Monday – Magical Days Of the Week

Monday – Magical Days Of the Week

Monday is the day of the moon itself, and it’s a day that’s connected to lunar colors like silver, white, or even a pale blue. Metals and gemstones like silver, pearl, opal and moonstone all come into play today.

There are plenty of deities associated with the moon – Thoth and Diana for instance – and herbal correspondences include many members of the mint family. Utilize wintergreen or peppermint, as well as catnip, comfrey, sage and chamomile in your workings.

When it comes to Monday magic, because of that lunar connection, it’s a good time to focus on workings related to childbearing and family life, purity and virginity, healing, wisdom, and intuition. Do a little bit of self exploration and work on developing your intuition – learn to trust your gut. Celebrate birth and life, and make some magic to fix what is broken.

Monday Is A Day of Witchery, Magick and Enchantment

Monday Is A Day of Witchery, Magick and Enchantment

Think for a moment on all of the witchery, magick and enchantments that you have discovered. Don’t be afraid to adjust spells to suit your own specific needs. Any gentle, illusory, and dreamy charms and spells can be enhanced when you work on the day of the week that is dedicated to the moon. Mondays are a fantastic day to boost your psychic abilities and to tune in to your intuition and empathy. It also gives you the opportunity to work with a different lunar phase each and every Monday, which means in one month you could work four different types of moon magicks on Mondays. How’s that for adding to your repertoire? You are going to have mad skills in no time at all.

So light up those lunar scented candles and add a little mystique to your outfit by wearing an enchanting lunar color. Wear your sparkling silver jewelry and maybe add a pair of dangling silver earrings or a pendant shaped like a crescent moon. Create lunar potions and philters; make a dream catcher and give it as a gift to someone you love. Burn some sandalwood or jasmine-scented incense today to inspire the glamour and magick of the moon. Slice up a favorite variety of fruit that is in season for a snack or share it with your love and enjoy his or her lunar and romantic qualities. Brew up a cup of chamomile tea, enchant it with a little moon magick, and relax and get a good night’s sleep.

Most importantly, get outside tonight and watch the moon for a while. What phase is she in? What color was the moon as she rose? Why not start a journal and write down at what location the moon rises and sets for a few seasons? This is a great way to teach you to tune in and to become more aware of the moon and the influence that she pulls into our lives. Try calling on Selene for her magickal assistance, and call Thoth for wisdom and strength. Get to know the Norse Mani and the Latvian Meness. These gods of the moon have plenty to teach, and if you allow their influence to cycle through your life, you’ll receive many blessings. Be imaginative, and create your own personal lunar magick and witchery. Go on….the moonlight becomes you.

The Witches Monday

The Witches Monday

In the word Monday, we can see part of the word Moon. In the romance languages such as Italian or Spanish, this day of the week is called Lunes and clearly relates to the word lunar. On Mondays, a variety of magick may be worked. Because Monday centers on the energies of the Moon, things like dreams, feminine energy, health, success in spiritual pursuits, domestic matters, and things of family origin are especially important this day.

Mondays are best for love magick and anything concerning home or family, thus old saying, Mondays child is fair of face, which seems clearly to relate to the themes of love and health.

Angels of Monday are Gabriel, Arcan, Missabu, and Abuzaha. Arcan is known as the king of the angels of air and the “ruler” of Monday. Abuzaha (Abuzohar) serves Monday, and is very responsive to invocations and ritual magick. Missabu is a ministering angel of Arcan.

Check whether the moon is waning or waxing to determine what your spell will be. During waning moons, do spells to rid yourself of obstacles or for wisdom and protection. During waxing moons do magic for increase of any kind or to draw something into your life.

On Mondays, the best hour to work is moonrise. Get this information from your local newspaper, astrological calendar, or almanac.

Astronomical Fact Not To Forget: Transit of Mercury on May 9, 2016

Transit of Mercury on May 9, 2016

A transit of Mercury – the innermost planet of our solar system – is coming up on May 9, 2016! A transit occurs when Mercury passes directly in front of the sun. At such times, Mercury can been seen through telescopes with solar filters as a small black dot crossing the sun’s face. Mercury will come into view on the sun’s face at 7:12 a.m. EDT (1112 UTC). It’ll make a leisurely journey across the sun’s face, reaching mid-point at approximately 10:47 a.m. EDT (1447 UTC) and finally exiting at 2:42 p.m. EDT (1842 UTC). Translate to your time zone here. The entire 7.5-hour path across the sun will be visible across the U.S. East – with magnification and proper solar filters – while those in the U.S. West can observe the transit in progress after sunrise. Play the video and follow the links below to learn more about the May 9, 2016 transit of Mercury.

