Weekly Horoscope Sunday, October 11 to Saturday, October 17, 2020

All Signs

This is not an ordinary year. The last time Saturn and Pluto lined up in Capricorn was 500 years ago in 1518. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn was during the American Revolution. The last time Mars was retrograde in Aries was 32 years ago in 1988. Currently, retrograde Mars is sowing seeds of havoc, worry and doubt from Sept. to mid Nov. However, when Mars stops being retrograde in Nov., things will improve. When Saturn leaves Capricorn in Dec., things will improve. When Mars is past its “shadow” in early January, things will improve. This is what we need to know! Until then, remember the wisdom of Abraham Lincoln: “The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.”

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Four signs have the worst of it this year (everyone has the worst of it!) You are one of them. Initially, when your ruler Mars entered your sign, this was great! (Mars is in your sign every two years for six weeks.) But this year, Mars is here for six months! In one way, this gives you energy, drive and confidence! And now for the small print. When Mars is retrograde, the very opposite occurs. You have doubt, worry and question things. Your energy will be hard to control. You might lash out at others in anger and then feel lacklustre and depressed. Relations with partners and authority figures will be testing. Tune in next week to find out — will John leave Marsha? And is Marsha’s baby his?

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

All this energy in Capricorn is tough for many signs but for you, it’s weirdly supportive because it’s happening in your fellow Earth Sign. Primarily, you feel the fallout from everything else happening to everyone around you. However, Mars is “hiding” in your chart for this six-month window, which is a tad uncomfortable. This creates frustration and self-denial. It definitely makes it hard for you to get credit for what you do. It also makes you give the wrong impression at times, which you find mortifying. Your best bet is to work alone as much as possible. Fortunately, issues related to home and family are supportive; plus, partners are on board. Be the voice of reason in the confusion around you.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This continues to be a playful time! Whether it’s sports, social occasions, fun with your kids or just good times – you are making things work for you! Bravo! Of course, nothing is perfect, which is why you might be at odds with a friend or a group this week. Very likely, these arguments will relate to disputes about shared property or shared responsibilities. Whenever you try to solve this problem – you meet with obstacles from someone. Yikes! Fortunately, Venus is in your House of Communications right now and this will sweeten your words and make you charming and reasonable with others. Which, of course you are!

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are the four signs that are having extra challenges this year. You have been determined to achieve your goals, which is why you are focused and ambitious. (Although lately, that ambition has been wavering.) The biggest hurdle you face is dealing with partners and close friends. At times, it’s wonderful; at times, it’s horrible. Things are blowing hot and cold. This is because while Saturn and Pluto oppose you, lucky Jupiter is there as well, softening everything and at times, breaking through with laughter and delight. Avoid power struggles with parents and family members this week. You don’t need this. (Nobody does.)

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

The demands on you every day are substantial because you are busy with errands, appointments, increased reading, writing and studying, plus conversations with siblings and relatives – and more! Plus, you have to meet the demands of your everyday world. Family discussions and home repairs are likely. Despite disputes that might be health-related or related to your job, you will be charming because Venus is in your sign. (A blessing.) Actually, this is a good time to buy wardrobe items for yourself. Fortunately, Venus softens your words and takes the edge off your irritation with others. (Even in bad times, good things can happen.)

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You have money on your mind as well as assets and possessions. Because this is your focus, this will be where you have difficulties dealing with others. Whether it’s shared responsibilities or shared ownership, there will be glitches and challenges. This week, expect disputes about who is responsible for what or who owes somebody or who owns something. It might involve your kids – their care and education? It might also involve sports or a vacation or a social occasion? The placement of Mercury will keep you fast talking and fast-moving. Don’t let arguments with others ruin your life (and theirs). Find that olive branch. (Check under your bed.)

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Four signs have it extra tough this year, and you are one of them. It’s true. For six months, Mars is opposite Libra, while all this heavy-duty stuff takes place in Capricorn, which is a 90 degrees relationship to Sun. Not good! (Well, not easy.) I’m not going to say the good thing about banging your head against the wall is it feels so much better when you stop. (Oops I just did.) What you have to keep in mind this week is that any challenges that you have with others are probably power struggles. Is it that important to have the last word? (Of course, it is.) Is it that important to be in charge? (It feels good.) As I’ve said before, you can be right – or you can be in the relationship.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This week you are best served working alone or behind the scenes. It’s also a very good time for you to define goals about what you want for your new year ahead. When you have goals, it makes future decision-making much easier! (“No, I’m not going to Fiji. In fact, I’m never going to Fiji.”) See how easy that is? Be patient with people you meet because this is where you will encounter some snags, which are really a battle of egos. You must remember that you are powerful, strong-willed and scary when you’re upset. (You don’t think you are – but others do.) Be nice! And remember the password for when things are tough: “Dark chocolate, now!”

