Your Ancient Symbol Card for Today is Love

Your Ancient Symbol Card for Today

Love indicates that love is either present in our life or a distinct possibility. Be open to all possibilities, remembering that true love is given freely, without condition, and does not have to be earned. This is the kind of love we want to welcome into our life and to give to others. Be open to new ideas, and beware of judging against someone in an unloving manner. When Love appears, return to the place where you can love yourself and then seek out the same love from others.

As a daily card, Love suggests that for those who are currently in a relationship the opportunity to deepen the bond is present. For those who are single, Love implies that the prospect for them to begin a romantic relationship is very strong at this time.

This is a period of transition, and although you’re doing the work, you may not be getting the exact results you desire. Your Daily Tarot Card for July 12 is Ten of Wands

Ten of Wands

This suit, most often called “Wands” and sometimes called “Rods” or “Staves,” represents initiative, ambition, drive and desire. This is the suit of enterprise and risk-taking.

The Ten of this suit represents an all-out effort, an obsessive commitment to a task which demands everything you’ve got. The person shown in decks with pictures is in no position to rest until he makes it inside the stout walls of the well-defended castle in the distance. If he fails, he will become prey for the highway robbers after dark.

It doesn’t matter that he’s overloaded and underfed. With this card, you have to do whatever it takes to get to completion — nothing can be allowed to interfere.

Promises? Promises? Are promises past due and payable? People make them to get what they want, you know. People say, “I’m sorry for what I did. I promise not to do it again.” Now is the time to take an objective look. You find insight into motivations. Promises are sacred. If single and dating, even the simplest of them reneged upon is a heads-up warning you can’t ignore today.

Tarot Card of the Day

Strength

July 11, 2018

The Strength Tarot card represents nature, which, however wild in its primal form, is tamed by our subtler, finer self — our feminine side, our inner self. The will and passion of our instinctive nature does not need to be broken, but refined and brought to consciousness, so that all levels of creation may come into harmony.

The feminine soul-force contains a persuasive power that can nurture and induce cooperation from others, stilling disruptive energies by harmonizing differences in the spirit of collective good will.

Edhadh-Aspen

Aspens grow in large colonies, with the root system potentially up to 10,000’s of years old. This tree can survive fires and other harmful conditions. Often this letter can be associated with death and the fear that comes from it. However it is better to see it for what the aspen really is. When one dies another aspen grows from the same root system. Death is not always a negative aspect of life; sometimes it is a necessary transition. The letter Edhadh will force us to look inward for what we need to “let die,” so we can renew ourselves.

Fortune – A large part of your life will be gone, yet do not worry because another great part will stop. Edhadh never closes one door without opening another!

Your Weekly Tarot Card Advice for July 9 – 15

This Week’s Tarot Card Reading: Eight of Swords

Your weekly Tarot card advice for July 9-15, 2018

What are you afraid of? What doubts are plaguing you, making you feel incapable? This week, the Eight of Swords is here to deliver an important piece of advice related to this month’s theme of gaining fresh perspective (the Hanged Man). Who has tied these ropes around you and secured the blindfold around your eyes? Only fear itself, aka YOU. Shimmy out of your ties and let the straps fall to the ground around you. Reach up there and untie the cloth blocking you from the truth of the world. Discover that there is a clear path ahead.

Not feeling able to take this on faith alone? Need proof? OK, let’s find you some. Think back to the last time you experienced self-doubt. Use more Swords mental energy to analyze the situation now that you have some distance from it. Why did you doubt your ability to succeed? Did you actually lack necessary skills, or was your fear based on something more abstract and intangible?

The Eight of Swords indicates focus is on negative thoughts. It IS helpful to examine the risks involved, but analyzing only those doesn’t present a rational picture. You need a Column B for what might be gained by bold action. Weigh the two against each other and see if you can achieve a clearer sense of what is true, and what is worth some risk. Don’t let abstract fear stand in your way of saying “yes” to opportunities this week.

The Two in this suit usually represents conflicting ideas or visions. These must be reconciled by communication in order to arrive in a harmonious place or to complete strategic negotiations. Mixed signals prevail.

While they may be appearing to try to communicate, opposite sides are missing each other entirely, with possibly drastic consequences. In the best case, a frank discussion would clear the air and serve both sides, but one cannot expect that in every instance where this card appears.

Learn more about Tarot’s misunderstood Fool card

The Fool card often gets a bum rap. He tends to be mocked as a naive idiot without direction or purpose … but things aren’t always as they seem, right? Let’s take a closer look at The Fool and what he can teach us.

When we think of The Fool Tarot card, we are reminded to let go of expectations and trust our instincts. We think of our spiritual journey and the desire for rebirth. As the very first card in the Tarot deck’s Major Arcana, The Fool signifies a fresh start or a new beginning.

Think of The Fool not so much as naive as open-minded and optimistic. The Fool is hopeful and positive, and he’s doing his best to shine a light on new beliefs, innovative and shocking ideas and the unpredictability of life.

Motto: May innocence find wisdom

Sometimes the word “fool” has negative connotations. Think of the simpleton, the childlike state of someone who is out of touch and who might be the focus of mockery. But there’s nothing silly about The Fool.

Historically, The Fool card may have appeared as a carnival entertainer, a huckster or a jester. Symbolically, it represented a person driven by base needs and urges, one who has fallen into a state of poverty and deprivation. By the 20th century the more familiar modern image and symbolism took over, and The Fool has been widely seen as the Tarot card hearkening renewing energy and a fresh start. Quite an evolution for The Fool!

Traditional Rider-Waite metaphors and imagery have prevailed within modern Tarot decks. Nature scenes depicting beautiful mountaintops include the image of The Fool getting ready to take an adventurous step into the unknown. Getting The Fool card within a Tarot reading is a reminder to appreciate our inner growth and our journey of personal development. It is the spirit in search of experiences, and the childlike wisdom we aim to employ as we go deeper into self-realization through new challenges.

Be encouraged when you draw The Fool card in any Tarot spread, you may soon face a new opportunity or challenge!

This Week’s Tarot Card Reading: The Fool

This Week’s Tarot Card Reading: The Fool

Your weekly Tarot card advice for July 2-8, 2018

the fool tarot card

July’s theme, the Hanged Man, is about a change in point of view, and what better way to invite a fresh perspective than to begin a new journey? That’s just what The Fool card signifies this week: an attitude of openness and playfulness, of willingness to set out without an established plan and see where the road takes you. This month requires pushing past discomfort, letting go of the self-imposed restrictive attitudes that might be preventing you from living your fullest life. Loosen up your ideas of what has to be, and let life be an unfolding adventure.

Say yes to things this week before fear or rationality can talk you out of it. Be spontaneous. Go places you’ve been curious about — visit a new country, a new city, a different neighborhood, or even just the new restaurant down the street. A Fool experience doesn’t have to be hugely risky or large-scale. Cook something without a recipe. Take a walk without a destination. Try on clothes at a shop that looks interesting (without feeling pressure to buy anything!). There are so many possible manifestations of this card in daily life.

The Fool, ultimately, is an optimist, which can be a difficult attitude to maintain. But don’t worry — even the best Fool isn’t setting out without some amount of preparation. Figure out what your bare necessities are and pack them in your metaphorical traveling bag so that you can enjoy being spontaneous while still feeling safe and somewhat grounded. In many decks’ depictions of the card, including this one, the Fool is also shown with a small dog as a traveling companion. The dog is usually energetic and jumping up at the Fool’s leg to push the figure ahead in the journey. This week, figure out who or what is your little dog, the person or thing that motivates you to keep going even when you feel tired or discouraged.