How often do transits of Mercury happen?

Although much more common than transits of Venus, transits of Mercury happen only 14 times in the 21st century (2001 to 2100).

Transits of Mercury always occur in either May or November.

The last three were in 1999 (November 15), 2003 (May 7) and 2006 (November 8); the next will be on May 9, 2016, and the next after that will be November 11, 2019.

What part of Earth will see the May 9 transit of Mercury? As shown on the worldwide chart above, the transit will be visible (at least in part) from most of the globe, with the exception of shaded-out portion (Indonesia, far-eastern Asia, Australia and New Zealand). Mercury takes some 7.5 hours to cross the sun’s disk, and this transit of Mercury is entirely visible (given clear skies) from the eastern half of North America, most of South America, Greenland, Iceland, far-western Africa, western and northern Europe, plus the Arctic.

For North America, the transit begins in the early morning hours on May 9. The eastern part of North America sees the start of the transit after sunrise May 9, whereas the western part sees the transit already in progress as the sun rises on May 9.

As for the world’s Eastern Hemisphere – Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia – the transit starts around noon May 9 in the westernmost parts of Africa and Europe, and in the late afternoon May 9 in eastern Asia (China, Mongolia, Thailand). In western Asia and eastern Africa, the transit begins around mid-afternoon May 9.

Equipment needed to watch a Mercury transit. Mercury’s diameter is only 1/158th of that of the sun, as seen from Earth. That’s why eclipse master Fred Espenak recommends using a telescope with a magnification of 50 to 100 times for witnessing the event.

Plus your telescope must be equipped with a safe solar filter to safely watch this transit, or else you risk permanent eye damage. Click here to learn how to view the sun safely

What causes a transit of Mercury?

Only planets that orbit the sun inside of Earth’s orbit – Mercury and Venus – ever transit the sun, as seen from Earth. If Mercury orbited the sun on the same plane that Earth does, there would be three to four transits of Mercury each calendar year.

However, Mercury’s orbital plane in inclined at 7o to the ecliptic (Earth’s orbital plane). That means when Mercury swings in between the Earth and sun at inferior conjunction (see illustration below) every four or so months, Mercury usually sweeps to the north or south of the solar disk. Therefore a transit of Mercury is fairly rare, only happening 13 to 14 times per century.

Each time Mercury circles the sun in its short and swift orbit of 88 Earth-days, Mercury travels north of the ecliptic (Earth’s orbital plane) for about half its orbit, and south of the ecliptic during the other half of its orbit. Twice in its orbit, Mercury crosses the Earth’s orbital plane at points called nodes. When Mercury is traveling from north to south, it’s called a descending node; and when Mercury is traveling south to north, it’s called an ascending node.

Whenever Mercury crosses a node in close vicinity to reaching inferior conjunction, a transit of Mercury is not only possible but inevitable. Mercury crosses its descending node nearly concurrently with Mercury at inferior conjunction on May 9, 2016, to present a rather rare transit of Mercury.

Descending node transits can only happen during the first half of May, and ascending node transits in the first half of November. At other times of the year, Mercury at inferior conjunction would either pass north or south of the sun’s disk.

Dates for transits of Mercury in the 21st century (2001 to 2100). All Mercury transits happen in either May (descending node) or November (ascending node).

May 7, 2003
Nov 8, 2006

Nov 11, 2065
Nov 14, 2078
Nov 7, 2085
May 8, 2095
Nov 10, 2098

November (ascending node) transits happen about twice as often as May (descending node) transits. This is because Mercury has a very eccentric (oblong) orbit whereby Mercury comes a whopping 24 million kilometers (15 million miles) closer to the sun at perihelion (closest point to the sun in its orbit) than at aphelion (farthest point). In May, Mercury is rather close to aphelion, and quite far from the sun, which severely narrows the window of opportunity for a May transit. In November, Mercury swings rather near perihelion, and quite close to the sun, widening the period of time during which a November transit is possible.

