You know the expression “My cup runneth over?” It’s a reference to feeling the emotion of joy at having good luck in abundance, which is a great way to think about Tarot’s suit of Cups.
The suit of Cups is connected to our emotions and to our relationships, and to matters of the soul. Cups cards can reveal how we truly feel — and how others truly feel about us. They also speak of our emotional well-being.
In a classic Tarot deck, the suit of Cups consists of 14 cards beginning with the Ace of Cups, progressing upward through the 10 of Cups, and concluding with the four Court cards, the Page, Knight, Queen and King of Cups.
When a Cups card turns up in your Tarot reading, it is generally a positive indicator. If you’re asking a question about love, Cups cards are especially uplifting. That said, they can also turn up when you’re feeling confused about a relationship or lacking confidence in yourself.
Tarot’s suit of Cups is associated with the watery, emotional zodiac signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.
