Defending our beliefs sounds like an admirable activity, but things might quickly grow out of hand. Even if our intentions are honorable, our impatience with others could prompt us to speak with a combative edge. Cerebral Mercury opposes forceful Mars today, tempting us to engage in a battle of wits. But our words may sound aggressive, especially if we’re in denial about our feelings since the intense Scorpio Moon can drive our emotions deeper.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

You tend to express what’s on your mind without hesitation, but you need to be extra careful today before opening your mouth or you may face unpleasant consequences. You might have so much to say about a particular topic that it comes across as if you’ve been suppressing it for a while. However, you haven’t necessarily been holding back; it’s just that you’re ready to throw caution to the wind now. Thankfully, simply considering the ramifications of your words and your actions could save you from an uncomfortable situation.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

As much as you might want to compromise today, you can still be pretty stubborn when it comes down to something that matters. You may act in a diplomatic manner, but you could annoy someone if you try to gloss over the difficulties without answering the tough questions. Decide what is more important now — your ego or your peace of mind. Once you make your choice, your next move will be obvious.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

When push comes to shove, you cleverly start to plan your escape route. You don’t necessarily enjoy direct confrontation unless it is done in the spirit of mutual respect. However, there may be an irrepressible emotional issue that ripples to the surface today. Whether or not it’s a smart idea to pursue resolution doesn’t seem to matter because you’re ready to rumble. Don’t be the victim of circumstance; use your powers of self-restraint to avoid an unnecessary meltdown. Sometimes the best offense is to just walk away.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

You need to pay attention to your thoughts because what you don’t say can be a source of trouble. Your inner voice is attempting to convince you to communicate a significant message to someone at work. You may come very close to opening a can of worms, leaving you with a real mess to clean up. On the other hand, if you say nothing, your hurt could turn to anger and resentment now, which isn’t any better. Seek the elusive middle path for the best possible results.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

Your thoughts are quite loud today — maybe even too noisy for your own good. You can irritate others if you don’t let them complete their sentences before you respond to what they haven’t yet said. They might even falsely assume that you’re not interested in sharing the spotlight. From your point of view, it’s just a matter of expediency. You want to take the fastest route to the finish line. Paradoxically, if you slow down and listen now, you will have a real shot at finishing first.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You can execute nearly any mental maneuvers like a skilled general today. But be careful about coming out with all guns blazing because revealing too much aggression has a funny way of backfiring. Your key planet Mercury opposes warrior Mars now so it’s wise to rely on your intellect rather than direct action. Fortunately, your sharp verbal and analytical skills will serve you well as long as you don’t lose your temper. Cool your jets and think twice before you speak once.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Although your friends and associates may be extremely nice to you, something is still bothering you enough to trigger an emotional response. Thankfully, you probably will exhibit enough wisdom to keep your negative feelings to yourself. Instead, dissipate the emotional energy by working it off doing chores and buzzing around like a busy bee. Meanwhile, you still might feel angry, even if it seems inappropriate. Moderate your reaction and say as little as possible until you have things back in perspective. Better safe than sorry now when it comes to sharing your heart.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You are drawn into the mesmerizing mysteries of your own imagination today. Anything beyond your five senses is a captivating attraction, luring you down a metaphorical rabbit hole. However, you may be seeking hidden meanings where there just aren’t any, and your frustration can make you cranky. Even if you feel a bit paranoid now, don’t blame anyone else for the images arising from your subconscious. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Your thoughts are zipping around today, possibly moving so fast that you can’t even finish one idea before you jump to the next one. Others may criticize you for your sloppy thinking, but their negativity only irritates you since you were hoping for their support. Instead of posturing to defend your ideas, use the feedback you receive to help sharpen your perceptions and improve your plans. There is a distinct advantage to being a team player now rather than trying to prove you can do everything on your own.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You want to bring a serious thought out into the open, but you fear there will be serious fallout from what you have to say. You might have been hurt emotionally and it’s still difficult to express your pain. You may be mad at someone, but you don’t relish hurting their feelings, too. Naturally, you think through the conversation beforehand so your message will be both clear and fair. The only problem is that once you begin to talk, you quickly go off script. Relax; everything will be alright if you speak from your heart and not your head.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