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

This week, relations with friends and groups are challenging. It might come down to, “Who’s in charge?” “Who’s on first?” You might also have challenges with kids or a romantic partner. What are you fighting about? Or is it a power struggle that is subtle but it makes you grind your teeth at night? Remember that optimism and a positive frame of mind are food for your soul. More than any other sign, you thrive on optimistic hopes for your future. Ben Franklin said, “Trouble knocked at the door but hearing laughter – hurried away.” It’s also important to get physical activity outside every day. What you want overhead is sky!

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

This year has been life-changing because all the big stuff has been taking place in Capricorn. Pluto has been in your sign since 2008. (First time in your life.) Saturn has been in your sign since 2009, (first or second time in your life). Jupiter has been in your sign all year. Well, in Dec. 2020, both Jupiter and Saturn will leave Capricorn. Lucky Jupiter will then enter your House of Earnings! (Yay!) Pluto will stay in your sign until 2024, then leave, never return again in your life. Them’s the facts! Meanwhile, Mars, which is normally in Aries for six weeks, is in Aries for six months! This is challenging, especially from Sept. to Nov. Robert Schuller said, “Tough times never last, but tough people do.” It’s hard to see the picture when you’re inside the frame.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You need to get away from all this! Unfortunately, it’s not easy to travel. Nevertheless, what you want is adventure and an exciting distraction! Perhaps you can create this? It simply requires an inventive mind, something you have in abundance. (Hey, nowadays, a person can have an adventure just stepping outside their front door!) However, your challenge will be to avoid arguments about politics, religion and racial issues because these are passionate, important matters, which you care about because you want to make the world a better place. Instead of focusing on differences, look at what you have in common and start from there. Everyone wants to be happy.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Money squabbles and worries might take place this week. You might be at odds with someone in discussions about shared property, inheritances or insurance issues. You might also be at odds with a group or a member of a group who disagrees with how a certain amount of money or funding should be allocated. Step back and try to see the bigger picture. Perhaps you can heed the advice of Billy Connolly? “Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? He’s a mile away and you’ve got his shoes!” There is nothing wrong with a little levity when things get tense. Fortunately, issues related to your job and your health look positive.

Weekly Horoscope Sunday, October 4 Through Saturday, October 10, 2020

All Signs

“Honey, I’m home!” Mercury retrograde is back! Actually, this week it is slowing down before it goes retrograde next Tuesday. Nevertheless, because it is slowing down, avoid purchasing “Mercury-related items” like cars, trucks, bikes, computers, cell phones and printers. This week, silly mistakes will occur more than usual; and we will hear from people we haven’t heard from in ages. But all is not lost. Mercury retrograde helps us to finish old business. It’s the perfect time to reassess things and refine our approach to something. Oh yeah – it’s not all bad. What’s all bad? The fact that three slices of pepperoni pizza are 1100 calories! (And that’s not peanuts and forget about dry roasted.)

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Partnerships and close relationships are still your main focus. Keep an eye on bills, inheritances and insurance issues because something surprising or out of the blue might impact these areas on Wednesday. By Friday, power struggles with an authority figure are almost unavoidable. Grrr. Don’t push your luck because the harder you push, the more you will create opposition to you. Plus, don’t do anything underhanded – that will backfire. Fortunately, by Saturday, surprising news about your health, or a pet, or something related to your job will please you! Nice way to end this week!

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

You’re still keen to get better organized and work efficiently. More power to you! Midweek, someone might throw you a curveball (probably a close friend, partner or spouse). It could be a fun surprise – or not. By the end of the week, something going on behind the scenes might upset you or turn into a power struggle. However, very likely, you will be quiet about it even though you feel quietly anxious within you. Try to let this go. You don’t need this! And hey – life is short (and fat). By the weekend, a surprise invitation will please you. Something unexpected related to sports, social outings or your kids will occur. Admittedly, it might also be an accident-prone time for your kids, so be alert.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

This continues to be a lighthearted and playful week! However, expect a few surprises Tuesday/Wednesday. Computer glitches, misplaced paperwork, unexpected news about a staff member, something unusual to do with your health, or a pet, or your job might occur. This could be why a power struggle with a friend or a group takes place on Thursday/Friday? Don’t make a big deal about this because something could trip you up and backfire! Use your high energy to get work done instead of arousing opposition to you. Fortunately, by the weekend, something unexpected will impact home and family. You might buy something unusual for your home? An old acquaintance might visit? Hmmm.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Home and family continue to be your focus, which is why you’re happy to cocoon at home. You might interact with a parent more than usual. Be vigilant with kids midweek to avoid an accident. Keep your eyes peeled! However, a surprise invitation might please you? By the end of the week, a power struggle with a parent or someone in position of authority might occur. Things could get nasty so don’t push your luck. (Do not be ruthless or underhanded because then things will backfire.) Keep your cool. By the weekend, a fun and unexpected event might occur? It could be a short trip, exciting news, or an encounter with siblings or relatives that you did not expect? It could be fun and enlightening!