Mercury transit cycles. Note that after a May transit, a November transit faithfully comes 3.5 years later (for instance: May 9, 2016 and November 11, 2019). Transits recur on nearly the same date in cycles of 46 years (for instance: May 9, 2016 and May 10, 2062). November transits, which are more common than May transits, occasionally recur in periods of 7 years, and more frequently in periods of 13 and 33 years.

May transits, which are less common than November transits, frequently recur in periods of 13 and/or 33 years. The 46-year cycle represents a combination of 13 and 33 years (13 + 33 = 46).

Seven century catalog of Mercury transits: 1601 CE to 2300 CE

Bottom line: Our solar system’s innermost planet, Mercury passes directly in front of the sun on May 9, 2016. Who will see it, how to watch, equipment needed, transit times.

The Sky This Week: May 9 – May 15

In the dark of the night

The Sky This Week: May 9 – May 15

A New Moon rises, Comet PANSTARRS makes an appearance, and Mercury crosses in front of the Sun.

Monday, May 9
Mercury passes directly between the Sun and Earth today for the first time since November 8, 2006. The innermost planet’s dark disk will transit the Sun’s face for 7.5 hours. Observers across most of the world (excluding Australia, New Zealand, eastern Asia, and the adjacent oceans) can view at least some of the transit. This is a morning event for most North Americans. Mercury first touches the solar disk at 7:12 a.m. EDT, lies closest to the Sun’s center at 10:57 a.m., and leaves our star’s limb at 2:39 p.m. You’ll need a telescope equipped with a safe, full-aperture solar filter to see this event. For complete observing details, see “How to view Mercury’s rare transit” in the May issue of Astronomy.

Tuesday, May 10
The Big Dipper’s familiar shape lies nearly overhead on May evenings. The spring sky’s finest binocular double star marks the bend of the Dipper’s handle. Mizar shines at 2nd magnitude, some six times brighter than its 4th-magnitude companion, Alcor. Even though these two are not physically related, they make a fine sight through binoculars. (People with good eyesight often can split the pair without optical aid.) A small telescope reveals Mizar itself as double — and these components do orbit each other.

Wednesday, May 11
Another comet in the growing throng of such objects discovered by the Pan-STARRS telescope in Hawaii makes its appearance it May’s morning sky. Comet PANSTARRS (C/2013 X1) currently glows between 7th and 8th magnitude in northeastern Aquarius. (This morning, it lies 2° northeast of 4th-magnitude Phi [f] Aquarii.) From most of the United States, you’ll need a clear, flat eastern horizon to spot the comet through a telescope just before dawn breaks.

Thursday, May 12
Brilliant Jupiter appears high in the south as darkness falls and remains on display until 3 a.m. local daylight time. The giant planet shines at magnitude –2.2 — brighter than any other point of light in the night sky — against the backdrop of southern Leo the Lion. Jupiter appears equally dazzling through a telescope, which reveals a wealth of atmospheric detail on a disk that spans 40″. Look carefully tonight and you should see a black dot crossing the cloud tops. This is the shadow of Ganymede, Jupiter’s (and the solar system’s) largest moon. This shadow transit takes place from 11:40 p.m. to 2:51 a.m. EDT.

Friday, May 13
First Quarter Moon occurs at 1:02 p.m. EDT. The half-lit orb rises just after noon local daylight time, appears highest in the south shortly before sunset, and sets around 2 a.m. The Moon spends this evening among the background stars of southwestern Leo the Lion, less than 5° from that constellation’s brightest star, Regulus.

Saturday, May 14
The Moon moves approximately 13° eastward relative to the starry background every 24 hours, and its motion carries it near Jupiter this evening. From North America, the two appear within 5° of each other all night. They will be in conjunction at 6 a.m. EDT tomorrow morning, when our satellite passes 2° due south of the planet.

Sunday, May 15
About 45 minutes after Mars rises, Saturn pokes above the southeastern horizon. Although the ringed planet pales in comparison to its neighbor, its yellow color contrasts nicely with the Red Planet’s hue. Throw in the ruddy glow of nearby Antares, the 1st-magnitude luminary of Scorpius, and you have a colorful trio of bright objects to follow throughout the late evening and morning hours. As you might guess, Saturn’s proximity to Mars means it also will reach opposition and peak visibility soon — in fact, it reaches this orbital highlight June 3. The view of Saturn through a telescope never fails to impress. This week, the world appears 18″ across and sports a beautiful ring system that spans 42″ and tilts 26° to our line of sight.

