March, dear Aquarius. It’s a strong time for organizing and analyzing. Career matters become clearer now and in the coming weeks – it’s easier to formulate goals and motivation is no longer waning. Responsibilities to the outside world are magnified this week as you adjust to the change of direction, and there could be some form of “reality check” to deal with. Ultimately, you’ll be in a stronger position, even if you feel some discouragement initially. While Saturn reaches a direct station every year, this time around it’s doing so for the last time in your career and reputation sector for another twenty-nine years. The Moon continues to tug at your emotions as it transits your sign until this evening.
Pisces
Pisces
Managing expectations is always a tricky thing, and this week can be especially challenging on this level, dear Pisces, peaking today and tomorrow. This is because Saturn is turning direct after retrograde motion since March. This occurs yearly, but this time around is the last of its direct stations in your solar ninth house (for close to thirty years, that is). Reminders that you should be paying attention to the realities of a situation can abound now. While you may have reason to feel discouraged today, if it’s about coming to terms with a truth, then ultimately you’ll feel better off for it. Self-improvement endeavors can be in focus and successful as you go forward. Friendship, educational, legal or travel matters can begin to move forward. The Moon enters your sign this evening, pulling you out of a protective shell and desiring activity as well as emotional stimulation.
On August 2, 2015, Saturn turns direct in Scorpio after having been retrograde for several months. He’ll move through the last bit of Scorpio quickly and re-enter Sagittarius on September 17, 2015. Then, Saturn won’t be back in Scorpio again for about 29 years…
If you have any personal planets or angle in your horoscope in a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) then Saturn in Scorpio has certainly pulled rank on you at some point since late 2012! If used correctly, Saturn in Scorpio can be the ultimate “You do what you have to do” placement. You may have to cut your losses in a certain area of life but you’ll do it knowing that it’s the only way to survive and thrive.
For some, this is a phase where you might need to overcome any fear of your own power. Learn how to use it constructively to transform a situation or let go of it completely if it’s no longer viable. If you don’t, you’ll be controlled by fear. Then, your very worst Saturn in Scorpio nightmare manifests: you’ll be swallowed up by the darkness.
Even if you have no planets in fixed signs, Saturn in Scorpio has a grip somewhere in your world. Whatever house Saturn is transiting through in your chart, if you’re paralyzed in fear then you are very likely in the midst of deep agony. Saturn in Scorpio wants you to pragmatically rise above the fear. Chew up and spit out whatever pain there is. After all, there are still beans to harvest. Even when you’re afraid or exhausted, there’s work to do.
The point is, if you’re still living in “La La Land” in a certain area of your life then when Saturn turns direct you’re about to receive a major cosmic kick in the pants. It will force you to get real. Maturity occurs when you’re successfully living life within certain margins — like it or not. Saturn’s job is to draw the margins. Your job is to figure out how to make them work for, and not against you.

Saturn is the last planet visible to the naked eye. For millennia, it represented the limits of the solar system and came to symbolize time, structure and order. Saturn takes about 29 years to orbit the Sun, spending about two and a half years in each sign of the zodiac.
Saturn is the planet that says “no” but means “yes.” The no comes from Saturn showing us what isn’t working, sometimes in the form of frustrating blockages or delays. But these help us see where we need to put in effort to make concrete changes. Saturn says “yes” as the planet of crystallization that brings energy into matter. Saturn’s presence in a sign of the zodiac shows us where we are likely to meet limits and how to construct something useful.
Serious Saturn in survivalist Scorpio forces us to face the bottom line. Life and death, sex, power and our economic well being can be pushed to the limits during this two-year transit. Concentrating our efforts where they are most needed may require eliminating ideas, activities, objects or individuals that distract us from these essential tasks.
Take account of your desires, even the inappropriate ones. Knowing what you want helps you become a better negotiator in relationships. Being nice is, well, nice but doesn’t touch the depth of emotion associated with Scorpio. Partnerships grow when they are rooted in honesty, especially with ourselves. We can compromise in pursuit of our desires but if we don’t even know what they are, all we’re left with are manipulation and chance.
Getting the most out of our resources is another expression of Saturn in Scorpio. Scarcity could be a collective problem but, ideally, will lead to more efficient systems of production and distribution. Cleaning up toxins in the environment and within our bodies and minds are other healthy expressions of this transit.
How money is handled, especially involving insurance and debt, grows in importance with Saturn in Scorpio. There may be even more abuses in the financial world but that could be what it takes to make some significant reforms. Borrowing for well-defined purposes and with a realistic repayment schedule is an appropriate way to use this cycle.
Sexual repression is a dark side of Saturn in Scorpio. The AIDS epidemic was at a very high level in the early 80s, the last time this transit occurred. Responsiblity for erotic inclinations doesn’t mean that they should be suppressed but rather that we deepen our understanding of them. Tantra, a form of sacred sexuality, teaches us about intimacy that is not possible when we deny this essential part of ourselves.