You may feel as if your energy is all backed up like a sewage system in a commercial for a 24-hour emergency plumber. You make the call, but the plumber’s phone number has been disconnected. Thankfully, your current situation is not nearly as bad as it seems now. However, your panicky reactions could be a large part of the problem. Even if this seems like a weird time, it’s best not to do anything too drastic. Trusting your intuition is more helpful in the long run than jumping to an erroneous conclusion that just makes matters worse.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

There’s no reason to play the role of a victim today. If reality is giving you a hard time, simply acknowledge your part in the current drama. The truth is that the present circumstances are unfolding with your participation and in some unknown way according to your plan. Even if you feel overwhelmed, remember you can methodically navigate your way through these crazy times as long as you don’t expect everything to change overnight.

Your Daily Horoscopes for Tuesday, April 15th

A standoff in a relationship may require us to revisit the past before leaving it behind. An argumentative Mercury-Pluto square complicates balancing our need for independence with our desire for intimacy. We try to reestablish harmony as the socially astute Libra Moon forms an uncomfortable alignment with loving Venus just prior to the Full Moon Eclipse at 3:42 am EDT. Feelings intensify when the Moon shifts into passionate Scorpio at 12:19 pm.

Aries Horoscope

(Mar 21 – Apr 19)

Your impulsive nature is even more reactive than ever today. The Libra Full Moon Eclipse electrifies your 7th House of Relationships, pulling you out of your comfort zone as you attempt to keep peace with your partner. Although it’s easy to say that the next time you will think before you act, it’s going to take consistent effort to follow through on your good intentions. Nevertheless, tempering your sense of immediacy has a calming effect now on everyone involved.

Taurus Horoscope

(Apr 20 – May 20)

Today’s top priority is to find a comfortable middle ground between being selfish and taking care of others. Your sweet nature inspires you to act in a selfless manner today as the Libra Full Moon Eclipse polarizes your 6th House of Service. Thankfully, you also know how important it is to fulfill your own needs. Avoid getting swept up in a cause unless it is an issue that is close to your heart. Following your moral compass guides you to give back generously in ways that really count.

Gemini Horoscope

(May 21 – Jun 20)

Although you may be willing to go along with the group’s plans now, you still must make time to have a meaningful interaction that involves just you and one special person. Today’s Libra Full Moon is eclipsed in your 5th House of Self-Expression, prompting you to say what’s on your mind. Naturally, it’s fun to hang out with your friends, but don’t let the possibility of transient pleasure be a distraction from the tougher issues you need to address. Establish your priorities and initiate a serious discussion with the one you love.

Cancer Horoscope

(Jun 21 – Jul 22)

You are easily annoyed if professional obligations keep you from spending time with your family now. The Libra Full Moon Eclipse emphasizes your 4th House of Emotional Security, reminding you of the contrast between the life you live at home and the one you experience out in the world. However, it’s liberating once you realize that you don’t have to make a choice. You just need to balance these two aspects of your life the best you can without turning frustration into resentment. Oddly enough, a shift in your attitude may be all it takes to make everyone happy.

Leo Horoscope

(Jul 23 – Aug 22)

You may have plenty of expectations about where a current friendship can take you. However, now that the Libra Full Moon Eclipse shakes up your 3rd House of Information, your plans might not reach fruition unless you’re willing to discuss your concerns. Express your emotions without blaming anyone else or you could get sidetracked by an unnecessary conflict that sidesteps the real issue. Facing your fears isn’t so scary if you keep the lines of communication open.

Virgo Horoscope

(Aug 23 – Sep 22)

You might think that your intentions are obvious to others and that you are truly sharing your innermost feelings now; however, you still remain an enigma to those around you. The Libra Full Moon Eclipse lands in your 2nd House of Values, requiring you to look within yourself to uncover deeply rooted beliefs that block your expression. Bring what’s most important to you out into the open today or things may not turn out the way you wish. Your willingness to be transparent helps everyone involved gain more clarity.