Happy Mother’s Day To All The Mothers Of The WOTC! Give Your Mother A Hug & Kiss Today & Tell Her You Love Her Now & Forever!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers all over the world! We are taking the day off to spend times with our families. But we couldn’t do that without telling all our mothers here, how much they are loved and appreciated.

Our Mothers Kept A Garden

Ours Mothers kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave our life it’s start.
She turned us to the sunshine
and encouraged us to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem…
And when the winds and rain came,
she protected us enough-
But not too much because she knew
We’d need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught us right from wrong-
Markers for our pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
We are our Mothers’ garden.
We are her legacy-
And we hope today she feels the love
reflected back from each of us.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Your Ancient Symbol Card for May 7th is Venus

Your Ancient Symbol Card for Today

Venus

Venus represents those qualities we commonly associate with the female/yin persona. Venus traits include fertility and the drive to create, unblemished beauty, love, passion, and togetherness. The occurrence of Venus denotes the dominating presence or need of the qualities listed above. While often very subtle, Venetian influences may have a negative impact unless they are balanced with an influence that can temper the drive of Venus.

As a daily card, Venus suggest you should allow your more feminine traits to guide your actions through this period. Subtlety, efforts to bring people together and allowing your creativity to run free are likely to serve you well at this time. However, like Mars, the powers of Venus are very strong and can do more damage than good if not balanced by other influences.

Your Daily Witches Rune for May 7th is The Blank Rune

Witches Rune for the Day

The Blank Rune

Meaning: This is a rune of difficulty and negative influences will rule your life for a time, but as all difficulties are a learning experience it will lead to improved personal perspective and progress on your life’s path. Always consult the surrounding runes with this stone. If it lies with a positive stone, it indicates that the pain of this experience will lead to a beneficial change in circumstances

Your Crowley Thoth Tarot Card for May 7th is The Chariot

Your Crowley Thoth Tarot Card for Today

The Chariot

The Chariot is the representation of Victory and the personality traits required to attain victory. The Chariot indicates self-awareness and control. Courage—the ability to overcome fear and confront the unknown head on–is a primary ingredient of any victorious campaign and is denoted by the Chariot. So too is force of will. Often success is as much the product of will power and a refusal to surrender as it is anything else. The Chariot also represents the healthy personality of someone who believes in themselves; someone who can take control of the situation and bring events to a positive end. His successes come in competition with others.

Your Daily Tarot Card for May 7th is The World

Your Daily Tarot Card for Today

The World

Like The Sun, The World brings good blessings to your set of personal cards. The World appears where all is in balance. It allows you to act effectively not only as an individual but as a member of a group too. The World promises contentment, fulfillment and completeness to those under its influence. It doesn’t guarantee there will not be moments of strife or discord in your life, but it does indicate that your trials and tribulations will be overcome; that ultimately you will know inner-peace and contentment. The World suggests you have found or will find your place in our Universe—that place where all is as it should be.

When Temperance or The Sun are among your personal cards, the influence of The World may be increased. Having The Hermit in your personal cards may diminish the influence of The World.

Mother’s Day by the Signs

Mother’s Day by the Signs

Though several celestial bodies influence the maternal instinct and one’s urge to nurture — the Moon and Ceres, for example — your mother’s Sun Sign reveals her essential identity, the way she expresses herself, her most basic drives, hopes and wishes. Look, then, to the Sun Sign of the maternal figures in your life to find out how to create the perfect Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Aries
You may feel tempted to pamper your mom on Mother’s Day or to give soothing, relaxing gifts like spa treatments or scented candles. But this Fire Sign mama’s going to be bored silly by all that bubbly, flowery stuff! Your Aries mother possesses boundless get-up-and-go — and she loves a good dare. She actually finds conflict exciting, which would explain some of your tiffs growing up. So don’t bother indulging her senses or offering her escape. Instead, challenge her to a day of power-shopping or, if she’s athletic, to an off-road bike ride. You’ll be surprised by her energy!

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Your active Aries mother could really benefit from a gym membership. Present her with a gift certificate and a bundle of tiger lilies, which, with their vibrant spray of colors and dots, are like the Aries of the flower world.