Discover the cosmos! Each day a different image or photograph of our fascinating universe is featured, along with a brief explanation written by a professional astronomer.
Explanation: Telescopic observers on Earth have been treated to spectacular views of Saturn lately as the ringed planet reached its 2015 opposition on May 23 at 0200 UT. Of course opposition means opposite the Sun in Earth’s sky. So near opposition Saturn is up all night, at its closest and brightest for the year. These sharp images taken within hours of the Sun-Earth-Saturn alignment also show the strong brightening of Saturn’s rings known as the opposition surge or the Seeliger Effect. Directly illuminated, the ring’s icy particles cast no shadows and strongly backscatter sunlight toward planet Earth, creating the dramatic surge in brightness. Saturn currently stands in the sky not far from bright Antares, alpha star of the constellation Scorpius.

The Karmic Tools Weekly Forecast covers the current planetary transits which affect people in different ways and to various degrees of intensity. Take notice when it is a Personal planet (Sun / Moon / Mercury / Venus / Mars) interacting with a Social (Jupiter/Saturn) or Collective planet (Uranus / Neptune/Pluto). And pay extremely close attention when it is a Social planet interacting with a Collective planet because that means something *big* is brewing that will move large groups of people along their evolutionary paths. Tuning in to the energy and rhythm of the planets can serve as a useful *guide* as you move along your Individual Path. It also helps to understand your place within the context of the larger Social & Collective Story. Below, you will find out how these energies tend to manifest, as well as guidance and direction.
*NOTE* There are some days when there are NO CONTACTS (besides the Moon), please note that there are no missing entries, we just list the actual Activations of each week + the day they happen.
Weekly Forecast: May 10 – 16, 2015
5/15 ~ Mars (energy) ~oppose~ Saturn (stability):
This energy is a mixed blessing so watch any extreme swings one way or another. Mars is all about energy, passion and movement and Saturn is all about stability, structure and foundation. When they are opposite each other, there can be a beautiful blend of energy and passion behind solid, productive work that yields long-term benefits. However, if you swing to petulant Mars, “I want my way!” ~ Saturn’s response is, “It will be done the RIGHT way or not at all!” This energy brings lessons either way, usually around anger issues or long-standing upsets. You may feel “held back” although nothing could be further from the truth. The reality is you have to do certain ‘first things first’ and if/when you do things in “order”, success usually follows. If/when you rush and do things without thinking or planning, then mistakes inevitably follow and you have to do things over again. This is also the half-way mark of a 2yr cycle that gives you the opportunity to check in and see how things are progressing and make any necessary adjustments so you are successful at the culmination of the current cycle. (Look to the signs for more specifics.)
This is a very supportive energy for dreaming your world into being! Allow your imagination some latitude to wander and see where it leads. You may be very connected to others and what they are going through. You may have a very spiritual encounter with another; friend, family or lover – only time will tell if it is Neptune playing tricks on you or it is truly a spiritual union.
The last four New Moons — before the one last night — have all occurred under duress, caused by the conflicts associated with unruly planets. Monday’s Taurus New Moon happened just after Mercury and Mars conducted another skirmish while Saturn attempted to add a dour note to Mercury’s harmony of the spheres. There are at least four sour sky tones that can make today’s melodies sound off-key as Juno forms a frictional, 45-degree tie with Chiron (12:56AM), Pallas makes the same kind of abrasive, 45-degree aspect with Mars (4:01PM), Venus contacts Pallas via an off-kilter, 150-degree liaison (8:31PM), and then the Moon in Taurus makes its monthly opposition to Saturn in Scorpio (8:58PM). While this quartet of naysayers is not nearly as contentious as other four-fold discordant aspects on other days, it could interfere with your ability to utilize the potency of the New Moon to take several giant leaps ahead. Neutralizing the apparent obstacles to forward progress are the monthly Moon-Mercury union in Taurus (7:08AM), the Moon forming a supportive, 60-degree sextile with expansive, optimistic Jupiter (9:57AM), and a splendid, research-promoting trine of 120-degrees between Mercury and Pluto in earth signs (10:31AM). Therefore, despite some of the disagreeable sky patterns occurring throughout the day, you should be able to be a winner when it counts the most and when people are depending on your wise judgment. [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]