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This continues to be a fast-paced, busy time! You have a full agenda and you’re keen to express your opinions to others. Midweek, something unexpected might impact home and family. Something unusual might be introduced into your home or a family member might have surprising news? Towards the end of the week, power struggles, especially about politics, religion or racial issues might take place. Don’t take the bait! Steer clear of all this because you don’t need this angst. Instead, get ready for a pleasant surprise by Friday/Saturday that might be a gift of money? A boost to your earnings? A clever, moneymaking idea? Ka-ching!

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Money is on your mind right now. In addition, you’re thinking about your values, which is a good thing. (It’s important to know what is important.) This is great week to buy wardrobe goodies for yourself. Be careful on Wednesday because something unusual and unexpected might occur. It could be fun news or a surprise. However, it could also be an accident, so pay attention to everything you say and do. On Friday, power struggles about shared property, insurance issues or debt could arise. They could be nasty. Do not pull a fast one. By Saturday, something fun and unexpected will make your day! It could entail travel or meeting someone unusual. Whatever it is, it will expand your world and be stimulating!

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

With the Sun in your sign, you are still empowered! This is why you attract people and favourable situations to you. (Make the most of this.) On Wednesday, something unusual might affect your earnings or your possessions. Keep your eyes open so your possessions are not lost, stolen or damaged. On the positive side, money might come to you or you might have a clever moneymaking idea. Yeah! A power struggle with a partner or close friend by the end of the week will test your patience. Try to distance yourself from this because it will only create a vibe you don’t like. (You need harmony in your surroundings.) A pleasant surprise on Saturday will change your day and make you feel happy. That’s nice.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

You’re still keeping a low profile because your year is ending and your birthday will soon arrive. Enjoy this time out. Nevertheless, brace yourself for a surprise on Wednesday. You might encounter someone you least expect to see, especially from your past. Or your schedule might go haywire? Power struggles at work or related to your health (or even a pet) might occur at the end of the week. Be careful, because if you come on too strong, you will regret it. (It’s a tricky situation. Don’t throw your weight around.) On Saturday, you are surprised to hear from someone you like – someone creative or artistic. Possibly it’s a group? Whatever the case, it will turn your crank!

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

You continue to be popular and yes, everyone wants you on their team. This is a good week to think about your goals and how you can make some of your dreams come true. You might feel unsettled about something on Wednesday because things aren’t turning out the way you thought. You might have to regroup? Avoid some kind of ego battle with your kids or with a romantic partner on Friday. (It could be a quarrel about choice of vacations or what to do in a social situation. Or it could be flat out power struggle with kids.) Don’t do anything you will regret later. The good news is that on Saturday, a parent, boss, teacher or even a member of the police might do something that pleases you. It’s also a surprise! (What might that be?)

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You continue to look good to everyone because the Sun is still at the top of your chart casting you in a flattering spotlight. (We like this.) Since you look so competent and capable – make your pitch! Ask for what you want. Timing is everything. A friend or a member of a group might do something that surprises you on Wednesday. (This could be interesting.) However, be careful because power struggles at home or with a family member are likely towards the end of the week. Don’t insist on getting your way because this will create further conflict and nasty confrontations. Stay chill! On Saturday, an unexpected chance to travel might drop in your lap. Or you might hear from someone from afar – a pleasant surprise indeed!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

You’re still keen to travel or do something different because you’re hungry for stimulation. Well, this might happen because on Wednesday, something unexpected related to parents, bosses or authority figures will catch you off guard. (Let’s hope it’s a nice surprise.) Unfortunately, some kind of power struggle with siblings, relatives or neighbours might take place on Thursday/Friday. Be careful driving. This energy can engage others in a negative way. Stay cool. This could morph into a pleasant surprise on Saturday when an unexpected gift or money comes your way. Perhaps someone will do you a favour or let you use something they own? (It’s nice to receive a perk.)

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

This continues to be a pretty intense week for you; fortunately, fair Venus is opposite your sign and this modifies any emotions that might escalate to be over-the-top. Wednesday is a mildly accident-prone day so be careful. Pay attention to everything you say and do. However, at the same time, unexpected travel plans or a surprise related to politics, religion or racial issues might catch you off guard. Could this be what leads to a power struggle about money or possessions on Thursday/ Friday? (This could be nasty.) Fortunately, by Saturday you will enjoy unexpected, fun times with a close friend. Sweet!

October 1, 2020 Full Moon Details

The Full Moon for this month will occur early in the month on Thursday, October 1st. The New Moon will happen later in October on Friday, October 16th.

The Harvest Moon and Hunter’s Moon

Humans through the ages have always found autumn’s full moons to be creepy, and not without good reason. But this year the moon will be extra exciting. The month starts with the Harvest Moon on October 1st and a second Blue Moon on Halloween, October 31st. The Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that falls closest to the Autumnal Equinox on September 22nd. In most years the September Full Moon lands closest but this is one of the rare years that the October Full Moon falls very early in the month and closest to the Equinox. This makes the first Full Moon the Harvest Moon and the second the Full Hunter’s Moon..
