Venus in Cancer

Tuesday, August 7, 6:43 am PDT, 9:43 am EDT

Amorous Venus finally leaves jittery Gemini and settles into the cozy and comforting sign of Cancer. Closeness and safety count more than stimulation now as we seek a sense of security in our relationships. A desire to recreate pleasures from the past is possible as we seek to escape the uncertainties of the future. Yet these vulnerable feelings are also tender and touching, enriching romance with care that’s meant to nourish loved ones and help them feel at home.

Daily Cosmic Calendar for August 7

Inspirations are flying fast due to Pallas and Jupiter in league via a supportive, 60-degree tie (2:22AM PDT). A major switch occurs at 6:44AM PDT when Venus leaves Gemini — where it has been since April 3 — for nurturing Cancer. This can reinforce many of the interests of the fourth sign of the zodiac — cooking, baking, gardening, sprucing up your residence, reminiscing about the past, and connecting with relatives.  The Moon in Aries forms its monthly opposition to Saturn in Libra (1:05PM PDT) — possibly creating temporary delays or obstacles to progress regarding your agenda on the work-front. This Moon-Saturn polarity also starts a long void lunar cycle that lasts until 12:29AM PDT tomorrow. During the void lunar twilight zone, Mercury makes an abrasive, 45-degree link with Ceres (6:14PM PDT). Strive to keep overall productivity going strongly in your main fields of expertise.  Meanwhile, the main cosmic event is Mercury finally making a station at 2 degrees of Leo (10:40PM PDT) and beginning to shift into direct motion. All Mercury themes — communications, information exchange, classes and primary education, words and language, learning programs, business and trade, health and medicine, transportation and travel plans, magic tricks, sleight-of-hand and theft — are emphasized now and over the next 24 to 48 hours. [Mercury remains in forward motion until November 6, 2012.]
