Today We Celebrate….

Moon Day (United States)
HINA

Themes: Moon; Communication; Cycles; Mediation

Symbols: Lunar (silver/white items or any corresponding plants/stones); Coconut

About Hina:
This Tahitian goddess is the Lady in the Moon who shines on us with her changing faces. As the dark moon, she presides over death. As the waxing moon, she is the creatrix who made people from clay and the moon, her home. As the full moon, she embodies a mature woman’s warrior spirit. As the waning moon, she is the aging crone full of wisdom and insight.

According to tradition, coconuts were created from the body of Hina’s lover, an eel god, after he was killed by superstitious locals. She also governs matters of honest communication, and when properly propitiated, Hina sometimes acts as an intermediary between humans and the gods.

To Do Today: On July 20 in 1969, American astronauts visited Hina in person, landing on the moon’s surface and exploring it. In spiritual terms this means taking time to explore the magical nature of the moon today. If the moon is dark, it represents the need to rest from your labors. If it is waxing, start a new magic project and stick with it so the energy grows like the moon. If Hina’s lunar sphere is full, turn a coin in your pocket three times, saying “prosperity” each time so your pocket remains full. If the moon is waning, start taking positive action to rid yourself of a nagging problem. Eat some coconut to help this along by internalizing Hina’s transformative powers.

The Sky This Week for July 29 to July 24 2016

Egyptian Comments & Graphics
The Sky This Week for July 29 to July 24 2016

Saturn shines, Mercury and Venus have a close encounter, and the Delta Aquariads meteor shower flies by.

Wednesday, July 20

Look toward the south as darkness falls and you can’t help but see Mars. The Red Planet shines brilliantly at magnitude –1.0 — trailing only the Moon and Jupiter after dusk — against the much fainter background stars of Libra. And it remains visible until it dips below the southwestern horizon shortly after 1 a.m. local daylight time. When viewed through a telescope, Mars’ orange-red disk spans 14″ and shows a number of subtle dark markings. You also might glimpse the white north polar cap, which should be near its minimum extent now because summer ended in the planet’s northern hemisphere early this month.

Thursday, July 21

Pluto reached opposition and peak visibility two weeks ago, and it remains a tempting target all night. It glows dimly at magnitude 14.1, however, so you’ll need an 8-inch or larger telescope with good optics to spot it visually. Pluto currently lies in northeastern Sagittarius, some 0.6° west-southwest of the 3rd-magnitude star Pi (p) Sagittarii. See “The quest for distant Pluto” in the July Astronomy for complete details on finding this world.

Friday, July 22

Tonight offers a good opportunity for binocular users to track down one of summer’s finest open star clusters. NGC 6231 lies in the tail of Scorpius the Scorpion, just 0.5° north of the double star Zeta (z) Scorpii (which is another fine binocular sight). NGC 6231 shines at magnitude 2.6 and packs more than 100 stars into a region just 14′ in diameter. This part of Scorpius lies nearly due south after darkness falls, though it doesn’t climb high from mid-northern latitudes.

For observers across most of eastern North America, the waning gibbous Moon crosses directly in front of Neptune tonight. The 8th-magnitude planet will be difficult to see even through a telescope when it passes behind the Moon’s lit limb, but significantly easier when it reappears from behind the dark limb. Because exact times depend on your specific location, set up your scope in early evening to be ready for the show.

Saturday, July 23

The Southern Delta Aquarid meteor shower ramps up this week. The shower has a broad maximum in late July, but you should see a few members in the hours before dawn. Unfortunately, a waning gibbous Moon currently shares the morning sky, reducing the number of meteors you can see. To tell a Southern Delta Aquarid meteor from a random dust particle burning up in Earth’s atmosphere, trace the streak of light’s path backward. A shower meteor will appear to originate from the constellation Aquarius the Water-bearer.

Sunday, July 24

If you didn’t have a chance to view Neptune passing behind the Moon on Friday, try tracking down the distant planet tonight when it passes 31′ (the width of a Full Moon) due south of the 4th-magnitude star Lambda (l) Aquarii. The pair rises shortly after 10 p.m. local daylight time and climbs some 40° above the southern horizon by the start of morning twilight. You’ll need binoculars to spy magnitude 7.8 Neptune and a telescope to see its blue-gray disk, which spans 2.3″.

In Love have I put my trust

In Love have I put my trust

In this Goddess is my safety.
In Peace have I put my trust
You are my defense and support.

Tho I am surrounded by doubts
And the voices of vanity drag on my heart,
Still I hold the vision.
I call to you Love, arise.
Peace, fall upon us like the whining rain
And sweep aside this fallow harvest.

Join hands and plow this land to new fruitfulness.
Join hearts and restore the Earth to her lovers.
That we may all sing under a golden moon.

What A Beautiful Day It is Going To Be! Praise The Divine for All The Blessings We Have Been Given This Wednesday!

Cute Thank You Comments
Good morning, family. Funny how you change, I now feel comfortable calling you family. I see what Lady A means when she refers to each of you as her family, brothers and sisters. The love on this site could only come from a very strong bond between us all. That bond is so strong that when one of us is in need, the call is answered. I wanted to tell you that we did meet the amount we needed to get the little ball of fur to our doorstep. In fact, we went over the amount we needed. I can never begin to thank you for all you have done.

I will going this afternoon to have the money wired to the rescue organization. After they receive the wire, the pup will be shipped and should arrive here in about 2 days. We are going to attach a card to his crate that will state he is from the WOTC. If it wasn’t for you, this would have never happened. My brother and I decided since everyone was so very generous that we are going to add you to the raffle, if you don’t mind. I guess it is our way of saying thank you and it is a very heart felt thank you.

As soon as the little ball of furry arrives, I will let you know. Hopefully, I will capture a photo of Lady A when she first sees him. There is no way she could see this little guy and not fall in love with him.
Thank you again,
Mystie

Up-date on the Familiar Situation

First, I want to thank each of you that has donated. I figured up the donations and I thought you might like to know that we are only $50.00 away from getting that little darling delivered.

I have done the daily posts today and cried off and on. I wasn’t crying from the loss of Lady A’s familiar, I was crying for the loss of her. I only hope and pray that the Elder from the Hills was right. She told me it would be difficult to bring the bond between Lady A and Kiki. She said she didn’t believe that Lady A wanted it broken because of the items in the grave and then the concrete slab. She told me what I already knew, Lady A had to come back to this realm and herself. Kiki had to move on. The Elder said the only way to break it was to find something that would capture Lady A’s heart. I believe this little fella will.

The reason things have gotten so bad is because Lady A blames herself for Kiki’s death. She didn’t do anything to cause it, she thinks she could have done something to save her if she only had the time. My brother told me she went absolutely wild when Kiki died and that breaks my heart. Lady A has a very deep love for animals and they seem to return that love. My brother told me right before Kiki passed that she raised her little head up and tried to lick the tears from Lady A’s cheeks. They had an bond no one had ever seen the likes of before.

I love Lady A. She is my sister. We grew up together. I wasn’t here when Kiki passed so I blame myself for that. I want her to remember the good times with Kiki and turn her focus to the living once again. I believe once this little ball of fur jumps in her arms, it will be love. I know her love for animals and it will be instant love. I don’t make it a habit of begging but for my sister I make an exception, please we are almost have what we need to get this little ball of fur here. I beg you, please help us get him here. I said earlier you are not only saving one life you are saving two.

Thank you.

I would also ask you to remember that we are trying to raise the funds to get Lady A’s familiar here. If you can donate, great, if you can offer blessings, great, if you can offer prayers, fantastic. Just remember our Lady!