Libra Horoscope

(Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Finding the harmony that you wish to have in your personal relationships is elusive now. Today’s Lunar Eclipse occurs in your sign, indicating that you or someone very close to you may be dealing with unexpressed emotions that stand in the way of intimacy. Holding back what really needs to be said only makes matters worse. But shifting the focus by accusing another person of wrongdoing won’t help either. Taking the high road by sharing your fears first enables you to find solutions by looking ahead rather than searching for causes in the past.

Scorpio Horoscope

(Oct 23 – Nov 21)

Sometimes it’s impossible for you to keep cool when your emotions heat up. However, other times you can feel so agitated that you turn to ice in order to prevent the situation from boiling over. Today’s Libra Full Moon Eclipse rattles your 12th House of Secrets, challenging you to engage with those around you without overwhelming them with your intensity. Thankfully, following your regular routine allows you to channel your nervous energy into less volatile activities. Throwing yourself into your work might be enough to take the edge off.

Sagittarius Horoscope

(Nov 22 – Dec 21)

You may be a hopeless romantic searching for love, but instead you only find playful pals as today’s Libra Full Moon Eclipse triggers your 11th House of Social Networking and your 5th House of Romance. Although there is surely nothing wrong with the camaraderie of good friendship, it isn’t the same as the more intimate relationship you want now. Don’t get discouraged and go silent. Keeping your heart open can ultimately attract the type of soul connection you seek.

Capricorn Horoscope

(Dec 22 – Jan 19)

You are in high demand on the job today, but this professional popularity might place pressure on the home front as the Libra Full Moon Eclipse stresses your 10th House of Career. Don’t try to cover your insecurities by shifting into overdrive if you are unsure you can fulfill all your responsibilities. Even if putting in more hours at work seems logical, it can exhaust you — and you still may not complete your assignments. Instead, establish a sustainable pace now so you have more time to spend with those you love.

Aquarius Horoscope

(Jan 20 – Feb 18)

You could be treading on unstable ground today as you attempt to keep a previously scheduled trip on track. You might even worry about travel plans falling apart now that the Libra Full Moon Eclipse overstimulates your 9th House of Faraway Places. But don’t let your irrational fears impact your current decisions. Even if you’re ready to just pack your bags and go, consider all your options before picking one path and following it off into the sunset.

Pisces Horoscope

(Feb 19 – Mar 20)

Staring down your deepest fears might not be your idea of fun, but intense emotional issues appear in a variety of forms now. The Libra Full Moon Eclipse falls in your 8th House of Deep Sharing, indicating a possible struggle with an intimate partner. However, one of the benefits of interacting with someone you love is discovering previously hidden parts of yourself. Shining your light of awareness into the shadows can reveal buried treasure if you have the courage to delve into the unknown.

Blood moon: Sky gazers mesmerized as red hue lights up night sky

Blood moon: Sky gazers mesmerized as red hue lights up night sky

By Faith Karimi and Paul Vercammen, CNN

Los Angeles (CNN) — Sky gazers caught a glimpse of the “blood moon” crossing the Earth’s shadow Tuesday in all its splendor.

The moon took on a reddish hue as it appeared in different phases between 2 and 4:30 a.m. ET.

In North and South America, where the blood moon was most prominent, observers pointed at the spectacle with binoculars, telescopes and cellphones.

Depending on time zones, it started late Monday night or in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Showers and clouds rendered it a bust in some cities, including Atlanta.

In Los Angeles, the chance to view the total lunar eclipse lured thousands to the Griffith Observatory. Families spread out blankets on the grass to take in views from dozens of telescopes set up like a stand of small trees.

Cameras clicked while watchers cheered and pointed at the blushing moon.

“It’s energizing. Look around. Everybody is here to see something rare and live,” said Gene Ireland, who teaches astronomy to middle school students.

Ireland encouraged those who reached the hilltop observatory grounds to peek through his 12-inch Dobsonian reflector telescope.