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Taurus
Your affectionate and protective Taurus mom has always worked hard to provide for you and to protect you; she needs a day off, and a Mother’s Day feast seems a pretty good excuse! Second to her love for her family is her love for rich, sumptuous food. A little sensory indulgence and your undivided attention should be enough to satisfy your mom’s penchant for pleasure. Take your time, order coffee and desserts and, if she tries to beat you to the bill, insist that the date’s on you.

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: If you can get your hands on a bouquet of tropical hibiscus, your Taurus mom will simply love them. Their soft, billowy petals appeal to her tactile nature. She’s also sentimental and will adore just about anything you give her — especially if it’s attractively wrapped.

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Gemini
Your quick-witted Gemini mother’s always on to you and your schemes, so don’t bother trying to surprise her with fancy Mother’s Day plans unless you truly think you can outsmart her! Playful and chatty, your Air Sign mother would enjoy a cocktail party with all of her closest pals. But if you decide to make a toast to dear old mom, don’t go getting all sentimental on her. She doesn’t take herself or her emotions too seriously. Keep the mood fun and light!

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: If she’s the typical Gemini, your mother would love a bouquet of orchids, especially brightly colored ones. As far as gifts go, a Gemini can never have too many books! Find out if who her favorite author is and hunt around for an autographed copy or first edition.

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Cancer
If your mom’s a Cancer, she’s probably the archetypal mother figure: Affectionate, loyal, nurturing, protective and emotionally available. On this special day, express to her how much she’s always meant to you; she thrives on your love and on knowing that she’s done her motherly duties well, after all. Make her dinner for a change and bring out all the old photo albums. Your generous time and care mixed with nostalgia and emotional conversation make for the ultimate Mother’s Day for a Cancer.

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Your sentimental Water Sign mother will simply weep if you give her a lightweight silver bracelet of silhouette charms with her children’s names engraved upon them. Also, instead of plain flowers, bring her a bowl filled with floating water lilies.

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Leo
Your Leo mom possesses a fierce, abiding pride in her family, so the perfect Mother’s Day for this Lioness would be a gathering of her, well, pride. Bring together all her offspring and any other relatives you can contact, but be sure to make her the indisputable center of attention — while she’s a superstar without even trying, she still craves that spotlight. Regale the group with stories of all the wonderful things she’s done for the family. For kicks, rent a karaoke machine and toss Mom the mike!

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Your Leo Mom perks up when handed a couple of sunflower blossoms — they’re big, bright and showy, just like her! Also, she cherishes the thought and effort of a card made by your very own hands. It reminds her of your drawings that she used to hang on the fridge.

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Virgo
If your mom’s a Virgo, she probably cleans the house to relax, right? There’s something almost Zen-like about vacuuming the living room or trimming the hedges; the rhythm soothes her, not to mention the feeling she gets from bringing order to her immediate environment. Since shifts in her daily routine discomfort this modest mother, don’t throw a big surprise Mother’s Day party for her. She doesn’t like a fuss made on her behalf! Instead, take her out to a fine, well-appointed restaurant for lunch and offer her a neat bouquet of narcissus. And don’t be embarrassed if she reaches across the table to wipe that salad dressing off your chin!

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Your Virgo mom will appreciate anything timesaving. So if you’re thinking smaller, go for a clean, new day planner. If you’re shooting for the *Stars* this year, buy her a new timesaving appliance, like that dishwasher she’s been wanting or a self-cleaning oven.

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Libra
Your sweetheart of a mom could double as a United Nations diplomat, the way she always ironed out your conflicts and soothed your fears. Her calm, even nature hid the truth: She spoiled you rotten! Take advantage of this yearly opportunity to spoil her right back. Your Libra mother dreams of being pampered, of being treated like absolute royalty, so treat her to a long, luxurious visit to a day spa. Pull out all the stops: We’re talking massage, manicure, pedicure, facial, mud bath and bodywrap.

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Your mom’s a sentimental, romantic sap at heart, and she’d be so touched to receive roses from her beloved offspring. And though she likes luxury, she’s also a sucker for a heartfelt, homemade card.

