Current Moon Phase

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2019

Tommorow the Moon will be in a Waning Gibbous Phase. This is the first phase after the Full Moon occurs. It lasts roughly 7 days with the Moon’s illumination growing smaller each day until the Moon becomes a Last Quarter Moon with a illumination of 50%. The average Moon rise for this phase is between 9am and Midnight depending on the age of the phase. The moon rises later and later each night setting after sunrise in the morning. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2019

Today the Moon will be in a Full Moon phase. During a Full Moon the moon is 100% illuminated as seen from Earth and is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun. The Moon will be visible throughout the night sky rising at sunset in the east and setting with the sunrise the next morning. The point at which a Full Moon occurs can be measured down to a fraction of a second. The time it takes between full moons is known as a Synodic month and is 29.530587981 days long.

August 30th N. H. Current Moon Phase and Planetary Positions

FRIDAY, AUGUST 30, 2019

Today the Moon will be in a New Moon phase. During this phase the Moon is to close to the sun in the sky to be visible. The moon rises and sets with the sun and is not present in the night sky. Because of this the night sky is darker and an excellent time to view other celestial objects. Like the Full Moon, a New Moon happens at a very specific time when the sun and moon have the same ecliptic longitude and it can be measured down to the second it occurs.

I was hoping to find another website that contained all this planetary information but have been unable to. As you will read from the website’s itself the timing is still off unfortunately they do not say whether the clock that is 15-20 off is fast or slow. I have written to them to find out which it is but have not received an answer yet. Please tell me if you still want me to post this information that is probably wrong or not post it until they get the timing right. Thank you!

Please note: We are aware that the time listed below may be off by 15-20 minutes. This is due to a problem with the clock on our hosting company’s web server. We have contacted them several times, but they have yet to fix this issue. We are in the process of moving to a new hosting company, and we appreciate your patience during this time. We apologize sincerely for any inconvenience

August 23rd N.H. Current Moon Phase

FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, 2019

On this day the Moon will be in a Third Quarter phase. Sometimes called a Last Quarter Moon, this phase occurs roughly 3 weeks after the New Moon when the earth is three quarter of the way through it’s orbit around the earth. If you live in the northern hemisphere the Moons left side will be illuminated and the right side dark. For thoughts of you in the southern hemisphere it will be the opposite with the right side illuminated. On the day of the Third Quarter phase the Moon will rise around midnight on the eastern horizon and set in the west around noon the next day. In the days following the Third Quarter Phase the Moon’s illumination will decrees each day until the New Moon.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2019

On this day the Moon will be in a Waning Gibbous Phase. During this phase the Moon can also be seen in the early morning daylight hours on the western horizon.