“Everyone is always looking down at their phones, their iPads,” he said. “We want them looking up. Looking up, you see a whole different world. Getting away from the cities and traffic, and the sky is just beautiful.”

‘Blood moons’

In a total lunar eclipse, the full moon turns a coppery red as it passes into Earth’s shadow. During the process, the moon’s bright glow dims, taking on a red hue because of shimmers of sunlight and sunsets seeping through the Earth’s atmosphere.

Dust and sulfur dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere can affect the size of the shadow. The moon has to be full for the total lunar eclipse to occur.

As more of the moon emerges from the shadow, its red tint fades as it gets lighter and transitions to its normal silver color. The entire reddening process takes about an hour.

Left out

In Tuesday’s spectacle, clouds hid the view from half of the United States, but cities such as Dallas, Denver and Los Angeles had optimal, front-row seats.

“Woke up in just enough time to see half of the blood moon,” tweeted LaTara Hammers of Columbia, Missouri. “It’s so cool how the universe works.”

South and North American residents watched the entire spectacle, while observers in the Western Pacific caught the second half of the event. Central Asia and some parts of Europe and Africa didn’t see much — the moon was setting in most of those continents during the eclipse.

“You know what’s even weirder than the ‘blood moon’? The entire solar system and how amazing it perpetually is always while we barely notice,” Johnny Argent tweeted.

‘A chance arrangement of gravity’

Ed Krupp, director of the observatory, described it as a “typical copper red” total lunar eclipse.

Though rare, it’s the sky “conspiring into a special event” that helps draw crowds, he said.

“The fact that there are four lunar successions coming this year and next … is unusual,” Krupp said. “But it’s not the kind of thing astronomers get worked up about. It doesn’t really mean anything. It’s a chance arrangement of gravity and the motions of objects in the solar system, primarily the Earth and moon.”

Unlike solar eclipses, lunar eclipses are safe to view with the naked eye and don’t require special filters.

The rare sight and was virtually unheard of a few centuries ago.

Before the 20th century, there was a 300-year period when there were no blood moons, said Fred Espenak, a NASA eclipse expert.

“The most unique thing about the 2014-2015 tetrad is that all of them are visible for all or parts of the USA,” he said.

Three more chances

If you missed it Tuesday, there will be more opportunities.

North America will see a blood moon four times — known as a tetrad — between now and September of next year. In addition to Tuesday, it will make another appearance on October 8 of this year, and April 4 and September 28 of next year.

Miss those, and you’ll have to wait until 2032.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for Tuesday, April 15th

Ho-hum, just another ordinary day surviving on Spaceship Earth, correct? No way. As mentioned in this calendar during the past three days, a build-up of celestial tensions is playing itself out and human souls are caught in the crossfire between heavenly aspirations and hellish skirmishes a la Dante’s Inferno. The large-scale assault on humanity from Monday is still palpable as the Full Moon (activating 26 degrees of Aries and Libra at 12:43AM) takes place. Just four minutes later, the Full Moon morphs into a Total Lunar Eclipse — heightening this month’s solar-lunar crescendo for good or ill. In some circles, this Full Moon each year is related to Shamballa — the supposed, mythical Shangri-La of Eastern legends where the Will of God is known. However, is this actually myth or a reality that most human beings simply cannot see, imagine or intuit due to the over-materialization of our species over the millennia? Philosophy aside for the moment, this Full Moon also occurs very close to the largest asteroid Ceres as the Moon embraces this planetary body in a conjunction at 12:32AM. In your individual or group meditative work, send out your healing thoughts and prayers to humanity as well as the animal, plant, and mineral kingdoms that humanity ought to be serving and protecting. The Full Moon moment (12:43AM) also begins an 8+ hour void twilight zone that lasts until 9:21AM when the lunar orb shifts its allegiance from cardinal, airy Libra to fixed, watery Scorpio. During the void time-span, Ceres forms a supportive, 60-degree rapport with Pallas (2:07AM) — possibly enhancing your overall productivity and problem-solving skills. Later on, focus attention on improving your talents in a favorite art or craft as the Sun makes a 45-degree link to Venus (1:39PM). Accentuate peaceful communications while Mercury is locked into a dicey contra-parallel with Mars (5:22PM). [Note to readers: All times are calculated for Pacific Daylight Time. Be sure to adjust all times according to your own local time so the alignments noted above will be exact for your location.]