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Scorpio
You and your Scorpio mom have always confided in one another. She’s more than just your mom; she’s your best friend, your teacher, your role model and your guardian angel all rolled up into one! This Mother’s Day is the perfect time to make that clear to her. Honor her with a quiet, cozy dinner with only the closest family members in attendance. Talking about old times — about how actions and decisions have made her feel, how the past has influenced her present — will make her feel appreciated and respected for the complex, multifaceted woman she is.

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Your Scorpio mom’s nonconformist attitude likely extends to her taste in flora. So, rather than the usual carnations, opt for a spiky, oddly shaped cactus or a mysterious, alluring orchid; she respects a plant with an inherent element of danger!

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Sagittarius
To honor your Sagittarian mom this Mother’s Day, nothing beats a weekend getaway. If you’ve got the time and the resources, go for a long drive or on an antiques run through small towns that are off the beaten path. The time you can spend together exploring the world around you will show your adventurous Sag mom that you really appreciate her energy and courage. If you don’t get a chance to travel, arrange a lively get-together with family and some of your mom’s many friends. She’ll jump at the chance to mingle and flirt with the crowd, showing off her smarts and humor.

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Your Sagittarius mother adores strong, heady perfumes; seek out something based in the oil of hyssop. If she’s a traveler, surprise her with a portable CD player and a few discs by her favorite musician — music will help to wile away the hours on long flights!

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Capricorn
Your Capricorn mother takes the responsibilities of her role as your parent very seriously. She can sometimes play the martyr, doing for you kids before she ever does for herself. This Mother’s Day, pay tribute to her dedication by taking her to a restaurant she’s always really wanted to visit but felt was too pricey, even as a splurge. Realize that, to her, status is important; just knowing that you understand that will touch this hard-working lady’s heart more tenderly than any old homemade card.

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Though mushy and sentimental when it counts, your Capricorn mom really appreciates a little extravagance — especially when it involves jewelry. A simple onyx ring or delicate tennis bracelet would suit her conservative but sophisticated tastes.

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Aquarius
If your mother is an Aquarius, she probably has a large circle of eccentric friends of whom she is very proud. She also involves herself in the world, extending her nurturing instinct outward. While her mothering style may be more global than most — and while she may have always seemed a bit different from your friends’ parents — she’s devoted and has always encouraged your independence. Now, to celebrate her unique and amazing soul, take her out for a lively dinner with you and some of her closest friends in attendance. The companionship and attention will make her day!

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: Though she’s an Air Sign, your Aquarius mom appreciates being grounded in reality. That said, she loves strange gifts, heartfelt surprises and anything that will enrich her soul and keep her keen mind centered. Give her a membership to a yoga school, and sign yourself up as well!

Mother’s Day by the Signs: Pisces
Your good-hearted Pisces mama lives in a world all her own — and that’s the way she likes it! Fantasy and creativity are her lifeblood and on this special day, you should indulge her desire to daydream. Take her out to the theatre or to the ballet, anywhere in which reality is suspended for a time, allowing her to express her childlike innocence and curiosity. She’ll appreciate your understanding of her ethereal nature and you will get a glimpse of your mother truly enjoying herself.

Ideal Mother’s Day Gift: The real world can sometimes be too much for this dreamy lady, so give her something calming and soothing that will provide her a bit of blessed escape. An aromatherapy diffuser and a combination of essential oils such as lavender and jasmine will definitely do the trick.

Get A Jump On Tomorrow…..

Your Horoscopes for Sunday, May 8th, Mother’s Day

Aries

Aries Horoscope
Aries

Jupiter is moving towards a direct station, dear Aries, and this is happening in your work and health sector. Confidence and motivation are rebuilding for pursuing health and work goals, as well as for improving your habits and routines. While Mars is still retrograde, and for that matter, so is Mercury, this change of direction is useful for improving your outlook. You are less inclined to simply worry about the details and more inclined to roll up your sleeves and take care of them. Inner restlessness can be tamed by a change of routine, a mini adventure, or the pursuit of further knowledge. Work matters pick up speed. Motivation to pursue or step up health and wellness programs increases. There can be returning interest in, or good news about, learning projects, travel plans, or educational endeavors, although these may need further attention or review. Today, the Moon in your communications sector all day keeps you connected and busy, although your attention may often be quite divided.