A Quick Note…….

There are lots of questions in the back and the question button keeps lighting up. Which means there are more questions coming in. I ask that you please have patience. Just as soon as I get through with the daily postings, I will start answering your questions. I just didn’t want you to think I was ignoring you because I am not and never will.

So just hang with me a little bit, please!

Current Moon Phase for April 15th – Full Moon

Full Moon

(waning/100% of Full)

A veil of self-absorption is lifted and suddenly you gain access to an unbiased view of others. This is a rare moment when you can see yourself objectively and become aware of whether or not what you want in your heart is actually beginning to manifest in your life. Traditionally, the Full Moon phase stirs emotion, and this is because when you “see” what is happening, you may become upset if you’re experiencing the “same ole, same ole” — rather than the things you would like. If the Full Moon phase is a disappointment, on the next New Moon it’s time to take creative action in the direction of your dreams.

Celebrating Other Spirituality 365 Days A Year – Tellus Mater

The Italian Deity Tellus Mater–mother of the earth–was honored on this day. She was a very early fertility deity (later associated with Jupiter) who watched over marriage, the procreation of children and the fruitfulness of the soil. Her festival was managed by the pontifices and the Vestal Virgins, at which a pregnant cow was sacrificed to ensure plenty throughout the year. In more modern times, this day is traditionally devoted to prayer for the continued health of our environment.

More positively, the fast-growing willow is an emblem of Artemis (the Greek equivalent of the Roman Diana) as the divine helper of women in childbirth, while as the source of salicylic acid, willow bark alleviates many complaints.

Wishing Everyone A Very Beautiful & Stress Free Tuesday!

Sorry I am running so late, business before pleasure (unfortunately). Since today is April 15th, Tax Day, I couldn’t resist the above graphic or the poem below. You know what they say, “there is one in every crowd.” Guess what, I am that one, lol!

I am hoping everyone has a very terrific day. For those of you who wait till the last minute to do your taxes, take your time and for goodness sake’s don’t make a mistake.  Now for the poem, which sort of reflects the way I feel about taxes, lol!

Love ya!

Tax his land, tax his bed,
Tax the table at which he’s fed.
Tax his tractor, tax his mule,
Teach him taxes are the rule.

Tax his cow, tax his goat,
Tax his pants, tax his coat.
Tax his ties, tax his shirt,
Tax his work, tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco, tax his drink.
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his cigars, tax his beers,
If he cries, then tax his tears.

Tax his car, tax his gas,
Find other ways to tax his a**.
Tax all he has, then let him know
That you won’t be done ’till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Tax him some more.
Tax him ’till he’s good and sore.
Then tax his coffin, tax his grave.
Tax the sod in which he’s laid.

Put these words upon his tomb,
“Taxes drove me to my doom.
“When he’s gone, do not relax.
It’s time to apply the inheritance tax

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’ for April 14th

‘THINK on THESE THINGS’
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler

Have you considered the effect your presence may have on people around you? Do they need you? The answer is yes. We are somewhat selfish with our presence at times. We want to withdraw and think our own thoughts and read quietly rather than entertaining someone or just listening to them. But we never really know how much they need us, not to perform good deeds for their good, but only to be company to share a happening of the day.

Perhaps within their minds we can quiet some restlessness, assure them that they are needed or give them a feeling of tranquility. To many, life is no simple matter, and to hear them out may be the remedy.

It has been said by a very wise man that if you never make a mistake you’re not doing anything.

It is a relief to know that every day, without fail, we come in contact with people who put such confidence in us that we strive ever harder to never fail. Such people build human beings – and there is no job more worthy, or more creative.