Taurus

Taurus

Slowly but surely, more clarity is coming to important areas of your life with Jupiter about to turn direct after several months of retrograde motion, dear Taurus. Creative blocks are likely to lift, and romance moves forward. In fact, the months ahead are excellent for pursuing your passions. You are experiencing less fear and more joy in matters of love and dating, or with your hobbies, creations, and friendships. This yearly direct turn is typically strong for intimate relationships and financial support. This time around, Mars is retrograde in your Jupiter-ruled sector for another few weeks, so that the benefits are not likely to be quite so obvious for the time being. However, increasing confidence that you can handle things is with you. Today, the Moon is in a comfortable zone of your chart and encourages you to enjoy a slower pace.

Gemini

Gemini

Jupiter, the Great Benefic, is coming to the end of its retrograde period and begins its forward journey in direct motion tomorrow morning, dear Gemini. This shift points to a positive turning of the corner, particularly related to family, home, and personal matters. Your home life becomes happier, warmer, and more supportive. You regain enthusiasm for projects you may have let go around the house, and for some of you, a family relationship can bud or strengthen. Your motivation to get back on track is returning. Slowly but surely, more clarity is coming to your longer-term goals and projects. Typically this yearly change in direction has a strong effect on partnerships and close relationships, as these are Jupiter-ruled in your chart. However, retrograde Mars in this sector can point to more review or backstepping for a few weeks before you really start to feel the boost in confidence about your connections. Today, the Moon is in your sign all day. Emotions are in strong focus. It can be very easy to get a rise out of you now, and you’re more visible than you have been.

Cancer

Cancer

Jupiter is about to end its retrograde motion, dear Cancer, and this can point to increasing confidence levels, particularly about long-term plans. It’s also a strong time for acting with more faith. Your style of communication, as well as your confidence in your ability to express yourself and be understood, improves, and this will only get better as the weeks go by. There can be more clarity when it comes to schooling and communications in general. There is more natural and spontaneous conversation and sharing of daily events. As well, your head clears a little in terms of your more practical goals. Today and over the next couple of weeks, you’ll begin to see clear improvements to work and health matters. However, because Mars is still retrograde in your Jupiter-ruled sector for a few more weeks, work and health matters may still need some attention and review for a while longer. The Moon is in your soul sector all day, encouraging you to get into better touch with your inner world.

Leo

Leo

Jupiter is moving towards a direct station, dear Leo, after several months of retrograde motion. You’re likely to feel that you’re in a better position to take charge, and your confidence increases, when it comes to your business, financial, and practical affairs. There can be new and improved motivation levels for money-making prospects. You are more inclined to pursue your desires, make important purchases, and say yes to new developments on the job or with business. Joie de vivre improves considerably now and in the coming weeks. While this yearly event is typically strong for creative and romantic confidence, with Mars still retrograde in your Jupiter-ruled creative sector for a few more weeks, this influence may not be as clearly felt, although you may notice more optimism in these areas. More clarity and purposefulness are likely in your love life, creative projects, or children’s lives in small doses and will be raring to go later in the summer.

Virgo

Virgo Symbol/Glyph
Virgo

Today and over the next couple of weeks, you’ll begin to see clear improvements to your mood, outlook, and family life, dear Virgo. Stalled projects or relationships begin to “unstick” and move forward. Your faith that things will work out if left to run their course also increases. This is due to Jupiter turning direct after months of retrograde motion. Jupiter is in your sign, and with Jupiter moving direct, until the end of this transit (September), the liberating benefits of this influence are more obvious and measurable. Your confidence in yourself and others increases, and so does your popularity. While you typically enjoy focusing on details, today you’re seeing matters from a broader perspective. More clarity comes to family relations, domestic matters, and personal plans. You can be feeling more hopeful about family projects and matters, as Jupiter rules your sector of home and family. However, Mars is still retrograde in this sector for a while longer, and there can still be some backlog. The Moon is in Gemini all day, turning your strong attention to work, reputation, and long-term or career goals. Not all is likely to run as planned, but adjusting your expectations can help you to see more clearly.

Libra

Libra Glyph-Symbol
Libra

Jupiter’s direct motion early tomorrow can help with motivation levels, dear Libra. While Mercury and Mars remain retrograde, Jupiter’s yearly direct turn occurs now, and, slowly but surely, you’ll feel more hopeful and enterprising. You are nevertheless in a development stage as Jupiter finishes up in your privacy sector until September, when this happy planet enters your own sign. The need for some privacy and down time is natural now as you prepare for more outgoing and visible times. Jupiter’s direct motion now certainly helps you to let go of resentment and difficult problems of the past. More clarity and purposefulness may come to your studies and communications, as Jupiter rules your solar third house. However, with Mars retrograde here for a while longer, there can still be some need to look back. Today’s Moon in your adventure sector all day helps to lift your spirits, although there can be some ups and downs as you struggle a little with expectations. Learning to live in the moment is helpful now.

Scorpio

Scorpio Symbol Glyph
Scorpio

You’ll be approaching life with more spirit and faith today and in coming weeks, dear Scorpio, with Jupiter turning direct after months of retrograde motion. This yearly event tends to improve your outlook and prospects when it comes to money and possessions, although with Mars retrograde in this sector, there can be more review to do. Because Jupiter is in your solar eleventh house this year, more clarity comes to friendships, causes, plans, group associations, and long-term goals. As these areas of life clear up, you gain more confidence about where you stand and about moving forward. Courage is with you for reaching out – you are less likely to second-guess yourself and more likely to connect spontaneously. This shift doesn’t occur all at once, but you should definitely be feeling as if you are turning a corner. As these areas of life clear up, you gain more confidence about where you stand and about moving forward.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius Glyph Symbol
Sagittarius

Thanks to Jupiter’s direct motion after spending several months retrograde, today and in the coming weeks, professional matters and personal plans gain more clarity, unblock, and move forward, dear Sagittarius. Although it can take a bit of time to get back on track, you are likely to see gradual improvements in these areas. Motivation to pursue a particular course or path, and possibly a business venture, increases considerably, as events this week have you feeling that you’ve turned a corner. This yearly event tends to have more impact on you than others because Jupiter is your ruler. You are more naturally outgoing in the coming months. This will be more obvious once retrograde Mars moves out of your sign at the end of May. The Moon is in your partnership sector all day, and while you may need to do a balancing act in order to keep everything running smoothly, this is a generally good time for relationships.

Capricorn

Capricorn Symbol/Glyph
Capricorn

With Jupiter moving direct after months of retrograde motion, today and over the next couple of weeks, you are likely to see some improvements to your travel or educational plans, belief system, and your own faith or outlook, dear Capricorn. These matters are gradually gaining clarity. Your confidence in your ability to put frustrating elements of your past behind you is also on the increase. Your confidence in your powers of perception and intuition improves. You can experience an increased ability to surrender to the unknown – to let go and have faith that things will fall into place – with Jupiter turning direct. However, with Mars retrograde in your solar twelfth house a while longer, you’ll still be doing some processing and reviewing past matters – and are likely to be on the fence about certain issues. The Moon is in your work and health sector all day, stimulating a desire to get your affairs into order. There can be some moodiness as you adjust plans or expectations, but it’s generally a good time for sorting, organizing, and working on details.

Aquarius

Aquarius

Jupiter is stationing as it is about to turn direct, dear Aquarius. This shift helps to boost your confidence that you can get things done and make an impact, particularly related to your finances and intimate relationships. This is also a time for feeling more able to put a bad habit behind you or to make a positive lifestyle change. You’ll become clearer about what you want as you move forward. Because Jupiter rules your friendship and causes sector, this yearly direct turn of Jupiter typically helps to remove blocks in friendships and with long-term goals. However, you have some more “work” to do in these areas with Mars retrograde in your Jupiter-ruled sector for a few more weeks. Today, the Moon transits your creativity sector, awakening a desire to play, perform, and share. There may be some challenges in friendships today if expectations are not realistic, but overall it’s a good time to loosen up and express yourself.

Pisces

Pisces

With Jupiter approaching its yearly direct station, dear Pisces, you can have a sense that some things are turning a corner. Mercury and Mars are still retrograde, and this suggests that it’s still important to take things slowly and to get things sorted before pushing things ahead. However, Jupiter’s direct turn can boost your confidence and bring more clarity to partnerships and close relationships. There will be a few matters to iron out before everything is running up to par again, but you are certainly feeling more hopeful and spirited. This yearly event is typically very helpful for renewing your confidence about pursuing career and business goals, but with retrograde Mars in the sector that rules these things for a few more weeks, this influence may not seem as obvious. Today’s Moon transits your domestic sector, stimulating a desire to do a bit of cocooning and to pay more attention to home and family.