Building character and confidence in fellow human beings is a delicate task….for no two people respond in the same way. Challenges may be the way to boost up some individuals, while others may need encouragement and praise to guide them on the way. But, oh, how human we all are, having the need for accomplishment….for attention….for approval.

And how great the responsibility for leaders who must have the wisdom to inspire….the integrity to trust….the heart to understand. The race is hard for leader and follower; for each must understand the other – and there must be compassion for the slow, courage for the weak, and appreciation for the loyal. To follow one must be secure; to lead one must be very wise.

It should be the practice of all of us that when we hear something complimentary about someone to tell them. It is so true that man does not live by bread alone, and to be recognized in having something that rated approval is a very great reward.

Nothing so builds character in children than to let them know someone believes they have a fine potential. That feeling that “someone believes in me” can be the very thing that will anchor their faith deep in hope for humanity.

To be able to see the good acts of others renders service to ourselves. Swiss theologian John Casper Lavater once said, “He is incapable of a truly good actions who finds not a pleasure in contemplating the good actions of others.”

Appreciation for the achievement of others is akin to sunshine – we simply can’t help it shine on other people without feeling the glow ourselves.”

Elder’s Meditation of the Day April 14

“The base of all things is love, respect.”

–Vickie Downey, TEWA/Tesuque Pueblo

The greatest weapon of any Spiritual Warrior is love. Love will change minds; love will forgive; love will let go; love will cause good luck; love will heal; love will cry; love will get rid of resentments; love will overcome fear. Love loves love. Any human who is loving will be guaranteed respect. Respect loves love. We need to love and respect ourselves.

Grandmother, Grandfather, today, lead me on the path of love.

April 14 – Daily Feast

April 14 – Daily Feast

Great strength exists in the smallest things. The spider’s web is so exquisitely formed, a fragile gossamer remnant. But it is stronger in proportion to size and weight than the finest steel. The hummingbird’s wings send out impulses strong enough to resemble the throb of a tiny high speed engine – but early on, it was thought that because of the way its wings were constructed it could never fly. Love can be a mere glance, di ka nv to di, a brief word, a silent touch. But it reaches past time and space and mere existence. Prayer, short, deep – a word from the depth of heart and spirit can work miracles and change a whole world.

~ There is something that whispers to me….to listen to offers of peace. ~

The Daily OM for April 14th – Where the Soul Is

Where the Soul Is
Finding the Place You Belong

by Madisyn Taylor

There will likely be times in your life when your soul evolves more quickly than your circumstances.

There will likely be times in your life when your soul evolves more quickly than your circumstances. Your subconscious mind may be ready to move forward long before you recognize that you are destined to embrace a new way of life. Your soul intuitively understands that changing habitats can be a vital part of the growth process and that there may be one part of you that is eager to move to another home, another state, or another plane of existence. But the ties that bind you to your current mode of being can make moving into this next stage of your life more challenging than it has to be. If you find it difficult to move on, consider that just as people in your life may come and go, your role in others’ lives may also be temporary. And many of the conditions that at first seemed favorable served you for a short time. When you are ready to match your situation to your soul, you will find that you feel a new sense of harmony and increasingly connected to the ebb and flow of the universe.

Moving on can be defined in numerous ways. Your forward momentum may take you from your current locale to a place you instinctively know will be more nurturing, comfortable, and spiritually enriching. Once you arrive, your misgivings will vanish, and you will know that you have found a sanctuary. Similarly, subtle changes in your values, goals, or emotional needs can motivate you to distance yourself from one group of people in order to reassociate yourself with individuals that are better able to support you. For example, this could mean moving away from your birth family in order to find your energetic or spiritual family. The route you need to travel may not always be clear; you may feel inspired to change yet be unsure as to why or how. Clarity may come in the form of a question if you are willing to seriously ask yourself where your soul is trying to take you.

In a way, moving from one point to another when you feel strongly driven to do so is a way of bringing your spiritual and earthly energies together. It is a two-step process that involves not only letting go but also reconnecting. You will know you have found your destination, physical or otherwise, when you feel in your heart that you have been reborn into a life that is just the right shape, size, and composition.
